Dorian arrives at Penrhewl
A vehicle rolls into the farm yard at Penrhewl;
"Remember what I said"
Howard tells Sioned and Mathew, “Remember what I said about his humour, all right? And I apologise beforehand.”
He tickles Howard . . .
Dorian gets out and greets Howard, “Ah, virgin – how are you, mate?” He grabs Howard’s hand and begins to tickle him; “That never fails with you, does it?” he laughs,
. . . much to Sioned's horror
as Sioned looks on, horrified.
"Your face was like a beetroot"
“I remember your sisters pinning you down and tickling you when you were young until your face was like a beetroot!”
"I'm Sioned"
Sioned rather hesitantly welcomes him to Penrhewl and introduces herself; “Oh, Sioned, right? I’ve heard a lot about you!”
"Perhaps you're not a virgin after all, then"
He turns to Howard and continues, “Perhaps you’re not a virgin after all, then – I’m only winding you up – you’ll have to learn to ignore me.
"You can't take me anywhere"
“I’m one of those Neanderthals – you can’t take me anywhere.”
"Sioned and Mathew are a couple"
Howard points out to him that Sioned and Mathew are a couple.
"You couldn't pull something of that standard"
“Of course they are – you don’t believe I’d think that you’d be able to pull something of that standard, do you?”
Sioned is developing an instant dislike
Sioned is becoming tired of this already, as Dorian turns his attention to Mathew;
"Long John Silver, is it?"
“Long John Silver, is it? What happened to you?” He is told that Mathew had an accident on the quad. “Fancy yourself as a boy racer, do you? No wonder you need a bit of help round here.”
"Howard will show yon around"
Mathew informs him that they are going inside now and that Howard can show him around.
"Do you still wet the bed?"
As they walk away, Dorian enquires, “Do you still wet the bed?”
"What's going on?"
In the village, Garry meets Eleri, telling her that he has not been back to the flat as she asked and wants to know what is going on.
"He refuses rot accept that I want a divorce"
“He refuses to accept that I want a divorce. According to Kyle, once I’m back in New York, I’ll come to my senses.”
Garry asks whether she has told him about her and Jinx; “I just told him I was in love with someone else, but we were in this restaurant and I was about to tell him –
"Huw walked in"
“and Huw walked in – he had a meeting I knew nothing about. Seeing them side-by-side . . . Kyle said if he can’t have me, no-one can have me, so you do the maths.”
"You have to go to the cops"
Garry maintains that she has no choice after a threat like that – she has to go to the cops. She is adamant that she cannot do that;
"Could you move pout for a while?"
“I was going to ask whether you’d be willing to move out for a while.”
"He's stopping you having friends?"
Garry cannot believe that Kyle is stopping her having friends now.
"He thinks you're the person I'n in love with"
“No, he thinks we’re more than just friends – he thinks you’re the person I’m in love with.”
“And you didn’t correct him?
"The American psycho thinks I'm sleeping with his wife?"
“So the American psycho thinks I’m sleeping with his wife – thanks!”
Her proposal is that she tells Kyle that everything is over between them and that Garry is moving out,
'You just asked for a divorce"
but he reminds her that she has just asked for a divorce.
"I'm sorry for dragging you into this"
“I’m sorry for dragging you into this, but you can handle yourself better than Huw – you know you can. I wasn’t joking when I said he was dangerous.”
Garry agrees that he will go back to the flat to get his stuff and try to persuade Kyle that it is over between them.
"But you have to tell Jinx"
“But you have to tell Jinx!” he stresses.
"I just want to get him out of my life"
Eleri does not want to make things worse, but just to get Kyle out of her life. “Cwmderi is a small place – sooner or later Kyle and Jinx will find out about each other – and then . . .” Garry walks away.
She passes Mark in the street . . .
Eleri hurries along the street, where she passes Mark who is carrying some boxes,
. . . and he nearly collides with Jinx
almost running into Jinx as he comes out of number 9.
"Wow – very retro!"
He picks up one of the games and remarks, “Wow, very retro – these are coming back into fashion now from what I understand.”
Mark hopes that he is right, then Jinx notices one of the other games, Cluedo;
"Miss Scarlet in the Deri with a lager bottle"
“The crime here would be Miss Scarlet in the Deri, with a lager bottle.”
"I'm moving out . . ."
Back at Cysgod y Glyn, Garry finds Kyle looking at the laptop; “I’ve come to get my stuff – I’m moving out. Just so you know, it’s over – Eleri and me –
". . . I didn't know she was married"
“I didn’t know she was married – no-one knew.”
"You're giving her up so easily?"
