Dani is angry with Gwern; she sternly tells him, “You had two jobs to do today – get up and catch up with school work! Now you’ve done one – and had a wash.”

Once again he protests, “I’m not going back to school – end of!”
Dani thinks otherwise; that he is going back in September.

"I'll have plenty of money" |
“I’m going to sell Mam’s house and then I’ll have plenty of money,” he announces.

"Can I have the money back?" |
She asks him how long he thinks that is going to take; “Because I’m a little bit short this month after giving you money last week – so can I have the money back?” He replies that does not have any.

Mark walks in in the argument |
“Well, I’m willing to reconsider, if you go back to school,” she snarls, just as Mark comes in through the back door, wondering what has happened.

"She's blackmailing me" |
“She’s blackmailing me into going back to school,” Gwern answers, and Dani calls for Seren to hurry up.

Huwi-John has an envelope . . . |
Huwi-John is carrying an envelope which he places in his bag,

together with a packet of sweets; he zips up the bag, then hears his mother coming and quickly sits down the sofa.

"Are you ill, Huwi?" |
Come on, Huwi – the holiday club is starting in half an hour,” Eileen tells him, then sees his pained expression. “Are you ill?” she asks;

"You haven't got a temperature" |
he confirms that he is, although he does not have a raised temperature. He maintains that he has a stomach ache.

"What is it, Rhydian?" |
Eileen’s phone sounds and she finds that it is the farmhand, Rhydian,

"What – now?" |
who needs her to come out urgently. “Stay here and rest – we’ll see how you are when I get back,” she tells Huwi.

As soon as she is out of the house, he jumps up, puts on his cap and bag,

When Mark brings some toast, Gwern complains, “No jam?”

He is given a lecture by Mark |
He is told that sometimes in life you have to take responsibility for things yourself.
“You’re not thinking about Dani at all, are you? She’ll be breaking the law if you refuse to go to school.”

Gwern replies that he will be the one refusing to go to school. “That makes no difference in the eyes of the law –

"She's responsible for you and she'll pay" |
“she’s responsible for you and she’ll pay the fine – from the school or the council. They will fine her.”

"I'll pay her with money from the house" |
As usual, Gwern says that he will repay her with money from the house. “You’ve got an answer for everything, haven’t you?” Mark groans, “But you can’t pay to get her out of prison, can you?

“She could go to prison, if you won’t go to school – check on your phone, if you don’t believe me. Its a huge risk to take, considering your situation.”

"Do you really want to lose the only person left?" |
Dani has silently returned through the back door as Mark elaborates, “Your Dad’s already in jail – your mother’s dead – do you really want to lose the only person left . . ?”

"What are you doing, Mark?" |
Dani stops him there, demanding what he is doing; “Someone has to tell him,” Mark insists, and she sends Gwern upstairs immediately.

DJ appears to be rushed off his feet today as he hurries out of the kitchen with an order, and thanks Geraint for his custom.

"It looks busy" |
Mathew comes in, pleased to see that it is busy and is told that it has been like this ever since he opened.
“Anita’s idea worked, then,” says Mathew; DJ is pleased to report that the loyalty cards are working well.

"Can you take these to the kitchen?" |
His phone sounds and he asks Mathew to take two empty cups to the kitchen while he answers it.

"Huwi's done what?" |
“Eileen, sorry, I don’t have time now – Huwi’s done what? Don’t worry – he did this while you were in hospital –

"He's probably hiding in the shed" |
“he’s probably hiding in the shed.” He tells Mathew that Huwi is hiding somewhere, and thanks him for his help.
“What do you want me to do next?” Mathew asks, “Jason’s covering APD,”

so he is told to clean up while DJ serves.

Eileen sets off in search of Huwi |
Eileen comes out of the door of Penrhewl and calls her son’s name;

In the background we catch sight of him running away from the farm as quickly as he can.

At number 7, Dani insists, “You can’t talk to him like that!”

but Mark is adamant that he has to know. “But you were threatening him,” she points out, and he reminds her that she was bribing Gwern earlier.

“I’ll try anything to get him to listen to me,” she says, and Mark maintains that he tried something different. “But it’s not your place,” she protests.
“You can’t let him do what he likes, Dani,” Mark warns, but she is sure that they must be careful.

He is of the opinion that a few home truths will not do any harm, but she stresses that he is not the boy’s parent. “Neither are you,” Mark comments.

“I’m the closest thing he’s got and I’m trying my best. I know you’re trying to help, but he is my responsibility.”

Mathew is even given a tip |
In the deli, Mathew is marking one customer’s loyalty card and reminds him to bring it with him next time. He is surprised that the customer leaves a tip.

DJ is very grateful to him for helping out and Mathew seems to be enjoying it; he is told that he can keep the tip, but he wants to share it with the chef.

Jinx comes in and remarks on the new member of staff; “I couldn’t have managed without him today,” says DJ.

Jinx wants a sandwich, and is told that they have some local meat or some lovely cheese in the fridge.

DJ’s phone rings again, and Eileen is becoming desperate as she cannot find Huwi anywhere; “I’ll be up there straightaway,” he tells her,

Mathew will look after the deli while he is gone.

Dani has now calmed down slightly and brings Mark a cup of tea as a peace offering;

“I’m sorry – I just don’t want to upset him even more,” she says, “He could go right off the rails, you know.”

Mark understands that and was only trying to help;

“Sometimes it is easier when one person sets the rules,” Dani tells him, “And that’s my job, isn’t it?”
“How’s he going to be when he gets the money from selling the house?” Mark wonders,

and she replies that he is not going to sell the house; rather they are going to move in there.

