"Right, ladies, behave yourselves in the spa"

DJ tells Sioned and her mother, “Right, ladies, behave yourselves in the spa,” but Sioned points out that they are hardly likely to go wild in a spa.   

"I can't wait to have a massage, Mam!"

She cannot wait to have a massage, but has decided against the facial, as she does not want to come out in spots before the wedding.

"I'm looking forward to lying on the loungers"

Her mother is just looking forward to lying on the loungers for a couple of hours;  Sioned reminds DJ to tell Mathew he needs to pick up the rings, and the suits.   

"I'm sure you've put on a couple of pounds"

“Remember to try the suit on – I’m sure you’ve put on a couple of pounds lately, she adds, and they leave the farmhouse.

DJ listens for the sound of the car driving away . . .

The front door closes and DJ carefully checks that they have in fact gone, listening for the sound of the car, 

. . . then takes his bag from a cupboard

then opens a cupboard and takes out his bag;  he looks apprehensive.

"Another text from Mathew?"

At Llwyncelyn, Mathew has sent Izzy another text, and she tells her mother, “That’s the third message this morning.”   Gaynor urges her to answer him, as he obviously regrets what he has done.   

"He should be begging me to come home!"

“He should be on his knees, begging me to come home, then!” Izzy snarls, 

"He won't do that – he's a man"

but her mother predicts that he will not do that, as he is a man.

"But Mathew's different, Mam"

“Mathew’s different,” Izzy insists, something about which Gaynor is rather sceptical;  “Don’t compare me and Mathew with you and Hywel,” she complains, 

"You should try being honest some time"

“We understand each other – perhaps we have argued, but we’re honest with each other.   That’s the basis of a relationship – you should try it – you haven’t been honest with Hywel.”

"You didn't want me to tell him anything"

Gaynor protests that Izzy did not want her to say anything to him, and leaves the house, promising that she will be back at lunchtime, 

Izzy relaxes, as always

and warning Izzy not to make a mess.

Mathew is deliberating

Mathew is at APD, looking at his phone when Colin comes in;  

"What is it?   9-volt PP3?"

he has been given telephoned orders by Britt to get an alkaline battery, 9-volt PP3, and Mathew points them out on the shelf.   

"Right, I've got it, love"

“Right, I’ve got it now, love – I’ll be back straightaway, Colin tells her.”

"Seren's cry-baby has run out of batteries"

He reports that Seren’s cry-baby has run out of batteries;  “And now she’s crying her eyes out!   We had to look after the children without warning – Dani phoned Britt to ask if we’d look after them for a few days.   

"They were at the front door, in their pyjamas"

“Within two minutes they were at the front door, in their pyjamas.”

Colin pays £4.90, contactlessly

Mathew charges him £4.90 and wonders if Danny said where she was going, but apparently she did not say a word.   Colin heard that Izzy spent the night at Llwyncelyn, and asks if everything is alright with them;  

"Izzy thinks the world of you"

“She thinks the world of you – don’t stew over things – life’s much too short.”

He prepares to try and ring her again

Mathew is just getting out his phone again, when he hears a noise at the back of the shop, 

"What was that noise?"

but does not take much notice of it.

"If only she'd get in touch"

As Jaclyn does the washing-up, she frets, “If only she’d get in touch to say she’s all right.”   Gerwyn thinks that they should phone the police to report that she has gone missing;  Jaclyn reminds him that she is an adult, but he complains that she is not coming up with any ideas.

"Guto's just worried about Spanish lessons"

“Guto’s not here to help – he’s just worried about Spanish lessons!” Gerwyn continues, “I don’t think he cares whether Tesni comes home or not.”

"You threatened to throw Aled out"

“Her leaving isn’t his fault,” Jaclyn snarls, “You threatened to throw Aled out, and she blamed herself – that’s what Guto said.   I didn’t want you to quarrel with him, in case he left too.   We haven’t paid enough attention to him – he’s desperate to do this Spanish course, and it will cost a fortune!”

"I'll pay for the course, then!"

Gerwyn angrily replies, “I’ll pay for the course, then!   Now can we please do something about our missing daughter?”

