Iolo looks at his phone . . .
Outside the ruins of the salon, Iolo is looking on his phone at the photos of Tyler and Greta
. . . at Tyler's self-publicising photos
which have been posted, captioned, #singledadlife’, and ‘#loveyougreta’.   Anita comes out of the shop, and wonders what time he is collecting Greta tonight.
"She's not with me tonight, Anita"
He replies that Greta is not with him tonight, but with Tyler, and she assumes that she has got mixed up.
She is still looking for information about Dani
“He hasn’t told you when Dani will be back from her holiday, has he?” she continues, and Iolo rather irritably points out that they do not talk much these days, so she continues on her way.
"You OK, Iolo?"
Then Mathew passes, and asks if Iolo is OK;
"Not really – have you got any cans?"
“Not really,” he grumbles, “Have you got any cans?”   Mathew realises that it must be something serious in that case, and they head towards the shop flat.
The radio-controlled car intrigues Hywel
At Y Felin, Hywel is playing with the remote-controlled car Esther was given for her birthday
Rhys has brought Esther
when Rhys returns with her.   Hywel says that he is getting settled in, but he has told Esther that they will not be here long – just until the bathroom is ready.
"Yes, I'll have a cup, but I have to make a phone call"
Rhys agrees to have a cup of tea, but has to make a phone call first.
"I haven't stopped all morning"
Ffion is sitting at her desk at school when her phone rings, and Rhys reports that he has just dropped off Esther with his father;  “How are things at school without Gaynor?” he asks;  Ffion complains that she has not stopped, and is only now having lunch.
"You're not 100% at the moment, are you?"
He realises that she is not 100% at the moment, and she does not know how she has survived today.
"I'll tell you everything tonight"
She still has a staff meeting after school, and will tell him everything tonight.
"It's a bit early, but today's a one-off"
Mathew supplies Iolo with the requested can, and he explains, “It’s a bit early for me to drink, but today’s a one-off.”
He shows Mathew the photos
He shows the photos Tyler uploaded,
"There are loads of him and Greta"
and Mathew remarks that there are loads of Tyler and Greta.
“He’s been doing that all weekend – Tyler and Greta in the park – cwtching on the sofa – at the seaside.
"Hashtag '#overthetop'!"
“Hashtag #overthetop’!” groans Iolo, and Mathew notices the captions ‘happy, happy, happy’ and ‘apple of my eye’.
“Look, I still want him to have a good relationship with Greta –
"Does he have to plaster so many photos online?"
“but does he have to plaster so many photos online?” Iolo demands,
"And Tyler posing without a shirt!"
then Mathew finds the ones of Tyler posing without a shirt, which Iolo describes as, “Pathetic!”
"He just wants attention, and to prove he's moved on"
Mathew says that he just wants attention, and can understand why Iolo is upset about all the photos of him and Greta;  “But you shouldn’t care about the rest, because you’ve finished – he wants to prove that he’s moved on, that’s all!”
"He's definitely done that!"
and Iolo snarls that he has definitely done that.
"You were right to get rid of him"
Mathew knows that this is difficult for Iolo;  “What he did was wrong, and you were right to get rid of him – everyone knows that!
"You're the one who's better off, not him"
“You’re the one who’s better off, not him.”
"It doesn't feel like that"
Iolo replies that it does not feel like that, and he is urged not to take any notice of the photos, because they never reflect real life.
"I've got the skill, boy!"
Mark and Tyler are playing a computer game at Maes-y-Deri, with Mark boasting that it is because of skill and not luck that he is winning.   Tyler’s excuse is that Iolo did not like to play;  “And I certainly couldn’t eat pizza on the sofa!   It was not just the OCD – I always did something he didn’t like –
"I like living here – no-one gives a damn!"
“that’s why I like living here – no-one gives a damn!”
Mark wins
Mark wins the game, and is very jubilant about it, but then Tyler’s phone sounds;
'Volcano' has fixed him up with yet another 'date'
he finds that he has another match on the Volcano app, this time a 30-year-old by the name of Kieron.
"I don't think I'm the best person to give an opinion"
“I don’t think I’m the best person to give you an opinion on dates,” Mark informs him, and Tyler deduces that this Kieron is obviously a gym bunny, with a nice smile – but is probably as thick as two short planks;
"But I'm not going to say no"
however, he is not going to say no.
"He's got another 'date'!"
Kath comes in, and is told by Mark that Tyler has another date;
"He will have got through every guy in Carmarthenshire by Easter!"
