Siôn finds the table dusty

Siôn visits the shop flat to talk to Mathew, and obviously disapproves of the state of cleanliness;  

"She didn't have much to say earlier"

“She didn’t have much to say when I saw her earlier,” he says and Mathew answers that she was the same with him.

He has no idea when she will be coming home, but at least he can get the place ready for her;  

"Beer, yoghurt and a pint of milk"

“The fridge is full of beer, yoghurt and a pint of milk,” he informs Siôn, who comments that they are all bad for her.   

"I shall go to the shop in a minute"

“I shall go to the shop in a minute,”Mathew replies.

“Is she going to sleep on the sofa?” asks Siôn, and is told that she will be in Eifion’s room, which is empty.   

Siôn has not finished finding fault

When Siôn raises further points, he is reminded that he is not her only ex.

"I know how to deal with colitis"

“I know Tesni well, and I know how to deal with colitis,” he says, and Siôn stresses it is not as easy as living with Rhys or Eifion, as he knows from experience.   “Siôn, please – I have a lot to do, so . . .” snaps Mathew, 

"Keep in touch, Mathew"

and Siôn leaves the flat, asking to be kept in touch.

Packing is in full swing

An unusual camera angle, looking down the stairs at Deri Fawr, reveals Sioned packing for their journey, but she tells DJ that she will not be taking everything with her, and that some will be going to Apêl Maenan.

"The boat would end up at the bottom of the Irish Sea"

“I’m glad about that, because if you took all these, the boat would end up at the bottom of the Irish Sea!” he exclaims, “We’ll have to buy new clothes anyway, living in the city – 

"Us country bumpkins aren't used to that"

“us country bumpkins are not used to that!”

"Have I done something wrong?"

Sioned seems strangely distant and DJ asks what is wrong, but she insists that there is nothing.   “Have I done something wrong?” he demands, “I know things are difficult, but . . .”   

"I'd better get some boxes from APD"

In a desperate attempt to change the subject, Sioned says that she had better get some boxes for this stuff and will pop out to APD for some.   

DJ is looking concerned

He is looking concerned.

Ieuan prepares a lavish breakfast . . .

Ieuan Griffiths is preparing a lavish spread, and it is revealed that this is our first view inside Tomos ac Ellis.

As he arranges strawberries on the plate, Anita comes in, asking what is the emergency.

"A romantic breakfast, Anita"

“Surprise!” he says, but she protests that she is busy today.   “A romantic breakfast to celebrate you moving in, isn’t it?” he goes on, “Not here – into my house.”

"But I'm not moving in with you"

“But I’m not moving into your house – I’m just staying with you during the wedding,” she points out.   He stresses that they will be living together 

"You'll have a spread like this every day"

and that she will have a spread like this every morning from tomorrow onwards.

Of course Anita raises objections;  “I can’t eat croissants every day – I have to fit into my dress!”   

"You haven't bought it yet"

He laughs that she has not bought one yet, and suggests that she have a coffee or a pineapple juice.   

"I'm stressed about the wedding"

She apologises that she is stressed about this wedding, as she picks up a strawberry.

“I’m going to Swansea today, you know that, and I know Amanda will give me a headache.”   

"I'll run you a bath, Anita"

Ieuan assures her that he will have the house ready for her when she comes home.   He will run her a bath so that she can relax in the water in peace.

"Who is this?   The history society?"

The phone rings and he grumbles that they are not yet open;  in his haste to get to the phone, he knocks it on to the floor.   “Good morning – Tomos ac Ellis – who is this?   The history society?”   

Anita leaves the shop

Meanwhile Anita takes another strawberry and hurries out of the shop.

"Listen, not this again!"

“Listen, not this again!” Ieuan snarls down the phone.

Sioned has a pack pf boxes

Mathew has just served a customer at APD when Sioned carries some boxes to the counter;  “Getting things organised at Deri Fawr, are you?” comments Mathew, 

"We're moving . . ."

and she reveals that they are moving, which he assumes will be back to Penrhewl.

“Another one without much faith in us,” she groans, 

" . . .we're leaving Cwmderi"

“We’re leaving Cwmderi – after Kelly’s and Jason’s wedding – DJ has got a job out in Ireland, so we can finally leave this hole!”

"There's nothing left in Cwmderi for us"

Mathew is very shocked when she tells him that it is permanent and that there is nothing left in Cwmderi for them.   

"I'm here"

“I’m here,” he sadly replies.

