Rhys is chatting up a girl called Nina

As Dylan is working on another of his dodgy deals, Rhys comes into the room, talking on the phone;  “Of course – although, Nina, meeting first is always a good idea.”   

She praises his work on her friend

As he shows off to Dylan, he puts the phone on speaker, and a voice, which sounds vaguely familiar, replies, “Well, you’ve worked miracles with my friend’s body,” and he wonders who her friend is.   “Lucille Harper,” the voice replies.

Rhys is told he has 'the magic touch'

He realises who she means, remarking that she has worked hard;  “She’s full of praise for you – she says you’ve got the magic touch!”   This makes Dylan laugh, and Rhys asks how he she knows Lucille.

“We’re old friends – a lot of people say we look like twins,” says the voice, and Rhys enthusiastically wants to know when he can meet her.   “Four-ish, at the Deri Arms?” he is told, and is looking forward to it.   “So am I – I want to experience this ‘magic touch’!” she says, and he assures her he will try his best.   

"I think I'm in the wrong job"

Dylan has come to the conclusion he is in the wrong job.

The call was actually coming from number 10

At the other end of that phone call, after it has been terminated, there are peals of laughter from Luned, Tesni and Kelly, at number 10.   

"He's been going on about Lucille for ages"

Kelly did not think that he would go for it, but Luned complains that he has been going on about Lucille for ages;  “Her and her glutes and biceps!”

"Yeah, well – we're like twins!"

“Yeah, well – we’re like twins!” comments Kelly, “Are you sure you’re doing the right thing?”   After he spent the night with Sioned, he deserves everything he gets, according to Luned.   “What exactly are you planning to do?” enquires Kelly, 

"Turn up at the Deri and find out"

and is advised to turn up at the Deri to find out;  

"Oh yes, the Deri at four-ish"

“Oh yes, the Deri at four-ish,” she adds as she leaves the house.

"She woke up and wanted her Mami"

Britt is complaining to Sara;  “Then she woke up and wanted her Mami – she had a nightmare.   Dani should’ve been back days ago but I’ve heard nothing!”   

"Where exactly has she gone?"

Sara asks where exactly she has gone, but all Britt knows is that it was a B&B in Pembrokeshire or somewhere – or that is what Dani said.

Sara advises her to ring around, 

"You're not here to talk about Dani, are you?"

and Britt apologises that she is not there to talk about Dani;  “Especially after everything with Dylan.”   Sara just hopes that she is all right, as does Britt, who comments that she has not made a lot of friends recently.

"We always imagine the worst, don't we?"

“But I’m sure there’s a simple explanation – we always imagine the worst, don’t we?” says Sara.   Britt wants to check that she is OK to pick up Seren from nursery, and says that she thinks the world of Ifan, 

"A play date with Ifan will really cheer her up"

so having a play date with him would really cheer her up.   Sara tells Britt to let her know if she hears anything.   

Britt takes a key from its hiding place 

Britt goes the kitchen and takes a key from a container

Ffion is in her dressing gown

At Cysgod y Glyn, Ffion is in her dressing gown when Guto appears, 

"Oh, I'm sorry, Ffion!"

and is somewhat embarrassed to find her in this state.   

"I'll go and work in the café"

He apologises profusely and turns his back, saying that he will go and work in the café, 

"There, it's OK!"

but in a matter of seconds, she has put on her dress.   He says that he will text next time before he comes.

She came home to change out of her wet clothes

“I got caught in a heavy shower during the hockey game before lunch, and I’ve got a meeting in half an hour, so I’d better go,” she says, 

"Sorry for embarrassing you"

“Sorry for embarrassing you just now.”   He wants her to say if he is in the way, but again she insists that he should make himself at home, and says that there is a parcel due for delivery to her in an hour.   “Our arrangement is working well, isn’t it?”

Britt awaits her brother . . .

Britt has let herself into number 7, where she sits waiting for Garry to come in;  

. . . and he is surprised to find her there

“Crikey!” he says, surprised, “You can’t do that to a man my age!”

“Why – in case something terrible happens?” she growls, 

"Having a heart attack wouldn't be great"

and he points out that having a heart attack would not be great.   

