Kelly signs for a delivery
As Debbie arrives, late, for her shift at the café, Kelly is signing for a parcel delivery and speaking on the phone;  she tells Siôn, “Anita is still not answering,” and is surprised to hear that she is still with the cops.   “Just tell her to phone me when she comes out.”
"Anita attacked Dani – allegedly"
Debbie wonders what Anita has done, and is told, “Attacked Dani, allegedly – it’s a load of rubbish if you ask me!   Come on, then – chop chop!”
Angharad is hanging around again . . .
As they go into the café, Angharad is hanging around outside,
. . . and appears to have a plan . . .
and notices, with some satisfaction,
. . . involving Gaynor and Hywel
Gaynor and Hywel walking towards the Deri.
"I'm banning anyone who watches that in here!"
In the bar, Cassie is now watching that video, and is solemnly warned by Garry, “I’m banning anyone who watches that in here!”
"My programme was hijacked by people complaining about you!"
When Hywel comes in, he immediately remarks that his programme was hijacked by people complaining about Garry’s behaviour.   “Well, you should have pulled the plug on them – we’re supposed to be mates!” Garry snarls.
"Parents have also been complaining!"
“Parents have also been complaining about a governor behaving like that!” adds Gaynor,
"Are you going to ban him from the board of governors?"
and Cassie enquires if she is going to ban him from the board of governors.   “You have been warned before about your behaviour,” Gaynor reminds him, “The chairman will want a word.”
“No wonder people aren’t interested in your football club,” remarks Hywel, but Garry has now decided to forget about the idea.   Gaynor orders two Riojas, and is charged £8.50.
"Have you heard about Anita being arrested?"
Garry asks if they have heard about Anita being arrested, and Gaynor wonders what is happening to everyone.
Jaclyn has just arived home from hospital . . .
Jaclyn is being helped from the car into the front door of number 10;
. . . and is complimentary about the 'welcome home' banner
she appreciates the thought behind the banner hanging outside, if not the quality of execution.   Angharad can be seen approaching along the street, and tells Gerwyn that she is having trouble with her car.
"I understand you're the best mechanic round here"
“I understand you’re the best mechanic round here,” she tells him, “Sorry to hassle you – my car keeps stalling.”   He points out that he is rather busy at the moment, as his wife has just returned home from hospital.
"I've left the car by the garage – can you take a look at it?"
“I’ve left the car by the garage – can you take a look at it?” she asks, and hands him the keys.
"It's like a circus down there, Kelly!"
As Kelly is looking at the parcel which has just been delivered, Debbie says she needs some help downstairs, as it is like a circus down there.
"It would help if you started your shift on time!"
Kelly snaps that she would like some peace and quiet, and that it would help if Debbie started her shift on time.   “Sorry – I just don’t want customers complaining,” says Debbie.
“You’ll have to cope without me, because I have to go somewhere,” Kelly informs her,
"Where are you going?"
and when asked where she is going, rather abruptly adds “Mind your own!”
She opens the box . . .
She then returns to the parcel
. . . and takes out a special teddy bear
and takes out a teddy bear with a bow around its neck.
Angharad comes into the Deri
Angharad comes into the Deri and asks if they still do B&B, to which Garry’s curt answer is, “No!”   Cassie elaborates that Danny has a broken arm, so that it is not convenient.
"I have nowhere else to go"
Angharad adopts her usual hard-done-by act, pleading that she has nowhere else to go;
"You wouldn't want him as a chambermaid!"
Cassie does not think she would want Garry as a chambermaid.
Then Angharad notices Gaynor and Hywel sitting at a table, playing Scrabble;
The last person Gaynor wanted to see
when she approaches, Gaynor is dismayed to see her.
"There are enough landlords with long faces round here!"
Meanwhile, behind the bar, Cassie advises Garry, “There are enough landlords with long faces round here – make sure you’re not one of them!”
"I'm angry with myself for hurting Gwern"
He replies that he is just angry with himself for hurting Gwern, but only wants to see him doing well.   Cassie warns him, “Make sure you don’t live your own dreams through your children,”
"I'm sure you did the same with Mai"
but he is sure that she did the same when Mai was younger.   Cassie simply walks away.
Brenda brings Jaclyn another cushion
Brenda makes sure that Jaclyn is comfortable,
Tea and cakes for Jaclyn . . .
and Gerwyn brings her tea and cakes,
. . . made by Gerwyn himself
stressing that he made them;  Jaclyn is suitably impressed, and wonders where kids are.   “Tesni had something on after school . . . and so did Guto,” Gerwyn tells her.
