Jason devours his salad

As Jason is eating his salad, Kelly remarks, “It is beautiful – isn’t it, Jase?   

"Another photo – don't make it too obvious"

“OK, take a photo – another one.   So I want the ring in the photo, but I don’t want it to be too obvious – so don’t make it too obvious, OK?”   

Jason does his best to obey

He does his best to comply with her instructions, 

"Yes, very subtle"

and thinks that the photo is very subtle.

"I can't believe you got this for me"

“I can’t believe you got this for me,” she sighs, “Seriously, Jase, it’s perfect.   

"You know that shop in Carmarthen?"

“OK – question – you know that shop in Carmarthen?”   He is afraid that she is getting near to the truth;  “Is that where you got it?”

"It might be"

He replies that it might be, 

Kelly has definitely got it in for the shop in Llanarthur

and she snarls, “At least, you didn't get it in that disgusting shop in Llanarthur – dis-gus-ting!”

"I did have some help choosing it, Kelly"

He confesses that he did have some help choosing the ring;  

"Who?"

“There’s no point asking from who – 

"I'm not saying"

“because I’m not saying.”

In her semi-conscious state . . .

Tesni is lying in her hospital bed and in her disorientated state 

. . . Tesni thinks she sees Dylan

imagines that she can see a blurred version of Dylan standing nearby.   However, when she looks again, he has gone, so she realises it was a figment of her imagination.

"I called into CwmFM earlier"

Hywel comes into Llwyncelyn and announces to Gaynor, “You’re not going to believe this – I called into CwmFM earlier, just to see that everything was OK, and it ended up with me doing an item tomorrow.”

"You haven't presented for years"

“You haven’t presented for years,” says Gaynor, and apparently he is reviewing films now.   He has been given a list which is all online, 

"Why don't we have a movie marathon?"

and suggests that they have a movie marathon today.   “Go and get the popcorn!” she enthusiastically tells him.

"Mathew?"

Tesni is lying, thinking, when she is conscious that there is someone by the foot of the bed;  “Mathew?” she says, and he wonders if she needs anything.   

He gets her a glass of water

He gets her a glass of water and asks how she is feeling now.

“Were you here earlier?” she asks 

"No, I've only just arrived"

and he says he has only just arrived.   

"I'm sure I saw Dylan"

“I’m sure someone was . . . Dylan,” she goes on, 

"Perhaps it was a doctor"

but Mathew does not think it could have been him, suggesting that perhaps it was a doctor.   

Tesni is confused

She looks very confused.

"I'm sorry I didn't come over the other night"

“I’m sorry I didn’t come over the other night – about Jinx, remember?   We were supposed to talk to him.”   

"We'll have to do that another time"

She replies that they will have to do that another time, and once again he asks whether that is a good idea.

"Perhaps he'll remember something"

“Perhaps he’ll remember something,” she says, and Mathew points out what the stress of worrying has done to her;  she is not OK, but is in hospital, imagining that she has seen her uncle.

"You have to start focusing on yourself"

“I know how important it is for you to get to justice for your mother, but, Tes, you have to start focusing on yourself.

Siôn is working in the Deri

Griffiths encounters Siôn working at a table in the Deri;  

"You haven't heard the news, then?"

“Good morning,” he says, “You look busy.   You haven’t heard the news, then?   Anita’s moving in with me.”   Siôn replies that he is very pleased for them.

"Are you?   It doesn't look like it"

“Are you?   It doesn’t look like it,” Griffiths continues, 

"I am rather busy"

but Siôn wants to be left in peace with his paperwork for Y Winllan.   He insists that he is happy for them both.

“Listen, have you contacted the council to take advantage of the new policy for help with energy costs?” Ieuan enquires, 

"It will help many companies who are struggling"

“It’s a good policy, which will help many companies that are struggling.”   Siôn makes it very clear that Y Winllan is not struggling.

"That's why you're working in the warmth of the Deri?"

“And that’s why you’re working here in the warmth of the Deri, is it?   Listen, I’ll get both of us a pint.”   Siôn seems surprised by his attitude.