"Seren and Gwern could lose two parents!"

“No – Seren and Gwern could lose two parents!” and he accuses her of sounding like a broken record.

“Where’s Dani?” she demands, 

"She went off for a break"

and he says that she went off for a break, but is reminded that she was supposed to be back by now.   “And why would she leave her phone in the flat – with no way to contact the kids?   That’s not like her, is it?   Listen, Garry, the children need their mother – I can’t keep lying to them like this.”

"Do you think I've done something to her?"

He demands, “Do you think I’ve done something to her?” 

"You said you'd make sure she got rid of the baby"

and Britt replies that he said he was going to make sure she got rid of the baby.   “Killing her would be a bit extreme, wouldn’t it?” he snarls, but Britt insists that this is serious, suggesting that accidents happen.

"You don't really think that, Britt"

“You don’t really think that!” he says, but is asked how else he explains where she is.   She is supposed to be there, but it is as if she has vanished overnight with no explanation to the children or anything.

“Just like you did!” she shouts, “So I’ll ask you again, Garry, where is she and what have you done to her?”

"I know someone who could have done – Dylan!"

He replies that he has done nothing, but knows someone who could have done;  “Dylan – I’m telling you!”   

"He wouldn't do that, Garry"

She cannot imagine that Dylan would do something like that, so Garry continues, “He tried to kill me, Britt.   He shot me, wrapped my body in a tarpaulin and dumped me in a river.   I didn’t just vanish.   

"If he could do that to me, he could do it to Dani"

“If he could do that to me, he could do it to Dani.”   

Britt does not know what to say

Britt is lost for words.

"Have you got rid of her or what?"

Dylan is again on the phone:  “What are you saying?   Have you got rid of her or not?   Good, I knew I could rely on you.”  At that moment the door opens and Rhys comes in;  Dylan continues, “The money will be in your account very soon.”   

He says he has got rid of some stock

He tells Rhys that he has got rid of some stock that was problematic, and is having a very good day.

Rhys was supposed to be meeting Arwel down at the pub, but he is not well;  

"More time to get ready to meet Nina"

“That gives me more time to prepare to meet Nina,” he boasts, “She sent me another text, asking if I could wear the shorts I wore during Lucille’s last session – 

"They were very short!"

“they were very short!”

"Why didn't you go to the police?"

Britt cannot understand why Garry did not go to the police;  

"Monks don't go to the police"

he laughs, “Monks don’t go to the police – anyway, we’ve both got a lot to hide.”   

Now that she understands the whole story, Britt is sorry and points out that Dylan has made a fool of him.

"He's stolen your wife – and having a baby with her!"

“Since you’ve been back, he’s stolen your wife and now he’s having a baby with her,” she goes on, “If you’re not careful, he’ll take the Deri from under your nose!   But if that was his plan, why would he want to hurt Dani?”

"Like you say, accidents do happen"

“Like you said, accidents do happen,” Garry replies.

Ffion's parcel has been delivered

Guto has taken delivery of the box for Ffion, and feels hungry, 

Guto is feeling peckish . . .

so he looks in the cupboard 

. . . and in the fridge discovers . . .

and then the fridge, when he sees 

. . . some very inviting cheese . . .

quite a large amount of tasty-looking cheese.   

. . . which he proceeds to eat

After sampling it, he takes it out of the fridge and puts it alongside the laptop.

Geraint is working today

In the Deri, where Geraint is on duty behind the bar, Rhys, in his shorts, is waiting for his date;  Tesni is surreptitiously watching him.   

"I want him to suffer, OK?"

Luned comes in and whispers, “I want him to suffer, OK?   We can’t make this easy for him.   Look at the shorts – wow!”

"Hiya, Rhys – surprise!"

As he sits down at a table, they come out of hiding;  “Hiya, Rhys!” says Luned, “Surprise!” 

Rhys is rather taken aback by this

and he wonders why she did not say she was coming back.   “I was missing everyone – especially you.   I’m so glad I’ve bumped into you – 

"You're looking sexier than ever!"

