“OK – question – you know that shop in Carmarthen?” He is afraid that she is getting near to the truth; “Is that where you got it?”

and she snarls, “At least, you didn't get it in that disgusting shop in Llanarthur – dis-gus-ting!”

He confesses that he did have some help choosing the ring;

Tesni is lying in her hospital bed and in her disorientated state

imagines that she can see a blurred version of Dylan standing nearby. However, when she looks again, he has gone, so she realises it was a figment of her imagination.

Hywel comes into Llwyncelyn and announces to Gaynor, “You’re not going to believe this – I called into CwmFM earlier, just to see that everything was OK, and it ended up with me doing an item tomorrow.”

“You haven’t presented for years,” says Gaynor, and apparently he is reviewing films now. He has been given a list which is all online,

"Why don't we have a movie marathon?" |
and suggests that they have a movie marathon today. “Go and get the popcorn!” she enthusiastically tells him.

Tesni is lying, thinking, when she is conscious that there is someone by the foot of the bed; “Mathew?” she says, and he wonders if she needs anything.

He gets her a glass of water and asks how she is feeling now.
“Were you here earlier?” she asks

and he says he has only just arrived.

"I'm sure I saw Dylan" |
“I’m sure someone was . . . Dylan,” she goes on,

"Perhaps it was a doctor" |
but Mathew does not think it could have been him, suggesting that perhaps it was a doctor.

She looks very confused.

“I’m sorry I didn’t come over the other night – about Jinx, remember? We were supposed to talk to him.”

She replies that they will have to do that another time, and once again he asks whether that is a good idea.

“Perhaps he’ll remember something,” she says, and Mathew points out what the stress of worrying has done to her; she is not OK, but is in hospital, imagining that she has seen her uncle.

“I know how important it is for you to get to justice for your mother, but, Tes, you have to start focusing on yourself.

Griffiths encounters Siôn working at a table in the Deri;

“Good morning,” he says, “You look busy. You haven’t heard the news, then? Anita’s moving in with me.” Siôn replies that he is very pleased for them.

“Are you? It doesn’t look like it,” Griffiths continues,

but Siôn wants to be left in peace with his paperwork for Y Winllan. He insists that he is happy for them both.
“Listen, have you contacted the council to take advantage of the new policy for help with energy costs?” Ieuan enquires,

“It’s a good policy, which will help many companies that are struggling.” Siôn makes it very clear that Y Winllan is not struggling.

“And that’s why you’re working here in the warmth of the Deri, is it? Listen, I’ll get both of us a pint.” Siôn seems surprised by his attitude.

He asks if she is OK and she replies, “Yes – great, thanks. Look!” and she displays her ring.

Jinx does his best to look surprised and describes it as lovely. “Perfect, actually – so thanks,” she goes on, “I know you helped Jason.”

He maintains that he has no idea what Kelly is talking about; she insists, “You’re the only one who knows I hate that jewellery shop in Llanarthur, so . . .” He is adamant that he has not told anyone; she continues,

Jinx admits that perhaps he may have helped Jason a little bit, but he had to make sure it was a nice one if she is going to wear it for ever.

“Do you know what? We’re celebrating, actually,” Kelly tells him, “Aren’t we, Jinx? We’ve picked the paint colour for the pizza place – finally! Duck egg blue, yeah, Jinx?”

and she demands what he is doing there.

“I’m making sure you’re safe – Siôn and Mathew phoned me. Gwyneth’s gone away, has she?”

Tesni explains that it is only on holiday, and she will be back any day now. “She’s not your friend, Tes,” he emphasises, but Tesni points out Gwyneth has been like family to her. “I wonder why,” he says.
“Because she cares about me – because I don’t have anyone else?” Tesni tells him, “Where have you been?”
Dylan insists that it is not safe for her to be there; “Gwyneth has a vendetta against me – against us all. I know I’ve let you down, but I’ve come back to look after you – and the only way I can do that is to make sure you stay away from Gwyneth.

Hywel and Gaynor are watching the films, and he is surprised that she has only given the current one four out of ten.

“It’s nice to have some peace to do something like this,” she goes on, and he remarks that it has been without someone phoning all the time. “Don’t jinx things,” Gaynor warns him. He needs to pick up Esther and then they will have dinner;

Tesni tells him that he cannot just land there and expect her to believe everything he says,

and at that minute, another visitor arrives in the form of Gwyneth.

but she insists that she is here to make sure Tesni is all right.

“She’ll never be all right after what you did to her mother!” he growls, and warns Tesni not to listen to a word she says. “You’ll never be safe with her!”
Gwyneth protests that she has looked after Tesni,

Dylan agrees to come back tomorrow.

But before he leaves, he snarls at Gwyneth, “You won’t get away with this!” Tesni does not know what to think.

In the Deri, Siôn concedes that it does sound like a good policy; “Fair play to the council.” Ieuan stresses that it is important to look after local businesses,

Siôn has come to the conclusion that Y Winllan is beyond help, and Griffiths is surprised that he is considering closing the shop.

Jason comes up the stairs at Cysgod y Glyn and has brought a case of Kronenburg for Jinx, who says that he was happy to help. Jason is pleased to hear that,

Tesni thinks that she is going to try and get some sleep now, as the doctor said that she needed to rest; “And I want to go home as soon as possible.”

She is worried where he is going,

once more there is no sound from the other end of the line, so she assumes that it is Hywel, playing a trick on her.

“Hywel, it’s you, isn’t it?” she moans, “OK, very original – you can come downstairs now.”

There is still no sound, and Gaynor is startled to find that Hywel is standing behind her.
“I don’t know who this is, but I’ve had enough – I want some peace,” she says,

as she takes the batteries out of the phone. With that and the horror film, she is feeling very nervous.

Mathew is asleep on the sofa in the shop flat, when Tesni walks in, having discharged herself from the hospital.

She does not know the answer to that, but came back in a taxi;

“I couldn’t stay there with everything going on,” she tells him, “I know you would have come to pick me up – I just don’t know who to believe.”

He is concerned that she is not well enough to be out,

He will not do that, but just wants to be sure she is OK.
