Mathew admits that all kinds of things were going through his mind; he could not get it out of his head that someone she knew had attacked her.

Jason assures him that now he is back, he will do anything to help, for which Mathew is grateful.

Colin is still looking at the details in the will; “I’m not saying I’m happy about it,

“but if that’s what Izzy wanted . . .” he says, “I just . . . we can still have a proper funeral, can’t we, you know, when the time comes?”

Gaynor agrees that they can, and will make sure that it is a fitting one; Colin wants to contact the medical school,

and Gaynor remarks that one of Lois’ friends has been in touch; “It seems that she’s doing some voluntary work in Tanzania, but she was not sure where.”

Colin realises that they are still none the wiser as to her whereabouts, but Gaynor has been online and contacted some of the more obvious companies;

“Just leave it with me. We’ll have to let Mathew know about the arrangements – do you want me to do it?” Colin would appreciate that.

At Bryntirion, Anita tells Kelly she is going the the bakery in Llanarthur, but Kelly turns down the offer of a custard slice, as she looks anxiously at her phone. Then Anita enquires about Jason,

and is told, “He’s left me – perhaps for ever.” When Anita says that she is sorry, Kelly snarls, “Not as sorry as me!

Gaynor is speaking to Mathew; “I know this is . . . well, we were not expecting it, either, but this is what she wanted, so we have to respect that.”

Mathew understands, commenting, “This is just like Izzy – doing this to help other people – and not telling anyone.” Gaynor points out that it does not mean there will be no funeral, but they will have to wait for a year.

“That would suit you, wouldn’t it?” demands Mathew, “You won’t have to pretend.

“You told Izzy that you loved Lois more than her.”
Gaynor regrets saying that, and confesses that she may be at fault for not loving her enough;

“Do you have any idea how much you hurt her?” he asks, and she replies that she knows that more that he thinks.

but Mathew stops her there. maintaining that Izzy was nothing like her mother. At that, Gaynor turns and leaves.

Jason next calls on Mark, who is busy vacuuming; “Whoa! Are your shoes clean?” he demands,

"Kath and Brynmor are back from their cruise tomorrow" |
“Kath and Brynmor are home from their cruise tomorrow.” He wants a price from Jason for some work;

"I want to knock this wall through to next door" |
“I want to knock this wall through to next door,” he demonstrates, something which comes as a shock to Jason.

“Have you thought this through?” he wonders,

"A bachelor pad for me" |
and Mark envisages creating a bachelor pad for himself.

“You do realise that is a supporting wall?” Jason goes on, “It will cost a fortune!”
That does not concern Mark in the slightest; “Brynmor will be paying – you can put an RFJ in there,” he says,

Jason will contact Tomos ac Ellis immediately to see if he can get a key to the house, so he can have a look next door.

Gaynor meets Hywel by the cash machine; “I don’t know what I was expecting,” she says, and Hywel replies that Mathew was always going to be difficult to face.

Gaynor needed guts to go there, and she is glad that Colin has agreed at last.

Mathew pointedly avoids them |
Mathew is approaching and when he sees them, he walks into the road to avoid them; Hywel can appreciate that his head is all over the place.

“But what about me?” she whines, “Nobody’s ever worried about me.

“Sorry, Hywel, if it wasn’t for you, I would have no-one.” Her phone sounds, and he says that people have been sympathising; “Not with me,” she snarls and the answers the call.

Hywel gets out his phone and simultaneously makes a call to Eileen, asking her for a favour.

Mathew arrives at the chip shop flat with some post addressed to Izzy; “I didn’t have the heart to open it – if you want me to cancel anything . . .” Colin tells him to leave everything to them, as they have to wait for the death certificate.

If Mathew finds any more paperwork, he will pass it on, adding that Britt already has the file;

Jason returns to Bryntirion, and is asked by Kelly where he has been; she offers to make some lunch.

He does not want to argue with her, and she pleads, “That’s the last thing I want –

He sinks down on the sofa;

“So, the night I was in the casino, I was gambling.” Kelly’s heart sinks as he goes on, “I’ve got gambling apps on my phone, too.

“We said we’d always be honest and never keep anything from each other – or lie to each other. There’s no need to worry – I’ve contacted my sponsor – he knows now – it’s under control.”

Kelly sobs, “But for how long, Jase – how long?”

He cannot answer that, but does know one thing – without Kelly he has no hope,

“Jason,” she says, “Whatever it takes – you know that!” which comes as a great relief to him.

Cassie asks Mark if he is doing anything to celebrate his mother’s return; “We’ll probably have a couple of cans,” he casually replies, but she maintains that Brynmor will expect more than a couple of cheap cans. “It will be a change from all the champagne they’re been drinking on the cruise,” he sneers.

As Rhys comes to the bar for another drink, Mark receives a text message; “You’re not going to believe this!”

Cassie imagines that his mother has fallen in love with the ship’s captain.

“No, they’re not coming home at all – they’re going on another cruise! I’ve spent hours tidying the garden and spent a fortune on flowers!”
Rhys reminds him that he will have the house to himself for a little longer,

Eileen is not sure that she has ever forgiven herself; “I sometimes think that it would have been easier if she hadn’t found out about me – better for her, I mean.”

Eileen adds that the good times with Angela were great – but when they were not, they argued like cat and dog.

“I just want – you,” she tells him, as she stands up and moves towards him.
