"See you on board, then"

Brynmor is speaking to someone on the phone, in English, “Thank you – see you on board, then.”

Cassie has been on a shopping spree

Cassie comes into the house, carrying several bags, and he tells her that he has booked;

"I would never have chosen a cruise to the Aarctic"

“I would never have chosen the Arctic if you hadn’t suggested it,” he confesses.

"There's more than sun and seaside"

She points out that there is more to this world than sun and the seaside;  “And they say that in these cold countries, there’s a silence . . . and that the fjords are worth seeing – while they’re still there.”

Brynmor muses, “A whole month of seeing the world – or a part of it anyway.”

"A month?"

Cassie is surprised to hear that it is for a month,

"You don't book a cruise for a weekend"

and he replies, “Of course – you don’t book a cruise for a weekend.   Right then, I’m going to start getting things organised.”   Cassie is really looking forward to this.

Kelly has an unwelcome visitor

Kelly opens the door of Bryntirion and finds that Sara is the visitor;  she is rather half-heartedly invited in.

"I've withdrawn the allegation"

“You’re going to like this,” Sara announces, “I’ve withdrawn the allegation,”

Kelly is far from excited

but Kelly is less than jubilant.

"Assault – what assault?"

“Well, Jason has been to the clinic, so – assault?   What assault?   Kelly, I just want to put the whole thing behind us,” Sara insists.

"It's a bit awkward, though"

Kelly points out, “It’s a bit awkward though, when you’re having Jason’s baby, because we’ll have a living, breathing reminder for eighteen years, at least!”

"Ifan will have a little brother or sister"

Sara maintains that it will be fine, and exciting – and Ifan will have a little brother or sister.

Kelly sinks into the armchair

Kelly flops down into the armchair as Sara continues enthusing, “I was looking at maternity wear earlier, and onesies – you like onesies, don’t you?

"Onesies are a lot more practical"

“A lot of people stuff their kids into jeans, but onesies are a lot more practical.”

"OK, whoa, stop!"

“OK, whoa, stop!” Kelly urges her, “You haven’t conceived yet,” which rather takes the wind out of Sara’s sails.

"Sorry – it's the hormones!"

She puts her enthusiasm down to hormones,

"Huh!"

and Kelly merely grunts, so she thinks she had better go, telling Kelly to enjoy the celebrations tonight.

“What celebrations?” she asks, and is reminded that Sara has withdrawn the allegation

"You're a free woman, Kelly"

and she is free woman.

Kelly views the situation very differently

Kelly obviously does not share that opinion.

At number 7, Tyler does not want to leave,

"Well, come back later, then"

so Iolo tells him to come back later;  then there is a knock at the door,

"It's Dad – go, through the back door!

and when Iolo sees that it is his father, Tyler is instructed to leave through the back.

"The bedroom curtains are still closed"

“I was starting to think you were still in bed – the bedroom curtains are still closed,” says Siôn,

"I haven't opened them yet"

and Iolo replies that he has not opened them yet.   “You’re looking better – you’ve got some colour in your cheeks, but it’s important that you rest.

"I see everything that goes on from the bookshop"

“I see everything that goes on from the bookshop – Tyler’s in and out of here constantly.”

Iolo quickly manufactures the excuse that they have been sorting out the attic, and is warned not to overdo it;

"Tyler's doing the hard work, Dad"

“No, Tyler’s doing all the hard work,” Iolo assures him, and he thinks he ought to have a word with Tyler, as he does not want him tiring out Iolo.

"Haven't you got any books to sell?"

Iolo insists there is no need for that, and enquires, “Haven’t you got any books to sell?”   His father takes the hint and leaves the house.

Sara is looking at maternity wear

Sara is looking at maternity wear on the laptop when Cassie comes downstairs, trying out the clothes she proposes wearing for the cruise.

"Brynmor and I are going on a cruise"

“Brynmor and I are going on a cruise for a month,” she proudly announces, but Sara moans that she has never fancied a cruise.