"Guto must have a lot of catching up to do"
“He must have a lot of catching up to do, after spending so much time with me in hospital,” Jaclyn realises, and she thanks her husband for everything he has done,
"Mam was in charge"
but he explains that his mother was in charge, rounding everyone up to help.
"Dylan put his hand in his pocket when required"
Brenda also points out that Dylan put his hand in his pocket when required,
This does not please Jaclyn
and Gerwyn judges that he is not all bad;  he is eager for Jaclyn to try one of his cakes.
"There's a fair bit of making up to do"
Cassie informs Garry that Dani is having a nap, and that her arm is less painful now;  “There’s a fair bit of making up to do,” she suggests,
"I don't think there will be any of that for a while"
but he does not imagine that anyone will be ‘making up’ for a while.
"We could try to find Mai"
“I’ve been thinking – about Mai – we could try to find her,” he says, but Cassie is not in favour of this;  “We could invite her over – she can stay here – I’m sure she’d love to see you.”
"Just leave it, Garry!"
She quite vehemently opposes this, and merely says that it is her business;  “She hasn’t been in touch for a reason – so it’s best to leave it!”
Kelly is in a very tearful state
Kelly’s mother opens the front door to welcome Kelly, who is in a tearful state;
"Are you sure you're doing the right thing?"
Amanda gives her a hug, and asks, “Kel, are you sure you’re doing the right thing?”
"I know I've had plenty of time to prepare"
Kelly knows that she has had plenty of time to prepare, but is still in a terrible state;
"It's lovely, Kelly!"
she shows her mother the farewell gift for Paul.
"Can I see him, please?"
“Can I see him, please?” Kelly asks, and Amanda goes to get Paul;
Paul is wide awake . . .
he is wide awake,
. . . and seems to be a very happy baby
and as Kelly holds him for the last time, he smiles.
"I hardly recognise him"
“I hardly recognise him,” she sobs.
"You've changed so much"
She introduces him to his new teddy and says that he has changed so much;  her mother reminds her she has not seen him for about two months.
"Does Anita know he's going today?"
“Does Anita know that he’s going today?” Amanda asks, that is told that she is otherwise engaged.
The officials come to take Paul away
Then there is a knock at the door, and they realise that the moment has come;  Amanda admits the two officials who have come to collect Paul.
Jaclyn looks at her various tablets
Jaclyn looks at the various tablets she has to take,
"I wasn't sure I'd see you here again"
and Gerwyn ponders that for a while he was not sure whether he would see her there again.
Dylan arrives . . .
As he gives her a hug, the door opens and Dylan arrives,
. . . with an ostentatious bouquet of flowers
with a large bouquet of flowers;  he welcomes her back.
Gerwyn says he has to pop out to the garage, so Dylan can have all her attention;  “And make sure he doesn’t eat all the cakes!” he adds.
"I'll make a fresh pot of tea"
Brenda will make them a fresh cup of tea, and points out, “It’s important that you two have a chance to talk – sort out that silly row you had before Christmas.   It’s not nice to see a brother and sister fall out.   Dylan and Jaclyn look at each other, suspiciously.
"You can finish your shift early"
Garry tells Cassie, “As it’s quiet, you can finish your shift early,” and he hands her a glass of wine;
"Have you got the names or addresses of Mai's friends?"
he continues, “Have you got the names or addresses of some of Mai’s friends?   To try and find some way to contact her.”
"Look, I don't want to talk about it!"
She pointedly replies, “Look, I’ve made it perfectly clear that I don’t want to talk about it!”
He assures her that there is no need to feel embarrassed because she has lost contact, and he will not take any notice of her warnings to leave it.
"I've phoned a private detective"
“I’ve phoned a private detective,” he says, “And asked him to find her – it’s my way of thanking you for everything – I want you to have the chance to see your daughter.   You might be a grandmother.”
"Well, you can cancel him!"
She instructs him to cancel the detective;  “And mind your own business from now on – all right?” she roars, storming out of the Deri.
Their visitors are ready to leave
“Right, they have to go,” Amanda tells Kelly,
"One day you'll understand why I've done this"
and she whispers to Paul that one day he will understand why she has done this –
"You're going to have loads of love"
he is going to have a new family, and a loads of love.   He will always be in her heart.
"I love you!   Please forgive me!"
She kisses her son, and hands him to the official, as she sobs, “I love you!   Please forgive me!”
Kelly is inconsolable
She weeps piteously as Paul is taken away, and her mother cannot comfort her.
