"You were very brave, talking to the police"

“You were very brave, talking to the police – I’m proud of you,” says Colin,

Britt thinks otherwise

but Britt obviously does not share his opinion;

"I'm scared Dylan will find out"

Aaron is scared that Dylan will find out that he phoned them.   “Don’t worry about him now, all right?

"You heard DI Wilkinson"

“You heard DI Wilkinson – they’re going to protect you – that’s why the police want you to go away for a while, so they can help you deal with everything.   They say that you were misled into all this.”

"I don't want to go"

Aaron does not want to go but is told that he will not be there for long;  “Mam’s angry with me,” he groans, as her phone sounds, and Colin urges him to give her time.

"Yeah – right!"

“Yeah, Britt Monk,” she says, then jumps up from her seat, adding, “Right!”

Megan is not exactly welcome

Megan goes to visit Hywel at Llwyncelyn, but he maintains he is busy;  “Please, Hywel – it’s important,” she tells him,

"We all need to talk about difficult things"

“It wasn’t easy for me to come here today – but I think we all need to learn to talk about difficult things.”

"Going to criticise me again, are you?"

He is expecting her to criticise him again, but on the contrary, she wants to thank him.

"What you said was completely true"

“What you said about me was completely true – I wasn’t a good mother to the children, and it’s about time I acknowledged that,” she continues.

"I didn't mean to upset anyone"

He says that he did not mean to upset anyone, but she accepts that what he said was true;

"Let him who is without sin cast the first stone"

“Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.”   He agrees that he has not been an angel

"Tea or coffee, Megan?"

and asks whether she would like tea or coffee;  she opts for a cup of tea.

Ffion is one of the recipé box 'guinea pigs'

Sioned has taken one of her sample recipé boxes to Cysgod y Glyn, where, for some reason, Eifion is there with Ffion.

Why is Eifion there with her?

“Is it all right if we cook together?” Ffion asks, and he remarks that cooking is more fun when done together.

But there is a catch

“Remember you only get this box for free if you post photos and a review on the website,” Sioned informs them, adding that Jaclyn prepared all the boxes,

"Any news about Jaclyn?"

and Ffion asks if there is any news about her.

"She's still too weak to talk"

“Mam talked to Tesni this morning – Jaclyn’s woken up, but is sedated and too weak to talk,” Sioned replies, and Ffion realises that it must be hard for Tesni  with her father and brother in South America.

"And Dylan's on the run!"

Eifion adds that Dylan is on the run.   Sioned is on her way to a take box to Tesni now.

Ffion excitedly opens the box,

One of the contents displeases Ffion

but is dismayed when she takes out one of the items.

Garry has temporarily dropped off

Garry appears to have fallen asleep in the interview room, but is woken by the arrival of DI Wilkinson,

"You're free to go"

who announces, “You’re free to go.”   Garry cannot believe this, and is told that his sister is on the way with clothes for him.

"Have you arrested Dylan?"

Before he walks out of the door, Garry demands if they have arrested Dylan, but there is no answer;  he is simply thanked for his co-operation.

"I don't remember ever questioning my mother and father"

“I don’t remember ever questioning my mother and father,” says Megan,   “That’s why I couldn’t understand why the children chose to live a different life than the one I’d imagined for them.

"I regret not listening to the children"

“I regret not listening to them, but there we are – I avoided talking about the important things because I didn’t want to acknowledge that there were problems in our relationship.”

Hywel concedes that things have not been great between him and his son;

"I have been trying – but he doesn't want me"

“But I have been trying with him recently – he doesn’t want me.”

"And you're going to let him deal with his problems alone?"

Megan cannot believe that Hywel is going to let his son deal with his problems alone.

"I can't force him to agree with me"

“Megan, he’s a adult – I can’t force him to agree with me and accept my help,” Hywel protests.

She agrees that was her attitude exactly, and tells him to look at the situation she is in today;  “I haven’t seen the children for years and I can’t remember the last time we had a phone conversation.

"Don't make the same mistakes I made"

“Don’t make the same mistakes I made – listen to Rhys.   And remember that you came within a hair’s-breadth of losing him.”

Hywel seems to be taking notice

Her message appears to be getting through to Hywel.

Garry's back!

Garry is back in the village, walking along the High Street, when he passes the alley,

"You're free, then"

a voice says, “You’re free, then.”   It is Daf, who then slinks back into the shadows;

"I'm innocent!"

Garry points out that he is innocent,

"What did you tell the cops?"

and Daf demands what he told the cops, as they have been looking for him.

“I didn’t say anything – a deal is a deal,” Garry assures him,

"I wanted Dylan out of the village – job done!"

“I wanted Dylan out of the village, and he’s gone – job done!”   So saying, he resumes walking along the street, but Daf is thinking of who else could have mentioned his name.

