"You don't know what's in it"

As Howard approaches the back of the van, he demands, “What’s the point buying a lock-up and not seeing what’s in it?”

"We might be sitting on a treasure"

Mark suggests that they might be sitting on a treasure.   “What do you think Britt is?   A pirate?” Howard sneers,

"And why can't you come with me"

“And what’s so important you can’t come with me?”

"AM Vargenne – it's me!"

“It’s this bloomin’ AM Vargenne, isn’t it?” snarls Mark, “The bloke who’s been leaving parcels in Colin’s shop.   The thing is, it’s me!”

"Why are you spending money on toilet rolls?"

Howard cannot understand why he is spending his money on toilet paper and bleach.   “To sell them for a profit!” is Mark’s answer,

He has not worked out how he will sell it

but apparently he has not got as far as working out how he will sell the stuff.

Then he is asked why he has been sending the parcels to the shop;  “I didn’t want them in the house with Dani and the kids there.”   So he has been using the shop as free storage.

"I have to pick them up today"

However, if he does not pick them up today, Colin will send them back to  the depot and he will have to pay to get them back.

"Right, I've got an idea"

Now Mark comes up with a plan, involving the APD van.

Eleri leafs through a magazine

Eleri is leafing through a magazine when the buzzer sounds and she finds that Hywel is outside;

She is not keen to see Hywel

she is not keen to see him, but he maintains that he will only be two minutes.

She puts down her yoga mat

She quickly spreads out her yoga mat on the floor.

"You have to come back to Tomos ac Ellis!"

“You have to come back to Tomos ac Ellis,” Hywel tells her, “The Maes-y-Deri boys want to kill me!”

"So he's put you in charge to deal with the mob!"

It does not surprise her that her father put him in charge to deal with the mob.

"This was not part of the job description"

He argues that was not part of his job description and he is not an estate agent.   “I need your help,” he pleads.

"Sorry, I'm diversifying"

She replies, “I’m diversifying, sorry – to somewhere I’ll be appreciated.”

"I know your father can be difficult"

Hywel appreciates that her father can be difficult sometimes, but he takes her point.

"My yoga mat is calling"

“Now, excuse me – my yoga mat is calling,” Eleri tells him, “You should try it – it might help you relax.”   Hywel walks out again.

Colin is getting rid of the boxes

As Colin is stacking the boxes outside the back door of the shop,

"Right, then, enough is enough!"

he mutters, “Right then, AM Vargenne, enough is enough!”

"Give her a cuddle from me"

Iolo comes along the street, speaking on the phone to Dani, “Thanks – you’re one in a million – give her a cuddle from me.”   Colin adds some more to the pile,

Howard calls to Colin

just as Howard comes down the alley

"Can I have a word, Col?"

and would like to have a word.

Meanwhile, Mark drives the van to the other end of the alley, and begins to load the boxes.

"You know a bit about money, don't you?"

“You know a bit about money, don’t you?” begins Howard.

"I deal with cash and accounts every day"

Colin concedes that he deals with cash and accounts in the shop every day.   “Because it’s like this, you see,” Howard continues.

Greta's temperature has come down

At Y Felin, Dani reports that Greta’s temperature has come down and promises that her Dadi will not be long, as he is just finishing a job.

Cai comes home unexpectedly

At that moment Cai returns home;

"I thought you were out all day"

Dani had been under the impression that he was out all day.

"The session finished early"

Cai informs her that the session finished early and is pleased to hear Greta is getting better.

"Have you had a chance to think about charities?"

Dani prepares to leave, but he asks if she has had a chance to think about what charity she would like them to raise money for next week – for the ‘danceathon’.

Dani knows nothing about it

Dani has no idea what he is talking about, as Britt has not said a word to her.

Jinx is not satisfied

Jinx is still worrying about the portrait he has been painting, but Eleri assures him that it is fine.   “Look at it – does this say Ifan Jones Evans, National Treasure, to you?”

"These eyes are not right"

“Yes,” she abruptly replies, but he has serious concerns about the eyes;  she points out that he was happy with it last week.

"There's no 'soul' in it!"

Now he is adamant that there is no ‘soul’ in the portrait.

"Do we have to go through this every time?"

“Do we have to go through this with every piece you paint?” Eleri groans, “Ifan’s a presenter, not an art critic!”

