Dylan come in through the back door . . . |
Dylan hurries in through the back door of Hywel’s house, and calls Rhys’ name;
![]() |
. . . and notices the place is in a mess |
then he surveys the scene around him, and hears a click.
![]() |
Garry is waiting for him |
Garry is sitting, waiting for his return.
![]() |
"Look what I found" |
“Look what I found,” he says, holding the gun, “I’ve spent months and months watching you, wondering how you run the drugs.”
Dylan maintains he has no knowledge of any drugs,
![]() |
"Don't try to deny it" |
and Garry laughs, “Don’t try to deny it.” Dylan replies that a gun does not prove anything about drugs,
![]() |
"Do you have a licence for this?" |
but is asked if he has a licence for it.
![]() |
"You break into my home and ransack the place" |
“You break into my home, ransack the place and what – you’re going to report me to the police for a gun that you can’t even prove belongs to me?” Dylan demands,
![]() |
"And that nonsense about drugs" |
“Oh yes, and some nonsense about drugs. Do you know what? Give me the phone and I’ll call them myself.”
![]() |
"This isn't nonsense" |
Garry picks up the bag, containing drugs and money, informing him, “This isn’t nonsense.”
![]() |
"You didn't find that bag here!" |
Dylan insists that he did not find the bag there.
![]() |
"You use school kids to deliver" |
Garry empties the bag on the table and the floor; he goes on, “You use school kids to deliver parcels and money – you give them a phone, you threaten them, and if they don’t keep quiet . . .”
![]() |
"Aaron can't stick to the rules" |
Dylan sneers, “Aaron can’t stick to the rules.”
![]() |
"Aaron is related to me!" |
Garry stands up and points the gun at Dylan’s head, sternly warning that Aaron is related to him.
![]() |
"Nine months ago, you pointed this gun at me" |
“Nine months ago, you pointed this gun at me in the forest – do you remember? Before dumping me in the river. It would be poetic justice if you were killed with the same gun,” Garry tells him,
![]() |
"You're not thinking straight, Gar" |
but Dylan accuses him of not thinking straight.
![]() |
"I haven't been thinking straight for a while" |
“I haven't been thinking straight for a while,” is Garry’s reply.
![]() |
"You'll end up getting thrown in prison" |
“But if you do kill me, you’ll end up getting thrown in prison,” says Dylan;
![]() |
"I've been thinking about this moment for nine months! |
Garry has been thinking about this moment for nine months – nine months to think about how he was going to get his revenge.
“Now then, you and I, we’re going for a little walk over to the Deri, and you’re going to confess everything to Dani.
![]() |
"We know how that option ends" |
“The other option is that we go for a drive in the car, into the forest – and we all know how that option ends.
![]() |
"What's it going to be?" |
“It’s up to you – what’s it going to be?”
![]() |
Dylan gives the matter some thought . . . |
Dylan appears to opt for going to the Deri, and closely followed by Garry,
![]() |
. . . and proceeds to the Deri . . . |
leaves the house and goes next door,
![]() |
. . . as Aled watches |
just as Aled comes out of the door of number 10 and sees them. He waves, but Dylan does not acknowledge him.
![]() |
Garry goes on and locks the door |
The door of the Deri closes and is locked behind them.
![]() |
Aled cannot get in . . . |
Aled goes towards the pub and is surprised to find the door locked;
![]() |
. . . so goes to consult Tesni |
he returns to the house to find Tesni.
![]() |
Garry listens for anyone there |
Inside the Deri, Garry checks to make sure no-one else is there,
![]() |
"There's a way out of this for us both" |
while Dylan proposes, “There is a way out of this this for both of us – it’s a very lucrative business.”
Garry takes this as an admission that he is a dealer; “Plenty of money for both of us, easily – you can have a share if you want – half of my share,” Dylan continues,
![]() |
"You'll be a partner, then" |
“50% is worth having and you’ll be a partner then. You could even help to grow the business – I know you like money as much as I do. Our business skills, working together!”
