"Phone me, OK?"

Cai is walking past the surgery and trying to contact his daughter, Lleucu, on the phone;  “It’s Dad here – again – phone me, OK?”

"My head is all over the place"

Colin is just coming out of the MFC flat and says that his head is all over the place.   Cai knows how he feels;  “Kids!   How are things settling down with you and Britt?”

"She's still in Hywel's house"

Colin sighs, “They’re not really – I’m in the flat and she’s still in Hywel’s house.”

"I'm sorry for you, Col"

Cai is sorry for him, but as he walks away,

"Kylie – what are you doing here?"

Kylie appears.   “What are you doing here?” Colin demands.

She replies that she is there to see him

"Britt doesn't want any contact"

and he hurries her along the back street, in case Britt sees them.   He tries to explain that Britt does not want any contact with Kylie until they get the go-ahead to foster her properly.

"But I'm allowed to come and see you"

“But I’m allowed to come and see you,” she protests.   Colin reminds her what Britt is like, wanting to do everything by the book – but rather over the top.

"Do you fancy a meal in 'Tamed'?"

“Lucky for us, Britt’s working – so do you fancy a meal in ‘Tamed’?” he asks, “My treat!”

"Let me get this straight now"

At number 7, Kelly says, “Let me get this straight now – Diane thinks you gave her cold tea on purpose?”   Anita confirms that this is true, and Kelly demands, “Why would you do that?”

"The woman has lost the plot!"

Ieuan maintains that it is obvious that the woman has lost the plot and Anita thinks that she was also angry about Jason letting Kelly see Ifan so often.   “I’ve told Anita not to take any notice,” says Griffiths, but she replies that it is not easy when someone throws you out of the Antur in front of everyone.

"She did what?"

This comes as a surprise to Kelly;  “She did what?”   Ieuan also did not know that part of the story.

"Phone me when the film finishes, OK?"

Arwen is applying make-up and her mother warns her not to use too much;  “Phone me when the film finishes, OK?”   She is looking at the house details and continues,

"What do you think?"

Bwthyn Dedwydd [Happy Cottage] – what do you think?”

"It's a no-brainer, Mam!"

Arwen regards it as a no-brainer;  “Big garden, island in the kitchen, heating in the garage – so we can have parties, there’s a cycle path almost all the way to the village –

"Can you think of anything bad about it?"

“can you think of anything bad about it?   I can’t understand why you haven’t put in an offer already.”

Ffion answers that she just wants to make sure they are completely happy with the decision.

"I'm completely happy"

“I’m completely happy – so, are you going to put in an offer or not?” Arwen demands.

Then her phone sounds and she says that it is a message from Ethan;

"Remember to tell Rhys that I say hello!"

she has to go and will see her mother later.   “And remember to tell Rhys that I say hello!”

"I just miss you, Colin, that's all"

As they sit in the deli, Colin asks Kylie if she is sure that everything is all right and that there is no problem at the home.   She assures him that everything is fine;  she just misses him, that is all.

"I miss you too, love"

He agrees that he misses her, too.

“So why are you living in the MFC flat now?” she wants to know.   He says that it is only temporary;  he and Britt just need a bit of space – time to think.

"You haven't split up, have you?"

She is anxious that they have split up, but he is quick to deny that;  “No, we’ve just fallen out – but we’ll be all right, guaranteed!

"I wanted to apologise to you"

“Look, I wanted to apologise to you as well about everything that happened.   I’m so sorry.”

She insists that it was not Colin’s fault;

"How were you supposed to know she'd stab you?"

“How were you supposed to know your sister was going to stab you?”

He maintains that taking Kylie with him was stupid;

"I would never have forgiven myself"

he would never have forgiven himself if something had happened to her.

"But nothing did happen, Col"

“But nothing did happen – are you sure you and Britt are going to be OK?”

Colin tells her that he is sure, but the look on his face reveals some doubt about that.

"Time for action!"

Kelly comes into APD:  “You know what?   I’ve had enough of this – time for action!” she tells Jason, “Have you heard about the teacup fracas?”

"That's all I've been hearing about!"

He groans that it is all he has been hearing about.

“Auntie Anita is massively upset!” she continues, while Jason points out that she did not have to listen to his mother last night.

"I started to think Anita had poisoned her"

He was starting to think that Anita had poisoned her.

"Everyone's behaviour is totally unacceptable!"

“Everyone’s behaviour is totally unacceptable,” says Kelly, “So you invite Dai and Diane to lunch in the Deri – and I’ll invite Auntie Anita and Griffiths.”

Jason cannot believe that she is serious;

"We have to sort this out once and for all!"

