"Jason Francis?"

As a police car is parked outside number 9, Jason remarks to Dylan, “What have you done now?” but then the female constable approaches him.

“Jason Francis?” she asks, and Dylan laughs;  “Can we talk somewhere private?”

"What's this all about?"

Jason looks confused.

Rhys is making a nuisance of himself

Inside the Deri, a drunken Rhys is trying to chat up a stranger;  “Do you want to come to my house?   There’s no-one there.”   She tries to avoid him, and Britt, behind the bar, tells him to show a bit of respect.

"I'll have a Scotch now – I think the lager's off!"

Rhys grimaces as he continues, “I’ll have a Scotch now – I think the lager’s off!”   Colin is at the bar, and warns him to direct his complaints to Cassie, who will be back shortly.   “I’m just enjoying myself –  do you want a drink?” Rhys replies, but it is too early for Colin.

Colin is spending time with his wife

“Anyway, I’m here to spend time with my wife,” Colin informs him.   Rhys maintains that he is jealous of Colin –

"Having a wife and a bit on the side in Penrhewl!"

having a wife and a bit on the side in Penrhewl.

"What's wrong with you today"

“What’s wrong with you today?” angrily demands Colin.

Dylan orders Rhys to go home

Dylan has just come in and orders Rhys, “Come home for lunch!” but he protests he is in the middle of chatting up Christine.

"Yes, before I ban you!"

Britt is becoming tired of his behaviour and advises him to go before he is banned.

"I should go back to Eileen, Col!"

Rhys recommends that Colin should go back to Eileen.

"Drink your herbal tea, Colin"

This is the last straw for Colin, and as he is about to go and sort Rhys out, Britt encourages him that instead he should drink his herbal tea.

PC Thomas is collecting the facts

PC Thomas talks to Jason at Llwyncelyn, stressing they are just collecting the facts at the moment;  “According to Mrs Francis, you two kissed and Miss Evans came home and caught you.”

'No – she kissed me!"

Jason makes it perfectly clear that Sara kissed him, and wonders what she has been telling the police.   “Is that when she attacked Mrs Francis?” the PC goes on.

“It wasn’t an attack,” Jason insists, but is told that Mrs Francis is in a lot of pain.   The PC wants to know exactly what happened.

"She did lose the plot for a second or two"

“Well, Kelly did lose the plot for a second or two, yes, but . . .”   PC Thomas thanks him for admitting that at least.

"I'm here to price up the plastering job"

Izzy arrives at Llwyncelyn;  “Sorry to disturb you – I’m here to price up the plastering job,” she tells her mother,

"You know nothing about damp"

who rather sceptically points out that she knows nothing about damp.   “I can take photos and measure up,” says Izzy

Izzy grits her teeth and carries on

and is directed to her old room.

Hywel has just come in and Gaynor sneers, “This is a joke!”

"Do us all a favour and make up with her"

but he says it is obvious that Izzy wants to talk, so Gaynor should do them all a favour, and try to make up with her.   He also reminds her they are meeting in the Deri later.

"If you hadn't interrupted . . ."

Rhys is now lying on the sofa, complaining, “If you hadn’t interrupted, I’d be upstairs now.”   Dylan brings him a cup of coffee and tells him to drink it in silence.

"Shut it – you're giving me a headache!"

“You’re giving me a headache – and I’m just trying to help you!” Dylan snarls;

"I don't need any help"

Rhys is quite adamant that he does not need help,

"I understand you're upset"

but is told, “I understand you’re upset about Ffion, the abortion, your father – but you have to find a way of moving forward, now!”

"I'm just enjoying myself"

With a stupid grin on his face, Rhys maintains that he is just enjoying himself, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Izzy gives her recommendations

Izzy has carried out her task and returns to her mother;  “Right, I’d suggest tanking the wall – there’s special stuff to be had – and then the crack in the render outside will need to be filled to stop the water coming in.”

"There's no need to look for an excuse to talk to me"

Gaynor turns and tells her daughter, “There’s no need to look for an excuse to talk to me, you know.

"You don't know the difference between a nail and a screw"

“You don’t know the difference between a nail and a screw.”   Izzy says she just wants them to make up –

"I don't like the bitterness between us"

she does not like the bitterness between them.