"I've sent a message to Dylan"

Siôn comes in and informs Mathew that it is all sorted with Tesni;  “I got Dylan’s number from Megan, and I’ve sent him a message explaining everything.   She should be with her family.”

"You didn't think I could cope, did you?"

As Sioned comes back with another pack of boxes, Mathew growls, “You  didn’t think I could cope, did you?” 

"I was only thinking of Tesni"

but Siôn insists that he was only thinking of Tesni.

"He's nursed lots of my hangovers"

Sioned intervenes to emphasise that Mathew is a fantastic nurse;  “He’s nursed lots of my hangovers.”   

"Tesni's condition is more serious than a hangover!"

Siôn angrily points out that Tesni’s condition is more serious than a hangover.

She in turn accuses him of not knowing what Tesni needs;  “Don’t be so patronising!”

"I'll tell Dylan not to worry"

Mathew insists that Tesni will want to be with him;  “Give me Dylan’s number – I’ll phone him and tell him not to worry.”   Siôn walks out without another word, 

"I won't miss people like him"

and Sioned remarks that she will not miss people like him.

Mathew pleads for Sioned's help

Mathew says that he needs her help;  “I’m not sure if I’m ready to look after Tesni – the flat certainly isn’t ready.   Will you help me, please?”

"Perfect timing, Ieuan"

Ieuan Griffiths is at Y Felin;  “Perfect timing, Ieuan – you can join us for breakfast,” says Hywel.

"I haven't got time to eat"!

“I haven’t got time to eat – it’s nice for those who can tuck into their breakfast – while I deal with the plebs!” he moans, “John Jones from the local history society – you gave him a mouthful a few weeks ago, apparently.   

"Now I have to deal with him"

“Now I have to deal with him.”

Hywel reminds him that he was the one who gave Garry the dodgy planning approval, but Ieuan maintains there was nothing dodgy about it.

"Everyone was desperate for an American fast food diner!"

Gaynor sarcastically comments, “I’m sure everyone was desperate for an American fast food diner!”   Ieuan wonders if she has tried it, as the wings are lovely.

"If I hear any more about this John Jones . . ."

Hywel refuses to discuss this over breakfast;  “If I hear any more about that John Jones,” he threatens.   Griffiths hopes that they enjoy their breakfast and leaves the house.

"I can't wait for this fashion show"

At the shop in Swansea, Diane is selecting various garments and Kelly unenthusiastically remarks to Anita, “I can’t wait for this fashion show.”   

Kelly looks at the hairband . . .

Anita has found a hairband which she says is exactly the same as the one she saw in C James jewellers in Llanarthur, and she wants Kelly to try it on.   

. . .  and they go into the changing rooms

Then Anita and Diane go into the changing rooms.   Kelly seems totally fed up with the whole experience.

"You were the first one to respond"

When Jason arrives at Cysgod y Glyn, Jinx asks if he gave Kelly those papers, which he did, and thanks Jinx for replying to the e-mail, saying he can come to the wedding;  “You were the first one to respond,” he says, 

"Do I win something?"

and Jinx asks if he wins something.   “I’m here to ask a favour,” Jason continues, 

"I have to buy the rings – now"

“I have to pick and buy a wedding ring and engagement ring for Kelly – now.”

"You're a brave man, Jason!"

Jinx considers it strange that he is doing so without her, and describes Jason as a brave man.   

"I'm totally useless when it comes to choosing rings"

“That’s why I want your help – it’s no secret that I’m totally useless when it comes to picking rings.   I was thinking you’re artistic – you understand colours and things – and you know Kelly’s tastes.”

"I'm busy this afternoon"

Jinx tries to explain that he is busy this afternoon, but Jason is not discouraged;  “I know this is odd, but we’re adults, aren’t we?   

"You used to go out with Kelly . . ."

“You used to go out with Kelly and now you’re friends.   The last thing I want is for anyone to feel odd or awkward – 

". . . but if you're too busy . . ."

“but if you’re too busy, I understand.   Don’t worry.”

"What were you considering?"

The emotional blackmail seems to be working, and Jinx wonders what he was considering;  

"There's a jewellers in Llanarthur"

“There’s a jewellers in Llanarthur,” Jason begins, but is immediately told not to go there, as Kelly hates the shop.

"Next to the big car park in Carmarthen"

“Go to the one next to the big car park in Carmarthen,” he advises, 

"That's exactly why I need help"

and Jason points out that is exactly why he needs help.