"I've made you some lunch, Mam"

At Llwyncelyn, Izzy is preparing some lunch when her mother returns;  “I’ve made you some lunch, but I’m not hungry.”   Gaynor enquires if she has spoken to Mathew, 

"I shouldn't have to say anything"

but is told, “No – he’s hurt me, Mam – I shouldn’t have to say anything.   

"I saw Hywel – and he's angry with you . . ."

“I saw Hywel earlier – and he’s angry with you – something about a parcel you asked him to take to the post office.   

". . . he had to pay £6 postage"

“It wasn’t free returns, and he had to pay £6 postage – he’s left you the receipt.”

"You are happy with me staying, aren't you?"

Noticing her mother’s miserable look, Izzy goes on, “You are happy with me staying here, aren’t you?   You’re still not worrying about this Angharad business?”   

"I'm worried about you, Izzy"

Gaynor is trying not to think about it, but is worried about her daughter, 

"I'll be fine"

who seems confident that she will be fine.

Mathew detects something amiss . . .

When Mathew comes in through the back of APD, he notices that a biscuit has been dropped on the floor 

. . . biscuits have been pilfered

and realises that someone must be there;  he turns and, arming himself with a sweeping brush, 

"Come out, before I call the police!"

demands in a loud voice, “Right, whoever you are, come out now before I call the police!”

Tesni appears from her hiding place"

Tesni’s head appears from behind a pile of boxes, 

"Sorry, I was starving!"

and she sheepishly admits, “Sorry, I was starving!”   He is astonished to find that she has been squatting there, 

"Your parents are worried sick about you"

while her parents are worried sick about her.

“You must have seen the messages that are sending to everyone,” he says, but she had forgotten her phone charger. 

"For someone who wants to go AWOL, you're hopeless!"

“For someone who wants to go AWOL, you’re hopeless!” he groans.   

"I'm just hopeless, full stop!"

She is quite ready to confess that she is hopeless, full stop – with no job and no friends.   She just gets on everyone’s nerves.

He assures her that she does not get on his nerves;  “Yeah – that’s why you went off with Izzy!” she comments, sarcastically.   “Have you fallen out with her?   Sorry, I couldn’t help overhearing.”

"Izzy has walked out"

Mathew explains that things got heated between her and his father the other day;  she walked out.   “I should have supported her, because now she won’t answer her phone.”

“You really like her, don’t you?” Tesni smiles, and he reluctantly concedes that he does.   

"Go and talk to her, face-to-face"

“Go and talk to her, face-to-face – that’s much better than texting – it’s not too late.”   Mathew reminds her that it is not too late for her either.

"Making sure Hywel gets his £6 back?"

Seeing her mother using the laptop, Izzy remarks, “Making sure Hywel gets his £6 back, are you?” and is surprised by the answer that this is for her.

"I've put £10,000 into your account"

“I’ve just put £10,000 into your account,” says Gaynor, “I thought you might like to use it to go travelling again.”   When Izzy says that she does not have any plans to go travelling again, Gaynor adds, 

"Perhaps going away would do you good"

“I know, but perhaps this is your chance – things have been difficult for you lately, perhaps going away would do you some good.   Of course, you don’t have to take it.”

The thought of all that money excites Izzy 

As expected, Izzy is only too pleased to have that amount of money and thanks her mother;  “Right, I’m going to look at flights and sort some clothes out!” she says, as she hurries from the room, “With £10,000 in the bank, I can do whatever I like!”

DJ appears all ready to leave . . .

DJ appears ready to leave Penrhewl, and after a final look around, he picks up his bag;  

. . . but looks at this photo first

he notices the photo of him with Sioned and Eileen.   

"They look like wedding cards"

Then there is a knock at the door and Mark arrives with the post;  “They look like wedding cards,” he comments, “I didn’t realise you were so popular.”

"I'm leaving with Non – this afternoon"

“Yeah, well, I don’t need them now,” says DJ, “I’m leaving with Non – this afternoon – we’re going to Brecon.”   

Mark is very surprised to hear this;  “You said you thought the world of her – and it you’ve kept your word.   

"Does Sioned know?"

“Does Sioned know?”   DJ replies that she is not aware of his plan at the moment.