Her mother admits that she has been a bit childish by not giving APD the plastering job;

"I'm sorry"

“I was trying to prove a point, and I’m sorry.”

Izzy thinks this is 'one up' to her

Izzy is very pleased to accept this apology and considers that they are now quits.

Gaynor offers her a glass of wine;  “But not a word to the boss!” says Izzy, then considers that the time is right to approach her mother about the money.

"Mathew and I have decided to buy a house"

“Mathew and I have decided to buy a house,” she begins, and Gaynor is surprised.   “We’ve seen one that suits as perfectly – we’d sign straightaway, but we need another £3,000 for the deposit.”

Gaynor was expecting that

Her mother had been expecting that.

In the bookshop, Colin is perusing the titles

Colin suggests a yoga book in Welsh

and suggests to Siôn, “I think there’s a gap in the market for a yoga book in Welsh.   You could translate the terms – right then, ‘asana’ – what would that be in Welsh?

"Whats the Welsh for 'downward dog'?"

“Or ‘downward dog’?”

Siôn is becoming exasperated;  “Sorry, Colin, do you mind?   I’m busy!”

Colin leaves the shop

and he walks out, disappointed, meeting Tesni who is approaching.

“Watch out – Daniel Owen isn’t in a very good mood,” Colin warns her.

"I'm sorry for deceiving you, Siôn"

She apologises once again to Siôn for deceiving him and offers to work for free until she can pay back what she owes.

"There's no need"

“There’s no need,” he mutters, but she realises that £800 is a lot of money,

"It's the only way I can forgive myself"

“and it is the only way she can forgive herself.   “You don’t have to do it all at once,” he assures her,

"I'll take a bit out of your wages each month"

“I’ll take a bit out of your wages every month until it’s paid off – how does that sound?”   She is very relieved.

Jason is apprehensive

At Llwyncelyn, Jason is anxious as Kelly comes into the house;  “Why is there a cop car outside the house?” she demands, and he answers that Sara has reported her.

"There's someone to see you, Kelly"

“You what?” Kelly squeals, and he points out that  someone is there to see her.

PC Thomas wants a word

“PC Thomas, and PC Lewis is in the car outside,” the officer announces, “I want a word about what happened between you and Mrs Sara Francis.”

"It was a misunderstanding"

Kelly replies that it was a misunderstanding, but is informed, “Mrs Francis has made some serious allegations.”

Jason interrupts with, “ABH,” and Kelly laughs,

"I regret not giving her ABH!"

maintaining that she does regret not giving Sara ABH, adding that the police should arrest her for wasting police time.

"Kelly Evans, I'm arresting you"

The PC is unimpressed, advising her, “Kelly Evans, I’m arresting you on suspicion of a physical assault on Mrs Sara Francis.”

Kelly is troubled

Kelly looks rather sheepish.

"The bank of Mam again!"

Gaynor’s reaction is as expected;  “The bank of Mam again!” she comments, as she drinks another glass of wine.

"Investing in your daughter's future"

Izzy insists that she would be investing in her daughter’s future.   “But who knows what you will spend it on?” Gaynor asks.

Izzy says the reason she came home from Thailand was to settle in Cwmderi;  “Start a family – you’re excited to be a grandmother, aren’t you?”

Gaynor studies the house details

Gaynor is studying the details of the house,

"Maes-y-Deri?   That's not a nice place!"

and turns up her nose at the idea of it being in Maes-y-Deri, which she maintains is not a nice place.

"You'll have to have a job that pays better"

“And you’ll have to have a job that pays better so you can save money and show you’re responsible.

"You could do better than being Mathew's skivvy!"

“You could do better than being Mathew’s skivvy!”   Izzy accuses her of being a snob, but Gaynor protests that she just wants what is best for her daughter.

“Are you sure Mathew’s the one you want to settle down with?   Buying a house together is a big step.”

"So Mathew's not good enough for me"

Izzy realises that now Mathew is not good enough for her, according to her mother.

"You don't know how long the relationship will last"

“You don’t know how long the relationship will last – why not save your money and buy your own house?”

“What’s wrong with you, Mam?   “Why are you never happy with my decisions?” Izzy demands.