"I've got standards, Eleri!"

Jinx protests that he has standards,

"There's nothing wrong with it"

but she simply points out that there is nothing wrong with it.

"I'm aiming a bit higher than that!"

“I’m aiming a bit higher than ‘there’s nothing wrong with it’!” he moans,

"I'll have to cancel the commission!"

“I’ll have to cancel the commission!”

Eleri reminds him that Ifan will be over later to pick it up and Jinx cannot disappoint him.

'I don't want to undermine my credibility"

However, Jinx is insistent, “Nobody’s seeing this – I don’t want to undermine my credibility.”   She comments that he is intense and he agrees, “Yes, I am intense about my artwork!   I helped you out with that Maes-y-Deri business – this is your chance to repay the favour!”

"You're putting me in a really awkward spot"

She maintains that he is putting her in a really awkward spot, but says she will phone Ifan on her way home, as she has nothing better to do.”

"Miss getting bossed around by your father?"

“You miss getting bossed around by your father, then?   You’re free now to do what you want,” Jinx reminds her.

"I don't know where I'm diversifying"

She has told everyone that she is diversifying, but she does not know to where.   Jinx believes that the Brynawelon job is still available.

"I told Britt to check with you first

Cai insists that he told Britt to check with Dani first;  “She texted to say that she wanted a chat,

"I haven't had time"

“but I haven’t had time,” Dani answers.

"I'm perfectly willing to cancel"

Cai understands and is perfectly willing to cancel it.   “No, it’s fine – you’re doing it for a good course, so . . .”

Dani does not think that she will be there and just then there is a knock at the door,

Dani says goodbye to Greta . . .

Dani goes to say goodbye to Greta.

. . . but when the visitor comes in . . .

The visitor is Olivia and as soon as Dani sees her,

. . . Dani is astounded

she exclaims, “Liv?”

"You go upstairs, Greta"

and immediately tells Greta to go upstairs.

Cai realises Olivia and Liv are the same person

Cai suddenly realises the identity of Olivia.

"I want to help Cai's charity . . ."

Howard is still trying to distract Colin’s attention;  “The thing is, I want to help Cai’s charity, of course – I’ve already sponsored him.”

"I'm sure he'll be grateful"

Colin is sure that Cai will be very grateful

The boxes are going into the van

and in the background we can see that Mark is furiously loading parcels into the van.

"Great will be your reward in heaven"

Colin remarks, “Good – great will be your reward in heaven, but now excuse me.”

"Do you think I should dance as well?"

However, Mark has not finished yet so Howard wonders whether he should dance as well, and asks what Colin thinks about that.

"That's up to you, Fred Astaire"

“That’s up to you, Fred Astaire!” grumbles Colin and as Britt calls Colin to the shop,

The boxes seem to have taken their toll on Mark . . .

Mark appears to have hurt his back

. . . who is struggling

and drops a parcel.

"You – I knew it was you!"

Colin discovers what has been happening;  “You – I knew it was you!” he snarls.

"It won't happen again, Col"

Mark promises that it will not happen again and they throw the last few parcels into the van.

"I'm not finished with you!"

“I’m not finished with you two!   I haven’t even started with you!” Colin shouts.

"How could you be so stupid?"

Dani is furious;  “How could you be so stupid?   Wasn’t the name enough of a red flag.”

"Were you using me?"

Cai demands whether Olivia used him to get to Greta and she promises that she did not.

"You can't believe a word she says!"

Dani protests that he cannot believe a word she says, but Olivia claims that she has changed.

"I want you out, or I'll phone the cops!"

Then Iolo bursts in, demanding, “Where is she?   I want you out, or I’ll phone the cops!”

"You were the one who brought her here!"

Dani also wants Kai out of the house, as he was the one who brought her here.

He stresses that he had no idea who she was;  “She worked in the hospital – how was I supposed to know she was the ‘Liv’?”

Liv has Greta's soft toy . . .

Iolo notices that she is holding Greta’s soft toy;  “Where did you get that?   Have you been in this house before?”

. . . which Iolo seizes

He grabs the toy, as Dani replies that of course she has;  she is a thief on top of everything else.

"Drugs aren't cheap, you know"

“Drugs aren’t cheap, you know!”

