Diane is ranting at Siôn and Anita
Diane is at Y Felin, sounding off at Anita and Siôn;  “I wouldn’t like to think what Sara will say when she finds out!”   Siôn comments that it sounds as if it is over, anyway, as Iolo comes in;  “And that’s why Jason left!” Diane continues.
"What's going on, then?"
Iolo wonders what is going on, and is interrogated by Diane;  “Did you know there was something going on between Kelly and Jason?”
"What – Kelly and Jason!"
He looks very surprised, as Diane growls, “It looks like they hid it from all of us!”
Anita and Siôn look at each other
Siôn looks at Anita, and Diane realises they know something.
"We only knew after they had finished"
“Well, the thing is, we only got to know after they had finished,” Anita admits,
"As usual, I'm the last person to find out!"
and Diane remarks that, as usual, she is the last person to find out.
"That's a pity – they suit each other"
Iolo is of the opinion that it is a pity they finished, as they suit each other,
"There's too much going on for them to be in a relationship!"
but Diane is quick to point out, “They’ve got too much going on to be in a relationship together!”   He emphasises that is why they suit each other – they could help each other, make each other happier,
"It doesn't matter now – they've finished"
and Anita agrees with him, but says that it does not matter now, as they have finished.
"This is Kelly's fault – and it's up to her to sort it out!"
Diane insists that this whole thing is all Kelly’s fault, and it is up to her to sort it out;  she storms out of the house, as Iolo groans, “Poor Kelly.”
"Poor Jason – imagine having Diane as your mother!"
“Poor Jason, you mean,” says his father, “Imagine having Diane as your mother!   No wonder Jason fled to the other side of the world!
"Right, are we going to the gym or not?"
“Right, are we going to the gym or not?”   Anita warns him not to be late, as she will be cooking dinner,
"Just the two of us and a bottle of wine"
and Siôn assures her that it will be just the two of them and a bottle of wine.
"It would be like cwtching with a plucked chicken!"
In the shop flat, Brenda displays a magazine photo to Tesni;  “Look, not a single hair on his chest – it would be like cwtching with a plucked chicken!”
Tesni laughs and explains that is the fashion these days,
"I like then with a chest like a carpet!"
but her grandmother goes on, “I like them to have a chest like a carpet,” and Tesni wonders if she likes hairy backs as well.
“Why not?   You need help to keep you warm at night at my age!” replies Brenda,
"That's gross, Mam-gu!"
and Tesni regards that as ‘gross’.
"Welcome back, Sions"
Sioned walks in and is welcomed back, and seems remarkably unconcerned about Jim’s recent death.
"Jim was such a nice man"
“I was so sorry to hear about Jim – he was such a nice man – and I know it doesn’t feel like it now, but things will get better with time,” says Tesni.   Sioned tells them that the funeral is tomorrow,
"I expect a lot of people will be there"
and Brenda predicts that there will be a lot of people from the village there;
"No, it's going to be family only"
Sioned informs her that it will be family only, and is there to put some washing in the machine, so Tesni will do that for her.
Mathew comes in
When Mathew comes in, he is asked about his back, and gives Sioned a hug, which proves rather painful;  Brenda comments that it is probably the sofa which has caused his bad back,
"We said a couple of days – and that was over a week ago"
and he complains, “We said a couple of days – and that was over a week ago.”
"Giving up your bed for a homeless woman like me"
Brenda praises him;  “You’re a darling, giving up your bed for a homeless woman like me.
"I'm going to the Deri to find a 'toy boy'!"
“I’m going to the Deri, to find a ‘toy boy’ – someone like Mathew, with plenty of hair on his chest.”
"I don't think it was the right time for Kelly and Jason"
In the gym, Siôn muses that he does not think the time was right for Kelly and Jason;  Iolo says that he could never go straight into another relationship, and knows that Tyler will find someone before he does.
"My body is starting to look like yours!"
“Because he’s a dog, Dad – and he has a body like a Greek god, while mine is starting to look like yours!”
"We'll both look like Hercules in a couple of weeks"
Siôn predicts that they will both look like Hercules in a couple of weeks.
"Look what I found in Apêl Maenan!"
In the café, Iori shows Debbie a couple of LPs he has found in the Apêl Maenan shop;
"We could listen to them after dinner"
he suggest that they could listen to them after dinner, as apparently, and not previously mentioned, Debbie is now living with him.   “Can you believe that Megan let me have these two for £4.75?” he says, but Debbie points out to him that she is not spending tonight listening to his records.
