"I'm sorry for getting you into trouble, Tes"

Aled has gone to number 10, where Tesni apologises profusely for what happened;  “No, I should be sorry for getting you into trouble,” he replies, and he gives her back the keys.

"Dad overreacted, as usual"

“Dad overreacted, as usual,” she moans, and he says that Tyler is scared to come out.   Tesni cannot stand much more of this, but he has been thinking of a solution.

"Perhaps we can find a flat together"

“If you’re serious about moving out, perhaps we can find a flat together,” he suggests, and she is very receptive to this idea.   “Well, find a job, then,” he urges her, “A real one!”   

Tesni disregards this instruction

She has just found a written note on the table, instructing her to apologise to her father, and she immediately screws it up, 

Off they go to the café 

proposing that they go to the café.

"I have nothing to say to you, Hywel"

At Llwyncelyn, the back door opens and Hywel comes creeping in;  Gaynor makes it quite clear, “I have nothing to say to you.”   

"I really regret what I've done"

He says that if she will not answer the phone, he has no choice but to come there;  “Gaynor, I really regret what I’ve done – I’ll do anything to save this relationship,” he pleads, 

"I've heard that one before!"

but she has heard all this before.   He volunteers, “I’ll go and talk to someone.”

“Yes, that’s a good idea – go and see someone, because you’re good at talking, Hywel!” she sneers.   

"I told you, nothing physical happened"

Again he insists that nothing physical happened, 

"I'm not going over all that again!"

but she cannot be bothered to go over all this again, and tells him to go away.

"We're going to Croatia"

“We have things to sort out – we’re going to Croatia,” he points out;  

"You should have thought about that, Hywel!"

she remarks that he should have thought about that, and just wants to be rid of him.   She walks out of the room and goes upstairs, 

That did not go very well

and he leaves the way he came.

Mathew is counting the bags of cement

Round the back of APD, Mathew is counting bags of cement, but Jason shouts at him to take them inside before people help themselves.   Then Dylan comes round the corner;  

"What does he want now?"

“What does he want now?” Jason growls, and Mathew suggests that he may want building materials.

"I want to buy the job lot"

“And you’re right,” Dylan tells them, “To be honest, I want to buy the job lot.”   Mathew cannot believe that he wants to buy APD, and Dylan describes it as, “A successful business in a good location – why wouldn’t I want it?   

"There's no place for emotion in business"

“I know it’s awkward, Jason – I’m about to marry your ex – but there’s no place for emotion in business.”

Jason knows exactly what he is after

Jason has him sussed out;  “Did Sara send you down here to do some fishing?   To see how much money she can fleece me for in the divorce?   I’ll tell you what – I’ll fetch the books now – how would that suit you?”

"Do you really think I'd go to such trouble?"

“Do you really think I’d go to such trouble, and put on a show just to get the business’s books?” Dylan demands, 

"Yes, Dylan!"

and Jason knows without any hesitation the answer to that – yes.

"Perhaps I should buy that shop in Llanarthur instead!"

“Perhaps I should buy that shop in Llanarthur instead, then!” says Dylan in mock outrage, and walks away.   Jason is pleased to see the back of him.   

Mathew is thinking

However, it appears Mathew is doing some serious thinking about the sale of APD.

"Have you heard about Tyler, then?"

Colin comes out of the shop, whistling cheerily, as Gaynor strides out of the alley;  he asks, “Have you heard about Tyler, then?   He was thrown out on to the street after being caught at number 10 with his new boyfriend!”

Gaynor is rather disinterested

Gaynor does not care, as she has not had her coffee, because there was no milk at home.   

"This is more than a lack of caffeine"

Colin is not satisfied with this explanation;  “Whoa, now – this is more than just a lack of caffeine,” he tells her, and at that moment, Lisa passes them.

"I know what you've been doing!"

“Well, you’ve got a nerve!” Gaynor exclaims, “I know what you’ve been doing!”   

"I'm pleased to hear it"

Lisa is pleased to hear it, maintaining that it is important to be open in a healthy relationship.

"He regrets wasting money on a slapper like you!"

Colin is taking an interest in this conversation as it continues;  “You’re right, Lisa, and Hywel has told me everything.   You know what – he regrets wasting his money on a slapper like you!”

“That’s what they all say when they get caught,” comments Lisa, smiling.

Gaynor warns her, “Staying out of my way would be best for you!”   

"I feel a lot better now, Colin"

Then she informs Colin that she feels a lot better now.