"This is the best idea we've had!"

Sioned is very excited about the new venture;  “I honestly think this is the best idea we’ve had,” she tells her mother, as she pours glasses of Prosecco.

"To Cae Glas!"

They drink a toast to, “Cae Glas!”

Then Eifion turns up

The moment is shattered by the arrival of Eifion;  “I wouldn’t celebrate just yet – I can’t see Ffion giving you a good review –

"There was a bottle of brandy in Ffion's box"

“there was a bottle of brandy in her box!”   Sioned maintains that she checked very carefully, but he insists that it was evidently not carefully enough.

Sioned will go and see her immediately

“I think one of us should go to see her,” decides Sioned, and she rushes from the farmhouse,

Eileen is displeased

her mother rather angry.

Sara has finished the ironing . . .

Sara has just finished doing the ironing

. . . when a shadowy figure creeps in . . .

when Daf creeps in through the back door;

. . . and shocks her

she is shocked to see him.

"I heard Dylan was in trouble in the Deri"

“I heard that Dylan has been in trouble in the Deri – a siege with a gun.   Is he all right?”

"We're not together any more"

Sara does not know the answer, as they are not together any more.

“Where is he?” Daf demands, and she says she thought Dylan might be with Daf.   “Why would he be with me?” is the next question;

"I thought you were friends"

she was under the impression they were friends.   “And that’s what you told the cops, yeah?   Because you have been talking to them, haven’t you?   What did you tell them?”

Daf locks the front door . . .

She is becoming increasingly frightened as he locks the front door,

. . . and turns the iron on again

then turns on the iron;  she protests that she did not say anything,

"What are you doing?"

and demands what he is doing.

The house looks more like a pigsty

Hywel enters his house, next to the Deri, which appear to be in an even worse state than normal, with Rhys lounging on the sofa;

"Why are you here?"

he wants to know why his father is there.   “I heard the police were here yesterday looking for Dylan,” says Hywel.

"They didn't find his drugs"

“And his drugs,” Rhys adds, “But there weren’t any here.”   His father suggests that they should tidy up the place a bit,

"It must have shaken you up a bit"

appreciating that it must have shaken Rhys up, seeing the police going through the house.

"I don't need you checking up on me"

“I’ll do it myself – and anyway, I don’t need you checking up on me,” Rhys growls.

"I want to make things right between us"

Hywel says he is not doing that;  “I can’t sleep, Rhys – I’m worried about you.   I just want to make things right between us.”

"I tried to set Llwyncelyn on fire!"

His son points out that he tried to set Llwyncelyn on fire, but Hywel insists, “There’s nothing you could do that I wouldn’t forgive.”

Sara tries to ease the pain

Sara is running cold water on the serious burn on her arm, inflicted by Daf;  “I don’t like having to do these things –

He simply complains about everyone else

“my life would be a lot easier if people minded their own business, and kept their mouths shut” he says, “I’ve wasted enough time clearing up Dylan’s mess.

"I'm sure you regret having a relationship with him"

“I’m sure you regret having a relationship with him now, don’t you?   He’s caused plenty of trouble for both of us – but there we are, he’s always been a liability.   It’s his fault that I had to do that to you just now – I didn’t want to.   Just like I didn’t want to hurt that bloke –

"What's his name?   Mathew, yeah"

“what’s his name?   Mathew, yeah?   It was supposed to be Guto, but you already know this, of course.”

"When Dylan tried to steal those drugs!"

Sara is shaking her head as he goes on, “I don’t think I’ve ever been as angry with anyone as I was with Dylan when he tried to steal those drugs!”

"Oh – you didn't know"

She turns with a look of disbelief and he realises that she did not in fact know;  “This has been a wasted journey, then,” he sighs, “I don’t want to have to come back here – because I’ll know.

"If you say a word, I'll know!"

“If you say a word about this to anyone, I’ll know – I know everything – what time you go to bed, when you turn out the light, you like to keep one small window open while you sleep, and you often like to go for a walk to Coed y Mynach – on your own.”

She assumes that he has been following her, but he denies this;  “I have people who watch anyone who’s a potential risk –

"I'd say you are a high risk now!"

“and I’d say you’re high risk now, aren’t you?

He threatens to disfigure her . . .

“I don’t want to have to spoil that pretty face and hair of yours – do you understand?”

. . . then leaves the house

As Sara sobs by the sink, he leaves the way he came, by the back door,

She retrieves the DI's card . . .

and she reaches for the card left by the DI,

. . . from its strange hiding place

kept, for some reason, in a ‘tagine’ on the worktop.

Rhys does not seem to have much of an appetite

As Rhys toys with his food, he says, “I don’t understand what we can’t be like every other father and son.