"Just because we live under the same roof . . ."
“Just because we live under the same roof, it doesn’t mean we have to spend every night together,” she stresses, so he thinks he will go to the Deri instead,
"I've taken up enough of your time here"
as he has taken up enough of her time in the café.
"I feel sorry for him, Debs"
Kelly feels sorry for him, but Debbie snarls, “You can listen to his old records if you want!” Kelly says she hates seeing old people upset.
The APD van is just across the road . . .
Outside, Mathew is loading radiators into APD’s van, when he sees Diane,
"Any idea when Jason will be back?"
and asks if she has any idea when Jason will be back, as he is struggling there.
"No!"
She abruptly answers, “No!” and goes into the café, to confront Kelly.
"I think we should talk!"
“I think we should talk!” she growls,
"There's nothing else to say, Diane"
but Kelly does not consider there is anything else to say.   When Debbie asks if she can help Diane,
"No – unless you've been canoodling with my son as well!"
the answer is, “No – unless you have been canoodling with my son as well, I’ll stick to Kelly!”   Kelly thinks it advisable for them to go upstairs,
Anohtin piece of gossip for Debbie to spread around
and Debbie immediately gets out her phone.
Tesni asks Mathew how it is going, and he replies, “I can’t survive another night on that sofa – do you think I should go to the doctor?”
"Perhaps I should shoot you, like they do with old horses"
Tesni thinks that perhaps she should shoot him, like they do with old horses, but he does not find this very amusing.
"Jason's on a jolly to Australia!"
He enlightens her, “Jason’s on a jolly to Australia, and I have no idea when he’ll be back.”
Picking up that last Dimplex radiator finishes off his back
As he picks up on the last of the radiators, his back goes and he almost drops it;  he suggests that they phone for an ambulance,
Tesni has to help him to his feet
but she will make him a cup of tea, then, if he is a good boy, they will see about an ambulance.   She helps him to his feet, commenting that he is like an old man.
"If you're here to have another go at me . . ."
Upstairs in the café flat, Kelly makes it clear, “If you’re here to have another go at me, I’m not interested.”   Diane is not going to argue, but still blames Kelly for Jason leaving;  “Here we go!” says Kelly.
"Persuade him to come back"
“I want to give you the chance to make up for that,” Diane goes on, “Contact him – persuade him to come back – just give him a glimmer of hope that you could get back together.”
"I'm not going to lie to him!"
Kelly is adamant she will not lie to him, but Diane suggests, “You might want to get back together – you never know.”
"Yesterday you thought I was the daughter-in-law from hell!"
Kelly angrily points out, “Yesterday you thought I was the daughter-in-law from hell!”
"I'm desperate to have him home"
but Diane is desperate to have Jason home, and if that means he is with Kelly, she will have to accept that.
Kelly finds this amusing
Kelly laughs at this,
"I'm worried he will start gambling again"
as Diane explains, “The truth is, I’m worried that if he’s out there on his own, he’ll started gambling again – you can understand that.”   Kelly replies that she cannot lie to him, but Diane wonders if it would be a lie, as she must feel something for him.
"You're putting too much pressure on me!"
“Of course I do – he’s a lovely bloke,” she begins, but then exclaims, “Diane, stop!   You’re putting too much pressure on me –
"Jason and I are over, right?"
“Jason and I are over, right?”
Then she discovers who is behind her
After uttering these words, she finds that Sara is standing behind her, having come silently up the stairs.
Tesni is attempting rather inexpert massge . . .
In the shop flat, Tesni is attempting to massage Mathew’s back,
. . . while Sioned watches with amusement
while Sioned is watching with amusement;  “If it’s not hurting, it’s not doing any good,” Sioned concludes, and takes over the operation.
Sioned's method is rather more physical . . .
She uses her elbow in the middle of his back,
. . . and causes acute discomfort
and he shouts out with pain, but she tells him to stop making a fuss.   “Where did you learn to give massages – in jail?” he demands.   She tells him she did, and to stop complaining;
"He can't sleep on the sofa for ever"
Tesni points out that he cannot sleep on the sofa for ever.
Sioned replies that Brenda can have her room;  “I’m going to stay with Mam for a while.”
"She will only stay longer"
Mathew argues that she was only supposed to be there temporarily, and if she moves into Sioned’s room, she will only stay longer.
"Well, you tell her, then!"
“Well, you tell her, then!” Sioned suggests, and resumes the extreme massage.
