Tyler goes to the fridge

Tyler, still in his pyjamas, comes into the Deri flat , opens the fridge and gets out some fruit juice;

"I thought it would be nice to have coffee together"

Aled arrives with two takeaway coffees.   “I thought it would be nice to have a coffee together,” he says.

"I have to go to work"

Tyler maintains that he does not have time as he has to go to work,

Aled is left with two cups of coffee

and walks out of the flat, leaving Aled with the two coffees.

Dylan approaches his old adversary

Dylan smiles as he walks along the street, as he sees Garry;  “The troops are back then,” Dylan comments,

"Dani looks good, don't you think?"

“Dani looks good, don’t you think?   The two of us fighting over her wouldn’t be much of a welcome home.”

"You're banned from the Deri – keep away!"

Garry informs him that he is banned from the Deri;  “Keep away!” but Dylan replies that he will have to see what Dani says about that

Garry keeps an eye on him

and walks away.

"I'm having a cup of tea in the Deri, Col"

Britt is back from her holiday and rings Colin to tell him;  “I’m in the Deri, having a cup of tea – I will see you in the flat in a few minutes,” she says, “Love you, Colin!”

"That's always the first thing I want when I come back"

Cassie agrees that a cup of tea is the first thing she wants when she comes back from holiday.   Britt had a fantastic time;  “Lovely wine and food every night.”

Cassie points out that Garry missed her;  “He was imagining the fun you were having with the kids.”

"He was the one who turned his back on family life"

Britt angrily reminds her he was the one who turned his back on family life.

"Gwern's on his console again"

Dani comes downstairs, reporting that Gwern is on the console and Seren has gone straight to bed.   Britt was worried that Aaron would not enjoy himself,

"Aaron liked his mother paying for everything"

but he certainly did – mainly because his mother paid for everything.   “There’s no point going on holiday and being stingy, is there?” she adds.

"Welcome home, Britt"

Garry walks in, and welcomes his sister home.   Cassie says that it only feels like yesterday that they left, and he sits down,

"I'll join you for a cup of tea"

deciding that he will also have a cup of tea.   He would like to hear all about the holiday that he paid for.

"No-one wants you here, Garry"

Dani has other ideas;  “Don’t make yourself comfortable, because no-one wants you here.” she snarls.

Garry addresses Britt, “Are you going to let her talk to me like that?”

"Go upstairs and see the kids, Garry"

She tells him to go upstairs and see the kids, who are looking forward to seeing him;  Dani does not take kindly to this.

The shop window are being cleaned again

Tyler is cleaning the window of the shop, and predictably Colin points out that he has missed a patch;

"You're doing a good job, Tyler"

“You’re doing a good job,” he goes on.   Aled comes along the street and Colin tells him to cheer Tyler up.

"Can we talk in the flat?"

“Can we talk in the flat?” Aled asks, but is told that Dani and the children are there, so Aled suggests the cafe instead, but Tyler does not want to know

Tyler hurries away . . .

and walks away into the alley, with Aled trailing after him and whining that he is sorry;

. . . with Aled shouting after him

“I don’t want this to come between us.”

Tyler completely ignores him, which causes Aled to fly into a furious temper,

He kicks a can in the alley

kicking a can which has been discarded in the alley.

Mathew is talking to Dani about the salon

Mathew is in the Deri, discussing the renovation of the salon with Dani;  “I want to transform the place and attract the best customers,” she informs him.   Mathew is eager to do what ever she wants with the salon.

"Are you sure you want to go ahead with this, Dani?"

Britt wonders if she is sure that she wants to go ahead with this project,

"Garry said he would pay for it"

and is reminded, “Garry said he would pay for it – it’s a no-brainer – no-one else pampers dogs.”

Mathew will go and have a look at it today if she will give him the keys to the salon;

"APD – on the ball, now there is a new boss!"

APD – on the ball, now there is a new boss!” he boasts.