![]() |
"No, I don't think so" |
Garry answers, “No, I don’t think so.” Dylan cannot imagine that Garry is a legit businessman all of a sudden, but he is informed, “I don’t touch drugs, you know that,
![]() |
"I just don't like you, Dyl!" |
“but the main reason is I just don’t like you, Dyl! I never have!”
![]() |
"I know you've been sniffing around Daf" |
tells him, “I know you’ve been sniffing around Daf – you’ve obviously been looking for a way in.”
![]() |
"No – looking for a way to get revenge" |
He is corrected by Garry; “I’ve been looking for a way to get revenge,” but he is still urged to think about it – plenty of money to do whatever he chooses.
![]() |
"You're ruining people's lives" |
“You’re ruining people’s lives!” Garry snarls, but Dylan protests that he does not sell the drugs.
![]() |
"Oh no – school kids do your dirty work!" |
“Oh no – school kids do your dirty work!” growls Garry. Dylan refers to refer to it as an effective business model.
“Business model? Tell that to Aaron!” Garry yells, and is informed that he is going to make Daf angry, and if he is not afraid of Daf, he ought to be. “I’ll stop him as well!” Garry predicts.
![]() |
"Oh – Garry Monk the saint!" |
“Oh – Garry Monk, the saint!” Dylan laughs, “You haven’t got a clue!”
![]() |
Cassie arrives and is shocked by the gun |
Suddenly the door opens and Cassie arrives for her shift; she immediately notices the gun in Garry’s hand,
![]() |
"We're here to see Dani" |
and he tells her not to be scared, as they are there to see Dani.
“Let’s go upstairs now – he is going to confess everything to Dani,”
![]() |
"I'm not going to do that, Gar" |
but Dylan refuses to do that. Cassie advises that, as Garry has the gun,
![]() |
"It might be wise – he's got a gun" |
it might be wise to do what he wants. Garry makes it clear to her it is the same gun which was used to shoot him; “Don’t worry, Dyl, Cassie knows everything, don’t you?”
He shouts at Dylan to shut up, and orders him to go upstairs,
![]() |
"Stop it now!" |
but Cassie screams at them both to stop; “No, Garry – you’re not going upstairs!
![]() |
"The children are up there!" |
“The children are up there – think! I’ll go up, and send Dani down.”
![]() |
Cassie goes up to fetch Dani |
He asks her to stay up there with the children.
![]() |
"Are you lost? The bar's downstairs!" |
Dani is unwelcoming, pointing out, “Are you lost or what? The bar’s downstairs!”
![]() |
"Can you ask Gwern to leave?" |
Cassie tells her to instruct Gwern to leave,
![]() |
He reluctantly does so |
and he is asked to go and check that Seren is not making a mess. When they are alone Cassie reports that Garry and Dylan are in the bar.
![]() |
"Arguing, are they? Nothing to do with me" |
“Arguing, are they?” Dani assumes, “It’s nothing to do with me – they have to sort it out themselves.”
![]() |
"No, it's not that . . ." |
She is told that the situation is somewhat different,
![]() |
". . . Garry has a gun!" |
as Garry has a gun.
![]() |
"Taking her time, isn't she?" |
Downstairs, the two of them wait in silence; “She’s taking her time, isn’t she?” says Dylan, but Garry is confident she will be down shortly.
![]() |
"The first thing she'll see is you pointing a gun at me" |
He is reminded, “When she comes down, the first thing she’ll see is you pointing a gun at me.”
![]() |
"But when you tell her the truth . . ." |
Garry confirms this, adding, “Then she’ll listen to you when you tell her the truth.” Dylan is doubtful about that, as she has not listened so far, but Garry maintains he has proof of it this time.
