as she is packing a bag at Cysgod y Glyn;

| She looks at some documents |
she puts on her coat and looks at some paperwork with a sigh.

| "Selling to Mathew is a mistake, and you know it!" |
Jason is once more on the phone to Dai in Australia; “Selling to Mathew is a mistake, and you know it!” he insists.
 |
| "I'm sure we could find someone better" |
Kelly walks in as he continues, “If you’d be willing to hold out for a little while longer, I’m sure we could find someone better.”
 |
| "I don't know someone better than Mathew!" |
What he does not know is that Mathew has just come in and is standing behind him, as he angrily tells Dai, “I don’t know – someone better than Mathew! Because he’s lazy to start with, he has no business sense – he’s stupid, lazy and clumsy!”

| "Jason!" |
Meanwhile, Kelly has been trying to attract his attention, but without success;

| "You usually say these things!" |
“Why are you shouting at me, Dai? You usually say these things!” points out Jason,
 |
| "Is that Dai?" |
as he turns round; he sees who is standing there, and he suddenly goes quiet.
“Is that Dai?” Mathew quietly asks,
 |
| "I don't have enough business sense!" |
“Tell him I’ve changed my mind – because I don’t have enough business sense!” He immediately storms out of APD, informing Jason, “I don’t want to work for a company that thinks I’m lazy, stupid and clumsy! Stuff your share and stuff your job!”

| "You've really done it this time, Jase" |
Despite Jason shouting after him, he will not change his mind, and Kelly considers that Jason has really put his foot in it this time.

| Iolo has a phone call from Anita . . . |
 |
| . . . proposing a birthday party for Greta |
“I’ve been thinking about Greta – I thought we could have a surprise birthday party for her,” she says.
 |
| "Her birthday's in July" |
Iolo points out the indisputable fact that Greta’s birthday is in July, but this does not deter Anita.
 |
| But when Anita gets an idea into her head . . . |
“I know that, but it was during lockdown – I was thinking it would be nice to make up for the fact we missed it. January is such a dismal month.”
 |
| "Are you still there, Iolo?" |
 |
| "Every little girl wants a fuss on her birthday" |
As usual, Anita will not stand for any opposition; “Every little girl wants a fuss on their birthday,” and is not put off when Iolo again reminds her that Greta’s birthday is in July. “It will only be a small gathering in Y Felin,” she emphasises, “It will do us good to have a bit of fun – something to look forward to – I’m sure Greta will love it!”

| Nothing Iolo can do will stop her |
Iolo assures her that there is no need to go to such fuss, but she insists that it will be no fuss; “Have you got a pencil and paper? You’ve got a lot of shopping to do!” she instructs him. He cannot believe he is hearing this.

| "What are you doing home, Math?" |
 |
| "He can't sit on the sofa all day!" |
“He can’t sit on the sofa all day!” she declares.
Mathew says that he will probably join his cousin; “I’ve had enough of being treated like an idiot!”

| "Is there any more toothpaste?" |
Eifion interrupts them, enquiring if they have any more toothpaste.
 |
| "How about going out to buy some?" |
Izzy snarls that it is under the sink, and suggests that he might buy some.
“I take it that Dai and Diane have refused your offer?” Eifion gloats, “For their share in APD.” Izzy is furious that she did not know anything about this, as he goes on, “They want more money, do they?” He realises he has touched a nerve and leaves the room.

Mathew explains that he intended to put in an offer to buy Dai’s and Diane’s share of the company; “But I’m not sure if I want to do it now.”

| "Why talk to Eifion instead of me?" |

| He continues with his tea |
he continues making his cup of tea.

| Luned argues she was not drunk |
By the alley, Luned is insisting that she was not that drunk, but Rhys reminds her that she could not walk. She still maintains that she was more sober than he was.

| "Who tried to hug the bouncer?" |
“Who was it who tried to hug the bouncer at the end of the night?” he asks,
 |
| Ffion approaches . . . |
as Ffion approaches,

| . . . and carefully avoids them . . . |
and crosses the road to avoid them.
Luned describes that bouncer as, “Big and cwtchy!”
 |
| . . . which Rhys finds concerning |
but Rhys is concerned about Ffion. “Charming!” comments Luned, “What’s wrong with her?
 |
| "I bet she's started drinking again." |
“She looked rough – I bet she’s started drinking again.”
 |
| He suspects the same thing |
Rhys is afraid that she may be right.
 |
| "I'm sorry I didn't tell you" |
 |
| "In case some gold-digger takes advantage of you" |
in case some gold-digger takes advantage of him.
 |
| "I wanted you to think I was successful" |
He points out that it was supposed to be a surprise; “I wanted you to think I’m successful, instead of not doing anything with my life.”