“Yes – we have to sort this once and for all!” Kelly stresses.

"It's not us falling out for once"

Jason is glad that it is not them falling out for once, and informs her that everything will be all right.

Rhys is finalising a sale . . .

In the Tomos ac Ellis office Rhys is on the phone, finalising a deal;  “Glad to be of help,” he says.

. . . while Griffiths tidies the desk

Meanwhile Griffiths appears to be tidying up the desk, suspecting that there may be a buyer hovering around.   “I was confirming a sale,” Rhys announces,

"That's more important than a tidy office"

“I think that’s more important than a tidy office –

Bwthyn Dedwydd . . ."

Bwthyn Dedwydd.

". . . Rhys Llywelyn strikes again!"

“Rhys Llywelyn strikes again!”

Ffion comes in

The door opens and a rather excited Ffion enters;  “I’ve got good news for you –

"I want to make an offer on Bwthyn Dedwydd"

“I want to make an offer on Bwthyn Dedwydd.”

"Oh dear!"

At this Rhys’ face falls;  she urges him to try and look more enthusiastic, but he points out that there is a bit of a problem – he has just sold it.

"Why didn't you phone me?"

“Why didn’t you phone me?” she exclaims

"You couldn't afford that much"

and is informed that they offered £20,000 over the asking price, which Ffion could not afford.

"I'll take the flat to a different agent!"

She is understandably far from happy, and snarls, “You can stuff your mate’s rates – and I think I’ll take the flat to a different agent!   One I can trust!”

"Rhys Llywelyn strikes again!"

After she has stormed out, Griffiths sarcastically comments, “Rhys Llywelyn strikes again!”

The Deri is helping out MFC

The barman at the Deri supplies Britt with a couple of four-pint bottles of semi-skimmed milk, for which she is very grateful.

"I don't know if I'm coming or going!"

“I usually order enough, but I don’t know if I’m coming or going these days,” she complains.

Cai appreciates that a lot has been going on;  “Yes, thanks to Colin Evans!” she growls and Cai hopes that they sort things out soon, as Colin is a good bloke.

She has a phone call . . .

She has a call on her phone,

. . . then rushes out of the Deri . . .

which is so important that she rushes out of the Deri

. . . completely forgetting the milk

without the milk.

Ffion take a final look . . .

Ffion takes one last look at the house details,

. . . and then consigns it to the bin

screws up the paper and throws it into the bin.

She lets Rhys in

The buzzer sounds and she discovers that it is Rhys in a very apologetic mood.

"I'm sorry, Ffi!"

“I’m sorry, Ffi – if I’d known you were going to make an offer, I would have phoned you.   The thing is, work is so unpredictable I have to move quickly on any offers –

"Griffiths is always on my back!"

“and Griffiths is always on my back!   Do you forgive me?” he pleads.

"I wouldn't have been able to afford it"

“I suppose,” she answers, “You were right – I wouldn’t have been able to afford another £20,000.

"Arwen loved the place"

I’m just disappointed for Arwen – she loved the place.”

"Let me cook you a meal . . ."

Rhys promises to make it up to Arwen;  “And to you – let me cook you a meal.   It will give me a chance to apologise to you properly – and show you what else is on the market.   I want to cook for you –

He has all the necessary items

“and I’ve bought everything now.”   He shows her his bulging bag of ingredients.

"What's on the menu?"

“So what’s on the menu, then?” asks Ffion and is informed that it is Prawn Linguine –

"And garlic bread!"

and garlic bread, something which she obviously cannot resist.

That waitress is still bustling around

They finish their meal at the deli, which Kylie describes as, “Absolutely lush.”

"That fancy macaroni cheese is my favourite"

Colin says that the fancy macaroni cheese is his favourite, as that young waitress goes about her duties.   “Why didn’t we come here when I was staying with you?” she asks,

"It's better than some of he things you try to make"

“It’s loads better than some of the other things you try to make.”

"Well, you an blame Britt for that"

“Well, you can blame Britt for that – she insists on cooking in the house or getting food from MFC.   Between you and me, she thinks this place is a bit dear.”

"They'll be wondering where you are"

He thinks that Kylie should get going, or they will be starting to wonder where she is.

“It’s all right – I’m not under house arrest – I am allowed to be here,” she reassures him;  he is simply anxious that everything works out and she shares that hope.

"Thank you – that was lovely!"

When she has gone to visit the toilet, Colin compliments the waitress on the meal and then Britt comes rushing in;

"You need to come home right now!"

“Colin, you need to come home right now!” she exclaims, “Kylie’s social worker is on her way to talk to us –

"Not a word about not living at home, mind"

“so not a word about the fact you’re not living at home at the moment.”