![]() |
"You've got a long track record of lying to her" |
Yeah, and a long track record of lying to her,” Dylan reminds him,
![]() |
"I saved Rhys' life – and Kelly's life!" |
“Did you know I missed our baby’s scan because I was busy saving Rhys’ life? Just like I saved Kelly’s life – I’m a hero in Dani’s eyes!”
![]() |
"That won't last much longer" |
Garry is sure that will not last for much longer.
![]() |
"You disappeared without a word" |
“You disappeared without saying a word to her or the children,” Dylan continues, and Garry realises he just cannot stop talking
“She won’t believe a word I say while you’re pointing that at me,” Dylan suggests.
![]() |
"Since when do those two go for a pint together" |
Aled is telling Tesni, “It was odd – Garry was following him and they weren’t talking – since when do those two go for a pint together?” She acknowledges that it is unlikely, and he continues that something was wrong with his father, and he did not even say hello.
![]() |
They try to see what is going on |
They find that the door is still locked and Tesni climbs on a table to look in through the window.
![]() |
They hear the shouts from outside |
Inside, they hear the voices shouting
![]() |
"Get down, now!" |
and Garry orders Dylan to get down;
![]() |
"Determined to make things worse for yourself" |
“You’re determined to make things worse for yourself, aren’t you?” he says,
![]() |
"I can hear voices, Aled" |
and outside, Tesni says she can hear voices. “People are out looking for me already,” Dylan smirks.
![]() |
"Where is Dani?" |
Garry is concerned that Dani has not come down, and momentarily stops watching Dylan,
![]() |
That chair is a blur in Dylan's hands . .. |
who seizes the opportunity and smashes Garry to the floor with a chair,
![]() |
. . . and he shouts with delight |
whooping with delight.
![]() |
"Right, I'm going down" |
Upstairs, they hear the noise and Dani is about to go down,
![]() |
"Remember you're pregnant" |
but Cassie dissuades her until they know what is happening; “You’re pregnant – you have to be careful.”
![]() |
Garry comes round . . . |
Garry regains consciousness,
![]() |
. . . but is not quick enough to seize the gun |
but Dylan picks up the gun before he can retrieve it;
![]() |
"What are you going to do now?" |
“Don’t move – what are you going to do now?” Dylan taunts him.
![]() |
"He could kill Dylan!" |
Upstairs, Dani is panicking; “Are you sure Garry has a gun – he could kill Dylan!”
![]() |
"You have to call the police, Dani" |
Cassie instructs her that she has to call the police, but Dani maintains they can sort this out.
“The children are up here, and there’s a gun down there,” Cassie stresses,
![]() |
"Dylan's not the man you think he is" |
“I know you don’t like me, but you have to trust me. Dylan’s not the man you think he is.” Dani replies that Garry has put all this nonsense into her head.
![]() |
"Dylan had shot him, and dumped his body" |
Cassie goes on, “Garry didn’t disappear of his own accord – when he ran away with Jaclyn, and she came back to the village, Garry had disappeared because Dylan shot him! And then dumped his body in the water!”
![]() |
This seems to shut Dani up |
This tends to take the wind out of Dani’s sails.
![]() |
"She's not coming, Gar" |
With the gun still trained on him, Garry laughs that at least Dani will believe him now; Dylan warns, “She’s not coming, Gar, not with the children upstairs.
![]() |
"Cassie won't let her come down" |
“Cassie’s told her about the gun – Dani’s pregnant – she’s not going to let her come down here.”
![]() |
"She knows I wouldn't hurt her" |
Garry is of the opinion that Dani knows he would not hurt her, but Dylan suspects that she is now phoning the police; “We’ve got two choices now, thanks to you – die or become a murderer.”
![]() |
"You could tell her the truth" |
Garry thinks of another choice – that he could tell Dani the truth.
“You couldn’t do it before, could you?” he sneers, but Dylan emphasises that he is in control this time.