"Throw dust in the custiomer's eyes"

Cassie says that he has learned the art of the builder very quickly;  “Throw dust in the customer’s eyes!” then remarks to Britt that she does not seem very enthusiastic.

Britt is not sure how many bottles of wine she had drunk when she promised to help Dani.

Rather sparsely furnished Llwyncelyn

Hywel walks into the rather bare kitchen of Llwyncelyn and asks Gaynor if she wants a cup of tea;  she is sitting on a camping chair,

Gaynor is meeting with the bank's fraud office

and informs him that she has a meeting with the bank’s fraud office.   She hopes that they have some information for her.

"We will get through this together, Gaynor"

Hywel reassures her that they will get through this together, but she is dubious about that.

Britt is looking at receipts

In the chip shop flat, Britt is looking at some receipts when Colin comes in and is pleased to see her;

"You weren't tempted to stay, then?"

“You weren’t tempted to stay, then?” he asks, and she replies that it was not the same after he went home.   He tells her, “I’m glad I came home early, as I’ve been supporting Gaynor – she was in a terrible state after losing everything.

"Do you think we could give Gaynor a little sub?"

“Do you think we could give her a little sub – because she doesn’t even have a table leg?”

"Money's a bit tight at the moment, Col"

Britt points out that money is a bit tight at the moment;  “There are a lot of bills – the dinner in that posh hotel cost over 200 quid!   Lobster Thermidor!”

"I think we might have gone a little overboard"

Colin suspects that they might have gone a little overboard with Garry’s card.   Britt is not sure how sensible that was now.

"Exactly how much did we spend?"

Colin enquires exactly how much they did spend, and is told that it was over three and a half thousand pounds;  “I don’t know how I’m going to explain to Garry – and this isn’t the first time.”

"I didn't expect you to care what he thinks"

“I didn’t expect you to care about what he thinks, after all the pain he has cost you,” Colin growls, “I heard you and Dani say you didn’t want anything more to do with him.”

"But he is still my brother"

“Yes, I know, but he’s still my brother,” is Britt’s answer, and Colin sighs that is what the Monks are like.

"And Dani's expecting a blank cheque"

“And I promised to help Dani with the salon – she’s expecting me to give her a blank cheque!” Britt adds;

Colin is disturbed by this

this causes Colin to look very upset.

Hywel tries to make the table stand level

Izzy comes into Llwyncelyn and finds there is hardly anything left in the house;  “I had no idea it was so bleak here,” she tells Hywel.   Jason has brought over an old table, which Hywel says will have to do.

Gaynopr has drawn a blank at the bank

Gaynor does not look happy when she comes back, as she has not had much luck with the bank;  “It’s still a complete mystery,” she says, but Hywel is convinced that the police are bound to catch the culprit before long.

She sees the table and demands, “What’s that doing here?”

"Jason donated this table"

Hywel explains that it was Izzy’s idea to get people to donate furniture, and Jason brought the table over.   He knows that it is not perfect, but it will do for now.

Izzy says that she has been to Apêl Maenan and bought some clothes,

"Apêl Maenan?   That looks familiar!"

which Gaynor think look familiar;  she will mention that that to DI Davies.

Gaynor declines her daughter's kind offer

Izzy offers her credit card to her mother, in order to help out, but Gaynor will not take it.

"It might be a good idea, Gaynor"

Hywel is of the opinion that it might be a good idea to accept, and Gaynor can pay Izzy back from her wages.

“I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but there’s no point spending,” insists Gaynor,

"This is our opportunity to find somewhere new"

“We had plans to sell this place, so this is our opportunity.   We can find somewhere new –

"We'll get money for this place"

we’ll get money for this place.”

"But you can't prove you own it!"

Hywel points out that she cannot prove that the house belongs to her, and it may take months to sort out.

"Oh, great!"

“Oh, great!” groans Gaynor, “And I thought nothing could be worse than last year!”

