"Did Britt mention that money missing from the till?"

Dani comes into the bar, looking rather flustered, and Garry asks her, “Did Britt mention that money has gone missing from the till?”   She wonders if he is going to ask about that first, before asking about the children, so he wants to know if they are all right.   He adds, “Have you heard about this money?”

"No, Garry!"

and she abruptly replies that she has not.

Hywel comes in;  “I’m here as a councillor,” he tells Garry,

"Are you shutting the garage?"

“I’ve been talking to Gerwyn – are you shutting the garage?”   Garry says that he is considering doing so, but Hywel does not consider that the village would benefit from that.

"I do enough for the village"

“I do enough for the village,” snaps Garry, and he is urged not to do anything stupid, and to punish Gerwyn, as it was Jaclyn’s decision to stay with him.   “Since when are you friends with Gerwyn?” Garry demands.

"I'm just trying to defend someone innocent"

“I’m just trying to defend someone who’s innocent in this,” Hywel points out,

"I'm trying to stop myself throwing you through that window!"

and Garry snarls that he is just trying to stop himself from throwing Hywel out of the window.

"Look after the bar, Tyler!"

As Tyler comes downstairs, Garry instructs him to look after the bar,

"But I was going for a run"

and will take no notice of Tyler’s protestations that he was going for a run.

"It's nothing to do with me!"

Hywel’s phone rings, and he gives the answer, “Look, it’s nothing to do with me!”

Gerwyn sits down for his lunch

Gerwyn has just prepared his lunch and is sitting down to eat it when Garry bangs on the door;  “Oh yeah – as I expected,” he groans, and Garry says that he has just seen Hywel.   Gerwyn maintains that he has a right to know what is happening to the garage.

"You have no right to talk about my business!"

“You have no right to talk about my business with other people!” is the angry reply, “There are other garages out there!”

Gerwyn explains that there is no work in any of them;

"What other choice do I have?"

“I’ve worked hard for you, and if you don’t appreciate that, what other choice did I have but to talk to Hywel?   Now I want my lunch, and I don’t want you watching me eat.”

"Don't discuss it with anyone else!"

Garry warns him, “Don’t discuss my business with anyone else, OK?”

"Or what?"

Gerwyn wonders what he is going to do about it.   Garry laughs and walks out,

Now he has been put off his lunch

but Gerwyn has now been put off his lunch.

Garry leaves the house . . .

As Garry leaves the house,

. . . and sees Dylan . . .

he notices Dylan coming from Hywel’s house and, at the same time, Dani is emerging from the boarded-up salon.

. . . so he keeps watch

Garry hides, so as to watch what happens.

Dani is informed there is £5,000 in her account"

“I transferred the money into your account this morning,” Dylan informs her, and she enquires how much it is;  “£5,000,” he replies, “Do you need more?”

She answers that she always needs more, but that £5,000 is great.

"If you sold that flat, you'd have more than enough"

Dylan stands in the road and looks up;  “If you sold that flat above, you’d have more than enough,” he suggests, but she is not sure about that.

"I'd be willing to buy it"

“I’d be willing to buy it,” he says, “Sara’s trying to win full custody of Ifan, and we need to show that he has a home.   Would you consider selling to me?”

"I'd rather do it properly"

Dani would prefer to talk to Tomos ac Ellis and do it properly,

"£30,000 deposit tomorrow morning?"

but he proposes, “What if I gave you a £30,000 deposit tomorrow morning?   You wouldn’t have to put the flat on the market, and you’ll have some cash.”

Unfortunately Garry cannot hear the details

From his vantage point Garry is unable to hear what is being said;  Dylan points out that it is perfect solution,

"Yeah, OK  deal!"

and Dani is won over, agreeing to the deal.

Dylan heads for the Deri . . .

As Dylan returns towards the Deri, she looks up at the flat.

. . . and Garry puts up his hood

Garry comes out, and puts up his hood.

"Izzy's rent is there as well"

Sioned is at the shop flat, collecting the rent money;  “Izzy’s rent is there as well,” Mathew tells her, and she remarks that he looks tired.   He explains that he has a lot of work on,

"Why do you have to pay for everything?"

and Sioned is not surprised, if he has to pay all bills.   She wonders why he has to do it.

"How re the wedding arrangements coming along?"

