he is quick to stress that it was not his fault, and that she is not safe there, and should go with him.
“I’ll look after you and keep you safe, Dan,” he assures her, but she says she cannot;

“Why – I’ve got plenty of money,” he goes on, but Dani points out that it is drug money. “Please don’t believe everything you’ve heard about me, Dan,” Dylan pleads,

In the bookshop, Siôn cannot stop looking at Tesni; he asks how her mother is.

“She’s complaining that she’s bored, which means that she’s getting better,” Tesni replies, “She’s finished your book already. I’m thinking of buying her another one, but I’m not sure what to get.”

Siôn points out that there is a series of three similar books, but Tesni suggests something a bit lighter;

He imagines she means something like Cassies’s novels, and Tesni wonders if they have anything like that at the moment.

Tesni is surprised to see that it is ‘Ten Erotic Stories’, and supposes that he ordered them after what Kath said; she asks if he has read them

He turns down a cup of coffee, as he has to get on with his novel, and Tesni warns him not to write anything too steamy.

He opens the laptop, but seems unable to concentrate on it, instead glancing up at Tesni.

Izzy is complaining to her father, “I did all the work – if it wasn’t for me, half those bills would never have been paid. But who gets the bonus? Mathew – it’s not fair!”

Colin replies that it is the nature of employment; “I get paid exactly the same, whether I sell one tin of sardines or a hundred.” Izzy cannot believe that he is happy that Eileen gets the profits although he does the work, but he points out that is how the world works; “It’s called capitalism.”

Iolo comes out of number 7, (still wearing that stupid hat) and looks around before advising Tyler that it is safe to come out.

Tesni has brought Siôn a drink to help with his concentration, but he refuses the offer of a biscuit; I’ve got a bit of writer’s block at the moment,” he complains, and she volunteers to read what he has written so far,

Mathew offers to get Izzy something stronger than lemonade but she refuses as they are not celebrating anything. He apologises that he could not give her the bonus. “Couldn’t or wouldn’t?” she whinges, “Even though I did all the hard work.”

“And Mathew owns APD, so we won’t have to pay for materials,” Izzy adds. Mathew is not sure what Jason would have to say about that, but she cannot imagine that Mathew would pay full price when he has a yard full of stuff he owns.