Another swig of wine

Gaynor, taking another swig of wine, maintains that they are flighty and rash;  she compares Izzy with her sister, Lois, who has had her share of problems, but is living independently without her mother’s help.

"You love her more than me!"

Izzy can see, “She’s your favourite – you love her more than me!”

"Can you blame me, when you say stupid things like that?"

Gaynor wonders if she can be blamed when Izzy says stupid things like that.   Izzy tells her, “You’re a mess, Mam – look at you – you’re an alcoholic!” and prepares to march out of the house.   “Why did I bother to come here in the first place?”

She puts down her glass

Gaynor rather guiltily puts down her glass.

"I've tried talking to him and being tough"

Dylan has summoned Hywel to talk to his son;  “I’ve tried talking to him and being tough with him – perhaps there’s something seriously wrong,” says Dylan,

"There's nothing wrong with him"

but Hywel maintains there is nothing wrong with Rhys.

Dylan leaves the house and Hywel calls his son to come downstairs, asking if he has sobered up.

"Just say what you've got to say and go!"

“Just say what you’ve got to say and go!” Rhys snarls.

"When's this behaviour going to stop?"

Hywel demands when this behaviour is going to stop;  “I didn’t say anything about the abortion because I was protecting you.   Did you really want a child with Ffion?   I’ve tried my best with you over the years – I’ve tried to reason with you but there’s no point – you’re too immature to be sensible.    You sulk like you’re six again!”

"How would you know?   You weren't there!"

“How would you know?   You weren’t there!” Rhys shouts, “I’m sure it was the worst day of your life when Mam died, because you were stuck with me, then.

"Then you remembered about Gran and dumped me there"

“But you remembered about Gran and dumped me there!”

"Meilir was a real child who died in my arms!"

Hywel protests that the worst day of his life was when Meilir died;    “Meilir was a real child who died in my arms!”

"And Ffion's baby was my child!"

Rhys points out that Ffion’s baby was his child, although Hywel maintains that the two cannot be compared.

“You’re right – you had your chance, didn’t you?   And I didn’t,” rages Rhys, but his father stresses that it was Ffion’s decision, not his.

"When one wants a child, and the other doesn't"

“I know what it’s like one wants a child, and the other doesn’t – that’s why I didn’t tell you about Ffion.   I didn’t want you to go through what I did – it’s complicated – I didn’t have the choice of being a father or not – I was young, just like you.

"I'm sorry for not telling you"

But I sympathise with you because the choice was out of your hands.   If you want me to apologise for not telling you about Ffion, so you can move on, then I’m sorry.”

"You wanted Mam to have an abortion"

Rhys realises, “You wanted Mam to have an abortion.”   Hywel thought like that at the time, but is glad that she did not.

He goes to sit down

Rhys goes to sit down on the sofa, and his father is in a hurry to leave, having to meet Gaynor.

"You never wanted me"

“It all makes sense now,” Rhys muses, “That’s why you’ve always been like this with me – making me feel that I’m a nuisance.   You never wanted me.”

"I know what it's like"

Hywel was trying to explain that he knows what it is like to surrender the decision to the woman in this situation.
“Do you regret not persuading Mam to get rid of me?” Rhys demands,

"You're too immature to have this conversation"

but his father shouts that Rhys is too immature to have this conversation, and walks out.

Jason is pleased to see Kelly return

Jason is extremely relieved when Kelly walks back into Llwyncelyn;  he was worried that they would keep her in.

"Did you tell the cops I attacked Sara?"

“Did you tell the cops that I attacked Sara?” she demands, and he says he was as economical with the truth as he could be.   “Jason – you’re the only witness – it’s your word against hers!” Kelly exclaims, but he argues that he could not lie.

"You did attack her, Kelly!"

“You attacked her, Kelly!” he points out, but she is convinced that Sara is out to get her –

"Now she's going to succeed"

and it looks as if she is going to succeed.   She goes upstairs, warning Jason not to follow her.

"I can't believe your mother said that"

Mathew cannot believe that Izzy’s mother said such a thing;  “Did she try to apologise?”   Then her father comes rushing in, wanting to know who has upset her.
Colin is also very worried about her

“You marched through the shop without a word,” he says, and discovers that was Gaynor.   “You two need your heads banging together sometimes!” he growls.