Mathew changes the subject;  “How are the wedding arrangements coming along?”   At the moment Sioned is struggling to find a bridesmaid,

"Sorry – I can't help with that!"

and he regrets he cannot help her with that.

“I’ll be meeting a friend later, and I’ll probably ask her – but she’s sceptical – not everyone is convinced that DJ is the one.”   Mathew says that she is lucky, and at that moment Izzy comes in, and wonders who is lucky.

"You, with Mathew paying your rent!"

“You, with Mathew paying your rent!” snaps Sioned, as she leaves.

Izzy explains her plan of action

Izzy is confident that she will get her job back, and is thinking of taking Yr Antur to a tribunal for unfair dismissal.   She maintains that the only way she will win is to prove that she has nothing to hide.

"But you have got something to hide"

Mathew stresses that she does have something to hide;

"Yes, but if I threaten them with a tribunal . . ."

“Yes, but they won’t investigate if I threaten them with a tribunal,” she exceedingly naïvely insists, “It’s perfect!”

"You really think so?"

Mathew wonders what planet she is living on.

"You don't have to make food for me"

Mark returns home to find that Bethan has prepared his lunch;  “You don’t have to make food for me, you know,” he tells her,

"It's my way of saying thanks for . . ."

but she says it is her way of saying thanks for letting her stay, in spite of . . .

"All the lies – why do you do it?"

“All the lies?” he suggests, “Why do you do it?   Putting yourself in awkward situations like that – making enemies of people – is it attention you want, or sympathy?”

"I don't know, Mark"

She alleges that she does not know;  “But you destroy peoples lives,” he goes on,

"If everybody knew . . ."

“If everybody knew about the lies you’ve told us, people wouldn’t want to know you.”

"Please don't tell anyone, Mark!"

Again she pleads with him not to tell anyone, whining that she wakes up every morning regretting what she has done.

Garry goes to the Deri flat

Garry walks into the Deri flat and finds Tyler there;

"How's Dani coping financially"

“Is there any reason why Dani and Dylan would be talking?” he asks, “They were outside the salon.   How is she coping financially?”

"Has she asked you for more money?"

Tyler does not know and suspects that she may have asked Garry for more money, but Garry denies this.

"Well, it doesn't affect you, then"

Tyler maintains that if it does not affect Garry, he has no problem.

"If she's being helped by someone else"

“It’s a problem if she’s being helped by someone else,”

"Like Dylan, you mean"

Garry growls, and Tyler deduces that he means Dylan.

"Let me know if you hear anything"

“Let me know if you hear anything,” Garry instructs him.

Izzy is now a 'lady of leisure'

Izzy is taking it easy, putting her feet up, when Hywel comes visiting,

"Why aren't you answering those e-mails?"

and wonders why she is not answering the e-mails from the investigation’s chairman.

"I don't want any part of it!"

“I don’t want any part of it!” she tells him.

"The chairman has asked me what's going on"

“Nor do I, but when the chairman calls me, asking what’s going on,” he continues,

"Is he more important that your partner's daughter?"

and she is surprised that this chairman is more important than his partner’s daughter.   “It’s awkward – I've got my good name to protect!” Hywel protests, but receives no sympathy from her.

“Do you want this to hover over you for months?” he demands, but she is confident that it will not,

She predicts the whole thing will be dropped

arguing that when Yr Antur hear that she is taking them to a tribunal for sacking her, they will drop the whole thing.

"You don't have a great record"

“And what if they continue with the tribunal?” Hywel asks her, “You don’t have a great record.”

This is where her plan seems to falter;  she can only insist that they will not do that.   “I’m making a statement to show that I’ve got nothing to hide!” she emphasises.

"Don't expect us to help you out!"

Hywel advises that it is much too risky;  if they find something after she makes this accusation, she will lose her job, her good name and any future job prospects.   “Don’t expect your mother and I to help you out then!”

At last, she looks concerned

Now she is looking worried.

DJ takes the vegetables to the kitchen

In the Deri, DJ comes in with the vegetable delivery, which he will take through to the kitchen.

Bethan is looking for him

Then Bethan arrives, looking for him.

Dylan's ears are flapping

Once again, Dylan is sitting there, taking notice of everything that is going on.
DJ is confronted by Bethan/Non . . .

DJ does not look particularly happy at being confronted with Bethan, and even less so when she informs him that she is leaving Brecon and moving in with Mark and Kath.

