Tesni arrives at the bookshop

Tesni arrives in the shop and Siôn is surprised to see her;  “I thought you would be in the hospital,” he says, and she reports that her mother is still very weak.   She will go back there after her shift.

"I don't expect you to work"

“With everything that’s going on, I don’t expect you to work,” Siôn tells her, 

"I enjoy the company"

but she insists there is a lot to do and she enjoys the company.   He is sure that he will be all right on his own.

“You’re so good to me – I think keeping busy is the best thing,” Tesni continues, 

"Do you think that's wise, after the business with Dylan?"

but he wonders if that is wise, after everything that has happened – all the business with Dylan.   

"What have they been saying?"

She looks puzzled;  “What have people been saying?” and he replies that she knows what people are like – 

"Pointing the finger without evidence"

they point the finger without any evidence.

“I don’t want people bad-mouthing Uncle Dyl,” she says, and Siôn thinks that some time off would be best;  

"Go home, before I change my mind"

he urges her to go before he changes his mind.

She heads across the road

As she walks across the street, Dani comes out of the doggie parlour 

"You need to know the truth about Dylan"

and happens to encounter Garry;  “You need to know the truth about Dylan!” he tells her, but she tries to ignore him, 

"You're not safe with him – the children aren't safe!"

as he goes on, “You’re not safe with him – the children aren’t safe!   Please, just listen to me.”

"I don't have to do what you say!"

She stops and snaps, “I don’t have to do what you say!”   He asks where Dylan is;  “Why?   so you could follow him with a gun?” Dani demands.   

"Did you know he forced Aaron to deal drugs?"

He points out that he simply wants Dylan in jail;  “Did you know he forced Aaron to deal drugs?”   This comes as rather a surprise to Dani, and we can see Sara in the background, by the shop.   “Yes, he’s the drug dealer – he’s the one that caused everything to go wrong around here.”

"I never thought you'd go this far"

Dani simply laughs at him;  “Garry, I knew that divorcing you wouldn’t be easy, but I never thought you would go this far.”   He makes it clear that he would never lie about Aaron and drugs, 

Sara is interested in this

as Sara is taking an interest in this conversation.

“Do you remember trying to force me to have an abortion?” Dani asks, 

"No-one is safe, including that baby!"

but he insists that no-one is safe, including that baby, until Dylan is in jail.   

"The only person going to jail is you, Garry!"

She smiles as she tells him, “The only person going to jail is you, Garry!” and she goes into the Deri.

"Why did you say you'd seen me holding the gun?"

Cassie happens to be walking along the street, so Garry calls to her, “Why did you say you’d seen me holding the gun?”   She answers that the gun was in his hand.   “I thought that you, of all people, would have forgotten that,” he growls.

"Perhaps we've come to rely on each other too much"

“Well, perhaps we’ve come to rely on each other too much,” she informs him, and continues along the street.

Sara is back at number 9

Sara arrives home at number 9 

Her arm is still very painful . . .

and feels a sudden twinge of pain in her arm 

. . . as can be clearly seen

when taking off her coat;  she picks up the phone and makes a call to Jason.   

"Can you bring Ifan here, please?"

“Hiya, Jase, can you bring Ifan here, please?   I’ve promised to make a cake with him and I don’t want the ingredients to go off – 

"You don't mind, do you?"

“you don’t mind, do you?”   She is still extremely worried.

Now Garry has come into the Deri

By the bar in the Deri, Dani is again confronted by Garry;  

"I'll tell the police you're harassing me"

“Do you want me to tell the police you’re harassing me?” she asks him.

Once again he tries to get through to her that she cannot trust Dylan;  

"These people don't mess about, Dani"

“He’s part of something much bigger than you or I are used to – these people don’t mess about.   I’m going away and I want you and the kids to come with me.”

"It would make my life much easier"

“If you want to go away, Garry, go – it would make my life much easier,” she tells him, and when he insists that they need to come with him, she puts her foot down.   

"It's Dylan's home, when he comes back"

“No, we don’t – Cwmderi is our home – and Dylan’s, when he comes back.”

“I’m not leaving without Gwern and Seren!” he vows, but she points out they are used to him disappearing – they will not notice he has gone.   There is nothing keeping him here, so she instructs him to go and enjoy himself while he can – before they put him in jail for what he did.   

He has not been able to persuade Dani

Realising that she will not be convinced, he leaves the Deri.

Tesni discovers a flooded floor . . . 

A letter is delivered to number 10, and Tesni picks it up, then discovers that the floor is all wet and she has no idea what to do about it.   

. . . emanating from a pipe under the sink

She looks under the sink to find a pipe leaking and immediately phones Siôn, pleading for his help;  

"Can you help me, Siôn?"

“The pipe under the sink has burst and there’s water everywhere,” she wails, “Can you help me, please?”   

"I'll sort out something"

He agrees that he will sort out something.

"It's not safe for me here"

Garry arrives at the chip shop flat and informs Britt that he is going away for a while;  “It’s not safe for me here – I’m not going to stay here and give Dylan a chance to try to kill me for the third time!”   She draws his attention to the rest of the family – Dani and the children.