“Blimey – at this rate he will have dated every guy in Carmarthenshire by Easter!” she declares.
Ffion is decidedly under the weather . . .
Ffion is lying on the sofa in the deputy head’s office,
. . . but still has to cope with the head's duties
but is disturbed by a knock on the door;
She signs the document as required . . .
there is some paperwork for her to sign.
. . . and is certainly not herself
She is obviously not feeling up to the meeting after school.
Greta is indulging in some painting
At Y Felin, Siôn is supervising Greta, as she does some painting;
Anita is pleased they are enjoying themselves
Anita comes in, and as Siôn puts a dab of red paint on his nose,
"Silly Tad-cu!"
Greta shakes her head in disapproval.   Anita is glad that there is newspaper on the table to protect it.
"Nobody knows when she will be back!"
He enquires if Dani is back, and Anita angrily reports that she is not;  “And nobody knows when she will be!
"Iolo was a bit prickly"
“I bumped into Iolo outside the shop, and he was a bit prickly, to be honest.”   Siôn remarks that he is not dealing with his new life very well,
"He's a big boy now, Siôn – he should stand on his own feet"
but she insists that he is a big boy now, and should be able to stand on his own feet.
"Doesn't the same apply to Kelly?"
Siôn replies that Kelly is in the same position, and she takes exception to this;  “It doesn’t stop you worrying about her and trying to help,” he points out.
"Do you want more juice, Greta?"
Greta indicates that she would like some more juice to drink, and they try some purple paint.
Tyler is in the back street . . .
As Tyler walks along the back street, and is looking at his phone, he encounters Iolo;
. . . where he meets Iolo
“I was about to phone you,” he begins, but Iolo complains about all the photos he is posting of him and Greta, and asks that he should desist.
"It's not right you're putting so many photos of her online"
Iolo goes on, “It’s not right that you’re putting so many photos of her online – we used to be a family – and you weren’t posting half-naked photos of yourself either!
"Don't drag Greta into it!"
“Look, I don’t care what you get up to, but don’t drag Greta into it!”
"I'm not harming anyone"
Tyler maintains that he is not harming anyone, and has a right to share photos of his little girl.
"No harm?   Aled took her!"
“No harm?   Aled took her – what if that happened again?” demands Iolo, but is told that he is worrying about nothing, and Tyler will change the account to private so that only people they know can access the photos.
"Your arms are still really muscly"
Then he remarks that Iolo’s arms are still really muscly, and perhaps he should post topless photos online as well.   Then he gets to the reason he was about to phone Iolo;
"Can you collect Greta tonight?"
“Can you collect Greta tonight?   I know it’s short notice, but as I did you a favour last week . . .”
Iolo agrees to this, as he is not doing anything,
Not a good idea, Iolo
and then, rather impulsively, kisses Tyler,
"You shouldn't do that – you asked for a divorce"
who protests that he should not do that, as he has asked for a divorce.   “You wanted to finish and to move on – and that’s what I’m doing.”
There is is his 'date' down the alley
A text arrives on Tyler’s phone, to inform him that his ‘date’ has arrived, and is indeed standing at the other end of the alley.
Iolo watches them hugging . . .
Iolo is watching as the two strangers hug each other,
. . . and is not happy
and looks distraught.
Ffion cannot find her key
Ffion arrives at Cysgod y Glyn, quite evidently not feeling well, and fumbles in her bag for the key, which she is unable to find.
She assumes that Rhys is home
As she presses the door buzzer,
"My head's all over the place today"
Rhys and Arwen are approaching from the other direction, and Ffion says that her head is all over the place today;
No – she certainly does not look herself
“All I want to do is collapse on the sofa – I don’t feel well.”   She is helped inside by Rhys.
Mark tries some solo play
Mark is now playing the computer game by himself, and is surprised when his mother joins him,
"Not a bad bit of pizza!"
also helping herself to Tyler’s pizza.
"Wouldn't it be an idea for you to go on the dating apps?"
“Wouldn’t it be an idea for you to go on the dating apps, too?” she suggests, “Instead of being stuck here every night?”
"It's like shopping for someone online, Mam!"
Mark is horrified at the idea;  “It’s wrong, Mam – like shopping for someone online!” but she tells him not to be such a prude – arguing that everyone is doing it these days,
"I'm thinking of doing it myself"
and she is even considering it herself.   She wants to play against him, explaining that Ricky showed her how to do it.
"This is Kieron"
At that moment, Tyler returns and introduces Kieron;
"Fancy a cup of tea, boys?"
Kath offers them a cup of tea,
Off they go upstairs
but they decline and head upstairs.
