"I can't believe Jim's been so generous!" |
and as Eifion walks out, disappointed, Kath comes in, having photographed the two fields which Jim left to her.
“I didn’t realise those fields were so big! I can’t believe that Jim has been so generous!” she gasps,
"No, I can't believe it either!" |
and Eileen makes it quite clear that she cannot believe it, either. “Didn’t you know about it?” Kath asks, “I assumed that you had discussed it.”
"What's this about 'all the good times'?" |
“The other thing that’s playing on my mind is why Jim wrote in his will that those two fields were for you ‘as a thank you for all the good times you had’,” growls Eileen,
"It's not what you think, Eileen" |
and Kath is quick to point out that she and Jim were not what she is suggesting, and walks out of the farmhouse.

Jaclyn replies that he is probably with their grandmother, but is reminded that she is staying with Iori.

"I walked out on Friday" |
Gerwyn confesses that he walked out on Friday and has not been back since;
"So you can kiss and make up" |
Mark replies, “Well, you know what they say – sometimes it’s worth falling out, so you can kiss and make up.”
"There won't be any making up" |
Gerwyn groans that this is serious, and there will not be any making up – he will not be going back.
"Where have you been sleeping, then?" |
Mark asks where he has been staying, and when he finds out that Gerwyn has been sleeping in the garage, he is adamant;
"Right, you're coming home with me!" |
“You can’t do that – right, you’re coming home with me, I insist! You can have something to eat, a shower, and a good sleep. I don’t like to say this, but you need a shower. Come on – work can wait for one day –

"If it were up to me, I'd still be in bed" |
Iolo replies that if it were up to him, he would still be in bed – he is supposed to be having a day off.

"I'm sure she influenced him in some way" |

Sioned promises that they will discover the truth, and that her mother should not worry.

"We won't be going out tonight" |
Eifion arrives at the chippy flat with the bad news for Izzy that they will not be going out tonight, as he could not get the night off; “Sioned’s too busy to help in my place!” he snarls.

"Dad thinks I need a babysitter" |
“You know, Dad thinks I need a babysitter now that Tyler and I have broken up,” Iolo informs her.
She maintains that Siôn’s heart is in the right place, and that there is nothing wrong with being single – it is not an illness;
"You won't be on your own, now you've found a new best friend!" |
“And you won’t be on your own now, now you have found a new best friend.” Now it is her turn to exercise.

Kath reminds her that she was told to stay away and give Gerwyn some peace, but she only wants to check he is all right.
"He's asleep, but we'll tell him you called" |

"We should go away for a little holiday" |
In the Deri, Eifion suggests to Izzy that they should go away for a little holiday;
"If they won't let you have a night off . . ." |
“If they won’t let you have a night off, they’re not going to let you have a whole week, are they?” she replies.
“But if we did go away, they would see how much they depend on me – they wouldn’t take me for granted then,” he proposes, so Izzy wants to know where they are going.
"I'd love to get away to some sun" |

“That’s this evening – although it’s nothing to do with you,” she replies.

“With a bit of luck, I won’t be answerable to you for much longer,” he informs her, “It won’t be too long before Penrhewl gets too much for your mother, and she’ll have to sell – I’ll be happy to offer her a fair price.”
"Mam will never sell to you!" |

"Who is he, then – this other bloke?" |
“Who is he, then?” she demands, “The other bloke she’s got?” Mark insists that it is not their business.
"I hope it's not her again!" |
When there is a knock at the door, Kath hopes that it is not Jaclyn again, and advises Gerwyn that she has been there once already,
but this time it is Tesni and Guto. “We want to know what is going on!” says Tesni;
"I can't come home – but it's nothing to do with you" |
he says that he cannot come home, but that it is nothing to do with them.
“How can you leave Mam after everything she’s been through?” adds Guto,
"Your father's suffering too" |
but Kath intervenes to point out that their father is suffering too; he was in a terrible state earlier.
"I just want to understand, Dad!" |
Tesni just wants to understand, and as Gerwyn makes no answer,
"Your mother's having an affair – you have a right to know" |
Kath enlightens them that their mother is having an affair, and they have a right to know.
She goes on, “And Gerwyn’s obviously finding it difficult to tell them.” When they continue to demand whether this is true,
"Mam has lied to us all . . ." |
he merely points out that their mother has lied to all of them,
". . . you must talk to her" |
and if they want answers they should talk to her. They rush from the house.

"You could be a silent partner" |
“You could be a silent partner and focus on Cae Glas and raising Huwi.”
She reminds him of what happened before |
She appreciates the offer but does not think it would be a good idea; “You do remember why Jim and I had to take Penrhewl from you and Cadno, don’t you? I can’t risk that again.”
Angharad is now ingratiating herself with Iolo |
At number 7, Angharad says that she has eaten too much, and Iolo agrees that there was no need for that pudding, so she suggests another double session in the gym tomorrow.
"She's not like either of her parents" |
“Izzy’s a nice girl, isn’t she?” continues Angharad, “She’s not like either of her parents – I was in college with both of them.”
"Gaynor is a real – headteacher!" |
Iolo informs her that Colin is hilarious and they used to live together, whereas Gaynor is a real – headteacher.

He gets the impression that she and Izzy do not get on that well.
"They're just too different" |
“I noticed that when I was staying at Llwyncelyn – they are just too different, aren’t they?” And agrees.
"There's some history between Gaynor and Eifion" |
He rather unadvisedly mentions that there is some history between Gaynor and Eifion; “I don’t know all the story, but I heard they shared a tent together,” he says,
More information for Angharad to use |
and Angharad seems rather interested;
"Have you been having an affair?" |
When Tesni and Guto arrive home, they ask their mother, “Have you been having an affair? We’ve just seen Dad. He said you’ve been lying to us all – what’s going on, Mam?”
"It's between your father and me" |
She evasively replies, “It’s between your father and me, but all you need to know is that we love you.”

Eifion practises some copying . . . |

. . . believing that he has cracked it |
and when he considers that he has perfected it, he takes the 2020 Cae Glas diary,
He forges a diary entry . . . |
and writes, in the space for 15 March, “Eifion on holiday – JP,”
. . . and looks pleased with himself |