. . . within earshot of Dylan

They move aside, unfortunately still within eavesdropping distance, and DJ is glad that she will not be in any danger from that Len now.

"You haven't told anyone about that, have you?"

“You haven’t told anyone about that, have you?” she asks, anxiously.

"I'm used to keeping confidences"

He says that he is used to keeping confidences, because he is a policeman.

Bethan alleges she is turning over a new leaf . . .

She goes on, “Listen, this might sound a bit odd, but I’ve decided to be more honest from now on.   I’ve hurt a lot of people with the lies I’ve told – it’s destroyed my life too, so it’s time I changed.”   DJ comments that she should not change too much.

. . . and Dylan is taking it all in

Dylan is still taking notice, despite ostensibly reading the paper,

"All I want to do is kiss you!"

as she continues, “That’s why I think I should tell you that all I’ve wanted to do since coming back is kiss you.”   DJ looks very shocked, and she adds, “Since I’ve been honest with you, can you be honest with me?   Do you feel the same?”

"Sorry, no!"

DJ rather hesitantly replies, “Sorry, no,” but she does not believe him.   “You have to believe me, because I’ve moved on,” he stresses, and makes a rapid exit.   Dylan regards this as useful information for his mischief-making.

DJ has a lot on his mind

Later, back at Penrhewl, DJ is looking rather preoccupied when Sioned comes in,

"I'm going to meet Nia"

on her way to the Deri to meet her friend, Nia, to talk about bridesmaid duties.

"See you later – love you!"

“See you later – love you!” she says as she goes, and DJ feels guilty.

Another charitable donation to Llwyncelyn

Garry has brought some dishes from the Deri to apologise to Hywel;  “Britt’s bought some new ones we didn’t need – because it seems that I have a money tree!

Garry is apologetic

“Listen, I’ve been under a lot of pressure – there’s a lot going on, but it’s no excuse to talk to you like I did.

"You're one of the few friends I have left"

“You’re one of the few friends I have left.”

"I haven't got as much influence as I thought"

“And there was the big county councillor thinking he could help out the little worker!” sighs Hywel, “I haven’t got as much influence as I thought I had.”

"Have more influence than people realise"

Garry recommends that the secret is to have more influence than people realise;  “That’s how you catch them out!”   Hywel wonders who he wants to catch out,

"Don't do anything stupid, Garry!"

and warns him not to do anything stupid.

"Stupid things make life interesting"

“Stupid things make life interesting,” says Garry as he leaves, “I have to go, in case Britt decides to put a swimming pool in the cellar.”

"Don't say DJ has stood you up?"

In the Deri, Sioned is becoming rather tired of waiting;  Dylan finds her there and asks if she is on her own.   “Don’t say DJ has stood you up?”

"My friend hasn't turned up"

Sioned says that she does not know where her friend is, assuming that she must have offended her in the past.

“She doesn’t deserve to be your friend if she doesn’t forgive you,” he comments,

He sits down without any invitation

and joins her at the table, pouring himself a glass of wine.

“You know what some are like – can’t accept that people can change,” moans Sioned,

"Have you changed?"

and he wonders if she has changed.

"All I want to do is marry DJ"

“I’m in love,” she tells him, “All I want to do is marry DJ and spend a happy life with him.”

“And faithfully?” Dylan enquires.

Gerwyn is already 'the worse for wear'

The door opens and Gerwyn comes in, already walking rather unsteadily;

"I want a whisky"

he is not pleased to see Garry behind the bar.   “I want a whisky!” he says, and Garry can see that he has already had a couple.

"Who cares?   I haven't got anything else to do"

“Who cares?   I haven’t got anything else to do,” Gerwyn complains.

"All right, then – a double, on the house"

“Yeah, go on, then – to show you how sorry I am about the garage, Ill make it a double – on the house,” Garry generously offers.

Izzy has been splashing out on steaks

Mathew returns home from work and finds that Izzy is cooking steaks for the meal and also has a bottle, so they can celebrate.

"I've resigned from Yr Antur"

“I’ve resigned from Yr Antur before they finish the investigation – they don’t deserve my time, so I thought it’s easier to step back.”

"I have to work tomorrow"

Mathew tells her not to open the bottle, but she ignores him;  “We’re not going to finish the bottle – and I’m working tomorrow!”   She volunteers to drink all of it.