"Well, well, well, you're back on the game"

After Gaynor has gone, Colin says, “Well, well, well – you’re back on the game – and Hywel Llywelyn is one of your punters!”   She wonders why he is showing such interest, 

"You were one of my regulars"

and will be able to find him a slot, as he was one of her regulars, but he protests, 

"It wasn't like that, was it?"

“It wasn’t like that, was it?   And anyway, things are different now – I’m a married man!”

"Believe me, they're the worst!"

“Believe me, they’re the worst!” Lisa informs him, adding, “If you change your mind, give me a call.”   

Colin is seriously affronted

He looks shocked at the very suggestion.

"is Hywel around?"

Gaynor has gone to Hywel’s house, next door to the Deri, to see him, 

"I heard you were considering selling Llwyncelyn"

and Sara mentions that he said she was considering selling Llwyncelyn.   Gaynor fancies a plot by the sea somewhere, which Sara thinks sounds a lovely idea.

“I’ve got an appointment at Tomos ac Ellis, once I get back from Croatia,” Gaynor continues, and Sara hopes that she enjoys her holiday.   

"So you are going, then, are you?"

By now Hywel has come back into the house and asks, “So you are going, then, are you?”   Gaynor intends to book a hotel near the airport for tonight, and will be leaving this afternoon.

"You'd better hurry, if you're coming!"

Hywel looks suitably penitent, but then is surprised by her next words;  “You’d better hurry, if you’re coming!   You’ve got a lot of packing to do.”   

He was not expecting that

He is absolutely amazed and delighted by this sudden – and totally unexpected – change of mind.

Dylan tries to get one over on DJ

At Bryntirion, Dylan comes swaggering in and announces to DJ, “Your father sent to me to get APD’s books.”   DJ’s puzzled look is greeted with the quip, “I fancy a game of Sudoku!” 

"The business is for sale, isn't it?"

Then Dylan goes on, more seriously, “The business is for sale, isn’t it?”   DJ is quite convinced that they would not sell to him, but he is told that he is wrong;  “Dai and Diane are desperate to retire, and thanks to Jason, they have lost a sale.”

"So Dad will know what you're talking about?"

“So if I phone Dad now, he’ll know exactly what you’re talking about?” DJ says, suspiciously.

"I'll phone your superintendent . . ."

“While you do that, I’ll phone your superintendent and tell him how you left a man who was half dead at the side of the road,” threatens Dylan.   

"I tried to help you"

DJ points out, “I tried to help you, and almost took you to hospital,” but is reminded that he did not take him, so that Dylan has the advantage over him.

Tesni needs more money, fast

Tesni visits Lisa at number 9, requiring, “More money – fast!”   but is told that Lisa does not give subs.   “More work, I mean,” Tesni goes on, “I have to move out – Dad makes a big deal out of everything – I can’t stand another week in that place.”

"If you're willing to take risks"

“Well, there’s very easy way to make more money,” Lisa replies, “If you’re willing to take risks.”   

Tesni needs further explanation

Tesni looks somewhat puzzled.

"So the money is in the account now?"

Mathew is checking on his phone, “So the money is in the account and ready to go now?   That’s good news – thanks for phoning!”   

"Glad one of us has something to smile about"

Jason has just emerged from APD and is glad that one of them has something to smile about.   

"Things are looking up"

Mathew tells him that things are looking up.

DJ has unwelcome news

Then DJ arrives, looking grim;  

"I think I've done something stupid"

“I think I’ve done something stupid,” he groans, 

Jason looks a trifle disgruntled

and Jason does not look at all happy.

"He handed over the books with no quibble"

Sara and Dylan come into the café;  Sara is surprised that DJ just handed over the books with no quibble.   “I think he was afraid of getting a mouthful from Dai,” is Dylan’s reply, “Dai and Diane are desperate to sell.”

"I want to estimate how much I'll get from Jason"

She can understand that they want to plan for the future, “And I can do the same after I’ve estimated how much I’ll get from Jason.   

"Gaynor is thinking about building a new house"

“Listen, I saw Gaynor earlier – I don’t know what’s going on between her and Hywel, but she’s thinking about selling Llwyncelyn to buy a building plot.   We could do the same.”

"Dylan raises all sorts of objections"

As Kelly is taking an interest in their conversation, Dylan raises various objections;  “We’d have to go through planning and managing the project,” but Sara is confident she could do that.

"What about Tapas and Ifan?"

“What about Tapas and Ifan?” he continues, and she concedes that they might have to find a project manager, which he informs her would cost more money.