| She says she would never doubt him |
She says that she would never think that that of him. He goes on, “The fact that Jason’s against it has made me doubt the idea – I could do with a bit of advice.”
She enquires how much Dai and Diane want and is told, “£280,000 for 66% of the company. I can borrow the balance from the bank, but that’s a bit risky.”

| "Have you seen the size of their house?" |
She does not consider that any risk, asking if he has seen the size of their house; “I think it would be worth it,” but he is still undecided.
She predicts that Jason will come round, but he stresses that he is not the only problem; “I like the idea of being on my own boss, but that’s a responsibility, too.

| "Perhaps I should buy a house instead" |
“Perhaps I should buy a house instead.”
Izzy says that he can buy a house any time, but he does not get opportunities like this often. “So accept the offer before they change their minds.”

| Eifion is, as usual, taking it easy |
Eifion comes in and immediately slumps on the sofa; “Are you going to look for a job today?” Izzy asks him,
 |
| "There's a recession – no jobs" |
but he reminds her that they are in a recession – there are no jobs. “So you’re just going to sit on the sofa all day?” she demands.
Eifion maintains, “I don’t enjoy this – I’d prefer to be out there, working. So I can either sit here watching telly, or drink all day. You decide which you prefer.” Mathew has meanwhile been doing some thinking.

| APD's phone rings, unanswered . . . |
The phone rings on the counter at APD,

| . . . and Jason just looks at it |
but Jason simply sits and ignores it;

| "Why aren't you answering that?" |
when Kelly comes in, bringing two coffees, she wants to know why he is not answering it.
 |
| "I'm pretty sure it's Dai" |
“Because I’m pretty sure it’s Dai, and all he wants to do is shout at me!” is the reply.
 |
| "You're being a real prat abut this, Jase!" |
Kelly’s summary of the situation is, “You’re being a real prat about this!” He insists that Matthew is not fit to run their business.
 |
| "Now Mathew's interested – and you're dead against it!" |
She responds, “A few weeks ago you were trying to sell Dai’s and Diane’s share to any Tom, Dick or Harry – and now Mathew’s interested – oh, no, you’re dead against it!”
He wants to get away and gives the excuse that he has pallets to unload.

| "You're going to tell me exactly what's going on" |
She takes a deep breath, and instructs him, “Jason, you’re going to stay here, and you’re going to tell me exactly what’s going on.”

| Jason will comply with her instruction |
He will do as he is told.
 |
| Luned goes on about her photos . . . |
Luned is going through their holiday photos and criticising various of them,
 |
| . . . and Rhys shows little interest |
but Rhys appears to be totally disinterested; “That one’s OK, if I can crop that bloke out,” she says and he mumbles his agreement. “This one’s sexy – but is it too sexy?” she wonders, “I don’t want people to think I’m trying too hard.”

| "Do you think she's drinking again?" |
Then, as expected, we find that his preoccupation is with Ffion; “Do you think she’s drinking again? That’s what you said earlier – have you seen her drinking or something?”
Luned has no such evidence, but considers, “It’s bound to happen eventually –

| "She's single, middle-aged, with a child" |
“she’s a single, middle-aged, deputy headteacher with a child – I’d want a drink too.” Then she returns to the critique of her photos,

| Rhys is worried |

| "He's inexperienced, Kelly" |
“Mathew is lazy – and you can’t argue with the fact that he’s inexperienced,” Jason explains.
 |
| "If he's that awful, why is he working here?" |
Kelly wonders, if he is that awful, why he is working there. He concedes, “Mathew is lovely, all right – don’t get me wrong – and you’ll get a lot of work out of him, if you keep an eye on him.
 |
| "I just don't see him as my boss" |
“I just don’t see him as my boss.”
Kelly suggests that is because Mathew is younger than him, and Jason complains, “He hasn’t had to work at all for that money – he’s had it all on a plate!”
 |
| "Things have been hard for you . . ." |
 |
| ". . . but your Mam bailed you out!" |
“But your mother’s bailed you out! You’ve got your share in APD, you’ve got a supportive family – and you’ve got me! Things could be a lot worse. I know this isn’t how you expected things to be, right? But there’s not a lot you can do – and I think having Mathew buying into APD is a good idea.”