“Well, there we are, put a dampener on things,” Cassie groans,

"Not quite my scene, Cassie"

and Sara maintains that bowls on the deck with the captain is not quite her scene.   In that case, Cassie is glad that she is going, rather than Sara, and goes upstairs to try on something else.

"Oh, Sioned, there was no need . . ."

At Penrhewl, Sioned is giving Eifion his thank you gifts;  “Oh, Sioned, there was no need –

". . . because it was supposed to be my holiday!"

“because it was supposed to be my holiday!” he snarls, “People will make fun of me now, thanks to you.”

Sioned assures him that they will not tell anyone, and Eileen says that everyone thinks he has been away, too.

"You look a bit pale, Eifion"

“You look a bit pale, considering you’ve been in the sun,” she adds, and he will say that he has been using factor 50.

"Fake tan – I've got plenty upstairs"

Sioned has the answer;  “Fake tan – I’ve got plenty upstairs,” and he is adamant that she will not use that stuff on him.

"I'm not putting it on for you!"

“I’m not putting it on for you!” she scowls, scornfully.

"And you can keep that cheese!"

He takes a sniff at the cheese she has brought home for him, and informs her that she can keep it.

"A bit of chocolate to cheer you up?"

Sara comes out of the door of number 9 and sees Kath leaving the shop;  “A bit of chocolate to cheer you up?” she asks,

"Must be hard seeing Brynmor off enjoying himself"

“It must be hard seeing Brynmor going off enjoying himself.”

"What are you on about?"

Kath does not know what she is talking about, and is told, “The cruise – he hasn’t told you, has he?”

"It's nothing to do with me, is it?"

Kath wonders why he should, as it is no longer anything to do with her, but still wonders how long he will be away on this cruise.

“A month,” Sara informs her, and Kath hopes that he enjoys it;  “And I’ll have the house to myself as well,” Sara goes on,

"Where's Cassie going, then?"

so Kath asks where Cassie is going.

"With him"

“With him,” is the answer;

This puts the cat among the pigeons

Kath immediately turns and storms off, with Sara warning her not to do anything stupid.

Anita arrives at Penrhewl

Sioned comes into the kitchen at Penrhewl, carrying a box of vegetables;  she is followed by Anita, who is looking forward to discussing ideas about Cae Glas.

Sioned has great ambitions

“I honestly think that these cooking kits will be huge for us if we choose the right recipés,” says Sioned.

Anita is sure that with them sitting around the table, they will make the right decisions;

Than they are joined by Jaclyn

then they are joined by Jaclyn, who has some recipés she cannot wait to share with them.   Anita had been thinking she would be the only one there.

"I want you to cook each other's recipés"

“To make sure the instructions in these kits are clear, I want you to cook each other’s recipes,” Sioned tells them, and Anita is immediately offended, as she has been practising her own recipés.   Jaclyn appears not to be looking forward to this cooking session.

"Oh, there she is . . ."

In the Deri, Kath is sitting at the bar, waiting for Cassie to come in;  “Oh, there she is –

". . . couldn't wait to get your claws into Brynmor, could you?"

“you just couldn’t wait to get your claws into Brynmor, could you?” she demands, “I heard you’re both going on a love cruise.”

"We're going as friends"

Cassie emphasises that they are going as friends, but this does not convince Kath.

“If we were more than friends, you’d only have yourself to blame – I told you not to be so stubborn,” Cassie’s goes on.

"Does that give you an excuse to steal him?"

“Does that give you an excuse to steal him?” Kath wants to know, but is reminded that she finished with Brynmor, and had a good man there.

"What did you do?   You rejected him!"

“What did you do?   You rejected him!”   Cassie again stresses that they are going on holiday as friends, and are not going to get married, so she cannot understand why Kath is making such a fuss.

"Because I love him, Cassie!"

“Because I love him, Cassie, that’s why!” exclaims Kath.

"Say that again!"

At that very opportune moment, Brynmor appears at the end of the bar, presumably having just returned from the gent’s.