"Dani doesn't want to know"

“I’ve asked Dani and the children to come with me – she doesn’t want to know,” he groans, “You can come with me.”

"Hold on, Gar – the Monks never run away"

“Hold on, Gar – the Monks never run away,” she reminds him, but he says that he just needs time.   “You need to think about this sensibly before deciding anything,” she tells him and rushes out of the flat.

There must be a spate of burst pipes in Cwmderi

Iolo has been engaged on a plumbing job at Cysgod y Glyn and informs Ffion that she can now use the kitchen tap;  he cannot stay for a cup of tea, as he has to pick up Greta.

“That’s disappointing – I was hoping to have a chat with you,” she says, 

"A little bird has told me  you're 'loved-up'"

“A little bird has told me that you’re ‘loved-up’.   Come on, then, I want to know everything.”   

"It's still early days"

He replies that it is still early days and there is nothing to say.   “Well, I’m glad you’ve found someone nice at last – 

"You deserve a bit of happiness after Tyler"

“you deserve a little bit of happiness after Tyler,” she goes on.

"What did you think of us when we were together?"

He wonders what she thought of him and Tyler when they were together, and she answers, “Well, you seemed happy enough, but Tyler’s like Hywel – 

"He doesn't really know what he wants, does he?"

“he doesn’t really know what he wants, does he?   The second someone new turns up, off they go, every time.   

"I want to know about this Brychan"

“Come on, I want to know about this Brychan.”

"I have to go, Ffion"

Iolo simply says that he is nice, and then has to go;  

"Come over for dinner"

“When you and Brychan are ready, come over for dinner,” she invites him. 

Dani is going back to 'Chi a'r Ci'

Dani is again walking along the street when she is accosted by Britt;  “I want a word with you,” she says, 

"He forced my son to be a drug dealer"

“Garry’s not lying – your boyfriend forced my son to be a drug dealer.”   

"Dylan wouldn't do that"

Dani is quite sure that Dylan would not do that.

"Wake up, Dani!"

“Wake up, Dani – Aaron doesn’t lie!” Britt snarls, but Dani points out that Aaron worships Garry and would do anything to keep him happy.   “Stop being so naïve,” she is told, “We have to be very careful in this situation, because Dylan and his friends are very dangerous.”

"I know what a dangerous man is – I was married to one!"

“I know what a dangerous man is, Britt – I was married to one!” Dani snarls, but Britt insists that Garry is only trying to protect her.   

"Garry's trying to control my life"

“No – Garry is trying to control my life, like he always does!” Dani rages, “You know what?   I hope he’s packing, because if he comes near me again, I’m going to report him for harassment – you’re wrong, Britt, OK?   I want him out of my life!”

Anita is moaning, as usual

Anita arrives at number 10, having been summoned by Siôn;  “I don’t know what you phoned him, because I’m your landlady,” she moans, then she sees the flooded floor, 

"Have you turned the stopcock off?"

demanding, “What have you done?   Have you turned the stopcock off?”   She immediately does so, and wants to know why Tesni did not phone Iolo straight away;  

"Haven't you got any sense in that head of yours?"

“Haven’t you got any sense in that head of yours?”

"The best idea is for you to leave for a while"

Britt returns to Garry in the flat;  “I’ve been thinking, and perhaps the best idea is for you to leave Cwmderi for a while – to sort your head out.”   

"You've changed your tune, Britt"

He is surprised that she has changed her mind, and she explains he will not be running away, but rather keeping a low profile 

"Until Jaclyn tells everyone what Dylan is"

until Jaclyn tells everyone who and what Dylan is.   “Yeah, you and Dani need some space as well.   You’re only making the situation worse – she’ll learn the truth soon enough, believe you me.   Then she’ll be sorry.”

Garry is ready to depart

Garry picks up his bag, and Britt demands where he will go, but he is not yet sure, and tells her to look after the children;  

"Make sure nothing happens to the children"

“Make sure nothing happens to them – and look after yourself, too.”

Tyler is another recipé guineapig

Tyler comes in the back door of number 7 with a surprise for Iolo;  “I’m going to cook a special dinner for you and Greta,” he announces, displaying one of Cae Glas’s boxes.

"Garry's gone away"

Iolo has just found a note to say that Garry has gone away, and is about to tell Tyler something, but is interrupted.   

"We won't have to sneak around any more"

“That’s great – we won’t have to sneak around any more,” says Tyler, “You have no idea how difficult things have been in the Deri.   

"Thank goodness I can escape here"

“Thank goodness I can escape here – I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

"I have to go and help Anita"

Iolo looks uncomfortable and says he has to go to number 10 to help Anita;  

"Can you look after Madam?"

he will leave Tyler in charge of Greta.

Garry is travelling light

Garry throws his bag into the boot of his car and is seen by Sara;  

"A long way from here"

he tells her he is going a long way from there, 

"Things aren't that bad, are they?"

but she did not think things were that bad.   

