He points to the phone attached to his arm and replies that he has an app for that purpose.
“You take running seriously, then?” she goes on, and he says that he likes to push himself. “I wouldn’t mind having a go at a half marathon,” Ffion continues, “But moving up to the next level calls for a bit of commitment.

He does not seem particularly keen, but she excitedly insists that it will only take a second to get her trainers, and she will see him outside his house.

Iolo has taken Tesni’s challenge seriously and his father is watching his fitness video on sportview.com with some incredulity. “Just keep those things to get even angrier,” says Iolo, “Being angry helps exercise, because by being angry . . .”

In the garage, Garry is packing the last few items into boxes when Mark brings in the post;

“You shifted the stuff quickly,” he remarks, and Garry replies that he did not have much choice, with Dani hassling him for£10,000 – and he has to settle with her. When Mark enquires whether he has got it, he grumbles. “Yes and no – at the moment, I’m in a hole.

Mark regards that as, “A bit hippy-dippy,” but Garry is convinced that she is not thinking straight, and imagines that the next thing she will want is a water birth, and gongs – or whale music.

Britt announces her plan to Mathew; “I thought about holding a remembrance day for Izzy. I remembered how much she liked her candles so now I'm thinking a vigil might be nicer – lighting the candles at dusk, out there in the street. What do you think?”

He says, albeit unenthusiastically, that it is a lovely idea, and she invites him to take part – to say a few words, or read something out. He wants to think about it, and she assures him there is no rush.

Garry sits alone in the empty garage, finishing off the rest of the bottle, when an alert arrives on his phone;

We see that the message from Dani reads, “Still waiting for £10,000. When?”

Mark has a surprise for Dani |
Mark arrives at the Deri flat with a parcel for Dani; Aled warns him that she has been cleaning all morning. “She wants the place to be perfect for the midwife.”

Then Dani walks in, demanding what Mark is doing there;

he is about to explain, when he sees the midwife follow her in.

It is Meinir, one of his former dates, and he feels very uncomfortable. The two of them cannot agree whether or not they know each other.

“Well, I thought you’d find it useful during the birth,” Mark explains, “I want to be as supportive as I can – a birthing pool!”

Dani looks at him blankly, as does the midwife, and he feels rather stupid.

Colin is on the phone; “Yes, I’m up to speed on the condition – I just want to chat with Dr Bowen about the implications,” he says.

As Britt comes in with some shopping, he continues, “We’re eager to move forward now – can he phone me back when he gets a chance? Thank you.”

Britt assumes that he was talking to the medical school, but he advises that everything has been sorted out with them, thank goodness.

Ffion and DI Wilkinson return from their run; “I’m not used to that pace,” Ffion gasps, and he will just have some water to drink.

Then she adds, “If I wasn’t with you today, how far would you have run?” He estimates approximately 20 miles, which is out of her league, and she is sure that she has held him back.

“It’s all right – I’ll go for another run now,” he answers, and she thinks that another one would give her a heart attack.

“She asks if the DI could do a training plan for her, to which he agrees.

“And I could make you dinner as a thank you,” she adds, “I insist – I’d like to. How about next week?”

He answers that was what Garry said; “And you listen to everything Garry says?” she enquires. He apologises for spending time with Garry, stressing that it does not make her less of a friend.

and she thanks him for his concern, agreeing that they are still mates.

Garry approaches the Deri and Dani demands why she has had no reply to her text; “I want the money.”

He suggests that she should invite him in for a coffee and they can have a chat; it is important that they should be the civil, for the kids’ sake.