"I've been clean for ages"

Olivia protests that she is not using any more and has been clean for ages.   She has a job,

"Before you get snobby, it's a good job"

“And before you get snobby, it’s a good job.”

"Not good enough to stop you breaking in here!"

“Not good enough to stop you breaking in here!” is Dani’s comment.

Olivia emphasises that she is not there to steal anything and she is not on drugs.   In that case, Iolo wants to know what she is after.

"I'm pregnant again"

She reaches into her bag and takes out a photograph, announcing, “I’m pregnant again and I don’t know what to do.”   Iolo looks with horror at her.

"Coffee, please"

Hywel comes into the deli and asks for a coffee;

"Oh dear, you've left the office again"

Eleri observes, “Oh dear, you’ve left the office again.”   When his phone sounds, she advises him to answer it and he complains that he cannot have five minutes to himself.

"Right, I'm on my way"

“Yes, I’ll be there now,” he says, “All right, I’m on my way,” as he leaves again, without his coffee.

"What's put a smile on your face?"

Jinx now arrives, asking who has put a smile on Eleri’s face;

"Old people – sorry, the elderly"

“Old people – sorry, the elderly.”   He remarks that she turned her nose up at that earlier, “But that was before I did a bit of research.

She seems to have her future planned

“I think I’d only have to work there for a year at the most, to learn what’s what and see how the sector works.

"Then I can open my own home"

“Then I can open my own home – I don’t waste money.   There are so many areas I could cut costs.”

"I'm sure the elderly will be thrilled about that"

Jinx is sure that the elderly will be thrilled about that, but she maintains that it would not affect the care;  “It just needs to be more savvy, more streamlined.   I think the sector would be lucky to have my expertise, actually.

"I have a good feeling about this job"

“I’ve got a good feeling about this job – and it will be a chance to prove to everyone what I can do.”

"Everyone?   Or just your father?"

“Prove to everyone?   Or just your father?” Jinx enquires, “Just make sure you try for the job for the right reasons.”

"If I happen to prove a point, that is all the better"

She tells him that if she happens to prove a point to her dear father in the process, that is all the better.

"I've got an application form to fill in"

“Right, excuse me – I’ve got an application form to fill in,” so Jinx takes that to be his cue to leave.

"It's a fake"

“Is that why you were off work sick?” Cai asks, but Dani is convinced that it is a fake.

The photo appears genuine

Iolo points out that the photo has the hospital name and date on it.

"This is not fake"

Olivia lifts up her top and tells them that is not fake.

"So why did you come looking for me?"

Iolo still cannot understand why she has been nosing around the place and why she came looking for him.   She replies that she has her reasons,

"What are they, then?"

so Dani wants to know what they are.

"I want to talk to Iolo in private"

She would like to talk to Iolo in private, but is told that both of them are family.

"Please, Iolo"

“I understand that – but please . . .” says Olivia

"Congratulations'

and Iolo asks Cai and Dani to go.

Jinx notices something . . .

Jinx leaves the deli, then notices, on the other side of the street,

. . . Ifan Jones Evans . . .

Ifan Jones Evans speaking to someone;

. . . so he rushes home

he rushes back to number 9

"There's not much of any worth"

Howard comes to see Mark at Maes-y-Deri and reports that he has been to the lock up, which contains nothing much of any worth,

". . . except these"

but he did find a couple of necklaces.   “They’re not worth a fortune, but they’re better than nothing.

"How does it look?"

Howard thinks that they suit Mark;  “I’ve got a friend in Newport – she could sell them in her shop.”

Colin creeps up to he back door

Colin comes through the back door,

"This is where you're hiding!"

shouting, “Ah– this is where you two are hiding, is it?”

"I'm not hiding – I live here"

Mark points out that he is not hiding, but he lives there.

"I want compensation . . ."

Colin is there demanding compensation;  “A decent amount for storing your cheap toilet paper in the shop –

". . . or I could have a chat with trading standards"

“or I will have to have a quiet chat with trading standards.   I take it that your grand plan is to sell on your toilet rolls for a tidy profit.   You can start by paying your debts in the shop.”

"I don't have any money!"

Mark explains that he does not have any money;  he is sorry that he dumped everything in the shop, but he had no room to keep them at the house.   If he had paid for storage, then he would not be able to afford a decent solicitor.