“If you’re happy for me to make a mess of picking a wedding ring for your friend,” Jason goes on, 

"All right, then"

and Jinx finally agrees to accompany him.   

"Jinx, you're a hero!"

“Jinx, you’re a hero – do you know that?”

Mathew is on the phone to the hospital . . .

Mathew is on the phone to the hospital confirming the visiting hours, 

. . . and Sioned is cleaning the place up

while Sioned is working to clean up the flat.   “Can I come in to see her tomorrow?” he asks, and says that would be perfect.

"You two – are you . . ?"

Sioned feels very sorry for Tesni and enquires, “You two – are you . . ?”   He denies that, stressing that he would never go back there, and in any case she and Rhys are WhatsApping or DMing – whatever it is.

“I would never have put those two together – but there we are,” remarks Sioned.   Mathew says they seem pretty happy, and if Rhys had not taken the job in Cardiff, 

"I think they would be 'official' now"

he suspects that they would now be ‘official’.

"I don't blame Rhys for leaving"

“Well, I don’t blame Rhys for wanting to leave – we need a new start – a lot has happened over the last few months.   DJ and I are fine, but now is the right time for us,” insists Sioned.   

"I'm still gutted, you know"

Mathew says that he is still gutted, but appreciates that they know if they are ready to move on.

"You're the best nurse Tesni could hope for"

“You’ve got plenty on with Tesni moving in,” she tells him and he describes it as stressful.   “You’re the best nurse Tes could hope for.   I meant what I said – you’ve been there for me through a lot.   

"I don't know what I would have done without you"

“I don’t know what I would have done without you.   Right, that’s enough of being soppy – 

"Go and clean the toilet

“go and clean the toilet!” she instructs him.

Kelly is still patiently waiting

There are some struggling noises emitting from the changing rooms and Diane’s voice can be heard;  “I can’t get this dress on – haven’t they heard of zips in this century?”   Anita advises that she needs to try a bigger size, but Diane is sure that the sizes get smaller every day.   Meanwhile, Kelly is sitting, patiently waiting.

They seem to have chosen identical dresses . . .

At last they both emerge from the changing room, only to discover that they are wearing identical dresses, and Anita reveals that she is not very keen on that one anyway.

. . . but the one Amanda is modelling . . . WELL!

Then Amanda comes out, and shows them her rather scanty and unconventional attire;  they all look at her in amazement, 

"No!"

and Kelly emphatically tells her, “No!”  

"You're showing a bit too much skin"

 Anita maintains that she is showing a bit too much skin, 

"I'll want to show off my tan"

but Amanda insists that she will have a full-body tan for the wedding and will want to show it off.

"No, Mam – find something else!"

Kelly’s verdict is unaltered, “No, Mam – find something else!” so she goes off to do so, 

They are not impressed

as Diane and Anita look disgusted at her.

"It's not classy enough for me!"

“You can wear this one – it’s not classy enough for me,” Diane sneers.   

Kelly gets out her phone

Kelly picks up her phone, as she needs something to do.

"I can't wait to see Kelly's face!"

Back from Carmarthen, Jason cannot wait to see Kelly’s face;  “She’ll be so excited,” he says and assures Jinx that she has no idea that he is involved in it.   

"Oh – she's not very happy"

He receives a text message and remarks, “Here she is now – and it’s lucky I’ve got a surprise for her – she’s not very happy.   She’s out shopping with Mam, Amanda and Auntie Neet.”

"She says she's never talking to me again!"

He reads the message, “Where are you?   Why aren’t you answering your phone?   I’m never talking to you again!   And there’s one with language a bit more colourful than that,” he adds, “Do you think these rings will work?   Aren’t they a bit . . . plain?”

"Trust me, you won't get these at C James, Llanarthur"

“Just trust me, Jason, you won’t get these at C James, Llanarthur,” is the reply, and when Jason says he owes him a pint, 

"I don't think you can afford a pint after today"

Jinx adds, “I don’t think you can afford a pint after today.”

"I never get a chance to watch a film"

Gaynor remarks to Hywel, “Thank goodness for iPads – Esther is watching a film in bed,” and he complains that he never gets a chance to watch a film these days.   

"We pay for every streaming platform under the sun"

“Well, we have wine, we pay for every streaming platform under the sun, and more importantly, we have peace.”

Of course, that is the signal for the telephone to ring and they assume that it is John Jones again.   

Hywel finds there is no reply

Hywel answers, “Hello . . . hello,” but there is no reply.   

"Are you too afraid to say something this time?"