| "I'd better get used to a boss who's younger than me" |
“Well, I’d better get used to having a boss who’s younger than me,” he concedes, and she points out that boss is a big word.
Kelly reminds him, “Dai thought he was the boss –

| "We all know who was pulling the strings, don't we?" |
“but we all know who was pulling the strings, don’t we? Your Mam. Mathew’s all right, you know – it couldn’t be worse than working for Dai.”

| Jason has seen sense |
She has been been successful in persuading Jason.
 |
| "Have you got a banner – hats – mini sausages?" |
Iolo is round at Y Felin, and Anita asks if he got the banner; when he produces it, she complains, “Didn’t they have a Welsh one? Hats? Mini sausages? Do you think I should make two types of jelly? Not everybody likes strawberry.”
 |
| "I'm sure we can live with one jelly" |
Iolo is sure that they can live with one jelly, as they will be just him and Greta, his father and Anita.
 |
| "Oh no – Tyler and Aled, too!" |
This is where he gets a surprise; “And Tyler and Aled!” she announces, “They think it’s a great idea.” Iolo had been under the impression that they would be the only ones there, but she insists that she had to ask Tyler, “He took it for granted that Aled was also invited – it’s not a problem, is it?”

| "I don't want to be in their company" |
“Of course it is – I don’t want to be in their company,” complains Iolo, but she says she cannot ‘uninvite’ them now. “Right, OK, I won’t be there,” he decides, and Anita makes a great commotion about him missing his own daughter’s birthday party.”

| "It's not her birthday! How many times?" |
He angrily shouts, “It’s not her birthday! How many times do I have to tell you?” and he storms out of the house.

| Rhys has been watching out for Ffion |
Later in the day Ffion is heading towards Cysgod y Glyn, when she is spotted by Rhys;

