Tyler is up early and tells Iolo that he has a lot to do today; he hopes that Iolo will be OK, and is assured, “Yeah, I’ll be fine.”

Tyler did not want to wake him as he was sound asleep, and will stay for a quick coffee if he would like.

"I'd better go over and see Dad" |
Iolo informs him, “Dad’s tried to phone already – I’d better go over and see him – see you tonight, yeah?”

Tyler slips out the back way |
Tyler leaves through the back door to lessen the chances of his being seen.

Guto is not speaking to his father |
At number 10, Guto is certainly not in a talkative mood this morning;

“Come on, Guto, I’m sorry,” says his father, “I feel terrible for doubting you – but you lied about that Alesha.

"I accept there's nothing gong on" |
“All right, I accept there’s nothing going on between you and Ffion.” Guto wonders how he could possibly think that, and Gerwyn explains, “I thought you were with your girlfriend, so when I saw you leaving Cysgod y Glyn, what was I supposed to think? Where are you going now?”

Guto replies that he is going to see Ffion; “To apologise for your behaviour!”

"No, I'll go and apologise myself" |
His father maintains that he should apologise himself, and will go to see her. “Come on, then!” urges Guto, and they both head towards Cysgod y Glyn.

In the Deri flat, Dani was not expecting to see Tyler this morning, and has an appointment at 9:30, so tells him to make it quick. “I slept with Iol,” he announces, much to her surprise. “It was his idea,” but she points out that Iolo is in a vulnerable place.

“Are you sure you don’t just feel sorry for him? she demands,

"I love Iolo!" |
and he repeats that he loves Iolo. “You’ve only just finished with Aled,” she reminds him – listen, Tyler, I’ll support you, whatever you decide to do, but please think about it.

“Think about Greta – you and Iolo are in a good place at the moment – you work well as friends.

Ffion is on her way to school |
Ffion is just coming out of her front door when Gerwyn approaches;

he just wants to explain.

"You accused me of taking advantage of Guto!" |
“What is there to explain?” she snaps, “You accused me of taking advantage of Guto!”

"You haven't got a very good track record" |
He inadvisedly points out she has not got a very good track record, and she turns round;

"That's what the rest of the village thinks, is it?" |
“Whoa – that’s what you, and the rest of the village, think of me, is it? That I jump into bed with young lads every chance I get?”
He apologises for saying that, but Ffion continues, “Do you want to know what the whole village is saying about you?

“That Jaclyn had an affair with Garry Monk, right under your nose, because you were to weak to do anything about it!”

"We've worked things out" |
Gerwyn protests that he is not weak, and that they have worked things out – he has forgiven her.

"How about when she runs off with him next time?" |
“And are you going to forgive her when she runs off with him again? Everyone but you can see that he’s trying to win her back!”

Everyone's laughing at me, aren't they?" |
Gerwyn glumly groans, “Everyone’s laughing at me, aren’t they?” She assures him that they are just worried about him – he is an honest family man. He takes this to mean, “They think I’m a doormat, don’t they?”

Realising that she has gone too far, Ffion says, “Gerwyn, listen – you’re a good bloke – please forget I said anything,” but the damage is done, and he thanks her for her honesty with him.

Dani is keeping an eye on Garry . . . |
Dani comes out of the door of the Deri,

. . . who steers clear of Dylan |
and notices Garry approaching Dylan, who is at the cashpoint;
Garry is aware that he is being watched, so crosses the road.

"Do you have any plans this morning, Mark?" |
Dani happens to meet Mark, and asks, “This is a bit short notice, but do you have any plans this morning? I’ve got a scan at the hospital – I know you can’t come in, but do you want to keep me company?”

"Don't you want Dylan with you?" |
He anticipated that she would want Dylan to be with her, but she says she would rather do it on her own. Mark would be pleased to go with her, as he does not like to think of her on her own, and will go and get a couple of cakes for them for the journey.

“Not cakes – sausage rolls, please,” Dani requests.
She watches Dylan, still up by the cashpoint,

In the shop flat, Ray reappears, telling Eifion, “I’ve been thinking a lot about what you said,”

and then Mathew comes in, demanding what he is doing there.

