Tyler ignores Dani . . .

Dani comes out of the shop, carrying a one-pint bottle of milk, and sees Tyler, who ignores her, heading across to number 7.

. . . and then Aled

Aled is putting a sign outside the salon, and waves to Tyler, who just looks the other way and goes into the house.

"He's definitely back with Iolo"

“He’s definitely back with Iolo!” Aled exclaims, but Dani thinks that he would have told her;  “Can you talk to him – ask him to give me another chance?” he whines, and she agrees, but not now.

Tyler has brought provisions to keep Iolo going

Tyler has brought food for Iolo;  “A couple of things to keep you going – your favourite biscuits and a few other things.”

"I'm not your problem any more, Ty"

Iolo urges him to stop fussing and to leave it there;  “As I told you, I’m not your problem any more, so if you don’t mind – Tyler, just listen to me!

"Stop fussing and leave me alone!"

“Thank you for bringing those over, but just stop fussing and leave me alone!”

"If there's anything else I can do . . ."

As he leaves, Tyler assures him that if there is anything he can do . . .

Dani hears footsteps on the stairs and assumes that it is Tyler, but it is in fact Garry;

"Why are you here, Garry?"

“I wasn’t expecting to see you here,” she snarls, “Why are you here?”

"I hear Dylan has big plans for you both"

“I hear that Dylan has big plans for you both,” he grins,

"I shall be concentrating on Gwern, Seren and the baby"

but she replies that she is going to be concentrating on Gwern, Seren and the baby.

"If you have that baby . . ."

He gives her the news, “If you have that baby, you’ll never see Gwern and Seren ever again!   Because I’ll take them away from you.”

"No court is going to give you custody"

Amused, Dani tells him, “No court is going to give you custody,” but he points out that she has no rights over Gwern – she is not his mother.

"I've been more of a parent than you!"

“I’ve been more of a parent to him than you!” she growls, but he maintains that she lost any rights she had the minute she slept with Dylan.

"You're not having that baby!"

“You’re not having that baby and he’s not going near my children!” Garry goes on.   Dani reminds him that the days when he controlled what she did have gone, and she will do what she wants.

"Just listen to what I'm telling you!"

He moves closer to her and menacingly warns, “Just listen to what I’m telling you!”

"You're saying you'll take the children from me"

“So what you’re saying is, if I don’t have an abortion, you’re going to take the children from me,” she says,

"That is one option, yes"

and he concedes that it is one of his options, but when she demands what is the other option,

He walks out without another word

he simply leaves the flat.

"I'm going to make a healthy pizza tonight"

In the chip shop flat, Aaron announces that he is going to make a pizza tonight, but a healthy one;

"I had chips for lunch, anyway"

his mother welcomes this, as she had chips for lunch, anyway.

"What do you think of it?"

Then Colin comes in, dressed rather unconventionally;  “What do you think of it?   It came through the post today.”

"You're not going out, dressed like that?"

Britt hopes that he is not intending to go out looking like that, and he says that he has just worn them for the online yoga session.   “They were a hit with the . . . yogis.”

"Well, you look the part, Dad"

Aaron remarks that he does look the part, but Colin found the session rather disappointing;

"You have to put yourself 'in the zone'!"

“It wasn’t Jen, it was Liz – who is a bit miserable, you know.   You have to put yourself ‘in the zone’ – forget about everyone and everything outside the class bubble.”

Aaron suggests that he would make a good teacher, but Britt warns, “Don’t encourage him –

"I'm sorry he's started this yoga business"

I’m sorry he’s started this yoga business.  All he does is talk about lentils, healthy eating, and ‘downward facing dog’.”

"Yes, I'll come over now"

Her mobile phone sounds, and after a brief conversation, she says she has to go out.

"Why aren't you working?"

Tyler arrives in the Deri flat, and asks Dani why she is there and not working;  she answers that Aled is looking after the place, which Tyler thinks is not a good idea.   “I wanted to catch up with you anyway, because you haven’t been here much recently,” she says.

"Busy with Iolo, is it?"

He gives the excuse that he has been busy, and she continues, “Yes, with Iolo – are you back together?”

"I have spent some time with him"

Tyler explains that they have been spending some time together, that is all, and it is not a crime.   “Well, actually it is,” she advises,

"You've had your bit of fun with Aled"

“Because you’re playing with people’s feelings.   You’ve had your bit of fun with Aled, and now you miss the cosy life with Iolo.   You’re going to hurt them both while you decide what you want.

"When are you going to grow up?"

When are you going to grow up?”

"Iolo has found a lump in his chest"

Tyler advises that Iolo has found a lump in his chest.

"What's wrong, Garry?"

Britt has gone to number 7, as she has been summoned by Garry.   She demands what is wrong, and is told,

"Dani's pregnant – and Dylan is the father"

“Dani’s pregnant – and Dylan is the father.   They had a one night stand – Cassie phoned me while I was away to warn me that they were drinking champagne together in the Deri.”

