19 March 2020

Jason has suddenly reappeared in Cwmderi
In the café, Iolo welcomes Jason back from Australia, and asks how it went.   He replies that he has missed Ifan;
"Ifan would have enjoyed it on the beach with Dadi"
“He would have enjoyed it on the beach with Dadi in the sun – all I did was eat barbecues – and the surfing!   Isn’t Kelly around, then?”
"She's gone away"
Iolo replies that she has gone away, and he has no idea of when she will be back.
"How was Oz then, mate?"
As Iolo goes back to sit with Angharad, Garry comes in for a coffee, and asks how was Oz.   Jason says he is looking forward to Sunday lunch, and Garry is surprised that he is back at work already.
"Well, that's Dai for you – I have to cover the shift"
“Well, that’s Dai for you – jet lag or not, I have to cover the shift.”
Jason is Angharad's next target
As Jason leaves, it is obvious that Angharad is taking an interest in him, and she asks who he was.
"His marriage has just fallen apart"
When Iolo explains, he adds that he does not think Jason is quite ready for . . . “Well, his marriage has fallen apart,”
"I like a man with some history"
but she maintains she likes a man with some history, as she does not know what she is going to get.
"Debbie's been arrested!"

Mark comes in, anxiously wanting a word with Garry;  “About Debbie – she’s been arrested.”
"It was bound to happen some time"
Garry points out that it was bound to happen some time,
"I'm really worried what Gwyneth will go to her"
but Mark continues, “I’m really worried what Gwyneth will do to her – she’s behind this.”
Garry is of the opinion that Gwyneth do much, where she is, but Mark begs for his help;  “Tell Gwyneth to keep her mouth shut about Debbie!”
"She's a lot of things but she's not 'The Godfather'!"
Garry replies that Gwyneth is a lot of things, but she is not Don Corleone [the ‘Godfather’, in the book of the same name].   Mark is left wondering what he can do next.
"We're going to APD – I'm buying a new bathroom!"
Angharad decides that they have to go to APD, and comes up with the imaginary scenario that she is going to buy a new bathroom;  “With an infinity mirror, and polished marble tiles –
"We have to chat at some point!"
“we have to chat at some point.
Angharad hurries off to APD
As she hurries out of the café, with Iolo trailing behind, on the other side of the road Rhys is complaining that he cannot come to the doctor with Ffion.
Ffion does not want him to come to the doctor's
“If the doctor’s going to tell me I’m going through the menopause, I don’t want you there – it’s something I have to process first,” she insists, and they are interrupted by Hywel.
"Are you free for a few hours later on?"
He asks Rhys, “Are you free for a few hours later on?”
"Yes, of course he is"
and Ffion immediately answers that he is.   “We’re moving to Llwyncelyn and I could do with some help,” Hywel goes on,
"I've only got one more client"
and Rhys agrees to go over there, after his one remaining client.
"Yes, it will look incredible!"
At APD, Jason is speaking to a customer on the phone;  “An oak floor?   Goodness me, it will look incredible!   Like I said, I’m expecting the order today,
"Look, I'll phone you tomorrow"
“so I’ll phone you tomorrow to organise when I can lay this oak floor.”
"I like the idea of an oak floor"
Angharad has just walked in, and rather fancies the idea of an oak floor;  Iolo exolains that she wants help with a new bathroom.   “I have loads of ideas, but Iolo thinks they’re too grand,” she begins,
"It's important to get what you fancy"
“It’s important to get what you fancy – I presume you have a good stock of gold pillars and mosaic baths?”
"We've got a right one here, haven't we?"
then explains she is only pulling Jason’s leg.
"We have lots of ideas, haven't we, Iolo?"
“But we have lots of ideas we would like to discuss, haven’t we, Iolo?   So why don’t we go for a coffee, or a drink, to discuss things?
"We could go after you close tonight"
“We could go after you close tonight.
"No – I'm expecting those floorboards"
He replies that he cannot, as he is expecting a delivery of floorboards,
"Iolo will look after the shop for you!"
so she volunteers Iolo, who appears to be unable to say no, to watch the shop for him.   “After all, if I’m going to spend all this money on a bathroom, I need to make sure that you know what I like!
"I'll see you in the Deri later"
“I’ll see you in the Deri later.   I’ll buy the champagne!”
Esther is enjoying some colouring . . .
As Hywel comes into Llwyncelyn, Gaynor has just discovered that Esther is colouring
. . . in one of Gaynor's official books
one of her work books, and she remarks that it is lucky she has everything on the computer.
"You shouldn't leave it within her reach, then"
reprimands her for leaving her work within Esther’s reach,
"I've told her that her things go over there"
and she replies that she has already informed Esther which is her side of the room.   “Are you going to build a wall down the middle to keep her there?’ he asks.   As he moves Esther’s pencils to the sideboard,
That photo was not there before
he notices a photograph of Sheryl there.
“You’ve put pictures of Sheryl up,” he remarks to Gaynor,
"She was Esther's mother"
and she points out that Sheryl was Esther’s mother, and it is important that she sees the photos of her.