“Do you have a minute?” asks Ray, “We need to discuss something important – we need to discuss family stuff – things we’ve never discussed before.”

"I'm sorry I was angry yesterday" |
At Y Felin, Siôn says, “I’m sorry I was angry yesterday – it was so unexpected – are you all right?”

He invites Iolo to sit down, insisting that it is important that they talk.

"I've been thinking a lot about Mam" |
After an initial pause, Iolo begins, “I’ve been thinking a lot about Mam – imagining how she felt.”

"I should have encouraged you to go for tests" |
Siôn has been doing the same, and regrets that he did not encourage his sons to go for tests. His grandmother died of breast cancer, and then there was Iolo’s mother, so it is possible that it runs in the family.

“This isn’t anyone’s fault – you shouldn’t feel guilty,” Iolo tells him,

"I still miss your mother terribly" |
and Siôn admits that he still misses Gwen terribly.
“Do you know what was one of the last things she said to me?” asks Siôn,

“She said, ‘Who’s going to buy your pants and socks every Christmas now?’ You’re right, Iolo – there’s no point worrying about what we could have done.

“It’s important to concentrate on the future – concentrate on the treatment and get better.”

Then he gets up from his chair and continues, “But I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if I wasn’t honest with you now. “

Iolo points out that he has been a big support recently, which he has appreciated,

but his father asks, “Can you trust him? Remember what happened with Aled – he deceived you. You don’t want to give him the chance to do that again – what if he leaves you in the middle of the treatment?

“You need to concentrate on yourself now – you can’t depend on Tyler.”

"Aled enjoyed it, too" |
Dani arrives at Hywel’s house to speak to Dylan; he thanks her for the meal last night, and she agrees that it was a lovely night. “Aled enjoyed it, too,” she adds,

“I’m here to say that I had a scan today in the hospital, – don’t worry, it was routine, and everything is fine.”

He wants to know if she went on her own, and when she informs him that Mark went with her,

he laughs, “I could have gone with you.”

She reiterates, “I’ve told you – I want to do this my way – my body – my rules!”

He angrily insists that he has rights as the father,

and she says, “I really don’t want to fall out with you – I just thought you might like to see this,”

as she holds up a copy of the scan and puts it on the table.

He looks at it without saying anything, and she advises that it is a boy;

“Cute, isn’t he? He’s just swimming around, flat out,” she adds, confirming that both she and the baby are healthy.

He apologises for losing his temper and maintains that he wants to be part of his life, after missing out on being a father to Aled. “Perhaps this is a chance to make things right – so could I come to the next scan?”

Gerwyn is working in the garage, but his mind is not on the job;

After having listened to what Ray has said, Mathew asks, “So he wasn’t willing to accept any help?” and Ray explains that it was a difficult time. Haydn tried to hide it because he was ashamed.

“Dani had a scan this morning – we’re having a boy! Seren’s going to have a brother.”

Garry calmly points out that she already has a brother, and Dylan smirks, “She’ll have two, then.”

Gerwyn has been listening to all this from his seat in the corner;
he appears to have made up his mind, resolutely puts on his jacket and leaves the pub.

Tyler is preparing the meal at number 7 when Iolo returns from Y Felin, and thinks that they should have a chat, about the two of them.

Iolo stops him there, and has also been thinking about them; “I’ve decided to concentrate on myself right now,” which comes as rather a shock to Tyler.

Tyler cannot understand this change of mind; “Last night was your idea.”

He looks at her in a forbidding fashion |
He stands, silently, looking at her, and she senses something is wrong.

As he clears away the remains of their fish and chips, Mathew says he has never heard his father talk so openly before; “The fact that depression is in the family is . . . well, I don’t know, it’s a relief, isn’t it?

“I don’t feel on my own any more. It’s a lot to take in – perhaps I should see a counsellor or something, what do you think?”

Eifion feels angry that it is only now that he is finding out; “Perhaps I could have done something to help him,”

but Mathew reminds him he was only 14 at the time, and his father had a serious mental illness – there was not a lot that Eifion could have done.

Eifion regards this as a good idea; he will go and get changed.

Jaclyn replies that he is being paranoid, and no-one is doing that.