"Dani said it was all right to come up"

Aled comes back into the Deri flat and sits down;  “Dani said it was all right to come up,” he tells Tyler,

"I just want things to go back to how they were"

“Please – I just want things to go back to how they were.”

"I had no idea that there was something wrong"

“Obviously I can’t act as well as you!” snarls Tyler, “You’ve acted so normally over the last few weeks – I had no idea that there was anything wrong with you.”   Aled replies that he had no choice – and that is what really scares Tyler.

"What happened to DJ was an accident . . ."

“Look, what happened to DJ was an accident,” Aled explains,

". . . I wanted to hit Dylan!"

“I wanted to hit Dylan!”   This naturally shocks Tyler even more, and he demands what Dylan had done to wind him up so much.

“Nothing major,” says Aled initially,

"He wished I hadn't been born!"

but then admits, “He said he was gutted that he was my father – he wished that I hadn’t been born!”

"You need to be careful around Dylan"

Tyler warns him to be careful around Dylan, but Aled emphasises that he sorted everything out with the police for him, and did not mean what he said.

Aled professes his love for Tyler

“I love you, Tyler – don’t let this come between us.   I could easily have said nothing, but we promised that we would always be honest with each other.”

"I thought you had matured"

Tyler thought that he had changed, that he had matured;  “So why are you sulking because you can’t get what you want, then?”

"I was hurt"

“That’s not what it is – I was hurt,” exclaims Aled, but it is pointed out to him that is not an excuse to run someone over.

He wonders why Aled’s reactions are always so extreme;

"Someone was caught in the middle this time"

“You lied when I rejected you – it feels the same, but someone was caught in the middle this time.”

Aled points out that he does feel guilty about hurting DJ,

Tyler will not listen to him

but Tyler will not listen to his protestations, so he leaves the flat.

"Do you need that with two kids?"

“Starting a business is stressful,” Cassie tells Dani, “Do you need that with two kids?”

"I shall be home with them every night"

Dani says that she will be home every night with the children,

Aled makes a rapid exit from the Deri

as Aled comes downstairs and rushes out of the pub, to their surprise.

"I e-mailed you an estimate, Dani"

Mathew comes in and advises that he has e-mailed an estimate for the work to Dani;

"That looks fine to me"

she checks it concluding she is happy with it and will send it over to Britt right away.

“Jason and Eifion can start work as soon as they get the go-ahead,” Mathew tells Dani.

"Trying to rekindle a flame?"

“I wasn’t born yesterday,” Cassie comments to Mathew, “So what are you trying to do – rekindle a flame?”

"Nothing like that, Cassie"

He denies this, but she is quite sure that it looks that way to her;

He is warned of a fate in a concrete mixer

“I wouldn’t come between her and Garry again – or it will be you going round and round in that mixer!”

"I'm quite happy with Izzy"

Mathew says that he is quite happy with Izzy;  “There was a time when I would have done anything to be with Dani – but not now – not since I met Izzy.”   Cassie is relieved to hear that.

Aled looks up at the Deri flat

Aled is in the rain, with his hood up, looking up at the Deri flat,

"I've promised to take Sara and Ifan to Swansea"

and shelters in the alley, where he meets Dylan, who is, as usual, in a hurry.   He regrets that he cannot go to the café for a meal with his son;  “I’ve promised to take Sara and Ifan to Swansea this afternoon.

"When are you going to tell her about me?"

“When are you going to tell her about me?” demands Aled, and Dylan is rather vague about it,

"When the time is right"

alleging that when the time is right, he will say something.   “I’d like us to agree when we’re going to tell everyone,” Aled continues, “There’s no point keeping it a secret.”

“We could leave Cwmderi for a day and discuss it then – I’ll check my diary, and I’ll organise somewhere for us to go,” Dylan tells him.

"I just turn up when it's convenient for you, do I?"

Aled is not happy about this;  “I just turn up when it’s convenient for you, do I?”

