Luned is in the gym
Luned is exercising in the gym when Mathew walks in;  she asks how he is,
"I'm good, thanks, Luned"
and he replies that he is good.   He wonders if she has seen Tesni recently;
"She's really full-on with her revision"
“She’s really full-on with her revision,” Luned informs him
“If you see her, tell her that she can text me if she wants,” he adds,
"I'm here for a workout"
then he meets Rhys, and says that he is there for a workout.   Rhys was not expecting him back in the gym for a while yet,
"I really don't think that's a good idea"
and really thinks that it is not a good idea.
Mathew turns and walks out
Mathew turns and sadly walks out.
Luned is getting some attention from Rhys . . .
Luned asks Rhys if he has a second, and enquires if she should be using more weights, but he simply instructs her to do more repeats rather than more weights;  “Mix up what do you do – you could do some cardio on the bike.”
. . . but not for long
She is enjoying the attention, but is disappointed when his phone rings.
"A bit of a spring clean at Penrhewl, is it?"
Izzy is buying cleaning materials in the shop, and her father comments, “A bit of a spring clean at Penrhewl, is it?”   She replies that it is for the caravan in Kath’s field, where she is now living.
"I cannot stand living with Sioned!"
She maintains that she cannot stand living with Sioned, and felt awkward being under Eileen’s feet.
Colin can appreciate this, and still cannot believe that Jim has gone;
"I wish I could do more to help"
“I wish I could do more to help, he says.   Izzy suggests that they should do something to support Eileen as a community,
"Something like a festival or fair up at Penrhewl"
like organising a public event to remember Jim, possibly a festival or fair, up at Penrhewl.
"That's a good idea, Izzy!"
This meets with Colin’s approval;  “Yes – and raise money for a dementia charity at the same time!”
"You're the one who should organise it"
Izzy says that everybody would support that, and thinks that her father should be the one to organise it.   This causes Colin some surprise, but Izzy points out that he and Eileen are almost best friends, and is confident he would make a great job of it.
Mathew is heading back to the flat
Mathew comes through the shop on his way to the flat, and Izzy informs him that she has moved into the caravan at Penrhewl;
"A few things in the caravan need fixing"
“A few things need fixing – could you come up this afternoon?” she asks, and Mathew welcomes the chance to do something constructive.
"He didn't go to his psychiatric appointment"
When he has gone upstairs, Colin tells Izzy that Mathew did not go to his psychiatric appointment, and was angry when he came back;  “Something must have upset him.”
Daf and a woman arrive at Llwyncelyn . . .
We see the lavish marquee set up in the garden of Llwyncelyn, where the guests are starting to arrive.   Sara and Dylan are there, and Sara remarks that they have gone to a lot of effort; “They obviously want to make an impression.”
. . . and Dylan notices
Then Dylan’s expression changes as he sees Daf arriving with a woman;
"Daf, what are you doing here?"
“Daf, what are you doing here?” he says, and is told that they were invited by Hywel, with whom he plays squash sometimes.
"This is Amanda"
He introduces his wife, Amanda.
Sara comments that the two men are a bad influence on each other;  “Last time they went out, Dyl ended up in A&E,” but Daf denies that he is the bad influence, and asks how things are going at Tapas.   Sara invites them there some time, and Daf wants to go and catch up with Hywel.
"I'm seriously impressed!"
When they arrive, Dani tells Garry that she is seriously impressed,
Dylan keeps looking at Daf . . .
and we see that Dylan
. . . and vice versa
and Daf are exchanging malevolent glances.
Guto is perusing the card display
In the shop, Guto looks at the display of cards, so Colin asks if he can be of any assistance;  “You’ve been standing there for ages.
"Have you got a special birthday in the house?"
Have you got a special birthday in the house – or a special occasion?”
"I want to find something you would give to someone you like . . ."
Guto replies that is trying to find something that you would give to someone you like;
". . . you know, someone you like like!"