| She is about to open the door . . . |
as she fumbles with her keys,

| . . . but drops her keys |
she drops them on the ground, leading him to suspect that all is not well.
 |
| "Ffion, can I come in?" |
He asks if he can come in.
 |
| "Everything will be OK, Jase" |
Jason is sitting in the Deri, as Kelly brings over the drinks and reassures him that everything will be OK.
 |
| "I got your text" |
Then Mathew arrives, acknowledging that he got the text.
 |
| Jason hesitates . . . |
As Jason does not seem to want to say anything,
 |
| . . . so Kelly asks of Mathew is still interested |
Kelly does the talking; “Math, are you still interested in buying Dai’s and Diane’s share of APD?”
 |
| "If everybody is happy about it" |
He confirms that he is, but only if everybody is happy about it.
 |
| "I recommended they accept your offer" |
Jason says that he has been on the phone to his mother and Dai; “And I recommended that they accept your offer.”
Kelly continues to prompt him; “And it would be an honour to have you as a business partner.”
 |
| "You won't regret this, Jason!" |
Mathew is very pleased to hear this, and assures him that he will not regret it. Kelly congratulates them,
 |
| Izzy will get a bottle of champagne |
and Izzy, who is by the bar, will buy a bottle of champagne to celebrate.
 |
| Mathew does not look exactly calm |
Mathew urges her to calm down, as he has just spent a quarter of a million pounds; “It’s not every day you become the boss of your own company,” she encourages him. Kelly winks at Jason.
 |
| "On the way to rehab, were you?" |
At Cysgod y Glyn, Rhys asks Ffion where she was going today, and she is initially secretive; “Are you drinking again? On the way to rehab, were you?” he demands, which makes her furious. “I saw the bag . . .”
 |
| "That was the first thing that come into your mind!" |
She rages, “And that was the first thing that came into your mind!
 |
| "I was on my way to court" |
“If you really want to know, I was on my way to court – it was my drink-driving hearing. I lost my licence for three years – I should be grateful – the judge said I was this close to being sent to jail,
 |
| "Because I'm a single mother" |
“but he felt sorry for me because I’m a single mother.
 |
| "I don't know what to say, Ffi" |
He sits down and does not know what to say;
 |
| "If we were still together, I'd be on my way to jail" |
she remarks, “It feels strange – if we were still together, I’d be on my way to jail now, so I should be thanking you.”
 |
| "I'm sorry you had to go through it alone" |
He is sorry that she had to go through it alone, but she replies that she is used to it by now.
 |
| "I wasn't thinking straight, Iolo" |
Anita, in apologetic mood, goes to see Iolo at number 7; she alleges that she was not thinking straight.
 |
| "You were trying to do something nice for Greta" |
 |
| "You'll have to face them one day" |
She appreciates that it is hard, but he will have to face them one day – there will be a lot of parties and other things.
“Yes, but I hoped that I could avoid them for as long as possible,” he explains,
 |
| "Offering cakes to the bloke who stole my husband" |
“I hate the idea of having to be nice, and offering cakes to the bloke who stole my husband.” Anita will understand if he is not there, but is sure that Greta will be disappointed.
 |
| She hopes she has persuaded him |
He will see whether or not he comes.
 |
| "Though it makes us feel awful, we still do it" |
Jason does not want any more bubbly, as he is suffering from heartburn; “Even though we know it makes us feel awful, we still do it.”
 |
| "Remember, you've got all the experience" |
She reminds him that she meant what she said – although Mathew has the biggest share of the business, Jason has all the experience, so he will be the real boss.
Izzy is anxious to find out how long it will take for things to officially change hands; he estimates that will be a couple of weeks.
 |
| "I've got loads of ideas for the business!" |
“Great – I’ve got loads of ideas for the business – you could sell plants, and make the place greener – get rid of those tatty fleeces.
 |
| "And the name will have to be changed" |
“And the name will have to be changed.”
 |
| "Oh – celebrating, are we?" |
Kelly tells Jason that they are going home now, and just then Eifion comes in and notices the champagne; he assumes that Mathew has bought the shares. “Good, you can buy me a pint, then,” he says.
 |
| Kelly is ready to go home |
As Kelly is putting on her coat,
 |
| "How would you like to work for me, Eifion?" |
Mathew tells his cousin, “I can do better than that – how would you like to work for me?”
 |
| "Discuss it with your business partner first" |
Kelly interrupts to suggest that Mathew ought to discuss it with his business partner first,
 |
| "He is the majority stakeholder" |
but Jason acknowledges that Mathew is the majority stakeholder, and can employ who he likes.
Eifion predicts that they are going to have such a laugh, which does not exactly fill Jason with confidence.
 |
| "Val would take Arwen – that's worse than jail! |
“I’ve been hiding my head in the sand for weeks,” Ffion confesses, “I couldn’t accept there was a chance I could go to jail. Val would have taken Arwen – which is worse than going to jail!”
 |
| "You should have asked me for help" |
Rhys rebukes her for not asking for his help,
 |
| "I'm sure your girlfriend would have loved that!" |
but she comments, “I’m sure your girlfriend would have loved that!”
 |
| "I'm glad the judge gave you another chance" |
He is glad that the judge gave her another chance, but she recognises the fact that she did not deserve it; “It’s true – I’ve wasted so many second chances! Why will things be different this time?”
 |
| Rhys grasps her hand |
He comes to sit closer to her, and takes her hand; “You’re going to get through this,” he encourages her.
 |
| "The number of people who have said that" |
“You wouldn’t believe how many people have held my hand and said the same, over the years,” she tells him, “And I’ve let them all down.” He points out that she still there, and she groans, “But everyone’s lives would be easier if I wasn’t.”
 |
| Rhys sits beside Ffion |
He moves to sit beside her, urging her not to say that.
 |
| "But I'm pathetic" |
“But I’m pathetic,” she groans, and he challenges this.
 |
| She is enfolded in an embrace . . . |
He takes her in his arms,
 |
| . . . followed by a kiss (even in these socially distanced times) |
they look into each others eyes, then kiss.
 |
| Ffion is taken aback by this . . . |
He immediately apologises, then rushes out of the flat,
 |
| . . . but Rhys hurries away |
leaving Ffion very confused.
