"Can I get you a doughnut, or decaf coffee?"

Next day, Aled asks Dani if she fancies something from the café;  “Doughnut, decaffeinated coffee?”   

"We must do some more marketing"

She refuses, but is of the opinion that they should do some more marketing.   He points out that the phone has been ringing all morning;   she says that the enquiries have not resulted in any bookings.

"Can you do your magic"

He volunteers to go round with more flyers, but Dani would prefer him to do his magic on the social media, and he agrees to sort this out.   

Dylan approaches again

Then Dylan comes along the road, 

"A year's supply of nappies?"

and she greets him, “What have you brought this time?   A cot, pram, a year’s supply of nappies?”   

"I've come to see my son, Dani"

He replies that he is not here to see her, but rather to see his son;  

"I've told him about the baby"

“He knows about the baby – I told him yesterday,” Dani informs him.

Dylan is full of apologies

When Aled comes out his father says, “I’m here to apologise to you about yesterday – you needed me and I wasn’t there for you.   As your father, I should do better.”   

Aled is doubtful about his sincerity

Aled is rather sceptical about this, as he is asked, “How do you fancy coming out with me tonight?   

"Just you and your old man"

“Just you and me – you and your old man.   A couple of pints, something to eat – we’ll go to a nightclub, if you want.”

Dani is amused by this

Dani is rather amused by this abrupt change of attitude;  “Don’t worry about money – I’ll pay for everything!” Dylan announces, “At the end of the day, we’re celebrating, aren’t we?   Do you think it will be a boy or a girl?”   He anticipates that they will find out during the scan, but Dani does not seem particularly enthusiastic about this.

Aled has permission to leave early

As they are not exactly busy, Dani says that Aled can finish early, and his father will see him in the Deri.   

"I know what you're doing, Dylan"

“I know what you’re doing,” she remarks, but Dylan maintains that he is trying to be a good father.   

Aled heads off to get changed

Aled hurries back to number 10 to get changed

"Are you going to bed, or have you just got up?"

Gerwyn has just returned home as Tesni comes downstairs, still in her dressing gown;  “Are you going to bed, or have you just got up?” he asks, 

"Dad's taxi is taking bookings"

“If you want to go out somewhere, Dad’s taxi is taking bookings.”

"I haven't got anyone to go out with"

She looks very depressed as she groans, “I haven’t got anyone to go out with – nobody likes me.   Aled doesn’t like me any more.”   

"I'm going out tonight"

At that moment he comes into the house, intending to have a shower, and announces that he is going out tonight.

Gerwyn suggests that Tesni can go with him, 

"I don't want Tesni spoiling it"

but he replies, “I’m going out with Dad – and I don’t want Tesni spoiling it by going on and on about herself.”   When she objects to this, Aled adds, “That’s what you always do!”

"There, told you so, Dad!"

She tells her father, “See – I told you so!” and retires to her bedroom.

Party signage

Hywel’s house is to be the scene for the stag party, 

"I've got things to do, boys"

although DJ pleads that he has got things to do;   “You’re not going anywhere – we’ve organised a stag party,” 

"We won't tie you naked to a tree!"

he is told, “Don’t worry, we won’t tie you naked to a tree!”   They have already checked with Sioned that he has not got anything to do, and have suitable garments provided as a tribute to the woman stupid enough to marry him.   

They even have Sioned masks

They have also made Sioned masks.

"I think Tesni's a bit depressed"

Later Gerwyn asks Jaclyn where Tesni is;  “I think she’s a bit depressed.”  

"That's nothing new, Dad!"

Guto comments that is nothing new, then asks his mother about the Spanish lessons;  

"I could go with you, Guto"

she suggests that she would like to go with him.

"The way he talked to Tesni earlier"

Gerwyn is muttering about the way Aled spoke to Tesni earlier;  “He wasn’t upset over Tyler at all,” he points out.   Guto tries once again to raise the matter of the Spanish lessons, remarking that Non thinks he is good enough for an advanced level.

"He's making it worse for her"

Gerwyn is still going on about Aled;  “He’s making things worse for her – rubbing it in that she’s lonely – we should ask him to move out.”   Guto’s phone sounds, and he finds a message.

There is no point in trying to say anything

However he cannot say anything about it, as his parents are arguing about Aled;  

"We can't throw my nephew out"

Jaclyn maintains that they cannot throw her nephew out, while Gerwyn informs her, “Your nephew is going out with Dylan tonight – if he turns out like him, he’s going to be trouble!”

Guto has had enough and leaves them to it

Guto gives up and leaves via the back door 

"Aled's been through enough!"

as his mother rages, “Aled’s been through enough, so he staying here!” and off she goes for her shift at the Deri.   

"Oh – he's gone!"

Gerwyn tells his son to go and ask Tesni what she wants to eat, but then finds that he is no longer there.