“You know, someone you like like!”   Colin knows exactly what he means, describes him as ‘Casanova’, and enquires about the identity of the lucky girl.
"Ooh – romance is in the air!"
When he hears that it is Luned, Colin exclaims, “Ooh, romance is in the air!”   Guto says that they used to go out with each other but the timing was not right.
"And now you're hoping to rekindle things?"
“And now you’re hoping to rekindle things?” Colin says, “Well, if you want a word of advice,
"A bunch of roses – or chocolates"
“I wouldn’t give her a card – no way, José!   What you want are flowers, a bunch of roses – or chocolates – you can’t go wrong with a box of chocolates.”
"This is what you want . . ."
He turns and takes a box of Cadburys Milk Tray from the shelf;
". . . and all because the lady loves Milk Tray"
“And all because the lady loves Milk Tray,” but then realises that was long before Guto’s time.
"This will be a hit . . . Gut!"
“But trust me now, this will be a hit . . . Gut!”   [the letter ‘u’ in Welsh is pronounced as ‘i’]
Mathew prepares for his maintenance job . . .
Up in the shop flat, Mathew is getting together his tools for the jobs in the caravan,
. . . and texts Izzy that he is on his way
and texts Izzy to tell her he is on his way.   We hear footsteps on the stairs and Tesni arrives;
"Hi, Math"
“Hi, Math,” she says, and he tells her he is off to do some work,
"I'm doing a favour for a friend"
doing a favour for a friend.   She is pleased to hear that he is keeping busy, but advises him not to overdo things.
He enquires how her revision is going,
"My head feels as if it's going to explode"
and she groans that her head feels as if it is going to explode;  “That’s why I’m here – I need a break for a couple of hours and
"I thought you might like to do something
“I thought you might like to do something.”
This leaves Mathew in an awkward position
This puts Mathew in rather a quandary.
These four seem to be getting on famously
At the garden party, Dai and Diane appear to be getting on like a house on fire with Daf and Amanda, while Dylan is looking extremely uncomfortable;
"I'm fine, Sara"
Sara wants to know why he is so quiet, but he says that he is fine.
"You're welcome, Sara"
She thanks Dani for the meal last week, and wants to return the favour, although finding the time is a problem.
Garry comes back with some drinks,
Lisa (otherwise known as Melissa, from the brothel in Boncath Road)
and Lisa (last seen being raided by the police at Boncath Road, Carmarthen) is arriving, accompanied by an older gentleman.
This does not go unnoticed by Hywel
Hywel has also noticed her arrival and looks concerned.
"There's still room on the minibus"
Rhys is returning to the gym and meets Luned outside;  she complains that she cannot concentrate for more than 30 minutes on her revision, and she is going out tomorrow.   “I’m going to Swansea – there’s still room on the minibus.”
Guto's approach gives Rhys a chance to escape
Her plan is interrupted by the arrival of Guto, and Rhys takes the opportunity to disappear into the gym.
"Would you like to go to Tapas with me tomorrow?"
“I was about to phone you,” says Guto, “Would you like to go to Tapas with me tomorrow?”
"I'm too busy revising"
She replies that she will not be available, so he suggests tonight, but she maintains she is too busy revising.
"I've got you something"
“I’ve got you something,” he continues, handing her the bag.
"No – I'm eating healthily!"
“Not chocolates?” she exclaims, “No – I’m eating healthily – there’s no point going to the gym and then stuffing myself!
"Give them to your mother"
Give them to your mother – she’ll be thrilled.”   Guto is totally deflated.
Mathew carries out repairs . . .
At the caravan, Mathew is making some adjustments to a window,
. . . which cause him some pain
which appears to be causing him some discomfort;
"It should open perfectly now"
he assures Izzy that the window should now open perfectly, and she says that he is amazing.   “Thank you so much for coming this afternoon to help me,” she says, and he is pleased that he can be useful.
"Put your money away, Izzy!"