"The way we behave isn't normal"

“The way we behave isn’t normal – the way we try to hurt each other all the time.”

Hywel insists that he has never tried to hurt Rhys, and is sorry that he feels that way;

"What is normal, anyway?"

“But what is normal, anyway?   Every family has problems.   I know you don’t find it easy talking about your feelings or going to the doctor, but I just want you to know that I’m glad you’re here, and I’m glad you’re my son.

"I love you, Rhys"

“I love you, Rhys.”

"I've never heard you say that before"

“I don’t think I’ve ever heard you say that before, replies Rhys, and his father simply wants to try and help him, but on Rhys’ own terms, and only when he is ready.   “You just want a good night’s sleep!” Rhys jokes,

"You probably want that, too"

and Hywel imagines that he probably does too.

"I must have taken your box to Tesni – I'm so sorry!"

Sioned is at Cysgod y Glyn, apologising profusely;  “I must have taken your box to Tesni – I’m so sorry!”

"The food was lovely!"

Ffion remarks that the food was fine – lovely in fact, and Sioned pleads with her to put that on the website;

"I'll make sure you get extra boxes for free"

“And I’ll make sure you get extra boxes for free!”

"How about a week's worth?"

Ffion can see her opportunity here, suggesting, “A week’s worth?”

"That will be fine, Ffion"

and Sioned has little choice but to agree;

Ffion is rather pleased with herself

Ffion appears very satisfied with the result.

Hywel gets back to Llwyncelyn . . .

At Llwyncelyn, Gaynor has been trying to contact Hywel, and then finds him coming in through the back door;  “Where have you been?” she demands.

. . . followed by Rhys

“I’ve been with Rhys – and he’s going to stay with us for a while,” is the reply, as his son follows him in.   Rhys hopes that it will be all right,

"Do you want something to eat?"

and she asks if he wants something to eat, as they are trying out one of Cae Glas’s meals tonight.

"I'll just go upstairs"

Rhys just wants to go upstairs.

"He's not well, Hywel"

Hywel and Gaynor agree that he is not well, and it is a good thing that he is there.

Garry is in the chippy flat

Garry is in the chip shop flat, where Britt asks if he has phoned the solicitor yet.

"They haven't got any concrete evidence"

He nods his head;  “It looks good that they’ve released me – it shows they haven’t got any concrete evidence against me, only Cassie’s statement.   “Mind you, I’m not sure if that DI believed a word I said.”

"Jaclyn will clear your name"

Britt is confident that when Jaclyn is strong enough, she will clear his name.

"Aaron was very brave to do what he did"

He adds that Aaron was very brave to do what he did, but she regards it as stupid; “He’s got to go to this National Referral Mechanism [a framework for identifying and referring potential victims of modern slavery and ensuring they receive the appropriate support] now.”

Aaron is listening

We see that Aaron is eavesdropping on this conversation.

Garry informs her that is to make sure he is telling the truth, but Britt worries, “What if they don’t believe him and think he’s a dealer?”

"We have no choice but to trust the system"

Garry emphasises that they have no choice but to trust the system, and in any case it will be safer if he is out of the way for a while, until things quieten down.

"The drug dealers were responsible for Jamie"

“These drug dealers – I’m pretty sure they were responsible for Jamie – if you know what I mean,” he goes on,

"Am I in danger?"

and Aaron comes in, demanding if he is in danger.   “I won’t let anything happen to you!” Garry assures him.

Sara is still in considerable pain

Nursing her painful arm, Sara is speaking to DI Wilkinson;

"You did the right thing"

“You did the right thing – are you sure you don’t want to go to hospital?”

"I'm not going to hospital"

She is quite certain that she does not, and the DI informs her, “Now you’re a witness to several serious confessions – you’ll have to give evidence in court.

"It's not safe for you to stay here"

“I also need you to understand that it is not safe for you to stay here at the moment.”

She wonders where she is supposed to go, and is told, “I’d recommend that you accept protection from the police.”   She has heard about witness protection, but does not think he is serious.   “I cannot guarantee your safety here,” he points out.

"What about my life – my child?"

She is adamant that she is not going into any witness protection, even though the DI urges her to seriously consider it.   “What about my life – my child?   I can’t just leave!” she protests, and he understands that,

"Leaving is the safest option"

but he insists that leaving is the safest option at the moment, and wants her to consider it carefully.

"I'm not going anywhere!"

Sara’s mind is made up;  “There’s nothing to consider – I’m not going anywhere.”

  1. I hope you see this, what you do to share this soap is great. This from an American, that has gotten hooked on this soap.
    Do I love Iolo and Tyler, yes they are totally rocking out the lets fix this.
    I follow several gay male story lines, from the other side of the pond. The way Iolo and Tyler fall into romance is perfect. These actors make Iolo and Tyler, believable.