"Life isn't cheap, Izzy!"

“It’s easy enough for you – steaks and champagne aren’t cheap – life isn’t cheap!” he exclaims.

"But I've just lost my job!"

“I know that, but I’ve just lost my job,” she whines;  he forcibly points out that it was her fault and asks what they are going to do about the bills, the food, the rent.

"You have to contribute!"

He cannot pay for everything himself – she has to contribute.

Izzy would prefer to have a free ride

She cannot believe that he is serious, and he points out that he is stressed;

"Stop taking advantage and grow up!"

“In the real world, life is hard – so stop taking advantage and grow up!” he shouts, and walks out of the flat.

Dani is at work on the laptop

Tyler finds Dani working on the laptop again;  “Accounts, is it?” he asks, “How’s the salon coming along?

Tyler's questions are far from subtle

“It must be costing a lot – but you’re all right for money, aren’t you?   You haven’t had to borrow money, have you?”

"Right – out with it, Tyler!"

She realises that all of these questions are leading up to something;  “Right – out with it,” she says, and as soon as he mentions the name of Dylan, she snaps that, no, she has not borrowed money from Dylan.

"Dylan has invested, yes"

“He’s invested, yes,” she adds, but Tyler reminds her that he is dangerous.

"I'm used to dangerous!"

She smiles, “I’m Garry Monk’s wife – I’m used to dangerous!   Is he behind this?   What’s going on, Ty?”

“He saw you and Dylan talking – he does not want him anywhere near you, OK?” Tyler warns her, “He could stop it – he owns the salon.”

"I shall get the building in the divorce"

Dani is convinced that she will get the building in the divorce.   “And what if you don’t?” Tyler demands, “You’ll be in debt to Dylan, unable to repay him!”

"Not a word, or you'll be out of here – pronto!"

Dani insists that she knows what she is doing;  “Not a word to Garry about the money, or you’ll be out of here – pronto!   Do you hear?”

Gerwyn is dozing off

Gerwyn has sunk a few more whiskies in the Deri and is now almost falling asleep at the bar;  Garry is amused to see the state of him.

"Wherever I turn, you're there!"

“Wherever I turn, you’re there, spoiling everything!” Gerwyn mumbles, but Garry reminds him that he has been very generous tonight.

"Look how many free whiskies you've had!"

“Look how many free whiskies you’ve had!”

Mark has called upon Mark to escort him home

Garry has called upon Mark to take him home;  “You’re his friend – and he doesn’t have anyone else.  Go on, take him home.”

Gerwyn is not steady on his fete

Getting up from his seat, Gerwyn seems to have difficulty standing, and refuses to go with Mark, although Garry says that Jaclyn will be waiting for him.   “You have destroyed my life!” he tells Garry,

"Get Jacs to put a bucket by the bed!"

who hopes that Jacs will put a bucket and paracetamol next to the bed.

As Gerwyn lurches out through the door, Garry mutters to himself, “I’m sure she’ll be over the moon.”

"I might as well go home"

Dylan is still chatting up Sioned, pleased to see that she is smiling now;  “Look at the time,” she moans, “My friend isn’t coming – I might as well go home.”

"You don't have to go home"

Dylan suggests that she does not have to go home.

"You haven't listened to a word I've said"

She tells him, “You haven’t listened to a word I’ve said, have you?   I love DJ.”

"I thought you wanted sympathy"

He was under the impression that she wanted sympathy after all her moaning, and considers that DJ does not deserve her fidelity.

"You're starting to sound desperate now"

“You’re starting to sound desperate now,” she dismissively informs him.

"DJ and Non seem to know each other well"

Then he deploys what he hopes will be his masterstroke;  “I saw DJ and Non talking – they seem to know each other well.”

"You're only saying that to get me into bed"

She is quite aware that he is saying that just to get her into bed, but he smiles, insisting that he is telling the truth.

"We both know how easy it is to relight the flame"

He continues, “Today I saw them, and we both know how easy it is to relight a romantic flame.”

Sioned proposes another bottle . . .

Sioned appears undecided for a moment, then proposes that they have another bottle,

. . . although at the bar she looks hesitant

although, when she reaches the bar, she does look rather guilty,

Dylan's lascivious grin

but Dylan is confident his plan is working.