“Are you too afraid to say something this time?” he demands, but still there is silence, so he terminates the call and mutters, “Coward!”

"I'm going to give Ieuan Griffiths a mouthful!"

“I’m going to give Ieuan Griffiths a mouthful!” he decides, “It’s no wonder I don’t watch films with swines like that around!” 

Gaynor is left alone with her wine bottle

and he leaves the house.

"Has your phone stopped working or what?"

Mathew comes into the Deri where he finds Siôn;  “Has your phone stopped working or what?” he demands, and Siôn maintains that he completely forgot about Dylan’s number.   “Or you decided to keep it to yourself,” Mathew suggests.

"I just want what's best for Tesni"

Siôn apologises for sounding patronising earlier, but he just wants what is best for Tesni.   

"Nurse Price is ready to take over"

“Nurse Price is ready to take over,” Mathew informs him, as the number is transferred to his phone.

He immediately makes the call and will leave a message;  

"Everything is under control with Tesni"

“Hiya, Dylan, this is Mathew.   Just a quick call to tell you you’ve got nothing to worry about regarding Tesni – everything is under control.   See you, tara.”

Ieuan seeks culinary inspiration

Griffiths is at his desk at Tomos ac Ellis, looking at his phone for helpful hints on cooking, when Hywel walks in.   

"What did I tell you this morning?"

“What did I tell you this morning?” he rages, and thinks that he is interrupting something.

"I've been looking for a cook-along video"

Griffiths explains he has been looking for a cook-along video, as Anita is moving in tonight and he wants to cook for her.   

"John Jones has phoned me again"

“Forget that – John Jones has phoned me again!” Hywel continues.

"He promised he wouldn't phone again . . ."

Griffiths is adamant that he has sorted out that problem;  “He promised he would not phone again – he’s deleted your number.”   Hywel imagines that he has suddenly acquired a taste for chicken wings, 

". . . I made a generous contribution to the history society"

but it is explained that Griffiths has made a generous contribution to the history society.   

"I thought you'd be pleased"

“I thought you’d be pleased.   I’ve done my part, so if you haven’t got a decent recipé . . .” 

He is eager for Hywel to leave

and he motions to Hywel to leave.

Sioned returns to Deri Fawr . . .

At Deri Fawr, Sioned returns with the boxes for their packing, and DJ has sorted things into piles, a milking pile, a pile for going out, and a pile for sitting on the sofa with her. 

. . . and unexpectedly kisses him

She unexpectedly kisses him;  “I want to move on – and I’m trying,” she whimpers, 

"I'm just finding it difficult to be intimate"

“I’m just finding it difficult to be intimate,” but he stops her there, insisting that they have the rest of their lives to look forward to.   

"I'm not going anywhere, Sioned"

He assures her that he is not going anywhere 

He hugs her

and they hug each other.

"Well, that was a laugh, wasn't it?"

Anita, Amanda and Diane return to Bryntirion, with Amanda declaring, “That was a laugh, wasn’t it?”   The other two would not describe the experience like that.

"Put the kettle on, Kelly"

As Kelly follows them in, Diane asks her to put the kettle on for a cup of tea.   

"Well, I am the mother of the bride!"

Amanda is convinced that she looks amazing in her dress;  “Well, I am the mother of the bride,” she reminds them, and Anita points out she has told them that several times already.

Jason startles Kelly

Jason sneaks in through the back door and startles Kelly;  

"No, not really"

when he asks if she is all right, she replies, “No, not really.”   He has something which he thinks will change that.   

"What's that – a Chinese takeaway?"

“What’s that – a Chinese takeaway?” she demands, “Ice cream?  A massive bag of pick and mix?”

"No, but I've got this"

“No, but I’ve got this,” he announces, showing her a small box;  “I couldn’t let you start married life without a ring, so I’ve got both – open it, then.”

She looks spellbound . . .

She is initially speechless, but then gasps in amazement;  he assures her that he has kept the receipt, 

. . . then squeals with delight

but she exclaims, “No, no, they’re perfect!” and she squeals with delight, 

Kelly is ecstatic

embracing him.

"Look what I've got!"

She rushes into the other room, shouting, “Look what I’ve got!” and they are all similarly excited.   

Jason takes a photo

Jason captures the scene on his phone.

Jinx is already depressed . . .

Jinx is alone at Cysgod y Glyn when his phone vibrates, 

. . . but this is exacerbated . . .

and he seems to be in tears 

. . . when he sees the photograph 

as he looks at the photo of Kelly displaying her rings.