He will not accept any payment, telling her to put away her money, but she protests, “I have to thank you somehow – how about I cook you a special dinner?
"Does a Pot Noodle sound OK?"
 Does a Pot Noodle sound OK?”   She will go and put the kettle on.
"How did you meet Alderman Hughes?"
Hywel asks Lisa, “How did you meet Alderman Hughes?”
Probably in the course of her 'work'
and she replies that it was through a friend of a friend.   Gaynor is also surprised to see her there,
"You're so generous, organising this"
and she describes them both as very generous.   Gaynor just hopes that everyone is enjoying themselves.
"I had a heck of a shock!"
When Lisa has moved on, Hywel snarls, “I had no idea she was coming – I had a heck of a shock!”   Gaynor decides that it might be an idea to start his speech, so he calls for attention.
Hywel begins his speech
He thanks everyone for coming today;  “It’s nice to see so many friends, old and new.
"I've decided to throw my hat into the ring"
“As you’ve all heard, I’ve decided to throw my hat into the ring to become the the leader of the group.”
Ieuan Griffiths does not look entirely happy
On the fringe of the gathering, we see that Ieuan Griffiths is standing with a determined look on his face.   “I’ve made this decision for number of reasons,” Hywel goes on.
"What about the compensation?"
He is interrupted by Griffiths, who demands, “What about the compensation?”   Trying to ignore him, Hywel presses on, stressing that drugs are a problem which is becoming rife.
"The compensation you promised after the explosion!"
Griffiths adds, “The compensation you promised businesses after the explosion!” but Hywel is determined to continue speaking about unemployment in rural areas.
The tirade continues, “When will people get their money?”
"They were told there would be no compensation"
Hywel is forced to give the answer that they were told at the time there would be no compensation.   “You just talked nonsense,” Griffiths continues,
"Dan Llywelyn mark two – with his father's tricks!"
“Dan Llywelyn mark two – with his father’s tricks!”
"Don't bring my Dad into this!"
Hywel rages, “Don’t bring my Dad into this!   Why are you here?   Who invited you?   The same old story – poking your nose where it’s not wanted!   Go, before I throw you out!”
"Is that the type of man you want as leader?"
As he turns to leave, Ieuan Griffiths remarks, “A small crisis, and he goes to pieces – is that the type of man you want as leader?”
Dani is rather tickled by this . . .
Dani finds this rather amusing,
. . . but Hywel is speechless
but Hywel has been well and truly humiliated.
The caravan, in its rural surroundings
Inside the caravan, Izzy remarks, “I’d forgotten how lush these are,” as they tuck into their Pot Noodles;  Mathew thinks she will have to get used to them if she intends to stay there.
"I heard you missed your appointment yesterday"
She asks how his week has been, and he is noncommittal;  she continues, “I heard you missed your appointment yesterday,”
"Your Dad's been gossiping again"
and he realises that Colin has been gossiping again.   “Look, I’m not going to lecture you – I’m sure you’ve got a good reason for missing it,
"It's important that you go, Math"
but it’s important that you go.”
Mathew appreciates that, but says that he just could not;  he tried to go back to work.
"Everyone was fussing!"
“Everyone was fussing – Dai insisted I should work behind the counter instead of going on site, so I walked out.”
"Have you tried to do too much too soon?"
Izzy wonders if he may have tried to do too much too soon, and he accuses her of sounding like everyone else.
“Ooh – I’m fussing now, am I?” she demands, and he explains he just wants a routine back, but everyone is treating him differently.
"Staring at me as if I'm a freak"
“In the gym, for example, everybody was staring at me as if I’m a freak or something.”   Izzy quickly assures him that he is not a freak, but people are worried about him.
"Something adventurous and fun!"
She suggests that they should do something together – something adventurous and fun; “A Bungee jump or a hot air balloon ride!   Anything you want,” and he laughs at the prospect.
"Thanks for helping me feel normal again"
He thanks Izzy for helping him to feel normal again.
"I could strangle that Griffiths!"