"Were you in contact with Cassie the whole time"

Britt asks, “Were you in contact with Cassie the whole time you were away?” and he confirms that she was keeping an eye on things.   “Right – and I wasn’t?” Britt shouts.   He angrily exclaims that she should not have a go at him now.

"So that's why you're there so often"

“So that’s why you’re over there so often,” says Dani, and Tyler is upset that Iolo does not want his help and says that he can cope.   Tyler tells her that Iolo is waiting for scan,

"I'm trying to find the money"

but he is trying to find the money for him to have a scan privately, as he has some savings.

"Iolo has said he doesn't want help"

Dani points out that Iolo has said he does not want help, but Tyler is insistent, and urges Dani not to tell anyone.   Then she says that Aled wanted her to talk to him, but he stresses that will only complicate things,

"I've told him I don't want to be with him"

and in any case he has told Aled how he feels;  “That I don’t want to be with him.”

"One more thing – I'm pregnant with Dylan's baby"

“There was one more thing,” Dani adds, “I’m pregnant – it’s Dylan’s baby.”

"He thinks he's got the better of me"

Garry continues his explanation to Britt;  “He thinks that he’s got the better of me – but he hasn’t.”   She advises if Dani has decided to have the baby there is not a lot that he can do;

"You can't stop her having the baby"

he cannot stop her from having the baby.

Seeing the determined look on his face, she is becoming worried;

"Garry, there's nothing you can do!"

“Garry, there’s nothing you can do!” but he is adamant he will see about that.

"When the solicitor phoned about the divorce"

Dani continues, “Do you remember the night the solicitor phoned about the divorce?”   Tyler recalls that was the night they were both drinking champagne while he was babysitting.

"We're not in a relationship"

“We’re not in a relationship,” she goes on.

"No – you're just having his baby!"

“No – you’re just having his baby!” Tyler snarls, “Sorry I’m not jumping for joy and congratulating you – but he’s Aled’s father – you do remember that, don’t you?   And what will Garry say.”   She replies that Garry already knows.

Britt points out that he and Dani are over, so why should the baby matter;  Garry replies, “It would remind me of everything I’ve lost,” and she emphasises that this is not about him.

"She has to have an abortion!"

“She has to have an abortion!” he declares, and Britt replies that he cannot force her to do something like that – he has no right to do that.

"Don't do anything stupid, Gar!"

As she gets up and goes to the door she roars at him, “Don’t do anything stupid!   Wise up, right?”

"He says I'll regret it if I keep the baby"

Dani tells Tyler, “Yeah – he’s threatened me!   He says I’ll regret it if I keep the baby.”

"Garry's not wrong"

 Tyler considers that Garry is not wrong, and he cannot believe that she is considering keeping the baby, as this will affect them all.

"I'll never get rid of Aled then!"

“Aled will be the baby’s brother – I’ll never get rid of him then!” Tyler rages.

"I didn't realise this was all about you!"

Dani sarcastically thanks him for his support, having not realised that this is all about him.

Colin has a bit of light reading

Colin is reading a book about yoga and asks Britt where she has been;

"Garry's upset about Dani"

“Over with Garry – he’s upset about Dani,” she says,

"Well, he did run off with Jaclyn"

and Colin remarks that it was not that long ago that he ran off with Jaclyn.

"Dani's expecting Dylan's baby!"

She goes on, “Yeah, but listen to this – Dani’s expecting Dylan’s baby – and Garry is livid!”   Colin points out that Dani’s life is not any of his business any more – or of Britt’s.

"He's lost Jaclyn and now he's lost Dani"

She adds, “You don’t understand – he’s lost Jaclyn and now he’s lost Dani, and for some reason he blames Dylan.   There’s no telling what he’ll do.”

"Stay out of this, Britt, please!"

Colin pleads with her to stay out of this, but she maintains that she cannot, as he is her brother.   “You said you weren’t going to run after him any more and try to clear up his mess,” Colin sighs.

"Zone out and find the Zen?"

“What am I supposed to do, then, Col?   Zone out and find the Zen, and pretend everything will be all right?” she protests.   Colin does not want to be dragged into another mess that Garry Monk has created.

"How did it go, Dani?"

When Dani arrives back in the salon, Aled immediately wants to know how it went, and she is deliberately vague;  “You were over there for ages,” he says.

"He's not going to change his mind"

“He’s not back with Iolo, but he’s not going to change his mind,” she replies,

"Don't depend on anyone else to make you happy"

“A word of advice – don’t depend on anyone else to make you happy.”

"You've got Seren, Gwern and Tyler"

He points out that she can say that – she has got Seren, Gwern, and Tyler;  he has not got anyone.

"I have to go and see Tyler, now"

He decides that he has to go and see Tyler now, and marches out through the back door of the salon.

"Sorry about earlier, Tyler"

Iolo has gone over to the Deri flat to apologise for earlier, and has brought over the biscuits which Tyler gave him.