"I think you know that already"

“It’s not safe here – but I think you know that already.”

She finds it difficult to believe that he is frightened, 

"That burn wasn't an accident, was it?"

and he enquires, “What’s that burn on your arm?   It wasn’t an accident, was it?   If you’ve got any sense, you’ll leave too, because next time it won’t be a little burn.”

She maintains that she is not frightened of them, 

"You should be frightened"

but he suggests that she ought to be, as he gets into his car, 

Garry drives away from Cwmderi

and then  drives away.

"I've lost him again, Col"

Britt tells Colin that she has lost her brother again;  

"He'll be back – he always comes back"

“He’ll be back – he always comes back – you know what Garry’s like,” Colin replies.   She is not so sure this time, and even if he does come back he will go to prison.   Colin points out that he has not done anything wrong.

"What if Jaclyn says he shot her?"

“What if Jaclyn wakes up and says he shot her?” frets Britt, “Blood’s thicker than water, and I know that better than anyone.   Colin is confident that Jaclyn will tell the truth about what happened, but Britt points out he does not know that. 

"You're going to make yourself ill, Britt"

“It won’t do you any good to let these thoughts go round and round in your head – you’re going to make yourself ill!” he warns, “And that’s not going to help Garry, is it?”   

"I've already lost one brother . . ."

She says that she has already lost one brother and does not want to lose the other one.

"We have to wait for the truth to come out"

“You’re not going to lose him – all we have to do now is wait until the truth comes out,” he assures her.

"You can make us breakfast in bed tomorrow"

“Right, lazy-bones, as I cooked today, I thought you could make us breakfast in bed tomorrow morning – what do you say?” asks Tyler, 

"There's no problem with me staying, is there?"

“Now Garry’s gone, there’s no problem with me staying, is there?”   

"I don't think that's a good idea, Ty"

Iolo does not think that is a good idea, but Tyler continues that they have the house to themselves, so what is the problem.

"How do I know you've really changed?

Rather awkwardly, Iolo, demands, “How do I know you’ve really changed?   Dad, Ffion and Kelly have said a few things.”   

"I don't care what they think"

Tyler does not care what they think about him, but it is what Iolo thinks that is important.

"We're either together, or we're not"

“Brilliant – we’re either together, or we’re not,” Tyler summarises, “Fine, whatever.   I’m not the problem here – 

"You're looking for an excuse for this not to work"

“you’re just looking for an excuse for this not to work.   You’re the one who hasn’t changed.”   With that he leaves the house.

That appears to be a two-man job

Mathew is trying to shift a heavy box containing a combi boiler when Sara appears at APD;  

"There's something I need to tell you"

she advises, “There’s something I need to tell you – I know the truth about what happened to you last year.   

"You weren't the target – Guto was"

“You weren’t the target – Guto was.   Someone wanted revenge against Dylan – a drugs deal gone wrong or something.   I can’t believe I almost married him!”

"Why are you here, Sara?"

Mathew wants to know why she is there, 

"I thought you'd want to know the truth"

and she assumed he would want to know the truth.   

"And what difference does the truth make?"

He growls, “And what difference does the truth make?   It’s not going to change the fact the scars are still there.   

"You chose to be with him – I had no choice"

“You chose to be with him – I had no choice with what happened.”

"I didn't know him"

She protests that she had no choice either, because she did not know him.   “I don’t know what’s going on between you, him and the police, but I don’t want anything to do with it – 

"Just leave me alone, Sara!"

just leave me alone, Sara!” he instructs her.  

"She leaves APD in tears"

She tearfully walks out of the shop.

"Does she ever stop complaining"

Anita is complaining again;  “£100 because of one little pipe!   I was hoping for a discount, as he’s your son!”   

"He is trying to run a business, Anita"

Siôn reminds her that Iolo is trying to run a business, but she will not be silenced.   

"There's a £20 call-out fee"

“There’s a £20 call-out fee – he’s only across the road!   And he said I might have to take all the tiles off because of water damage.   How much is that going to cost me?   Stupid girl – what’s wrong with her?”

"It wasn't Tesni's fault"

Siôn, who has been trying to read the Western Post, points out that it was not Tesni’s fault, which causes Anita to ask, “Whose side are you on?   You’re a soft touch, do you know that?   

"What is it with you and that girl?"

“What is it with you and that girl?”

He replies that she is going through a lot at the moment, but Anita is determined she is not going to pay all that bill;  

"I'm not made of money!"

“I sympathise with the family situation, but I’m not made of money!”

"All right, I'll have a word with Iolo"

Siôn is getting tired of this, so agrees he will have a word with Iolo;  

Siôn has had nearly enough of her

she tells him to make sure that he does.   Siôn may be regretting that he allows her to stay in the house.

The elaborate cake has been reduced to crumbs . . .

Sara enters number 9 and is aghast to see that the cake she has made has been mutilated beyond recognition on the table;  

. . . its place in the tin taken by a dead rat

inside the cake tin she discovers a dead rat, and screams, throwing the tin on the floor.   

Sara is hysterical

She is hysterical.