"Turn up the volume, Mark!"
Mark and his mother look at each other, and decide to turn up the volume on the game.
Tyler has not arrived to collect Greta
Anita asks Siôn to help her clear up for dinner;  “If Tyler does turn up, he will have to wait for us to finish.”   Siôn cannot understand what is keeping him,
"Tyler's plans have changed"
but then Iolo arrives and advises that Greta is going with him, as Tyler’s plans have chaned.
"He's seeing someone, I suppose!"
“He’s seeing someone, I suppose!” growls Anita, scornfully, “Well, Greta’s gone to bed – she couldn’t keep her eyes open.”
"Why don't you stay for a meal?"
Siôn says that Iolo is welcome to stay for the meal,
"OK, then – that would be good"
and he accepts.
"Right, time for bed, Esther"
At Y Felin, Hywel takes Esther up to bed,
"You're heavy, Esther"
carrying her upstairs;
Pity she did not arrive a few seconds earlier
the front door opens, and Angharad peers cautiously in.
She continues rifling theough the drawers
She quietly resumes her search of the sideboard.
Rhys prepares dinner
Rhys is cooking dinner,
"You didn't have to read her a story, Ffi"
and Ffion returns, after having read Arwen a story;
"I feel a bit better now"
she feels a bit better now, but still looks rather pale.
"I think you went back to work too soon"
Rhys says that she went back to work too soon, but she insists that she will be fine in a day or two;  dinner will be ready in a few minutes.
This gives a clue about Ffion's condition . . .
Meanwhile Ffion picks up her phone and looks on the ‘Period Tracker’ app;
. . . and she is looking concerned
she looks rather concerned.
Kath's game play is rather rusty
At Maes-y-Deri, Mark appears to be winning the game against his mother, who explains that she has not played for a long time;  Tyler and his ‘date’ come downstairs and have now decided to go out.
"Kieron's in a folk band in Caqrmarthen"
“Kieron wants to see a band in Carmarthen – a folk band,” Tyler informs them, but Mark does not think he looks the type.   Kath wonders if he does clog dancing as well.
“Kieron’s in a folk group –
"There's a lot more in his head than I thought"
“and there’s a lot more in his head than I thought,” Tyler continues.
"You'd think he would get to know them first, before . . ."
Mark points out to his mother that they only met this afternoon, and she replies, “You’d think he would get to know them first, before he . . . you know.”
She finds what she was looking for . . .
Angharad is going through Gaynor’s box of financial papers once again, and finds something which resembles a cheque book,
. . . and puts it in her pocket
which she slips into her back pocket.
A quick swig of Hywel's wine . . .
She takes a swig of Hywel’s wine, then hears his voice upstairs,
. . . then she seeks refuge in another room
and in her haste to hide in another room, knocks something to the floor.
Hywel picks up the toy from the floor
He comes downstairs, and is surprised to see Esther’s toy car on the floor;
Angharad is still stuck in there at the moment
Angharad keeps watch to see when the coast is clear.
"Simple food with quality local ingredients"
At Y Felin, they have enjoyed their meal, which Siôn describes as, “Simple food with quality local ingredients – there’s nothing better!”
"My cooking has started to slip"
Iolo admits that his cooking has started to slip since he has been living on his own again.
Siôn maintains that Anita should publish a cook book,
"The Lonely Kitchen"
and Iolo suggests a title, “The Lonely Kitchen – for single people who can’t move on with their lives.”   Anita protests that there are lots of ways of moving on and meeting people;  he does not have to copy Tyler.
"Meet people the old-fashioned way"
“Do it the old-fashioned way – joining a club, having a hobby, evening classes – anything, as long as you’re meeting people.”   Siôn agrees with this.
"I would like to go back to the gym more regularly"
Iolo confesses that he would like to go back to the gym more regularly;  “I know it sounds silly, but I don’t want to go on my own.”
Siôn proposes accompanying him
Siôn volunteers to go with him, adding that he has been considering it for a while.
Hywel settles down for the evening . . .
Hywel is now relaxing on the sofa, listening to classical music, prbably Vivaldi,
. . . while Angharad is becoming tired of lurking in there
while Angharad is still concealed in her hiding place.
"All right – Dadi's coming"
Esther’s voice can be heard upstairs;  he tells her to go to sleep, but then says that Dadi is coming.
Now that the coast is clear . . .
As soon as he can be heard going up the stairs, Angharad emerges,
. . . Angharad makes good her escape
and, as quietly as she can, lets herself out of the front door.