"How many times have you disinfected them?"

“How many times have you disinfected them?” Tyler jokes,

"I can pay for the initial consultation"

and adds that he has been looking at his savings and can pay for the initial consultation.   He can cut down on his spending if he has to.

"I don't want you spending your money"

Iolo is adamant that he does not want Tyler spending his money, but Tyler is sure that they can find ways of getting the money;

"You could ask your father and Anita to contribute"

“You could ask your father and Anita to contribute – or crowdfunding perhaps?”

"Stop – you're freaking me out!"

“Stop – you’re freaking me out!” Iolo answers, “We don’t even know if I have anything yet!” but Tyler just wants everything to be OK.

Aled comes face to face with Iolo

Then we hear footsteps on the stairs and Aled comes in, wanting to talk to Tyler,

"It's not convenient"

but is told that it is inconvenient.   He turns to Iolo;

"I know what you're trying to do!"

“I know what you’re trying to do!” he says, but Iolo calmly replies that he is not trying to do anything.    “You’re trying to come between us!” Aled rages, and Iolo leaves, despite Tyler’s protestations.

"I wanted to talk to Iolo"

“I wanted to talk to Iolo,” Tyler points out, and makes it abundantly clear once again that he does not love Aled;

"To be honest, I've never loved you!"

“And to be honest, I’ve never loved you – we were a mistake – end of!”   Aled goes.

Dylan is having a quiet drink

Downstairs at the bar Dylan is having a drink when Aled heads towards the door;  he asks what is wrong.

"I don't want to finish with him, Dad!"

“I thought if I could just talk to Tyler, everything would be all right – I don’t want to finish with him, Dad!”

Dylan checks to make sure no-one was listening

Dylan looks around nervously, and does not want to be called that, but Aled continues, “I need your help here!”

"I don't have time for this"

Dylan’s phone rings, and he says that he does not have time for this, wanting to know if Dani is upstairs.

"Yes, I can talk now"

He answers the phone, apologising that he has not rung back, and turns away from Aled,

Aled walk out

who leaves the Deri.

"Are you OK, Aled?"

Dani sees him in the street and asks if he is OK;  “Tyler doesn’t want me – he hates me!” is the anguished reply,

"My father doesn't even want me!"

“No-one wants me – my own father doesn’t even want me!”

"He'd be upset to see you like this"

Dani points out that Dylan just needs time, and would be upset to see him like this;

"I just saw him, and he doesn't want to know"

“That’s odd, because I just saw him, and he doesn’t want to know,” Aled answers, He told me not to call him ‘Dad’ – again!   He didn’t care that I was upset.”

"Why don't we go inside for a chat?"

Dani suggests that they go inside for a chat,

"That's not going to change things, is it?"

but he argues that is not going to change things, then Dylan appears on the scene, having been looking for Dani.

Dylan has a teddy bear for the baby

“I said I wanted to be there for the baby,” he reminds her, and is carrying a teddy bear.

"And what about Aled?"

“And what about Aled?   You just told him to get lost – that you don’t want to be his father!” says Dani,

"I can't deal with teenage angst"

and he comes up with some poor excuse about not knowing how to deal with teenage angst.

"So grow up and try!"

As Aled has been listening to this from the alley, she makes it very clear to Dylan, “So grow up and you try!”   He is sorry if he said the wrong thing, but she shouts, “Don’t say sorry to me – say sorry to him!   After everything you said yesterday, begging me – you’re not fit to be a father!

"Just go – and take that pathetic teddy with you!"

“Just go – and take that pathetic teddy with you!”

He flings it to the ground and walks away,

Then Dani returns to Aled

as Dani finds Aled in the alley;

"I must just accept that nobody wants me!"

“Perhaps I should just accept the fact that nobody wants me,” he groans, “That I’m on my own.”

"That's not true – you've got me"

She assures him that is not the case – he has got her.

"Having my boss say that doesn't help"

“Thanks, Dan, you’re lovely and everything – but having my boss say that doesn’t make me feel better.”

She adds that she is not just his boss, so he rephrases it;

"Who wasn't really my sister-in-law"

“An ex sister-in-law, who wasn’t really a sister-in-law in the first place.”

"I'm pregnant – with Dylan's baby"

She announces to him that she is pregnant, with Dylan’s baby;  “It doesn’t matter how you feel now – I’m telling you, I’ll always be here for you –

"We're family!"

“because we’re family!”

"You and Dad?"

He tries to get his head around the concept of her and his father,

"It was just one night"

as she explains it is not a relationship, but was just one night.

"You'll be like a stepmother to me"

“So you’ll be like a stepmother to me – and I’ll have a little brother or sister!”   Dani realises this is a lot to take in – and he is welcome to say how he feels, because everyone else has.

Garry witnesses the symbolic clasping of hands

“This is the best news I’ve ever heard, honestly!” he exclaims, as he and Dani hold hands, just as Garry happens to be passing across the street, by the cafĂ©.