"She will always be part of her life – and ours"
“Sheryl will always be part of Esther’s life – and our life,” she continues, and he apologises for snapping at her earlier,
"We're both lucky to have you"
maintaining that they are both so lucky to have her.
Garry is deep in thought
Garry is sitting at the table in the Deri flat, then Mark arrives,
"Gwyneth will do anything to get out of jail"
and tells him, “Listen, Gar, Gwyneth will do anything to get out of jail, right?   Look what she’s done to Debbie!”
"Debbie is responsible for a lot of things"
Garry replies that Debbie is responsible for a lot of things,
"But she didn't kill Jessie!"
but Mark insists, “Not for killing Jessie – and that’s what Gwyneth told the police.”
"Tell her to say she had nothing to do with it"
“Why don’t you just tell her to say she had nothing to do with it?” demands Garry, but Mark answers that she will be in a lot more trouble if she talks to the pigs, and she does not want those drugs scum after her.
"Are you sure Gwyneth is behind this?"
“Are you sure Gwyneth is behind this?” asks Garry, and Mark is afraid that she could lie about him as well –
"She may have something she can use against you"

she might even have something that she could use against Garry.
“Something that you have done or said – I don’t know, but we have to stop her,” he pleads,
"You leave Gwyneth to me, Mark"
and Garry tells Mark to leave Gwyneth to him.
He picks up a visiting order
He picks up from the table a visiting order, and thinks carefully.
What do you want to do with this bathroom?"
In the Deri, Jason enquires what Angharad wants to do with this bathroom;  “You said you wanted to discuss ideas for the bathroom.”
She rather extravagantly replies, “I want something that appeals to all the senses – picture this –
"Stepping into a warm bath. . . "
“stepping into a warm bath, water covering your whole body, aromatherapy,
". . . and Tchaikovsky through the speakers"
“and Tchaikovsky through the speakers.”
"We don't sell speakers at APD"
Bringing her more down to earth, Jason informs her that they do not sell speakers at APD, or aromatherapy items either.   “As long as you share my vision,” she continues.
Ffion is all hot and bothered
Ffion is waiting at Cysgod y Glyn for Rhys to arrive, and suffering from another of her hot flushes;
"And we both know what that is!"
he can see that she is sweating, and she remarks that they both know why that is.   He is taking Arwen to see Esther,
"It won't make any difference to how I feel about you"
and he assures Ffion, “Whatever the doctor says, it won’t make a difference to the way I feel about you and us, OK?   I mean it.
"Come on – we're going to see Esther"
He informs Arwen that they are going to see Esther,
"Phone me when you come out of the doctor's"
and tells Ffion to phone him when she comes out of the doctor’s.
She is obviously not herself
Ffion is obviously feeling unwell.
Now she wants to visit a bathroom showroom
Angharad continues her plan, as she looks at bathrooms online on her phone, and suggests, “We could go for a trip, have lunch, take photos of the bathrooms.”   He points out that it is too far away,
"You already have photos on your phone"
and they have photos of the bathrooms on the website, but she maintains that one does not get all the detail.
"We could stay there, if you fancy a trip"
She also proposes that they could stay there as well, if he fancies a trip.
Iolo has a problem with the delivery
Iolo suddenly comes in, at a very opportune moment, to report that the delivery has arrived, but there is water damage on the floorboards, and he does not want to sign for them,
"Thanks for the champagne, Angharad!"
so Jason agrees to go immediately, thanking Angharad for the champagne, and adding that he has to collect Ifan afterwards.
“When you decide what you want to do with this bathroom, give me a shout,” he advises her.
As soon as they have gone, she walks across to the bar with a disgusted look, just as Gaynor comes in.
"What are you celebrating, then?"
She asks what Angharad is celebrating, but she replies that she only drinks champagne these days,
"All right, I'll just have one glass"
and Gaynor is eventually persuaded to join her, although she has left Hywel and Rhys unpacking.
"Is there trouble in paradise already?"
Angharad detects that there is trouble in paradise already, but this is denied by Gaynor.
"I had to tell Gwern the truth"
In the prison, Garry informs Gwyneth that he had to tell Gwern the truth, that she has been arrested for murder and drug dealing.   “It’s better that he hears it from me, than in the school yard.”
"I don't want Gwern to think I killed that woman"
She is upset that Gwern thinks that she killed that woman, but he insists that he is trying to manage his expectations.
"The evidence against you is very solid"
“Gwyn, the evidence against you is very solid,” he emphasises, but she protests that she has been framed.
"Why are you dragging Debbie into this?"
He wonders why she is dragging Debbie into this, as she may have made Debbie and her family a target now.
She is convinced that the police are not taking her seriously about Debbie, as all they have done is to question her;  Garry enlightens her that Debbie has now been arrested, and is out on bail;
"They have obviously got new evidence"
“They have obviously got new evidence – aren’t you responsible?”   Gwyneth mournfully announces that she does not have any evidence against Debbie, and is asked who then has framed her.
She is still resolutely determined that it is Jaclyn behind all this, but Garry is unable to believe that;
"I'm not a fantasist – Jaclyn was Jessie's friend"
“I’m many things, Garry, but I’m not a fantasist – Jaclyn, Jessie’s friend!   The only person from the valley at her funeral.”