Hywel furiously growls at Gaynor, “I could strangle him!”   She advises him not to worry about that now, but to go round and talk to people – show them that he is the one that should appoint.
"Are you avoiding me?"
Daf approaches Dylan, asking, “Are you avoiding me?   I’ll call over later to get the cash, OK?”
"Yeah, no problems, Daf"
Dylan agrees, but looks very uncomfortable.
"Who's that bloke talking to Dyl?
After having witnessed that exchange, Garry enquires of Hywel, “That bloke talking to Dyl – do you know who he is?   Where does he come from?”
"He lives in Swansea"
Hywel replies that he lives in Swansea;  “He’s a nice guy – he and his wife are a nice couple.   He runs a business or something –
"Whatever it is, he's got a lot of this"
“whatever it is, he’s got plenty of money.”
"If I want something, I usually get it!"
In the gym, Luned tells Rhys that she enjoys sports psychology, and has learned a lot about herself by doing that module;  “Like I’m determined – if I want something I usually get it!   That’s what Mrs Llywelyn said when she taught me – I heard that you and her have finished.
"If you ever want to talk to someone . . ."
“If you ever want to talk to someone . . .”
"Aargh – my hamstring again!"
However this approach proves fruitless, and Rhys walks away, so once again she pretends that she has pulled a hamstring.
He helps her down . . .
He helps her down from the equipment,
. . . but then suggests she goes for a walk
but then advises that she goes for walk to see if it improves.
Dai talks about his plans to sell APD
Now Dai is chatting to Daf;  “The last thing you think about as a youngster is a pension,” but Daf considers that selling the business is a drastic decision.   “We might have to, “Dai continues, “We’re thinking of selling the job lot as a site for redevelopment –
"That would be a perfect opportunity for someone like you"
“that would be a perfect opportunity for someone like you – you wouldn’t have to worry about planning permission.   Your friendly councillor, Hywel Llywelyn, could sort that out.”
Daf hands over his card
Daf replies that it is possible and gives Dai his card
Guto goes tot he gym, looking for Luned
In the gym, Guto arrives, looking for Luned, and is told by Rhys that she will be coming back;
"Keen, are you?"
“Keen, are you?” he adds, and Guto says they have a date at Tapas after the exams.
Luned comes back in
Then she comes back in, and Rhys assumes that she likes Spanish food;
"Guto said you're going to Tapas"
“Guto said you’re going to Tapas after your exams.”   She warns Guto to stop hassling her about Tapas, maintaining she cannot see further than her first exam at the moment, and Rhys agrees that the last thing she needs at this stage are distractions.
She marches out of the gym in disgust
She has now gone off the idea of the gym, and turns to go home,
"I think I've blown that!"
much to Guto’s disappointment.
"Everyone will stare at me"
Izzy proposes that they go to the Deri for a pint at the end of the week, but Mathew predicts that everyone will stare at him;  “If they do, just stick two fingers up at them!” says Izzy.
"Do you have to go?"
He thinks that he had better go now, so that she can settle in properly, but she does not want him to leave.
That was bound to happen . . .
They look at each other and inevitably kiss;
. . . but apparently Izzy had not planned it
without another word Mathew leaves the caravan and Izzy looks rather confused.
Dylan has a visitor at Tapas
Dylan has gone back to Tapas, and Daf comes up the stairs;
"Is it all there?"
he is handed an envelope, and asks if it is all there.
"Almost – I'm £5,000 short"
Dylan smiles and answers, “Almost – I’m £5,000 short.
"Someone let me down at the last minute"
“I tried my best, but someone let me down at the last minute.”
"Yes, I know how that feels!"
Daf confirms that he knows how that feels,
"Oh well, there we go.   See you around"
and nonchalently adds,“Oh well, there we go.   See you around.”
"I can find the rest – I just need more time!"
As he walks back down the stairs, Dylan promises, “I can find the rest – I just need more time – Daf, please!