“looking sexier than ever, if I may say.   Aren’t you going to buy your girlfriend a drink, then – and her friend?   We’ll both have a gin, please, with those fancy tonics – unless I’m disturbing you.”   He goes to the bar to fetch the drinks.

Ffion is pleased to her her parcel

Ffion is back home after her day at school and Guto reports that he has had an excellent day with his studies;  he points out that the parcel has arrived, about which she is very pleased.   “I know it’s sad, getting so excited about a fondue saucepan, but I’ve wanted one for ages – and I bought a lot of nice cheese in Narberth over the weekend.   You dunk meat in the melted cheese – and it’s heaven!”

"That cheese in the fridge?"

Guto is looking very awkward;  “The meat and cheese that was in the fridge,” he says, apologetically, “You told me to help myself.”   

"You haven't eaten it all?"

Ffion is displeased that he has eaten it all, and he says that he did not mean to;  

"It was on the plate in front of me – sorry!"

“It was just in front of me on the plate, and it was so nice – sorry!”

"It's an excuse for another trip to Narberth"

“Well, at least it’s an excuse to make another trip to Narberth,” she says, rather irked, 

"I'll buy you a takeaway tonight"

and he offers to buy her a takeaway tonight, or even to go to Narberth, which she refuses.   

"It would be best if I found somewhere else to work"

He picks up the laptop and his bag, maintaining that it would be best if he found somewhere else to work, and leaves the flat, ignoring Ffion’s entreaties not to go.

Garry is on watch

Britt finds Garry in the café, keeping watch out of the window, and wants to know what he is doing;  “Having a cup of tea,” he replies, 

"Why haven't you been to see Dylan?"

and she demands why he has not been over to the house to confront Dylan.

Kelly appears to be listening

“What happened to not letting him get away with it?” she continues, then notices Kelly behind the counter, within earshot.   

"I'm waiting for the right place and the right time"

Garry assures her he is waiting for the right place and the right time, 

"Dani's in danger, Garry!"

but she again reminds him that Dani is in danger.

“Trust me – now go.   I’m sure you’ve got enough on your plate,” he tells her, and she says that she has to pick up his daughter from Ifan’s house, reminding him that this is serious.   “I know just how serious it is,” he stresses, as he continues to watch.

Back home, the Wi-Fi is no better

Guto is back at number 10, and is still having problems with the Wi-Fi, when there is a knock at the door.   

There is a knock at the door

He opens it to admit Ffion, and the connection returns momentarily, then disappears again.   

Ffion invites him to the Deri . . .

“I’m going to the Deri, if you fancy coming,” she suggests, 

. . . but he has to finish his work

but he says he has work he needs to finish.   She wants to buy him a drink to apologise;  “I shouldn’t have overreacted – it’s been a long day.”   He insists that she has done nothing wrong, but he feels like a total scrounger.

"I did tell you to help yourself!"

“You shouldn’t – I told you to help yourself!” she emphasises, “Please don’t feel awkward – it was only cheese.”   Guto points out that it was really nice cheese as well, 

"It's nice to have a friendly little 'raton' around"

but Ffion maintains that it would have been even better melted, though she admits it is nice to have a friendly little ‘raton’ [Spanish for mouse] around.

However, she still cannot persuade him to come to the Deri with her, 

He immediately looks up 'raton'

and as she leaves, he looks up ‘raton’ in his Spanish dictionary.

"Fancy Sioned snogging Dad like that!"

In the Deri, as they put their plan into action, Tesni says, “It sounds disgusting, Sioned snogging Dad like that!   You saw it happen, didn’t you Rhys?” and he agrees that she was really drunk.

"I'm lucky I don't have to worry about that, Rhys"

Luned pipes up, “If DJ can treat Sioned like that, what chance do the rest of us have?   I’m lucky that I don’t have to worry about that, aren’t I, Rhys?”   He simply smiles, and thinks it is time that he went back to work.

"I'm still thirsty"

Luned does not want him to do that, and Tesni says that she is still thirsty;  Kelly comes in, as he protests he has already bought them three drinks each.