No, DJ does not compare with Sioned 

Having donned their costumes, Mathew comments that DJ makes an ugly woman, compared to Sioned, whereas Rhys boasts that he looks gorgeous.   

An apologetic text to Non

DJ sends a surreptitious text to Non, apologising that they cannot meet tonight, and Mathew shouts to him, “Stop texting Sioned!”   He is instructed that he is to do everything they say tonight, 

"I'm not going off with some stripper!"

but he protests that he is not going off with some stripper in town.   Mathew has ten questions about Sioned, but DJ is still looking at his phone.

Ffion has borrowed a textbook from school

At Cysgod y Glyn, Ffion has borrowed a book from Mrs Thomas at school;  “I asked her advice which book would be best for a Spanish learner – she hasn’t left me alone – 

"She thinks I want to learn"

“she thinks I want to learn!   She greets me in Spanish every time she sees me.”

Guto is very grateful, and she offers him a cup of tea;  

He asks for Ffion's advice

“I really wanted to ask your advice – Non’s suggested I do the higher Spanish course, but I don’t know what to do – it’s not the cost – I can tap Mam and Dad for that.   

"I can't concentrate at home"

“But it’s difficult at home just now – I can’t really concentrate, and I don’t want to do this course unless I can do it properly.”

"You can work here"

“You can work here,” Ffion volunteers, 

"We can go out and give you some peace"

“Arwen and I can go out sometimes so you can have some space.”   

"That would be great"

He says that would be great, and thanks her.

"You're a handsome bloke, just like your father!"

In the Deri, Dylan tells Aled not to worry about Tyler;  “You’re a handsome bloke, just like your father – you’ll find somebody else.   I know exactly how to cure a broken heart,” and he raises his glass.   

Down the hatch

They both down their drinks in one gulp, 

Then Dylan takes a selfie

and Dylan takes a selfie of them;  he will put it on Facebook.   

"What's going on?"

Jaclyn watches this display and is not exactly impressed, 

"Out for a session with the son!"

so Dylan explains, “Out for a session with the son!”   

"It's about time you took your responsibilities seriously!"

She reprimands him that it is time he took his responsibilities as a father seriously, and he replies, “I agree, now there’s a little brother or sister for Aled on the way!”

Jaclyn assumes that Sara is pregnant, but Dylan urges Aled to tell his sister;  

"We're not supposed to say anything"

“Everyone is going to find out – its best that we tell Auntie Jaclyn!”

"Dani 's pregnant with Dylan's baby"

Aled reluctantly tells Jaclyn that Dani is pregnant, and she is disgusted, insisting that he should have left Dani alone.   

"She doesn't need you!"

“She doesn’t need you!” she squeals, 

"I'm trying to shoulder my responsibilities"

but Dylan maintains that he is trying to shoulder his responsibilities as a father.

“I don’t care what you do – and don’t be late home tonight, Aled!” she rages as she walks away.

"Even when she's moody, she's still my sister!"

Dylan, presumably feeling the influence of the alcohol, shouts, “Even when she’s moody, she’s still my sister!”   Then he proposes getting a taxi, as there is no fun to be had in Cwmderi;  

"Ta-ra, Auntie Jacs!"

“Ta-ra, Auntie Jacs!”   

Jaclyn is concerned now

She looks very concerned about the boy.

Dani looks at the Facebook page

Upstairs in the flat, Dani is looking on the laptop, where is she sees on Facebook the photo of Dylan, allegedly bonding with his son.   

Has she been taken in by his ruse?

She appears to be taken in by this charade.

Tesni is dressed at last

At number 10, Tesni has taken a bottle of water from the fridge, 

"I ordered chicken and cashew nuts for you"

and when her brother comes in, tells him, “Dad’s gone to get a takeaway – I told him to get you chicken and cashew nuts.”   He reminds her that he does not like cashews, but she remarks that he was not here to order.

When she enquires about where he has been, he tells her to mind her own business;  

"I'm not having a good day"

“Don’t be like that,” she whines, “I’m not having a good day.”   

"You never have a good day"

He maintains that she never has a good day – there is always a crisis;  she is either sick or upset.   

He asks her to turn down the sound on the television, as he is trying to study his Spanish book.   

"Why don't you go somewhere else to do it?"

She tells him go somewhere else to do it.   “Do you always have to have your own way?” he demands, 

"Dad's throwing Aled out because of you"

“Dad’s going to throw Aled out because of you – he’s blaming Aled for your bad moods – ‘because Tesni is so sensitive.’   

This comes as a shock to Tesni . . .

And Mam and Dad are now arguing because of you – so, result!   I hope you’re happy!”   

. . . and she looks stunned

She looks stunned, turns off the television and rushes upstairs.

If it is disgusting, why does he drink it?