They are under surveillance from the café

Garry has been watching this conversation from the door of the café,

Garry is taking an interest . . .

and looks suspicious, as Aled walks away along the street

. . . as Aled returns to number 10

and goes into number 10.

"I promised I'd help out, Col"

Britt has been complaining to Colin, “I promised to help her out – and I can’t break my promises!” as Dani comes up the stairs to the chip shop flat.

"Did you get my e-mail?"

“Did you get my e-mail?” Dani asks, “It’s not a bad price, because there’s lots of work to do.”

"£25,000 is rather a lot of money, Dani!"

Colin suggests that £25,000 is a rather a lot of money,

"And then we shall need a few thousand more"

and Dani adds that they will need a few thousands more to buy equipment.

"You must count every penny"

Colin’s advice is, “When you start a new business, you must count every penny,” but Dani is confident that with Britt,

"With 'moneybags' here helping me . . ."

who she describes as ‘moneybags’, helping her, it will be no problem.

She notices that Britt is looking troubled;  “You’re not having cold feet, are you?” she asks, “You know how important this is to me.”

Britt is asking for trouble here

Britt tries to sound convincing as she assures Dani she is with her every step of the way.

"So I can tell Mathew to send the bills to you?"

“So I can tell Mathew to just send the bills to you?” Dani asks, and Britt feels she has no alternative but to agree.

Colin knows that this will not end well

Colin is devastated by this, but is instructed by Britt not to say a word.

"You're not welcome here, Garry"

Tyler is working on the laptop when Garry comes upstairs and advises him that he is not welcome there;   “I do own the Deri,” Garry reminds him,

"Tyler's not going anywhere"

but Dani is far from happy that he is there.   He wants a private word with Dani;  however she insists that Tyler is not going anywhere.

"Did you hear that DJ had a hit and run?"

“Did you hear that DJ had an accident while you were away?” Garry enquires, “Hit and run?

"Guess who was first on the scene – once again"

“Guess who was first on the scene – once again – yes, Dylan!   Odd, isn’t it?

Tyler is looking concerned

“It makes you think that he was . . . involved.”

"And your point is?"

Dani wonders what is the point he is trying to make;  “Being involved with him is dangerous – for you and the kids!”   Dani simply accuses him of being paranoid, and stresses that she is not doing anything with Dylan anyway.

"I still worry about you"

“I still worry about you – and that’s not going to change,” Garry goes on, “How are things in the Deri, then?   When was your last stocktake?”

"Ask Cassie, the manager"

She tells him to ask Cassie, as she is the manager;  “Yes, but you still work here, and you’re responsible for the stocktake.

"Don't worry, I'll do it for you now"

“Don’t worry, I’ll do it for you now!”

Dani is very surprised

Dani looks amazed.

"Let me buy you a drink"

Colin asks Hywel if there is any tidying up to do, and offers to buy them a drink;  Gaynor refuses,

"A pint in here is a bargain!"

but Colin points out, “A pint is a bargain in here – compared to that posh hotel we stayed in last week – a pint cost almost ten quid!”

"How could they afford that?"

Gaynor wonders how Britt and Colin could afford such an expensive holiday,

"That's not our business, Gaynor"

but Hywel reminds her that someone else’s financial situation is not their business.

"It's odd they're throwing money about"

“I find it odd that they’re throwing money about,”she says, suspiciously.

"Do you think Colin has keys to Llwyncelyn"

Izzy comes to join them, as her mother enquires, “Do you think Colin has keys to Llwyncelyn?

"You don't suspect Dad, do you?"

“I don’t suspect him,

"The Monks have some dubious contacts"

“but the Monks have lots of dubious contacts.”   Both Izzy and Hywel are shocked, but Gaynor points out that someone broke into the house and she will not be happy until she finds out who it was.

She sees Colin with a £10 note

Then she sees Colin, laughing at the bar, and brandishing a £10 note.