They suspect that he might be in a hurry – or possibly meeting someone else;  

"Nina – who likes the magic touch"

“Like Nina,” suggests Kelly, “Who likes the ‘magic touch’ – ooh, I do like those shorts!”   

"You're being childish"

He realises that he has been found out, and describes them as childish.

"Pathetic, underhanded slimeball and perv!"

“If we’re childish, Rhys, I’ll tell you what you are!” Luned rages, “You’re a pathetic, underhanded slimeball and a perv, who takes advantage of drunk women!”

"I don't have time for this!"

He gets up, informing them that he does not have time for this;  

"You had time for Sioned and Nina – who else?"

“You had time for Sioned and Nina – who else?”   

"It's over, Luned"

He replies that it is nice to see her, but it is over.

“Don’t think for a second that it’s you dumping me!   Sleeping with Sioned the night she was supposed to get married, when she was so drunk she couldn’t stand up was vile!   Just like you – and I wouldn’t want to spend a second longer with you, 

"If you were the last man on this planet!"

“if you were the last man on this planet!”

"Do you expect me to be upset?"

“Do you expect me to be upset?” he asks, quite nonchalantly, “There are plenty of prettier girls out there.”   Luned recalls that people warned her against Rhys – and they were right.   He is exactly like his father.

As Tesni and Kelly voice their support, he storms out of the pub, just as Ffion is coming in;  

"What did you do to Rhys?"

“What did you do to Rhys?   He looked furious.”   Tesni enlightens her that Luned just told the pig where to go.

“A word of advice from a friend, Ffion,” says Luned, “Now that I’ve dumped him, please don’t go back to him – 

"He thinks you're hard work and complicated"

“he thinks you’re hard work and complicated.”   

This does not go down well with Ffion 

So saying she walks out, followed by Tesni, 

"He's actually running out of women to insult"

while Kelly remarks to Ffion, “He’s actually running out of women to insult around here.”

"Your performance was brilliant, Luned"

Tesni calls to Luned to wait, saying that her performance was brilliant;  

Luned is in tears

in tears, Luned confesses, “I really liked him, you know – but he deserved it!   I just want to be on my own for a while.”

Dylan emerges from Hywel's house

Tesni crosses the road on her way back to number 10, and Dylan can be seen emerging from Hywel’s house;  

"Fancy bumping into you here!"

Garry approaches from the direction of the alley.   “Well, well, fancy bumping into you here!” he says, 

"Strange, considering I live here"

and Dylan replies that it is strange, considering that he lives there.

“What have you done to her – Dani?” Garry demands, 

"I got her pregnant, which is probably enough"

and a smiling Dylan answers that he got her pregnant, which is probably enough.   “No, I don’t think it is,” Garry continues, his voice rising in volume, 

"I don't think you really want that baby"

“Because I don’t think you really want that baby, do you?”    

They have some witnesses

Both Guto and Tesni are listening to this.

"It's none of your business, Garry"

Dylan maintains that it is none of Garry’s business, but he thinks otherwise;  “Yes it is – you’re having a baby with the mother of my child – so I’ll ask you again, what have you done to Dani?   

"I can show everyone the scar, if you want"

“Because I know how dangerous you can be.   I can show everyone the scar I've got, if you want.   

"Did you think I'd never mention it?"

“Did you think I’d never mention it – how close you came to killing me?”

Now Sara is also listening

Sara has just appeared at the end of the alley and is listening to his words;  

"I've just been waiting for the right moment"

“I’ve just been waiting for the right moment.”

"If I don't hear from Dani by lunchtime tomorrow . . ."

Now he shouts to anyone who is listening, “If I don’t hear from Dani by lunchtime tomorrow, I’m going to tell everyone exactly what you did to me – what kind of man you are – understand?”

Dylan's smile is lessening now

This seems to have wiped the smile from Dylan’s face, and as he walks away, Sara, who has been keeping out of sight in the alley, makes a phone call.   

"I'd like to report a friend of mine who's missing"

“Hello, police?   “I’d like to report a friend of mine who’s missing – no-one’s seen her for a few days.   I’m worried that someone’s done something to her.   

"Yes – Dylan Ellis!"

“Yes – Dylan Ellis!” she snarls.