"I have to pay the bill first"

He says that he will follow her in a minute when he has paid the bill;  “You’ll pay a fortune here!” she snarls, “Don’t be long –

"There's nothing wrong with my shirt"

and for heaven’s sake, change your shirt!”

Kelly orders the drinks

Kelly has brought Anita and Ieuan to the Deri and orders a bottle of Bordeaux at the bar, together with a mohito mocktail and a stiff vodka tonic.

"The Geneva Conventions were child's play"

She tells Cai, who is still at the bar, “Honestly, the Geneva Conventions were child’s play compared to reconciling Auntie Anita and Diane!”   He wishes her good luck and leaves, just as Dai and Diane are arriving with Jason.

"We have company"

Kelly announces to Anita that they have company;  “No, I’m not sharing the table with her!” Anita shouts.

"I'm not sharing a building with her!"

Diane goes one better;  “I’m not sharing a building with her!”   Dai is quite happy with that and proposes to go to the Bull instead, where he maintains they have better beer.

Jason prevents them from leaving

However Jason insists that no-one is going anywhere.

"We've had enough of this childish arguing!"

“We’ve had enough of all this childish arguing,” he goes on;  inevitably, Anita accuses Diane of starting it.

"We understand each other, don't we, Jase?"

Now Kelly points out that she and Jason understand each other;  “Don’t we, Jase?

"You're going to sit down like civilised people"

“So the rest of you are going to sit down like civilised people and sort this out!”

"All this falling out is upsetting Ifan!"

Both Anita and Diane are adamant that they will not sit down with each other, so Jason shouts, “All this falling out is upsetting Ifan terribly – now then, is that what you want?   Well?”

There is a temporary silence

The two ladies remain silent.

The sosial worker arrives . . .

The social worker arrives at number 21,

. . . and Colin makes the coffee

where the kettle has just boiled and she would prefer a coffee.   “Thanks for agreeing to meet at such short notice,” she begins, “Kylie is doing OK.”

"All we want os for her to be happyi

Britt points out that all they want is for her to be happy,

"She hasn't suffered, has she?"

“Isn’t it, Col” she shouts, as he is about to bring in the coffee.   “She hasn’t suffered after what happened, has she?”

"It might be possible for Kylie to return to you"

The social worker replies that she is a strong girl;  “The Agency is still assessing the situation very carefully and you will need confirmation from your social worker, but it might be possible for Kylie to return to you.”

"Seriously?"

They are very relieved to hear this and are informed, “Kylie insists that she was not put in any immediate danger.   She is very keen to come back here – if that’s allowed.

"She sees you as some kind of hero"

“To be honest, Kylie sees you, Colin, as some kind of hero –

"Me – a hero?"

“but, as I said, nothing is official yet.   From my point of view things are looking promising – the most important thing is that Kylie was very happy with you.   A stable home –that is what is important.”

"We're as solid as a rock!"

Britt replies that they are a very solid couple, “Aren’t we Col?”   He maintains that they are as solid as a rock.

"Well, that was lovely!"

When they finish their meal at Cysgod y Glyn, Ffion describes it as lovely;  Rhys thought she was going to lick the plate.   “Once someone thinks about moving, that’s it, isn’t it?

"I shall have to find somewhere soon"

“I shall have to find somewhere soon,” she tells him.

"Somewhere new has come on the market"

He informs her that somewhere new has just come on the market and finds the details on his phone;  “What do you think?”

"Deri Fawr – you're not serious?"

“Deri Fawr?” Ffion exclaims, “You’re not serious?”

"The price is very reasonable"

Rhys was not sure to start with, that points out there is plenty of room, it is close to the village and the price is very reasonable.

"I'm not a farmer . . ."

“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m not a farmer,” she replies.

“It’s only the farmhouse that’s for sale – I think the land belongs to some other farmer,” he tells her, but she cannot imagine herself living on a farm,

". . . and I'm scared of cows"

as she is scared of cows.

"It might be sheep"

“They won’t be in your garden – anyway, it might be sheep,” he says and she is sure that they would get into the garden.

He emphasises that it is worth thinking about;  “You would get a lot for your money –

"And I promise not to show anyone else"

“and I promise not to show it to anyone else until you get the chance to make an offer.”

The atmosphere has not changed much

The rather intransigent group in the Deri have finished their meal, which Kelly thought was very tasty.   Diane sneers that it was too oily for her and, after some thought,

"It didn't have enough oomph!"

Dai describes it as rather bland;  “It didnt have enough oomph!”