"So New Year's Eve wasn't a one-off?"
In the café flat, after a pause, Sara says, “So New Year’s Eve wasn’t a one-off?”
"It seems they have been together for a while"
and Diane points out that it seems they have been together for a while.
"I didn't want you to find out like this"
Kelly is sorry and did not want Sara to find out like this;  “You said it happened once and there was nothing between you,” Sara reminds her.
"One thing led to another, like"
“Yes – and it was true at the time,” begins Kelly, “Then one thing led to another – but it’s over now – I finished with him.”
"Yes, and he's gone to Australia!"
Sara understands that, and as a result, Jason has gone to Australia.
"And now Diane is trying to persuade me to get back with him"
Kelly pipes up, “And now Diane is trying to persuade me to get back with him.”   Diane demands how else they will get him home.
"Do you want to get back with him – I wouldn't stop you"
Sara enquires if Kelly wants to get back with him, because she would not stop her.
"Seriously?"
Kelly cannot believe this,
"I've moved on, and I can't stop Jason doing the same"
but Sara says that she has moved on, and she cannot stop Jason from doing the same thing.   “So you wouldn’t mind?” Kelly queries;  Sara confesses that she would not want to throw a party, but they are all adults,
"There's nothing to stop you now!"
and Diane suggests there is nothing to stop Kelly now.
"I'll think about it, Diane"
“I’ll think about it!” is Kelly’s reply, and Diane leaves.
"Good luck – she's your problem now!"
Sara sighs, “Good luck – she’s your problem now!”
Iolo and Siôn are exercising energetically
In the gym, Iolo and his father are pedalling furiously,
"Hi there!"
when another customer greets them, and Siôn notices that he kept looking at Iolo.
"We don't know if he is gay, Dad"
He encourages Iolo to go and talk to him, but it is pointed out that they do not know if he is gay.   Siôn seems to think that he is, maintaining that his ‘gaydar’ is very accurate.
"If I wanted to pick up a stranger, I wouldn't have brought my father"
“If I wanted to pick up a stranger, I wouldn’t have brought my father!” Iolo insists, “It doesn’t matter now, anyway – he’s gone.”
"Go and talk to him, Iolo"
But then the man returns, and Siôn encourages Iolo to go and talk to him
Iolo follows his father's advice
as he packs his equipment away.
Tesni has been preparing a meal, and remarks to Sioned, “But Kelly lives with his ex-wife!”
"It's sad, laughing at other people's lives"
Mathew considers it really sad that they are laughing at other peoples lives, but Tesni replies that everyone loves to gossip, and reminds him that this meal is a special dinner for her grandmother.
"Look, gin from the shop"
Sioned has even been to the shop to buy gin – or rather to borrow it.   She would like to join them for dinner if it is OK.
"Something smells nice!"
Brenda arrives back, commenting that something smells nice;
"Lasagne a la gin!"
Tesni shows her the ‘lasagne a la gin’, and she wonders what is the occasion.
"I hate you . . ."
Iolo finishes talking to the stranger and returns to his father;  “I hate you!” he says,
". . . he's a minister from Llanelli with a wife and two kids"
“He’s a minister from Llanelli – he saw you preaching – he has a wife and two kids – well done, Dad!”   Siôn is very apologetic.
Debbie appears to be gossiping to random people
In the café, Debbie is informing someone we have never seen before, “Kelly’s been seeing Jason,”
"Debbie – sort out the vegetable box!"
and is told rather abruptly by Kelly to sort out the veg order.
"I'm staying with Dylan tonight"
Sara comes to the counter and says there is something she did not tell Kelly;  “I’m staying with Dylan tonight.”   She walks away,
"If you want to be with Jason, I won't interfere"
but then adds, “If you decide you want to be with Jason, I won’t interfere – OK?   You do what’s right for you.”
A brief moment of indecision
Kelly looks undecided for a moment,
"Look after the café, Debbie – I have to pop out"
then removes her apron, and asks Debbie to look after the café, as she has to pop out.
"I thought I'd better walk him home"
Siôn and Iolo arrive back at Y Felin, and Iolo says, “I thought I’d better walk him home – he wouldn’t have made it without me!”   Siôn points out that he is just out of practice.
"The food smells nice"
Iolo is angling to be invited for dinner, and remarks on the food smelling nice.
"I've got half a tin of tuna in the fridge"
He goes on, “I’d better go home – at least I only have to cook dinner for one – Greta is having dinner with Tyler.   I’ve got half a tin of tuna in the fridge,” and finally Anita gets the message, and invites him to eat with them.