Kelly walks along the High Street . . .

Kelly walks along the High Street with a knowing expression on her face 

. . . and believes she has worked it out

as she looks at her new ring.   

Jinx is on his way somewhere

When she reaches the corner and looks across towards Cysgod y Glyn, Jinx has just come out 

"Hey, Jinx!"

and she calls to him.

"I'm great, thanks"

He asks if she is OK and she replies, “Yes – great, thanks.   Look!” and she displays her ring.   

"That's lovely, Kelly"

Jinx does his best to look surprised and describes it as lovely.   “Perfect, actually – so thanks,” she goes on, “I know you helped Jason.”

"What are you talking about?"

He maintains that he has no idea what Kelly is talking about;  she insists, “You’re the only one who knows I hate that jewellery shop in Llanarthur, so . . .”   He is adamant that he has not told anyone;  she continues, 

"When you're lying, your nostrils flare . . ."

“And I know when you’re lying – your nostrils flare – 

". . . you're doing it now!"

you’re doing it now!” she laughs.

"Jason is amazing inn lots of ways, but . . ."

“Jason is amazing in lots of ways – but picking jewellery?   Not so much – unlike you!”   

"I may have helped him a little bit"

Jinx admits that perhaps he may have helped Jason a little bit, but he had to make sure it was a nice one if she is going to wear it for ever.

"Thanks for being you"

Kelly hugs him, whispering, “Thanks for being you,” just as Jason is approaching past ‘Y Lle Pizza’ [The Pizza Place]   

"Am I going to get a cwtch, then?"

He asks what is going on here, and wonders if he will get a cwtch, too.

"We've picked the paint colour – duck egg blue"

“Do you know what?   We’re celebrating, actually,” Kelly tells him, “Aren’t we, Jinx?   We’ve picked the paint colour for the pizza place – finally!   Duck egg blue, yeah, Jinx?”   

"I'll buy it today"

He says he will buy it today.

"The girls in the office haven't seen this"

“Do you know what?   I’ve got loads of work to do – and the girls in the office haven’t seen this, so ta-ra!” she says.

"Will you be in the flat around six?"

Jason asks Jinx if he will be in the flat later, around six;  he will call in, and Jinx looks puzzled, wondering why he will be coming, 

Jason heads towards APD

but Jason has already trotted across the road towards APD.

It is Dylan this time . . .

This time Dylan is really standing by the side of Tesni’s bed, 

. . . and Tesni reaches for the alarm button"

and when she sees who it is, she immediately reaches for the alarm button.   

"Give me a chance, please, Tes"

“No, please, don’t – give me a chance,” he pleads, 

"What are you doing here?"

and she demands what he is doing there.

"Making sure you're safe"

“I’m making sure you’re safe – Siôn and Mathew phoned me.  Gwyneth’s gone away, has she?”   

"She's been like family to me"

Tesni explains that it is only on holiday, and she will be back any day now.   “She’s not your friend, Tes,” he emphasises, but Tesni points out Gwyneth  has been like family to her.   “I wonder why,” he says.

  

"Because she cares about me?"

“Because she cares about me – because I don’t have anyone else?” Tesni tells him, “Where have you been?”

Dylan insists that it is not safe for her to be there;  “Gwyneth has a vendetta against me – against us all.   I know I’ve let you down, but I’ve come back to look after you – and the only way I can do that is to make sure you stay away from Gwyneth.   

"Because Gwyneth killed your mother!"

“Because she killed your mother!   Tesni shakes her head in disbelief.

Gaynor does not look very impressed

Hywel and Gaynor are watching the films, and he is surprised that she has only given the current one four out of ten.   

"A load of old, romantic rubbish"

She describes it as, “A load of old, romantic rubbish,” 

Hywel is quite emotional

but he seems to have found it quite emotional.

"A film about out relationship . . . "

“Hey, a film about our relationship would be interesting, wouldn’t it?” she suggests, as she opens the curtains.   

"A comedy or farce!"

He regards it as more of a comedy or farce, but she insists that it has not been that bad.