![]() |
"People know – Cassie, Aaron" |
“But this time, people know – Cassie, Aaron – and he knows about Jamie too.” Dylan answers that he did not kill Jamie; “That’s not what you told Aaron,” says Garry, but he is told that it was a threat to frighten him – and he was so stupid, he believed it.
“Come on, then – shoot me,” invites Garry, “At least my family will be safe with you in prison.”
![]() |
"Daf will work out who opened their mouth" |
Dylan reminds him that Aaron will not be safe, as Daf will work out who opened their mouth; “He found out who Guto was, before attacking him with acid – they got the wrong bloke – Guto was the target – to punish me!
![]() |
"There's no way out for anybody" |
“So do you see? There’s no way out for anybody – they’ll wait long enough until everyone feels safe, then they’ll attack Aaron, Gwern, Seren, Dani and even the baby. Now do you see what sort of fire you’ve decided to play with?”
![]() |
Jaclyn has now arrived |
Jaclyn has just come in and witnessed this, and says that wherever they went, Daf would find them.
![]() |
"You're lying through your teeth!" |
“I’ve been here long enough to hear you lie through your teeth and threaten him with Aaron.”
![]() |
"I'm not letting you destroy Garry's family!" |
but she is not going to let him destroy Garry’s family, like he destroyed their family.
![]() |
"He's the one about to destroy everything!" |
Dylan is adamant that it is Garry who is about to destroy everything, and Garry is surprised that she knew about drugs.
![]() |
"Did you want to run away with me at all?" |
“Did you want to run away with me at all? Or did you just want to get me out of the way – to help him?”
![]() |
"She's very good at helping, aren't you, Jacs?" |
Dylan points out that Jaclyn it Is very good at helping; “Do you remember Bethan? You might know her as Jessie – red hair – Gwyneth is in prison for killing her. Jaclyn helped to move the body, didn’t you? And you were about to run away with her!”
![]() |
"Were you going to help move my body as well?" |
Garry demands, “Were you going to help move my body by the river as well?” but she insists she knew nothing about that, and did want to run away with him. “How many lies did you tell me?” he asks.
![]() |
"You could make a deal with the police" |
She recommends that they should go to the police, and with everything that Dylan knows, he could make a deal with them; she can see no other way out. “Tell the police everything – and everyone’s families will be safe.”
![]() |
"No-one's going to the police!" |
Dylan is becoming increasingly unhinged, as he screams that no-one is safe, and no-one is going to the police.
![]() |
He waves the gun in a dangerous fashion |
He is waving the gun around in a very erratic fashion, so that Garry demands, “Point the gun at me!” Dylan yells that he got Dani pregnant because of Jaclyn,
![]() |
Jaclyn tries to separate them |
who goes to stand between the two of them – in hindsight a rather unwise move.
![]() |
"Don't make me shoot you!" |
“Don’t make me shoot you!” Dylan shouts, and as they continue to rant at each other,
![]() |
The single gunshot rings out |
the noise can be heard from upstairs, followed by the sound of a gunshot.
![]() |
"Stay here – I'll go down" |
Cassie forbids Dani from going downstairs, but will go and investigate herself.
![]() |
Aled also hear the shot |
The sound of shouting is coming from outside the Deri, as Tesni and Aled are still trying to gain access.
![]() |
Dylan gets back to the house next door |
Dylan sneaks in through the back door of Hywel’s house
![]() |
He is in a tremendous rage |
and in a fury, sweeps everything off the kitchen table.
![]() |
He starts to pick up the drugs |
He starts picking up the drugs and money and replacing them in the bag, then throws it down in anger;
![]() |
Dylan is really panicking |
he is in an utter panic.
![]() |
Cassie is distraught |
Cassie is distraught at the sight which greets her;
![]() |
Garry is stunned |
Dani looks in through the door, as Garry, stunned,
![]() |
"I didn't do this" |
is staring at the inert body of Jaclyn on the floor; “I didn’t do this,” he groans,
![]() |
Dani gets out her phone |
“Phone an ambulance,” and Dani does so.