“I’m sorry about the way I talked to you on your stag night,” Mark apologises, “I accused you of using Non and obviously I was wrong.   Fair play to you for giving her a second chance after she left you before.”   

"Everyone deserves a second chance"

DJ maintains that everyone deserves a second chance.   

"I've lost count of how many of them I've had"

“I’ve lost count of how many of those I’ve had,” Mark laughs, “You’ve got guts – leaving Cwmderi – leaving all of this.   But there we go, you know when you find the right person.”

DJ doubts he has found the right person

DJ agrees with him in a rather unconvincing fashion, 

"Shall I take them away?"

and tells Mark to leave the cards on the table.   

"Good luck to you, mate!"

“Good luck to you!” says Mark as he leaves, 

DJ still finds it difficult to make up his mind . . .

and DJ looks pensive, 

. . . as he looks at the pile of cards

as he surveys the wedding cards

"I've decided to go travelling again"

In the Deri, Izzy tells her father that she has decided to go travelling again;  “I shouldn’t have come back here,” she explains, “I’ve had one thing after another go wrong and I haven’t settled here.”   

"You should give yourself some time"

Colin advises her to give herself some time and things will improve, but she goes on, “There’s no time – I’m leaving today.   I’ve packed – 

Izzy has it all planned

“I’ll go to London for a few days, then over to Amsterdam, and I can decide where to go from there.”

Colin points out that she cannot leave just like that, and wonders how long she will be gone;  

"You're not going to start stealing again?"

“Can you afford it?   You’re not going to start stealing again?” he demands, “I don’t want Interpol chasing you!”   

She does not reveal where the money came from

She comes up with the tale of having some money saved up, and will find some work as she goes.   He wonders if she wants to borrow some money, but she refuses his offer.

“Look, I’m sorry I haven’t been there for you over the last few months,” he says, but she is convinced that she is doing the right thing.   

"Do a course in an ashram somewhere"

“If you end up in India, perhaps I’ll join you,” he suggests, “Do a course in an ashram somewhere.”   Izzy is going to miss him, and he looks as if he is going to hug her, 

"No cwtches, or you'll start me off"

but she warns him, “No cwtches, or you’ll start me off.”   Colin says they can stay in touch by Skype, Facetime and Instagram, 

"Just enjoy yourself, Izzy"

and hopes that she enjoys herself.

"I was hoping Cassie would be here"

Elsewhere in the Deri, Ray sits down with Eifion, and was hoping that Cassie would be there;  

"Cassie – she'd eat you for breakfast!"

“She’d eat you for breakfast!” exclaims Eifion, then sees Izzy and starts stirring it.   

"Sorry to hear about your disastrous love life"

“I was sorry to hear about your disastrous love life.”

She informs Ray that Eifion’s love life has been pretty colourful;  

"He's free to do what he wants with women"

Ray maintains that he is single and free to do what he wants with women.   “And not just women, is it, Eifion?” Izzy continues, 

"You enjoy a bit of both, don't you, Eifion?"

“He likes men as well – you enjoy a bit of both, don’t you, Eifs?”

"The best thing Mathew did was to finish with her!"

Ray cannot imagine why she would say that;  “The best thing Mathew did was to finish with her!”   

Eifion feels a bot awkward

Eifion is looking rather worried.

Non is impatient

At Maes-y-Deri, Non is peering round the curtains for the arrival of DJ, 

DJ sneaks in through the back door

who slips in through the back way.   

"OK, I'm ready to go"

She picks up her bags, announcing that she is ready, but he does not appear particularly enthusiastic, 

"I can't!   I'm too scared!"

and says, “I can’t!   I’m too scared!”

"I'm not going to leave you"

Her expression changes, and she demands what is scaring him;  “I’m scared things will go wrong between us – that you’ll leave me,” he answers, but she tries to assure him that she is not going to leave him.   

"You've done it before"

He reminds her, “You’ve done it before – and you could do it again.”

"You think I don't mean it?"

She does not like being regarded as someone who changes their mind every second – that she does not mean it when she says she loves him, and is becoming angry.   “I thought we wanted the same thing!   Do you want to be safe with Sioned, instead of taking a risk with me?”