"It's nice to have some peace"

“It’s nice to have some peace to do something like this,” she goes on, and he remarks that it has been without someone phoning all the time.   “Don’t jinx things,” Gaynor warns him.   He needs to pick up Esther and then they will have dinner;  

"A horror film from Japan"

after that they will watch a horror film from Japan.

"I'm not going to let Gwyneth hurt you"

Dylan continues to explain, “The worst thing I ever did was drag your mother into my business, but I’m not going to let Gwyneth hurt you.   She killed your mother to get back at me – she could do the same to you, 

"I want you to come and live with me"

“so I want you to come and live with me.   The flat’s in Swansea – you’ll be safe there.”

"You can't expect me to believe everything you say"

Tesni tells him that he cannot just land there and expect her to believe everything he says, 

Then a further complication arrives

and at that minute, another visitor arrives in the form of Gwyneth.   

Dylan tells her to get out, now, 

"I'm here to make sure Tesni's all right"

but she insists that she is here to make sure Tesni is all right.

"She'll never be all right after what you did to her mother!"

“She’ll never be all right after what you did to her mother!” he growls, and warns Tesni not to listen to a word she says.   “You’ll never be safe with her!”

Gwyneth protests that she has looked after Tesni, 

Tesni wants them to stop

and after being asked to stop this bickering, 

"I'll come back tomorrow"

Dylan agrees to come back tomorrow.   

"You won't get away with this!"

But before he leaves, he snarls at Gwyneth, “You won’t get away with this!”   Tesni does not know what to think.

"It does sound like a good policy"

In the Deri, Siôn concedes that it does sound like a good policy;  “Fair play to the council.”   Ieuan stresses that it is important to look after local businesses, 

"There's no shame in asking for help"

and urges Siôn not to forget that there is no shame in asking for help.

"I'm afraid Y Winllan is beyond help"

Siôn has come to the conclusion that Y Winllan is beyond help, and Griffiths is surprised that he is considering closing the shop.   

"It happens to the best business people"

“Well, it happens to the best business people,” he remarks.

"It was a way of supporting Welsh literature"

“It was more than just a business to me – it was a way of supporting Welsh literature and giving something back to the nation,” but Griffiths reminds him that the future of the language is not completely dependent on him.

"Right, I'm making dinner tonight"

Now he must go, as he is making dinner tonight and is not sure what his cooking skills will be like after a couple of pints.   

"Anita has standards, doesn't she?"

“Anita has standards, doesn’t she?   She doesn’t like ready meals.”   

"Pasta was one of her favourites"

Siôn remembers that pasta was one of her favourites, and she never complained after that.

"Prawn Linguine it is then"

“You’ve got a good memory – I’ve got prawns in the fridge that need to be used – Prawn Linguine it is – good idea!   And if the energy policy doesn’t help with the bills, 

"A woman can keep you warm at night!"

“I know something else that can keep you warm at night – a woman!” Griffiths laughs.

Jason bring Jinx a case of Kronenburg

Jason comes up the stairs at Cysgod y Glyn and has brought a case of Kronenburg for Jinx, who says that he was happy to help.   Jason is pleased to hear that, 

"I might have to ask you for a little bit more help"

“Because I might have to ask you for a little bit more help.”

"You're not going to ask me to choose a dress?"

“You’re not going to ask me to choose a dress for Kelly as well?” Jinx hopes, 

"No – someone to organise the stag do"

but Jason needs someone to organise the stag do.   Jinx was under the impression that the best man did that.   

“Well, that’s the problem – I was going to ask Mathew or DJ, but I’ve seen the sort of party that they organise and I can’t be bothered with that.   

"I don't want any childish nonsense"

“I don’t want any childish nonsense – I definitely don’t want a stripper!   I just want a bit of fun, a good celebration and no-one going overboard.   I know I can trust you with that.”

Jason begs for his assistance

Jinx is understandably reluctant to get involved again, but Jason continues, “Come on – all you have to do is organise a party and be there on the day.   Anyway, I’m not just asking you to do this for me – 

"It would mean a lot to Kelly as well"

“I know it would mean a lot to Kelly as well.”