"She loves Lois more than me!"

Izzy says, “She loves Lois more than me!” and he wonders where she got that idea from;  “She told me!” Izzy replies,

"You're imagining things, Izzy"

but he accuses her of imagining things.

“You obviously don’t believe me – thanks for your support, Dad,” she continues.

Colin will go and have a word with Gaynor, and Izzy asks, “Do you love Lois more than me, too?”

"I love you exactly the same, 60/40!"

He protests that he loves them both exactly the same, but then unadvisedly adds, “60/40,” and she is keen for him to go.

"Why have you forgiven me, Siôn?"

Tesni asks Siôn why he has forgiven her;  “Because I’m a saint,” he jokingly replies, “When I was in school I was a very negative boy – I always went contrary to everything.

"One teacher gave me another chance"

“But one teacher showed faith in me and gave me another chance – I’ll never forget that.”

"And that's what you're doing to me"

She realises that he is doing the same to her.

"If you still want to do the course, I'll pay"

He has another proposal;  “If you still want to do the Welsh literature course, I’ll pay the fee.”   However, there is something she needs to admit to him, and he hopes that it does not involve more stealing.

"I don't think Welsh literature is the right course"

“I don’t think Welsh literature is the right course for me,” she says,

"Choose whichever course you want"

and he agrees she is free to choose whatever course she wants.

She cannot believe his generosity,

Tesni suddenly kisses him

impulsively moves forward and kiss him, then realises what she has done,

She is most apologetic

apologising profusely.

"I don't expect favours like that"

“You’ve misunderstood!” he exclaims, “I don’t expect any favours like that!” and she finds it very embarrassing.   Siôn says that they will forget about it and not mention it again;  “You’d better go home and choose which course you want.”

"The taxi is waiting, Gaynor"

Hywel comes into the Deri just as Gaynor is finishing her meal, and advises that the taxi is waiting for them;  she has to visit the toilet, and he tells her to hurry.

Colin is in an anxious state

Colin is still very wound up about earlier, but Britt attempts to calm him,

"Count to ten, Mr Yoga!"

“Count to ten, now, Mr Yoga – or you’ll say something you’ll regret.”   He says that he and Gaynor and the girls have remained friends through everything –

"This could spoil everything"

and this could spoil everything for ever.

"One minute you want to murder your family . . ."

“From my experience, one minute you want to murder your family, and the next you’re sprinting for a defib to save them!” Britt tells him, and he does not know what he would do without her, calling her, ‘Mrs Yoga’.

"I want to talk, Dad"

Rhys comes in, wanting to speak to his father,

Hywel is off on holiday

but Hywel announces;   that they are going away;  “The three of us – these last few weeks have been very stressful – I’d appreciate some space.”

"Don't you think I deserve an explanation?"

“Don’t you think I deserve an explanation about what you said?” Rhys demands, as Gaynor returns,

"We'll talk when I get back"

but Hywel maintains they will talk when they come back, so Rhys walks out of the pub.   Hywel tells Gaynor that everything is all right, and now they have to hurry.

"I can't wait to see the little one on the screen"

Dylan is preparing a meal, and speaking to Dani on the phone, “Yes, I’m available to take you to the hospital – and I cant wait to see the little one on the screen.   Of course, 3:45pm in the Deri – I’ll be there, I promise – but remember, I’m looking forward to seeing you, too.”

"Things didn't go well, then?"

Rhys has come back to the house, and Dylan assumes that things did not go well with his father;

"Everyone hates their parents sometimes"

“Don’t worry – everybody hates their parents sometimes,” he comments.

"They're going on holiday"

Rhys reports that they are going on holiday;

"I'm going to burn Llwyncelyn "

“If they insist on leaving – I’m going to burn Llwyncelyn!” he mutters.

"How many sausages do you want, Rhys?"

As he walks out of the house, Dylan asks how many sausages he wants,

"Rhys?"

then looks worried when he finds Rhys is no longer there.

In his haste, the frying pan is knocked to the floor

As he turns to follow Rhys, he knocks the frying pan to the floor.