Gaynor suspects that all is not as it seems
Gerwyn has found Angharad in the Deri, and informs her he cannot find anything wrong with the car;  she maintains that it usually conks out on a long journey, and stops just like that.   Gaynor is by the bar, and does not appear to believe a word of this.
"I'll have another look at it in the morning"
Gerwyn is now finishing work for the day, so will have another look at it in the morning
"I'm not sure what I'm going to do now"
“I suspected that it would not be easy to fix – that’s why I asked for B&B here,” Angharad whines, “I’m not sure what I’m going to do now.”   As she intended,
Right on cue, Hywel has a suggestion
Hywel suggests she could stay with them, and she goes on, “The course I’m on is at the Glyndwr – everyone else is staying there, but I can’t afford it!”
. . . of which Gaynor does not seem to approve
Gaynor has little choice but to agree that she can stay, and Angharad gushes that they are so kind.
Brenda is going to see Iori
Brenda invites Dylan to help himself to cakes, and is now popping over to see Iori;  “He’s got a new suede suit he wants to show me.”
"If you want to go to the police, I won't stop you . . ."
Left alone, Dylan sits by the side of Jaclyn, and there is a long silence;  “If you want to go to the police, I won’t stop you – if that’s what you want to do.
". . . but you know what would happen to us!"
“But you know what would happen to us.”
She makes it very clear that she does not care what happens to her;
"I'm not going to let Ger and the children suffer!"
“And I care even less about what happens to you!   But I’m not going to let Ger and the children suffer!”
"You're doing the right thing, Jacs"
He looks very relieved and assures her that she is doing the right thing;
"Don't tell me what to do!"
“Don’t tell me what to do!” she exclaims.
"I shall only be here for one night"
As Gaynor is folding the washing, Angharad does not want her to go to any trouble, as she will only be here for the one night;
"I've moved into a flat in Swansea"
“I’ve moved into a flat in Swansea – Jeremy and Delyth come down sometimes.”   Gaynor is glad that her relationship has not crumbled completely.
Angharad says she is still hopeful she can ‘relight the fire’, and suggests that she could cook dinner,
"No – you must have had a tough day"
but Gaynor does not accept her offer, assuming that she has had a tough day.   When she goes upstairs to prepare the guest room,
Angharad does some investigation . . .
Angharad snoops through a few drawers,
. . . and finds Gaynor's financial documents . . .
locating Gaynor’s financial paperwork;
. . . which seems to please her
she smiles.
Kelly is studying something
Kelly is back at the café flat, and is looking intently at something;
"How long have you been back?"
Debbie comes upstairs and wonders how long Kelly has been back;  “You’ve been out all afternoon – where have you been?”
"I just want a couple of minutes on my own"
Kelly apologises, and says that she will be downstairs shortly;  Debbie can see that she is upset, and Kelly asks for a couple of minutes on her own.
The antenatal scan of Paul
Then we see what she has been looking at;  the scan of the baby before he was born.
"Guto has decided he doesn't want to go back to school"
Gerwyn returns home and informs Jaclyn, “Before the children get home, there’s something you should know;  “Guto has decided he doesn’t want to go back to school – but don’t worry, he’s hoping to get a job with Dylan, as some kind of protegé.   You never know – he might run the business one day.”
"He can't go and work for Dylan!'
Jaclyn is adamant that he cannot go and work for Dylan;  “I said no!”
"What's wrong, Jacs?"
 Gerwyn can see that something is wrong, and,
"Dylan's been supplying drugs round here!"
after some thought, she announces, “Dylan has been supplying drugs around here – that’s how he can afford what he’s got!   The car, the houses – it’s all drug money!”
"You're serious, aren't you?"
Gerwyn cannot believe that she is serious, and points out that people have died;  he demands how long she has known about this,
"I thought he had put a stop to it!"
but she answers, “I thought he had put a stop to it!”
"And you've kept all this from me!"
“And you’ve kept all this from me?” he rages, “We’ve put a roof over his head – you’ve put us all in danger!”
"I intended to go to the police on New Year's Eve"
She explains that she had decided to go to the police on New Year’s Eve, but then she had the accident.
"You must go there now!"
He instructs her that she must go to the police now, as that is what he deserves,
"He's still my brother, Ger!"
but she argues, “He’s still my brother, Ger!”
"You chose Dylan over the rest of the family"
Gerwyn accuses her of choosing Dylan over the rest of the family, but she denies this;
"You just don't understand!"
“You just don’t understand!”   He readily agrees that he does not understand her at all.