"It's not chilli if it hasn't got . . . chilli in it!"

Ieuan agrees with this evaluation;  “It’s not chilli if it hasn’t got . . . chilli in it.”

"How about pudding?"

There follows an awkward silence, so Kelly suggests they should have some pudding, but neither Anita nor Diane agree.

"I'm going to have apple tart"

Jason will have the apple tart and Kelly says, “Do you know what?

"Affogato!"

’I think Ill go for the special, the ‘affogato’ – you know, ice cream with espresso on the top.”

"Posh name for a cold coffee"

Dai is not impressed;  “That’s a posh name for a cold coffee,” he groans,

"Anita could make it!"

and Diane suggests that he could ask Anita to make it for him.

"You can't help yourself, can you?"

“You can’t help yourself, can you?” Anita growls and instructs Ieuan to say something;

"That was a little below the belt, Diane"

he maintains that Diane’s comment was a little ‘below the belt’.

“You’re good one to talk – dirty tactics are your style –

"Have you been giving Kelly tips on stealing from my son?"

“is it you who’s been giving Kelly tips on how to steal £50,000 from my son?” snarls Diane.

"Excuse me?"

“Excuse me!” shrieks Kelly and Anita insists that Diane is embarrassing herself now.

"Are you paying for his meal today?"

“Says the woman who’s going out with this clown!” is Diane’s riposte, “Are you paying for his meal today?”

This is the last straw for Anita

Anita has had enough of this and is not staying a moment longer.

As she goes, she informs Diane, “You’re no friend of mine –

"It's a shame you didn't choke on that tea!"

“it’s a shame you didn’t choke on that tea!”

Ieuan simply picks up his drink and remarks, “All this fuss over a cup of tea –

"It's a storm in a teacup!"

“it’s a storm in a teacup!”   He looks proud of himself thinking up that one.

Dai's short-lived amusement

Dai laughs, until he realises he is on the receiving end of Diane’s furious stare.

Anita cannot unlock the car . . .

Outside, Anita finds her car keys and cannot understand why the car will not unlock

. . . then realises it is the wrong car

until she realises that her car is the next one;

She gets into the correct one

she gets in and prepares to drive away.

They are enjoying their evening together

Ffion and Rhys are having a laugh on the sofa;  “You’d be amazed at what some people will do to sell a house,” he says,

"This is just like old times"

“This is just like old times, isn’t it?   You and me on the sofa.”

"Apart from the fact that Arwen's at the cinema"

“Apart from the fact that Arwen’s at the cinema with her boyfriend and not in her bed – it makes me feel old,” Ffion sighs.   Rhys maintains that she has not changed a bit,

"You have developed a few lines"

but does notice that she has developed a few lines.

A kiss is about to follow . . .

It appears that a kiss is imminent, but then footsteps can be heard on the stairs and Arwen is back unexpectedly.

. . . but Arwen returns

She explains that Ethan’s parents gave her a lift and is sorry for disturbing them.

"Rhys is just leaving"

“You didn’t – Rhys is just leaving,” her mother answers.

"So . . ?"

As soon as he has gone, Arwen wants to know all the details, but Ffion says that nothing happened.

Anita is driving

Anita is driving her car along a country road when her phone rings, so she stops to answer it.

Ieuan wants to know where she is

Ieuan demands, “Where are you?”   She replies that she was angry, so he says that he is starting to walk home and asks her to pick him up on the way.

"I'll be there in ten minutes"

She will be there in about ten minutes.   Even more angry, she resumes driving.

"I'll be in touch as soon as possible"

The social worker is about to leave number 21 and will be in touch as soon as possible.

"It looks like you'll be moving back here, then"

“It looks like you’re moving back in here, then,” Britt tells Colin, “I’d like that.

Colin does not look as keen

“I want us to have a fresh start, now that Kylie’s coming back.   The three amigos back together again?

"I don't want to ruin things again"

“Please, Col – we’ve been given another chance here – I don’t want to ruin things again.”

He agrees he will move back in

He agrees that he will move back in.

So this is Cai's daughter

A young girl, who appears to be Lleucu, is walking along the road;

She is going to listen to music

she puts in earphones to listen to music on her phone.

Anita approaches . . .

Along the road comes Anita in her car

. . . and is distracted by another call from Ieuan

and her phone rings again;

"I told you I was on my way!"

she looks down at it and snarls, “Ieuan – I’ve told you I was on my way!”

Suddenly there is a bang

There is a bang as the car hits the girl who was walking along the road.

Anita looks in the mirror . . .

Anita brakes sharply, looks in the rearview mirror,

. . . then drives away

then drives away.