"Have you seen Huwi-John?" |
There is a knock at the door and Jinx asks if they have seen Huwi-John, who has gone missing; “I said I would look around the village – can you keep an eye out?”

Dani goes out to look with Jinx, and Mark says that they will talk later.

DJ drives towards Penrhewl and stops when he sees Huwi’s cap lying in the road;

he goes to pick it up and calls the boy’s name, but there is no reply.

As they walk along the High Street, Dani asks Jinx if she is doing the right thing, moving them all again; “We’ve only just left the Deri.” He points out that she will only be moving next door and will be a few steps nearer to work.

They look at the front door of number 9, and he wonders if she likes the colour ‘teal’.
“Not really, no,” she answers, but she does want her own space – a place for them as a family.

Jinx maintains that she has nothing to lose.

Eileen is on the phone at Penrhewl, and is in a state of extreme anxiety,

She rushes across the room to hug him, demanding, “Where have you been?” DJ found him on the road to the village; “You know you’re not allowed to go to the village without me,” his mother scolds him.

Huwi tells her, “I wanted to catch a bus to see Sioned,”

"She's not well enough to see you" |
but she explains that Sioned is not well enough to see him.

"He feels upset, don't you, Huwi?" |
DJ thinks that the boy feels upset because they see her and he does not.
“You miss her that much, don’t you, boy?” says DJ and Huwi enthusiastically nods his head. “She is a lot better now,” but Eileen does not want him to see her looking ill and be worried.

DJ considers that she will be up to seeing a little visitor; “She’s getting bored there, all alone.”

Eileen agrees that they will both go to see her, as long as he promises never to disappear like that again.

DJ is anxious to get back to the deli before Mathew wrecks the place and asks Huwi to tell Sioned he will see her later – and give her a big hug.

As he and Dani enter number 9, Jinx receives a text message to say that Huwi has been found.
“I have been here before,” she points out, “You didn’t need to get the keys from Cassie.”

He appreciates that; “Changing your mind and being uncertain is one thing – but being here will help you make a decision, won’t it?”

Dani says that it is bigger (although from the outside, it looks very similar to number 7).
“More bedrooms upstairs,” she goes on,

and Jinx adds that it will be quieter without Mark,

and there will be plenty of privacy for him to do this, as he kisses her.

“So that’s why you want me to move in, then,” she realises.

“I just want you to be happy, OK? And I don’t think you are at the moment,” he tells her.

She maintains that it is just difficult with Mark – he is great with the children, but she needs her own place.
She thinks they could make this a nice home – something stable for Gwern, for them all.

“Obviously we would have to decorate the place,” she insists and Jinx boasts that he is good with a paintbrush.
“Oh – are you cheap?” she enquires,

Mathew appears to have everything under control at the deli when DJ returns; “I’m glad you found Huwi,” says Mathew.

DJ is surprised that nothing has gone wrong in his absence.

“All the customers were happy and I enjoyed myself. I’ve decided that I want to help you out – just at lunch times, and if you need me, Jason is fine on his own for an hour. I could come in before or after work as well, if you want.”

DJ says that he has done more than enough; “I’m sorry I can’t pay you.”

Mathew jokes that he will keep the tips.

At the hospital, Sioned is pleased to see her little brother and he produces a card for her;

Eileen tries to hide her concern that he ran away and says that he has been working hard on that card.

“You must have had some help to do this picture,” Sioned insists, but he assures her it is all his own work. “Well you’re more clever than when I came in here,” she comments. She will put the card by the side of her bed so that she can see it every day.

Then he hands her a packet of sweets; “I’ll tell you what – you can have these because I won’t be able to eat them,” she says,

“I’ll be home soon – but there’s no definite date yet.” Eileen is feeling less worried now.

Dani is having a heart to heart talk with Gwern; “So you can see why you can’t sell the house.”

He cannot believe that they are seriously going to live there.

"Everyone gets their own bedroom" |
“Don’t you like that idea? Everyone gets their own bedroom – we can make it a nice home for us – but you will own it.”

He imagines that he can change rooms in that case; he fancies his mother’s old room.

"Oh yes, the biggest one!" |
“Oh yes, the biggest one!” says Dani, “But we can paint it and have it exactly the way we want it.”
Of course he is still thinking about the money,

and she explains that there will be no money, because the money will be in the house; “But you’ll always have a house – and that’s really important.”

He realises that he will have to go back to school in September and is told that he always had to go back to school; “And while you’re there, I want you to work hard, do all the work and you never know, you might get an amazing job. Then you could build a mansion with a swimming pool and a helipad.

Neither of them notice that Mark is listening from the kitchen as Dani hugs Gwern.

As they eat their meal in Penrhewl, Eileen asks Huwi, “Which do you prefer, peas or carrots?” He immediately replies that he prefers peas, so her next question is, “Bread or potatoes?”

Then she gets to the point of her interrogation; “Mami or Sioned?”

Without any hesitation he answers, “Sioned!”

which disappoints his mother, and she remarks that he had fun earlier.

“Sioned’s my best friend,” he says, but he is reminded that she is his big sister, not his best friend.
“What about Llew and Deio at school? I thought they were your best friends,” but Huwi insists that it is Sioned. Then he is told that she is not there at the moment, so Eileen suggests that they could do something together.

“We could go swimming, or kick a ball about outside,” but she has rather a shock when he reveals that his friend Llew thought that Eileen was his grandmother; he did point out she was his mother.

Jinx finds an item of post addressed to him; he takes out the letter inside and cannot believe what he is reading. He takes out his phone and calls the number on the letter;