There is a repeated knocking at the door and Kelly comes in;  Siôn hopes that she did not get too much of a telling off from Diane, and Anita says Diane came over there earlier.
"I need a favour, Auntie Neet"
“I need a favour, Auntie Neet,” says Kelly.
"The gin wasn't expensive at all"
In the shop flat, they have enjoyed the dinner, and Brenda wonders if the gin was expensive;  “No, not at all!” Sioned replies quite honestly, and then then Tesni reminds Mathew that he had something to say to Mam-gu.
"Well, Brenda . . ."
He rather hesitantly begins, “Well, Brenda,” then changes the subject and mentions her earrings.
"I know – you want your bed back, don't you?"
She realises what he is trying to say – that he wants his bed back, and tells him not to worry,
"I've found a 'toy boy' to put a roof over my head"
as she has found a toy-boy who is going to put a roof over her head.
At that moment someone can be heard coming upstairs, and they discovered that it is Iori, has come to collect her.
"This is my young man!"
Brenda introduces him as, “My young man!” and he presents her with flowers.
"I was sorry to hear about Jimbo, Sioned"
He tells Sioned, “I was so sorry to hear about Jimbo – how’s your mother?”   Sioned replies that she is good, and Iori continues, “I’m sorry for stealing Brenda from you,”
"I want to live in a house with a bit more 'oomph'!"
and she insists that she wants to live in a house with a bit more ‘oomph’.   “Let me buy you a round in the Deri,” he suggests,
"What just happened?"
and as they disappear, Tesni wonders what just happened
"Your grandmother just found a 'sugar daddy'!"
Sioned thinks that her grandmother just found a ‘sugar daddy’, and Mathew breathes a sigh of relief.
"It was very kind to help Kelly like that"
At Y Felin, Siôn praises Anita;  “It was very kind to offer to help Kelly like that,” but she replies that is what families do in a crisis – help each other.
"You're the only ones I can talk to"
Iolo certainly appreciates their support over the last few weeks;  “Look, I know it’s not ideal that I’m here all the time, eating your food, and moaning about Tyler!   It’s just that you’re the only ones I can talk to –
"I would be thinking 'where did everything go wrong?'"
“because without you, I would just be sat at home in an empty house, on my own, thinking, ‘Where did everything go wrong?’”   Anita urges him to eat his food.
Brenda and Iori are having a great time
In the Deri, Iori and Brenda are laughing uproariously, and Sioned remarks that she thinks they are cute;  Tesni wonders what is the deal with Iori.   Mathew can see that he is very fond of her grandmother,
"I hope she doesn't take advantage of him!"
and Tesni replies, “I just hope she doesn’t take advantage of him!”
"Debbie, meet our new housemate!"
When Debbie comes in, Iori invites her to meet their new housemate, and Brenda predicts they will have a lot of fun together;  Iori adds that she likes jazz,
Debbie forces a smile
and Debbie definitely does not look very pleased.
"I'm going away for a while"
The next person to arrive in the Deri is Kelly, who is pulling a wheeled case.   She informs Diane that she is going away for a while, and is surprised when Diane thanks her;
"You're going to bring him back, aren't you?"
“You’re going to bring him back, aren’t you?”
However, Kelly informs that she is not going to see Jason;  “After the year I’ve had, I really need a break.
"I've made my decision – sorry, I have to go"
“I said that I would think about contacting Jason – and I’ve made my decision – sorry, I have to go.”
"Auntie Anita will be looking after the café"
Then she tells Debbie that she will be away for a couple of weeks, and Auntie Anita will be looking after the café, which does not please Debbie.   “I could look after the café with my eyes closed,” she maintains,
"Kelly, you can't just leave!"
Diane protests, “You can’t just leave!   How are we going to get him back?” and she follows Kelly out of the door.
John Post loads her luggage
John Post loads her case into the taxi,
"Don't you dare leave me to sort out the mess you created!"
as Diane rages, “Don’t you dare leave me to sort out the mess you created!   Don’t you care about Jason at all?   Help me get him back, then!”
"Jason needs a break – like me"
“Jason needs to do what he needs to do – and what he needs is a break – like me!” Kelly declares,
"I think it's best if we don't contact each other"
“I think it’s best if we don’t contact each other at all – it’s a lot less complicated.   I’m sorry,” and,
Kelly leaves Cwmderi
thus saying, she gets into the taxi, which drives away.
