Next morning, Tyler’s car pulls up outside number 7,

and as he knocks on the door, Aled is coming through the alley, speaking to Dani on the phone; “That’s fine, Dan, see you later,” he says.

When he notices Tyler, he moves to an inconspicuous position,

“Taxi for Mr White,” Tyler tells him, and he hopes that it is to take him far away from there;

“Luxury hotel, posh restaurant – hospital?” Tyler replies, “I think that sounds like fun as well.”

Gerwyn is eating his Asda fruit and nut muesli;

She snaps that he is probably still in his room, but her father thinks there is something wrong with him; “He keeps going off somewhere without saying where – nearly every day –

“I think he’s got a girlfriend.”
Tesni does not think that her father makes a very good Sherlock Holmes, and asks whether he has tracked Guto’s phone, “Or put a chip in him so you can see where he is?”

Gerwyn announces that he has a secret weapon – Tesni, but she is adamant that she is not going to be Watson to his Sherlock.
“Come on, Tes – imagine how happy your mother will be if he’s got a girlfriend – if that fails, then I’ll track his phone.” Tesni is not promising anything.

Kath comes into the Deri, and Cassie remarks, “It’s rather early, even for you,” and Kath enquires if the Spanish lessons are starting up again today; she is surprised that no-one else has turned up, but Cassie imagines that they are all probably running a bit late.

At that moment Brynmor arrives, ostensibly for the Spanish lesson;

“Looks like it’s only you and me, Kath,” he remarks.

Dani comes into the salon, and is pleased to have taken half a day;

Aled is looking downcast, reporting that things have been quiet there. She tells him to reveal what is bothering him, and he whines, “Are you sure there’s nothing going on between Iolo and Tyler?

“They went off in the car together, just the two of them – something is going on, isn’t it?”
Dani insists that he is reading too much into it, but he goes on, “Why else would two exes go away together?”

She points out that they are not ‘going away’ together, so he intends to phone Tyler.

Danny will not permit this and has to explain, “Tyler is taking Iolo to a hospital appointment, because he’s found a lump – he is having a scan and tests and stuff.

Tyler feels the same, blaming, “Bloomin’ Covid!” and urging him not to worry, as he is in the right place, and being seen quickly.
“I hate the fact that I have to be here at all,” Iolo groans,

“I’m scared – what if I find out I’ve got cancer?” Tyler stresses that he may well find out he has not. “But what if it is? asks Iolo,

At number 10, Guto comes downstairs and his sister asks where he is going; “Out,” he replies, and she wants to know where. “To see a friend,” is his answer, and now she enquires what sort of friend,

“Alys,” he makes up on the spur of the moment, “And it’s complicated.”

As they sit there in the Deri, Kath comes to the conclusion that the class has been cancelled; “It’s a shame they didn’t let us know.” Brynmor suggests that they might as well have another drink, as they are there;

“I just heard things about him – and I told Cassie that you could be in danger, if it was that same Deio you were meeting. I was worried, and I’m so glad you cancelled.”

“Kath confesses that is not what she did; “I went over there, to Gorslas – I felt a bit embarrassed – it didn’t feel right, you know – I felt a bit uncomfortable.”

“The radiologist said there is an obvious lump there – they’re not sure that it’s cancer, but it’s possible. They want to run the more tests – scan, biopsy – I’m not going back!”

Aled is standing in the doorway of the salon, keeping watch on number 7; “What’s this? Neighbourhood Watch?” asks Dani, “Are they home? Does everything look OK?”