"It's cheaper to buid than to buy"

She insists that it is cheaper to build than to buy, but he is adamant that their perfect house is right under their noses;  

"Either we buy Llwyncelyn or stay where we are"

“You said Llwyncelyn is going on the market – we either buy it, or stay where we are!   It’s up to you.”

"Latté and Cappuccino?"

After her bit of eavesdropping, Kelly asks them, “Latté and cappuccino?”   Both Sara and Dylan look rather pleased with themselves.

"Exactly what did you have in mind?"

Back at number 9, Tesni enquires, “Exactly what did you have in mind?” 

"It depends on how far you're willing to go"

and Lisa replies that it depends on how far she is willing to go.   “I’m not sleeping with anyone!” Tesni exclaims, but apparently that was not what Lisa had in mind.

"But you'd be on camera"

She explains, “I was thinking more about the online side of things – all you’d have to do is chat to men, like you’ve been doing already, but you’d be on camera.”  

She is hesitant, but needs the money

Although Tesni does not look exactly comfortable, she maintains that she could do that.

Lisa goes on, “Flirt a bit – if anything, it’s a lot easier.   

"The less you wear, the more you get paid"

“Obviously, the less you wear, the more you’ll get paid.”

"Whose funeral is it?"

In the Deri, Kelly joins Jason and DJ, who are looking gloomy;  she asks, “Whose funeral is it?” and Jason says that it is DJ’s.   

"Dylan said he wanted to buy APD"

He explains that Dylan came to Bryntirion, saying that he wants to buy APD.

"Go on – tell her the rest, then"

Jason prompts him to carry on, as there is more to tell;  “He said he’d spoken to Dad and I had to give him the books.”

"Every scrap of financial information!"

Jason exclaims, “Every scrap of financial information about APD is now with Dylan and Sara!”   

"Now she has proof of how much she can claim"

Kelly realises that now Sara has proof of how much she can claim in the divorce and tells DJ he might as well give Jason’s bank account details to Sara.

"After cheating on her"

DJ repeats how sorry he is;  “He’s so sly, and I don’t know why he’s going to so much trouble for Sara, after cheating on her.”   

"You what?"

This comes as news to both is Kelly and Jason, and they are eager to get all the details.   

Mathew studies his phone

Mathew is looking on his phone at the progress of 

He has applied for a £20,000 loan

his application for a £20,000 loan when Izzy joins him in the Deri.   

"You look guilty"

She says that he looks guilty, and he reveals that he was thinking about taking her out for meal as a surprise.   This outing is to be to Cwm Delhi, 

"Best Rogan Josh this side of the Gwendraeth Valley"

who, according to him, make the best Rogan Josh this side of the Gwendraeth Valley.   She goes to fetch a lager.

Gaynor scribbles a note

As Gaynor hurriedly writes their luggage labels, Hywel hopes this does not look as if they are running away;  

"We don't want people to gossip"

“We don’t want people to gossip about us.”   She reckons that it is a bit late for that, and as there is a knock at the door, 

"That's bound to be the Western Post!"

she predicts that it will be the Western Post, here for the exclusive.

"We're interested in buying Llwyncelyn"

In fact it is Sara;  she is sorry to disturb them, but did not want to leave it late and miss an opportunity.   “We’re interested in buying Llwyncelyn – I didn’t say anything earlier, as I wanted to discuss it with Dylan first.   He’s asking whether we can reach some kind of agreement.”

"It's worth considering"

Hywel says that it is worth considering selling privately, but Gaynor has not yet had a valuation;  

Sara would like 'first refusal'

Sara just wanted to ask her to consider selling to them first.   Gaynor will contact her when they get back.

They hurry off to Croatia . . . 

Now they must leave and collect Esther, and as they head for the door, 

. . . just as the phone starts to ring

the phone rings, but Gaynor says to leave it.   We hear the message, which is from Eirian at Banc Dyfed;  

Banc Dyfed want to discuss a loan application

“I’m calling to discuss your loan application.”

Tesni appears to have something on her mind

In the Deri, Tesni’s mind seems to be elsewhere, 

"You're moving on with your life, Tes"

but Aled reminds her that she is moving on with her life;  

Aled has found a flat in Llanarthur . . .

he shows her the picture of a flat in Llanarthur, 

. . . but this one just outside Cwmderi . . .

and she has found a nice one just outside Cwmderi.   

. . . is out of their price range

“It’s got a nice price, too!” he comments, “I assume you’ve found a job,” and she replies that she has put some feelers out, with cafés, pubs – the usual.   

