Greta is enjoying herself |
![]() |
When Tyler comes in . . . |
![]() |
. . . she gets up to greet him |
![]() |
"Don't worry – Dadi's here!" |
![]() |
"She's lovely – just like you!" |
![]() |
"I haven't heard anything about Greta" |
![]() |
"All you need to know is that Greta's fine!" |
![]() |
"Aled had taken her" |
![]() |
"I only turned my back for a few seconds" |
![]() |
"Dani has a broken arm" |
![]() |
"But I didn't push her!" |
![]() |
"He hasn't been picked for the team to play Cwrtmynach" |
Garry is infuriated, insisting that his skills have improved,
but Gwern informs him, “Dai says I’m too slow!”
Cassie confesses that she didn’t get into Dyffryn Ogwen’s hockey team, but Garry angrily compares Gwern to a whippet, and is determined that he will sort this out with Dai.
![]() |
"Dai says I'm too slow!" |
![]() |
"Auntie Cassie didn't get into the hockey team" |
![]() |
Greta plays on, quite oblivious |
![]() |
"I let you know she was OK" |
![]() |
"Why would you do something so stupid?" |
and is informed that it is not right that Iolo will not let him see her.
![]() |
They are being overheard |
![]() |
"The three of us can go away together!" |
![]() |
"I haven't put down all my hours here" |
![]() |
"Without you, we would never have opened on time" |
![]() |
"You're engaged – right, we're celebrating!" |
![]() |
"Gwern's really disappointed because of you!" |
![]() |
"No way, José!" |
![]() |
"Magpies, not flamingos!" |
![]() |
"He's not going to be picked at the moment" |
![]() |
Iolo listens to the conversation |
![]() |
"You've upset a lot of people, including me" |
![]() |
"I don't want a relationship with you!" |
![]() |
"You're supposed to be with me!" |
![]() |
Aled blocks Tyler's way |
![]() |
Iolo is in a retaliatory mood |
![]() |
Greta is picked up by Iolo |
![]() |
"Please don't go, Tyler!" |
![]() |
"I don't want anything to do with you!" |
![]() |
"Thank you, Mrs Jenkins" |
![]() |
"I have to do what's best for ther team and the other boys" |
![]() |
"He won't improve until he's part of a team" |
![]() |
"I would consider it a personal favour" |
Dai is affronted, and replies, “Listen to me, personal favours aren’t part of Cwmderi RFC’s ethos!” Garry reminds him that the Deri has been a good friend to the rugby club for years –
a place for them to meet – for free. If Gwern is not in the team . . .
![]() |
"You've been meeting in the Deri – for free!" |
![]() |
"I'll put him on the bench, OK?" |
![]() |
"I'm glad you've seen sense" |
![]() |
Mathew and Tesni wait in the Deri |
![]() |
"What's the celebration, then?" |
![]() |
"It's 'Ffion' outside school, Tesni" |
![]() |
"It was a bit odd, really" |
![]() |
"It was supposed to be for you at Christmas" |
![]() |
"Ffion found it, so I didn't have a choice!" |
![]() |
"I thought you were one of these modern 'hands-on' fathers" |
![]() |
"I'm a sub today, Auntie Cass" |
![]() |
"If I'm allowed on!" |
![]() |
Bananas and porridge for breakfast |
![]() |
"There's someone at the door – over there!" |
![]() |
"Has he been in touch again?" |
![]() |
Anita has brought back the buggy |
![]() |
"I wanted to check Greta is all right" |
![]() |
"Dani upset me, and I wasn't thinking straight!" |
![]() |
"The police know that she's safe" |
![]() |
"Taking a child is a serious offence!" |
![]() |
"He wouldn't have if you were watching her!" |
![]() |
"You're the last person I want to see right now!" |
![]() |
Anita slinks away |
![]() |
"She's right – we should report him" |
![]() |
"We need to concentrate on Greta" |
![]() |
The first half was not very encouraging |
![]() |
"What has Uncle Dai told you?" |
![]() |
"Haven't you got something stronger?" |
![]() |
Gwern takes his place on the bench |
![]() |
Gwern is told to warm up |
![]() |
The opposing supporters are rather raucous . . . |
![]() |
. . . and Garry hurls insults at them |
![]() |
Tesni is going to take some clothes to her mother in hospital |
![]() |
"Or Ffion, or whatever I'm meant to call her" |
![]() |
Mathew tries to explain to Tesni |
![]() |
"I take it that you've asked Dad?" |
He thinks that she has misunderstood; “Tes, please don’t upset yourself!” he begs,
and then realises when she bursts out laughing that she was only joking.
She demands when she is going to see this ring, but he responds, “You don’t deserve it now! What if you don’t like it?”
She concludes that there is only one way to find out.
![]() |
She bursts out laughing. |
![]() |
"What if you don't like it?" |
![]() |
"There's only one way to find out, isn't there?" |
![]() |
Action shot of Gwern |
![]() |
Garry reckons he takes a lot of the credit for that |
![]() |
A Cwrtmynach player sends Gwern flying |
![]() |
"You swine!" |
![]() |
"Don't you call my son names!" |
![]() |
"No wonder he's like that, with a father like you!" |
![]() |
"Come here and say that – Cwrtmynach scum!" |
![]() |
Greta appears to be deep in thought |
![]() |
"I'm not letting her out of my sight for a while" |
![]() |
"Did you have any idea he planned to do that?" |
![]() |
"I'm not in contact with Aled" |
![]() |
"He did talk about running away with you and Greta!" |
![]() |
"Aled doesn't mean anything to me!" |
One of the Cwrtmynach players has the ball, and Garry shouts, “Kick him, Gwern!”
which offends his opposite number in the Cwrtmynach supporters, and when they come face to face,
Cassie is at pains to keep them apart, warning Garry to calm down before someone calls the police.
![]() |
He will not be placated . . . |
![]() |
. . . and Cassie tries to prevent a brawl |
![]() |
The refereee takes drastic action |
![]() |
"Well done, Garry – match abandoned!" |
![]() |
Tesni opens the box |
![]() |
"Not that hand, is it?" |
![]() |
"It's perfect. Mathew!" |
![]() |
"You never know – perhaps in the future some time" |
![]() |
"There's plenty of time before making decisions like that" |
![]() |
"I promise I'll ask your Dad's permission first!" |
![]() |
""I don't want anything from you, Garry Monk!: |
![]() |
"I can see the tabloid headlines now!" |
![]() |
"If Gwern had been on from the start . . ." |
![]() |
Gwyneth finds something concerning on her phone |
![]() |
"This has gone viral!" |
![]() |
Garry's behaviour has been broadcast far and wide |
![]() |
"She settles much better in her own bed" |
![]() |
"But being around us will only make things worse" |
![]() |
"I miss it being just the three of us" |
![]() |
"Could I stay the night?" |
The next stage of Tyler’s plan is to ask whether he could stay the night, so he is there with her in the morning, but Iolo tells him not to push his luck.
“Please Iol, after everything that’s happened, I just want to be here with you, just for tonight.”
Iolo looks as if he might have been persuaded.
![]() |
"Please, Iol, after everything that's happened" |
![]() |
Iolo appears to be almost persuaded |