“Say that again!” he tells her,

His appearance comes as a shock

and she is surprised to see him there;

"Say it again, please"

“Say it again, please,” he repeats,

"I love you, Brynmor!"

and she does tell him that she loves him.

"And I love you"

“And I love you,” he replies.

"Why are you taking her on a cruise, then?"

“Why are you taking her on a cruise, then?” Kath demands,

"The cruise is for you"

and he assures her that on the contrary the cruise is for her;  he was on his way to ask her now.

Cassie got the wrong end of the stick there

“For me?   Not Cassie?” gasps Kath in amazement, and Cassie is extremely embarrassed.

“So are you willing to come with me?” he asks,

"Of course I am!"

and she replies that of course she is, and appears to be about to embrace him, but naturally, we are not permitted to see that.

"Hope that the ground swallows me up"

Cassie, on the other hand, mutters to herself, “Right, I think I’ll go outside and hope that the ground swallows me up!”

"We should put all your ideas on the list"

Sioned has taken upon herself the task of sampling all the recipés, and decides, “Do you know what, Jacs?   I honestly think we could put all of your ideas on the list – they’re original, exciting, but there still is simple enough.”

"What do you think of my recipés?"

This is bad news for Anita, who wants to know what they think of her recipés;  Sioned answers, “The moussaka was all right –

"Stodgy?   It's not stodgy!"

“perhaps a bit stodgy.   We’re looking for cleaner and fresher flavours.”

"Your seabass was lush"

Jaclyn tries to appease Anita by commenting that her seabass was lush, and Sioned agrees,

"And that salsa you put with it"

particularly complimenting the salsa Anita put with it.

"Any more and it wouldn't be a shortlist"

“So we’ll use all of your ideas, Jacs, and Anita’s sea bass – there’s no point having more, or it will not be a shortlist,” is Sioned’s verdict.

Now they will have a break

“Right, we’ll have a break, and then Mam will do the puddings with you.”

"I've really enjoyed myself"

Jaclyn has really enjoyed herself,

Which is more that Anita has

but Anita evidently has not;  she is told not to sulk, as they are all a team;  “It doesn’t feel like it to me,” she moans.

"Whatever I suggested, nothing would do"

Eileen returns from her shopping trip to see that Jaclyn has a bottle of rum for the rum baba, and quite fancies a drink;  “I could do with something after an afternoon of looking for shoes for Huwi-John – whatever I suggested, nothing would do.”

"That sounds familiar!"

“That sounds familiar!” Anita grumbles.

"Using the back door, like a good little boy"

Tyler returns to number 7;  “Here I am, using the back door, like a good little boy,” he says,

"Dad has seen you coming and going"

and is informed that Siôn has seen him coming and going.

"Don't say you're ashamed of me"

“Don’t say you’re ashamed of me,” Tyler groans, and Iolo answers that his father and Garry would make so much fuss, which he does not have the energy to deal with.

“I just want to enjoy being with you without the stress,” he adds, and Tyler is not looking forward to carrying on like this, as if it were some kind of affair,

"Exciting, isn't it?"

but maintains, in a very half-hearted fashion, that it is exciting;  no-one knows, except the two of them.

Sara is sobbing over a film

When Cassie arrives home, she finds Sara watching an emotional film and crying over it;

"Now they love each other – lovely!"

“This couple hated each other and now love each other – it’s so lovely!”   Cassie accuses her of getting soppy in her old age,

"I'm getting more stupid"

and confesses that she is getting more stupid, sneering at the idea of a cruise.

"You've every right to do so"

“If you and Brynmor want to go away together, you’ve got every right to do so,” Sara tells her,

"The holiday was for Kath, not me!"

but is informed that the holiday was not for her, it was for Kath, and she misunderstood.

“He said he’d like some company, and I thought he was talking about me – I’m so embarrassed!” Cassie continues,

Cassie needs a stiff drink

as she pours herself a drink.