"Be honest with me, and I'll help you"
Garry demands she tells him everything she knows;  “Be honest with me, and I’ll help you.”
"I really ought to help with the unpacking"
In the Deri, Gaynor is now drinking champagne with Angharad, and  thinks she ought to go home to help with the unpacking,
The champagne is affecting Gaynor
but would rather stay there (the Champagne must be taking effect).   Angharad wonders how she feels about having another child around,
"Esther is lovely"
and she replies that Esther is lovely.
"Sheryl's are big shoes to fill"
Angharad says that she feels sorry for her, losing her mother and everything, but maintains that things will not be easy for Gaynor;  “Sheryl’s are big shoes to fill.   Everyone who dies when they’re young and pretty are, well, perfect for ever, aren’t they?”
Gaynor regards it as strange that Sheryl and Hywel lived in Llwyncelyn for a while;
"We didn't have much in common – apart from Hywel"
“It’s years ago now – old news – we didn’t have much in common, apart from Hywel, of course, but she was nice enough.   Well, she couldn’t be without a man – she went from one to another – but, fair play, she was a good hairdresser.”
"Went from one man to another – but was a good hairdresser!"
Angharad regards that as good tagline;  “Went from one man to another – but was a good hairdresser!”   She is sure that Esther will have a good life with Gaynor and Hywel.
"She'll have more opportunities than with Sheryl"
“I don’t want to blow my own trumpet, but she’ll have a lot more opportunities now than she would have with Sheryl,” boasts Gaynor, “Being mine and Hywel’s child will open more doors for her than a Ritz doorman!”
Suddenly Gaynor fancies a bowl of chips
She concedes that perhaps this is the champagne talking, and thinks that she will have a glass of water – and a bowl of chips.
Angharad takes out her phone . . .
Gaynor seems to be finding it difficult to walk to the bar, and as she does so, Angharad retrieves from her handbag her phone,
. . . which has been recording for the last seven minutes . . .
which shows that it has been recording audio for the last seven minutes and eight seconds.
. . . and she has obviously planned something
She looks rather pleased with herself.
"I want you to find the best solicitor you can"
In the prison visiting room, Gwyneth tells Garry, “I want you to find the best solicitor you can, someone to find the truth,” but he advises that will be expensive.   She promises that she will pay every penny back, even if she has to sell the house.
"Remember all those times I tried to persuade you to stop?"
“Do you remember six months ago when I found out you were dealing drugs?” he begins, “When Jessie kidnapped Gwern – all those times Dani and I tried to persuade you to stop, but you were determined to carry on.”
"I know I've made a lot of mistakes, Garry"
She confesses that she has made a lot of mistakes, and he reminds her,
"I almost lost everything because of you"
“I almost lost everything because of you – Dani, my marriage – and we lost the baby of course.”   She pleads that she did not kill Jessie, but he continues, “You chose to be part of that world, didn’t you?   And that’s why you’re here.”
"I was desperate for money – if you had helped me . . ."
She blames him, insisting, “I was desperate for money – if you had helped me . . .”
"You've never once helped me"
He replies that he has always helped her, adding that she has never helped him – not once.   Now she is looking really worried.
"Do you know what I see?   An opportunity!"
“I’m looking at you here, now, up to your ears in the worst kind of trouble, and do you know what I see?” he goes on, “An opportunity – to pay you back for everything you’ve put Dani and me through.   For almost getting Gwern killed, for Brandon’s murder.”
"I didn't kill Jessie!"
She is reduced to desperation, and begs him to believe her;  “I didn’t kill Jessie!” but he does not care about that, and maintains that it is too late anyway.
"I've told the police everythingI know about you"
“I’ve been to the police, and I’ve told them everything I know about you!”
"But I'm Gwern's mother!"
She protests that she is Gwern’s mother, but he reminds her that he is his father.   “Don’t worry about Gwern – he’ll be fine.
"You're not going to be part of his life any more"
He growls menacingly, “You’re not going to be part of his life any more, because I’m going to make sure that this is your home for a very long time.”
"You can't do this to me, Garry!"
She begs him not to do this,
"Don't do this to me!"
then jumps from her chair, shouting, “Don’t do this to me!”
She is forcibly restrained . . .
and has to be forcibly restrained by two prison officers,
. . . and dragged away, while Garry . . .
and then is dragged away, still screaming.
. . . calmly takes another sip of water before leaving
Garry takes another sip of water, then leaves the visiting room.
Another hot flush is coming on
At the doctor’s, Ffion is feeling another hot flush coming on, and the doctor agrees that it is warm in there.
"Your hormone levels are no lower that I'd expect"
“Right, good news – your hormone levels are no lower than I’d expect for a woman your age,” she announces.   Ffion realises that she is not going through the menopause, but she is going to be subjected to more tests.
Ffion's vision becomes blurred . . .
Ffion feels her surroundings burring, and
. . and she vomits blood on the desk
suddenly, she throws up blood over the desk;  the doctor urgently calls for an ambulance;
Ffion is extremely frightened
Ffion is extremely frightened.