"Give him a break, Col"

Howard urges Colin to give him a break,

"What would happen to Dani and the kids?"

with Mark adding, “I could be in jail for a long time – what would happen to Dani and the kids then?   You don’t want that on your conscience, do you?   There we are, then.”

"I suppose we are mates . . ."

Colin concedes that they are mates at the end of the day, although he is not so sure about Howard;

". . . but if I see one more parcel!"

“Anyway, boys, listen – if I see one more parcel, it will be fireworks, all right?”

Mark has had a narrow escape

He leaves the house again.

"I was lonely and vulnerable"

As they sit in the deli, Cai explains to Dani, “I was lonely and vulnerable – and she was a friend to me during a dark time.

"I'm kicking myself for not making the connection"

“I’m kicking myself for not making the connection – it’s completely obvious.”

"She's here to take advantage"

Dani insists that it is also obvious that Liv is there to take advantage, because that is what she is like.

"She's funny, sensitive, caring"

However, he maintains that is not the Olivia he has come to know, who is funny, sensitive and caring.

“I can’t believe you’re stupid enough to be deceived,” she sneers, but he is adamant that people can change.   Dani is going to be an auntie again before long –

"Concentrating on the future is more important"

and if he has learnt anything recently, it is that concentrating on the future is more important than living in the past.

He leaves that thought with Dani

He gets up and leaves.

"We have a problem!"

Jinx rushes into the Deri to inform Eleri that they have a problem;  “Ifan Jones Evans is here!

"Why is my picture here?"

“Why is my picture here?   What’s going on?”

"Ler!"

Just then Ifan comes through the door and greets her as, “Ler!”

"And you must be Huw Jenkins"

Then he turns;  “And you must be Huw Jenkins – nice to meet you, mate.”

Howard recognises the voice and looks to check who it is, while Jinx insists there has been a bit of a misunderstanding.

"It's Ifan from the radio!"

Howard exclaims, “Good grief – it’s Ifan from the radio!   I love listening to him – it’s the best thing on the radio.

"I never win, though"

“I try the competition almost every week – I never win, though.”

Mark tries to flog the necklace

Mark even tries to flog the necklace to him,

They have a selfie

but Howard wants them to have a selfie.

"Sorry, I must have forgotten"

Jinx cannot understand what Ifan is doing there, as Eleri was supposed to cancel him;  “Oh, sorry, I must have forgotten,” she says, “I’ve got a lot on my mind.”

The masterpiece is unveiled

She invites Ifan to come and see the masterpiece;

"It's not often that I'm speechless"

“Well, Jinx, it’s not often that I’m speechless . . . I don’t know  what to say – it’s so . . . original, and look at the eyes.

"You've really captured my soul there, you know"

“You’ve really captured my soul there, you know?”

Eleri is looking smug

Jinx is absolutely amazed that he likes it;

"How could I not like it?"

“How could I not?   Thanks, mate.   And thanks to you, Ler.   Without you, I’d never have come across his work.”

“Yes, thanks, Ler,” adds Jinx,

"Only Ifan's allowed to call me 'Ler'!"

but is angrily informed that only Ifan is allowed to call her ‘Ler’.   Ifan warns him not to cross her

"I'll put in a good word for you"

and will be sure to put in a good word for Jinx with the Radio Cymru gang.

Geraint wants a selfie

Even Geraint the barman would like a selfie.

"Now do you have faith in yourself?"

“Now do you have faith in yourself?” Eleri asks Jinx.

"Who is the father?"

Iolo hands back the photo to Olivia and asks who is the father;  she maintains that is not important as he does not want to know.

"The whole thing has made me think about Greta"

“But the whole thing has made me think more and more about Greta.”

"You're not taking Greta!"

Iolo is quick to assure her that she is not taking Greta;  “You signed the forms and everything.”

"I have no intention of that"

“Iolo, I have no intention at all of taking Greta,” she assures him,

"Then why are you here?"

so he wonders why she is there and why she has been acting very suspiciously these last few weeks.

She alleges that she wanted to see how happy Greta was with him;

"I want you to adopt this baby as well"

“You’re obviously an amazing father, so I thought I want you to adopt this baby as well.”

Iolo cannot believe it

This suggestion appears to horrify Iolo.