"And you were so excited"

Sara comments that she was so excited, buying new clothes and things.   Cassie wonders if Kath would like them, but is told that they are not the same size;  she should keep them to cheer herself up.

She hopes that she and Kath will be OK . . .

“The only thing that will cheer me up is if Kath and I are OK,” Cassie replies,

. . . and this brings tears to Sara's eyes

and again Sara is crying because this situation is also so emotional.

The cooks are apparently in a tipsy state

In the kitchen at Penrhewl, it appears that the three cooks have been drinking too much of the rum, and Eileen pronounces all of the desserts to be excellent, but Anita is very eager to find out which is her favourite.

They giggle like schoolgirls

Eileen cannot remember which of them was which, and they all giggle like schoolgirls.   Eileen announces that the recipés which have made the shortlist are all of them.

"Both of you have lovely puddings"

“I can’t choose, because both of you have lovely puddings.”

The rum has made Anita apologetic

Anita actually apologises for being in a bad mood today,

"It's hard for you to accept I'm the better cook"

but Jaclyn realises, “It’s hard for you to accept I’m the better cook.”

Anita totters to the toilet

Anita needs to use the toilet and staggers somewhat drunkenly from the room.

"Is this fake tan off?"

Eifion rushes into the farmhouse, shouting for Sioned, but is told that she is not there;  “Is that fake tan off?” he demands, and Jaclyn remarks that he looks healthy.   “I’ve had to tell APD I’m ill, because of Sioned’s stupid ideas!”

"Topping up his tan after the holiday"

Eileen gives the excuse that he wants to top up his tan after the holiday;

"Stop laughing and do something!"

“Stop laughing and do something!” he rages,

"Go home and let it fade"

but Eileen tells him to go home and let it fade, as he does not have a lot of choice.

"To you, me and the Golden Liner!"

In the Deri, Brynmor and Kath drink a toast, “To you, me and the Golden Liner.”

She says that it sounds so exotic, and he is confident that she will be the most beautiful woman on the ship.

"How can you be so nice to me?"

“How can you be so nice to me, when I’ve been so awful to you?” she asks.

"You're the only one for me"

He answers that she is the only one for him, and she realises that he has not told her where they are going.   She guesses, “The Med – the Bahamas?”

When he advises that it is to the Arctic,

"What – the North Pole?"

she imagines that he means the North Pole,

"It will be so romantic"

but he assures her that it will be so romantic.

Cassie arrives for a word with Kath

Then Cassie arrives, and would like a word with Kath.

"I'm talking to my future husband here"

“If you don’t mind, Im talking to my future husband here,” Kath replies.

"I'm sorry I upset you, Kath"

Cassie is very sorry that she upset Kath;  “I’ve bought one or two things, and I’d like you to have them.   As I said, I thought Brynmor and I were going as friends.”

"And you would come back as a couple"

Kath suggests that the plan was they would come back as a couple.

"I hope we can remain mates"

Cassie tells them to enjoy the cruise, and hopes that they can remain mates, but Kath tells her not to expect a postcard.

"We could pretend we bumped into each other"

Tyler asks Iolo if he wants to go out for a walk;  “We could pretend that we just bumped into each other – we can say we’re picking Greta up or something – no-one will guess.”

"You're angry, aren't you?"

Iolo would rather stay there in the house and suspects that Tyler is angry;

"You said you were OK with this"

“You said you were OK with this that having an affair was exciting.   I don’t want the hassle,” he says.

"Or you don't want the commitment"

Tyler looks at it another way;  “Or you don’t want the commitment – if you don’t want me, you can dump me just like that.

"You're keeping me a dirty little secret"

“You’re keeping me a dirty little secret, and if it doesn’t work, there’s no problem.   I know I’ve hurt you in the past, but it’s you I want.   It’s you I’ll always want.   So please, if you’re not sure about us, I want to know.   Can you really forget what I did with Aled?”

Iolo does not say anything . . .

Iolo does not answer,

. . . so Tyler leaves, via the back door, of course

so Tyler leaves again by the back door.