"It's not as simple as that"

He groans that it is not as simple as that, and she goes on, “Do you love Sioned more than you love me?   

"If there's a 'but', you're right to stay here!"

“If there’s a ‘but’ you’re right to stay here!   

"I'm truly sorry"

He says that he is sorry;  

"So am I – now go, will you?"

“So am I,” she snarls, “Now go, will you?”   He turns and leaves the way he came.

"Izzy's leaving"

Mathew goes to Llwyncelyn, where he is told, “Izzy’s gone back to the flat to pack the rest of her stuff – she’s leaving.”   He is shocked to hear this, 

"She's going travelling again"

and Gaynor explains, “She’s decided to go travelling again – she realised there was nothing to keep her here.   

"Perhaps she won't come back"

Then, betraying a note of optimism, she adds, “Perhaps she won’t come back.”   

Mathew is speechless

Stunned, Mathew walks out of the house.

Tesni arrives back home

Tesni returns to number 10, much to the surprise and delight of her parents, and lies that she has been to Cardiff;  “I wasn’t with Luned, but one of the girls I played netball with.”   

"You should have said where you were going"

Jaclyn complains that she should have told them where she was going, as the letter did not give any details.

"We've been very worried about you"

Gerwyn says that they have been very worried about her, and she maintains that she needed a break;  “Well, the important thing is that you’re home again – and safe,” he adds.   

"Creating hassle is all I do lately"

She is sorry to have created hassle for everyone, adding that is all she does lately.

"I'm as much to blame as anyone"

Her father admits that he is to blame as much as anyone, and Jaclyn tells her not to do it again, as they all love her – even Guto.   

Gerwyn and Jaclyn look at each other

She is going upstairs for a shower.

Izzy's keys are on the table

Mathew has hurried back to the shop flat and calls Izzy’s name, but then finds her keys on the table.   

"We've done a really good job on that extension"

His father comes in, boasting, “We’ve done a really good job on that extension today – we’ve dug a lot of footings.”

"Izzy's left . . ."

Mathew sits down and announces, “Izzy’s left,” a fact for which his father is very grateful.   

". . . she's left Cwmderi!"

“Not here – she’s left Cwmderi!” Mathew continues.

Ray’s reaction is, “Good riddance!   You should have heard the horrible things she said about Eifion!

"She said Eifion liked women and men!"

 She said he liked women and men equally – you know.   Said it in spite!”

"Eifion likes boys and girls"

Mathew points out that she was not lying;  “Whatever you think of Izzy, she was telling the truth – Eifion likes boys and girls.”   

"It isn't right – he wouldn't!"

Ray is insistent that cannot be true;  “It isn’t right – he wouldn’t!”

Mathew has other things on his mind at the moment;  “My girlfriend’s disappeared, and you’re just worried about who Eifion is sleeping with.”   Then his phone rings, and he finds that it is DJ;  

"Could I have a bit of privacy, Dad?"

he asks his father for bit of privacy.

DJ advises of his change of mind

“I’ve made up my mind,” says DJ, “So will you be my best man now?”   He is very relieved to hear that the answer is in the affirmative.   

They are back from the spa

Just as he ends the call, Sioned and her mother come back from the spa.   

"Look at these cards"

Sioned is very pleased to see the pile of cards on the table.

DJ asks if they enjoyed themselves;  “We had a lovely time – much better than getting drunk,” answers Sioned, “We haven’t stopped laughing – tell DJ about that bloke in the sauna,” she urges Eileen.

"He didn't have a stitch on!"

“He came in and took his towel off – he was sitting right opposite me!   He didn’t have a stitch on – I didn’t know where to look!   

They laugh about Eileen's experience

“There he was, sitting there, talking about the weather, and asking where we came from.”

"I'm a bit tired now"

DJ is asked how his day went, and replies that it was great, but he is a bit tired now;  

"Early night for you, then"

“It’s an early night for you, then,” Sioned advises.   

"She's so excited about being your wife"

Eileen tells him that she could not stop talking about him today;  she is so excited about being his wife.   

DJ simply smiles

DJ simply smiles.