Now in the Deri, the three stag party participants are knocking back the alcohol;  “That’s disgusting – I don’t want another one!” says DJ, 

"You can't break the rules, DJ"

but is told that he cannot break the rules.

"Jason has to look after Ifan"

Mathew receives a text from Jason, who cannot come as he is looking after Ifan;  “That’s what you’ll be like – you won’t go out any more, with children running around, so make the most of your free time.”

"I'm not snogging anyone tonight!"

DJ makes it very clear that he is not snogging anyone tonight, and Mathew wonders how he managed to pull Sioned anyway;  

"Sioned is stunning!"

they agree that she is stunning, and ask what is DJ’s secret.   

"I don't have any secrets"

He guiltily replies that he does not have any secrets, but they are sure that he must be doing something to impress her.   “It is more than just being a nice bloke.”

He looks rather unsteady on his feet

DJ decides to go outside for some fresh air, 

"Don't you try sneaking home!"

but is warned, “Don’t try sneaking home, because we’ll find you.”   When he has gone, they think that it might be a good idea after all to tie him to a tree, but Mathew is not keen to see him naked, 

"It might be good for your best man's speech"

but Rhys says that it might be good for his best man speech.

"We could put a wig or a moustache on him"

“Well, he doesn’t have to be totally naked – we could put on wig on him or a moustache,” Mathew muses.   

Tesni is surprised by Mathew's appearance

He is looking at his phone when Tesni comes in, who is somewhat surprised by his costume, and he explains that it is DJ’s stag do.   

"Can't invite you to join us"

He would invite her to join them, but it is a stag do.

"I've popped in to see Mam"

Tesni has popped in to see her mother, then will be meeting a few friends in Swansea.   

"Guto says you're throwing Aled out"

She turns to Jaclyn;  “Guto says you’re throwing Aled out,” and it is confirmed 

"Your Dad said he upset you"

that her father wants him to find somewhere else to live, because he upset her.

Tesni explains, “He called me selfish!” but Jaclyn does not consider that sufficient reason to throw him out, pointing out that he has suffered enough, and she does not wanting to be homeless.   

"I don't want you and Dad arguing"

“I don’t want that –and I don’t want you and Dad arguing because of me either.” Tesni insists, “You don’t understand!” 

"I can't listen to this now"

but her mother is busy and does not want to listen to this now.

"We're having a quiet pint with DJ"

Mathew is speaking to someone on his phone;  “We’re having a quiet pint with DJ – then we’re going to Swansea in a taxi, have a curry, 

"Poppadoms and lime pickle"

“a few poppadoms, lime pickle – I’m the best man, aren’t I?   Love you!”

"You sound hammered!"

He asks Rhys if he sounded drunk, and the answer is, “Hammered!”   Mathew reports that Izzy is having problems with his father, but Rhys is determined he is going home to get some of Luned’s make up, so they can improve their looks.   

They assume that DJ will be in the chippy, 

Mark comes in for a pint

and as they leave, Mark arrives for a quiet pint.

"Oh good, you've got the Chinese"

Gerwyn returns home with the Chinese takeaway and Jaclyn follows him in, 

"They were dressed as Sioned!"

informing him that Mathew, Rhys and DJ were in the Deri, dressed as Sioned, and were on their way to Swansea.   “Tesni called in – she’s upset about Aled and says nobody understands her.”

She reads Tesni's note

Then she picks up a note which has been left and explains, “Mam and Dad, I don’t want to be a nuisance any more.   I don’t want to cause any more arguments.   

"She's gone away!"

“She’s gone away!”   

There is a stunned silence

There is a stunned silence.

DJ is not any more sober

When DJ staggers back into the Deri, he finds that his friends have gone;  Mark tells him that they will be back soon and do not want him to go anywhere.

"Aren't you ashamed of yourself?"

“Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?   Enjoying yourself like this?” he demands, 

"I didn't want a stag do"

and DJ replies that he did not want a stag do.   

"And that's why you're in a dress?"

“And that’s why you’re propping up the bar in a dress?” Mark continues, “It’s never anything to do with you – Non’s at home, waiting for you to phone – she’s breaking her heart.   “You can’t mess around with people’s feelings.”

DJ says that Non knows how he feels about her;  

"Do you love Sioned, too"

“And that’s why you’re marrying Sioned?” Mark suggests, “Do you love her too?”

There is a witness to DJ's words

At that moment the door opens and Mathew is listening to what DJ says next;  “Yes, I love Sioned – but I truly love Non as well!”   

"You can't marry two women, mate!"

Mark is sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but advises that he cannot marry two women.

"Tell Sioned the wedding's off before it's too late!"

“If you really love Non, tell Sioned the wedding is off before it’s too late!” Mark goes on, 

Mathew can hardly believe what he heard

and we see Mathew, in a state of shock, quietly going back out and closing the door behind him.