"All right – but no speech!"

Jinx says that he draws the line at a speech, but Jason can find plenty of people to do that.   “Do you like chicken fajitas?   

"You're having dinner with us tonight"

“You’re having dinner with us tonight – see you there – thanks, Jinx.”   Jinx is not sure that he should have agreed.

"How did the holiday go?"

Tesni is making small talk with Gwyneth;  “How did the holiday go?   The photos looked lush.”   Gwyneth complains that everything was ‘lush’, according to Cassie 

"I'm sorry about Dylan"

and she apologises for Dylan.   

Tesni says that it is not her fault;  “But I just feel responsible somehow – he hates me, 

"And I haven't done anything"

“and I haven’t done anything,” Gwyneth says, completely straight-faced.   “Tes, you’re one of my best friends – I wouldn’t be able to look you in the eye, never mind live with you, if . . .”

"I'm going to try and get some sleep now"

Tesni thinks that she is going to try and get some sleep now, as the doctor said that she needed to rest;  “And I want to go home as soon as possible.”   

"Just phone if you need anything"

She is told to phone if she needs anything, and is assured that Gwyneth is always there for her.   

Tesni does not know who she can trust

Tesni watches anxiously as she leaves the hospital ward.

Jason is busily cooking

Jinx arrives at Bryntirion, where Jason is in the middle of cooking;  

"I've been looking at flights"

“I’ve been looking at flights,” he says, so Jinx assumes this is for the honeymoon.   

"No – for the stag do . . ."

“No – for the stag do – I’m stuck between Amsterdam and Ibiza,” he adds, 

". . . only joking, Jinx!"

and then reveals that he is only joking.   

"A pint in the Deri would suit me fine"

“No, a pint in the Deri would suit me fine!”   Jinx believes that he can do better than that.

"I'm going to get changed into my pyjamas!"

Kelly comes home;  “Wow – fajitas – I’m going to get changed into my pyjamas!” 

"Hiya, Kelly"

but then she is surprised to see that Jinx is there.   It is explained that he is there in his new rôle as Jason’s best man, 

Jason has trouble with his fajitas

then Jason is warned that his fajitas are burning.   

They look . . .

Kelly

. . . at each other

 and Jinx look at each other.

The horror film is too horrifying

At Llwyncelyn, Gaynor cannot bear to look at the horror film and Hywel does not look as if he is enjoying it, either.   

"We don't have to watch this, do we?"

“We don’t have to watch this, do we?” he says and turns it off so they can have a break.   

"Where are you going, Hywel?"

She is worried where he is going, 

"Only to the toilet"

but he explains that it is only to the toilet.

Then the phone rings and Gaynor is convinced that it is John Jones again;  

Another silent call

once more there is no sound from the other end of the line, so she assumes that it is Hywel, playing a trick on her.   

"Very original, Hywel!"

“Hywel, it’s you, isn’t it?” she moans, “OK, very original – you can come downstairs now.”   

Then Hywel appears behind her

There is still no sound, and Gaynor is startled to find that Hywel is standing behind her.

“I don’t know who this is, but I’ve had enough – I want some peace,” she says, 

She removes the batteries from the phone

as she takes the batteries out of the phone.   With that and the horror film, she is feeling very nervous.

Mathew lounges on the sofa

Mathew is asleep on the sofa in the shop flat, when Tesni walks in, having discharged herself from the hospital.   

"Tes – what on earth are you doing here?"

“Tes – what on earth are you doing here?” he demands, “What has happened?”

"I came back in a taxi"

She does not know the answer to that, but came back in a taxi;  

"I just couldn't stay there"

“I couldn’t stay there with everything going on,” she tells him, “I know you would have come to pick me up – I just don’t know who to believe.”

"You're not well enough to be out, Tes"

He is concerned that she is not well enough to be out, 

"Please don't make me go back there!"

but she begs, “Please don’t make me go back there!”   

"I just want to make sure you're OK"

He will not do that, but just wants to be sure she is OK.   

"I just want Mam!"

“I just want Mam!” she wails 

Mathew hugs her

and Mathew hugs her.