"It won't be long until we can put down a deposit"

She maintains that she is on a mission, and it will not be long until they can put down a deposit on of those flats.

Dylan is celebrating – rather prematurely, perhaps

Mathew sees Dylan with a bottle of champagne;  “Sara and I are celebrating – we are buying a house in Cwmderi.”   Mathew remarks that he wanted to buy a business earlier;  

"You didn't believe that, did you?"

“You didn’t believe that, did you?” Dylan sneers.

"I hope Sara realises what sort of man you are"

Mathew points out that Jason is after his blood;  “I hope Sara realises what sort of man you are,” but is warned to stay out of Dylan’s business.   

"Someone's celebrating"

Mathew returns to Izzy and she can see that someone is celebrating;  “Dylan’s splashing the cash, that’s all,” he says, 

Now Mathew has his loan

as his phone sounds, with a message that his loan application has been successful.   He is in a very good mood.

"Elin, why won't you answer the phone?"

Up in the café flat, Jason grumbles, “Oh, Elin, why won’t you answer the phone?”   Kelly suspects that she may have a life outside his divorce, 

"What if I'd been arrested?"

but he protests, “A solicitor should be available – what if I’d been arrested?”

"You will be, if you carry on!"

“You will be – for stalking – if you carry on!” she warns, but he just wants to know where he stands with regard to APD’s books.

"I don't trust anyone!"

“Is it even legal?   And is Sara responsible, or is it Dylan?   There’s no telling with him!   That’s the point, Kelly, I don’t trust anyone,” he rants.

As she tells him to calm down and take one step at a time, he picks up his coat, and she demands where he is going.   

"I'm going to do something about it!"

“I’m not going to take this nonsense any more – I’m going to do something about it!” he rages, and goes downstairs.   

Kelly chases after him

She shouts after him with no effect, so grabs her coat and follows him.

Dylan comes out of the Deri . . .

Dylan comes out of the Deri with his bottle 

. . . and hears shouting along the street

and is about to go into Hywel’s house next door when Jason emerges from the café, with Kelly in hot pursuit.   

"Who the hell do you think you are?"

“Ah, there he is –just the guy I wanted to see!” Jason shouts, “Who the hell do you think you are?   You took advantage of DJ – it’s easily done – but you’re playing with me now, good boy!”

"Who do you think you are, shouting like that?"

Sara demands who he thinks he is, shouting at them like that, 

"Helping himself to APD's books!"

but the angry response is, “Who does he think he is – helping himself to APD’s books?”

Dylan stresses not up to him who Dai and Diane sell the business to.   

"Lying really is second nature to you, isn't it?"

“Lying really is second nature to you, isn’t it?” snarls Kelly, and is told to keep her nose out by Sara.

“You had no right to stick your nose into APD’s business,” rages Jason, and is informed that Sara has a right to know how much money he is hiding.   

"Every penny goes straight to Ifan"

“Why, Dylan?   Every penny I earn goes straight to Ifan,” Jason tells him, 

"It's my money – not Ifan's!"

but Sara seems to be under the impression it is her money, not Ifan’s.

"You're a nasty piece of work!"

Kelly sums her up with, “You’re a nasty piece of work!” and Sara accuses her of going off with her husband.   “You still asked me to be your bridesmaid, Sara!” is Kelly’s answer.

"Wait until he steals your money!"

“Wait until he goes behind your back and steals your money!” shouts Sara, and Jason wonders if she thinks she knows everything about Dylan, remarking that the boy who attacked him was not very happy with him.

“I heard that he gave you a beating – has Sara heard that story?” Jason wonders, and she alleges that she knows everything about him.   

"Happy to share him with another woman, are you?"

“So you’re happy to share him with another woman, are you?”

"Is that all you've got?"

Dylan is becoming increasingly worried and approaches Jason;  “Is that all you’ve got?” he demands, 

"There's more, is there?"

and Jason is surprised that there is more, but is not going anywhere without those books.

Sara and goes inside to fetch the books and flings them on the ground, growling, “I’ve seen what I need to, anyway!”   

Sara goes back into the house

As Jason retrieves them, Sara and Dylan go back inside.

Jason is incandescent with rage

Jasons anger has now reached fever pitch, 

. . . and Kelly is worried

and Kelly is looking rather worried; “They’re not fit to look after Ifan!” he roars, 

"I'm going for full custody!"

“I’ll try Elin again in the morning – I’m not taking this nonsense!   I’m going for full custody!”