Kyle is surprised that he is willing to give up Eleri so easily. Garry replies that it is complicated,
"I've got a lot of other things going on"
“And I’ve got other things going on – I don’t need this.”
“But she’s in love with you, apparently,” Kyle goes on.
"You've been listening to her, then"
"I know everything about you, Garry"
Kyle insists, “This is none of your business, Garry – just like you and your family are none of my business. Yes, I know everything about you – a son who’s been in prison, a sister and her fried chicken shop – oh, and Seren.”
"If I hear that you've even talked to my family . . ."
Garry simply laughs and warns him, “If I hear that you’ve even talked to my family . . .” as he picks up a charging cable, which could easily be repurposed to strangle Kyle.
"Whatever the scam, you can stop it now'
“So we have a deal? There’s always a good reason when a business owner wants to stay under the radar. So whatever scam you and Eleri are running, you can stop it – now!”
"Yoi have no idea how wrong you are"
“We haven’t got any kind of scam going on – and you have no idea how wrong you are about everything,” Garry remarks,
He smiles enigmatically . . .
then he smiles and leaves the flat.
. . . but Kyle is not smiling
Kyle remains stony-faced.
"What's so special about this place?"
Howard gets out of the tractor and Dorian asks him, “Why Penrhewl? What’s so special about this place?”
"The only place I've felt I belong"
He replies that it is the only place he has ever felt that he belongs.
Dorian can understand that, considering everything he has been through; “Do you think you’re ready to take over A lot has changed in farming recently.”
"If you don't want help me . . ."
Howard is well aware of that, pointing out that he has not been working in an office these last few years; “If you don’t want to help me, you may as well just go!”
"More histrionics than with the missus!"
“All right – there’s more histrionics with you than with the missus!” protests Dorian, as Howard appreciates that he works hard. “That’s what Mags always says – she still hasn’t forgiven me.” Howard advises that it might be a good idea not to mention that business in front of Sioned and Mathew.
"What's that building?"
Dorian asks what is that building over there, then while Howard’s attention is distracted,
Howard gets some manure . . .
sticks a handful of manure
. . . down the back of his shirt
down the back of his shirt.
"You deserve that!"
“You deserve it for speaking to me as if I’m stupid!” Now Howard is even more convinced that there is something wrong with him.
"I've solved the problem . . ."
Mark hurries across the road to where Siôn is picking up litter and believes that he has solved the problem of the young people.
". . . games from charity shops"
“I’ve bought games from charity shops, like ‘Operation’ and ‘Cluedo’, the games we played as kids – Britt is going to section off an area in MFC, so they can play the games as they eat.”
Siôn did not know that young people liked that kind of thing, but is told that they are making a comeback; “Pushing back against technology, probably.”
"And I've applied for a grant"
As Mark walks away, he advises Siôn that he has applied for a grant to get some money to establish a youth club.
"That's great, Mark!"
Siôn is greatly impressed and thanks him.
"I'm going to the Cash and Carry"
Eileen walks into the shop, commenting that she is going to the cash and carry now. Lleucu wants to ask her something;
The new-look Lleucu
“Is there any chance of some more shifts? I've finished my exams now and I could do with the money.’
Eileen is sure that can be arranged with Colin away;
"Are you wearing more make-up?"
“I’m not being rude, but are you wearing more make-up than usual?”
"I'm trying a new look"
Lleucu replies that she is trying a new look, but Eileen considers that she is much prettier without it,
"It's not appropriate for the shop"
“And, to be honest, it’s not appropriate for the village shop – I hope you don’t mind me saying.”
Lleucu looks in her mirror
As a result of this, Lleucu looks critically at herself in the mirror.
Kyle appears in the doorway
Eleri is working at Brynawelon when she sees Kyle standing in the doorway; “What are you up to? You and the lodger?”
"It's over, like you wanted"
She answers that it is over, just like he wanted. “But you’re in love with him – you want a divorce.”
"And you'\re refusing to give me one"
Eleri is quick to close the door, in case someone hears; “And you’re refusing to give me one – and Garry doesn’t want the complication.”
"We're flying back this time next week"
Her informs her that they are flying back to New York this time next week;
"And I have no say in the matter?"
“And I have no say in the matter?” she demands.
“Of course you do – but while you decide, you need to remember.
"The evidence I have against you"
“The money laundering in New York – how much evidence I have against you – and the fact that I’m ready to use it.”
"You want me as some kind of prisoner"
“So you want me back in New York as some kind of prisoner,” she concludes, but he maintains that he deserves to have a wife again;
"That's the least you can give me"
“That’s the least you can give me.” With that, he leaves the office.
"You'll need a lot of money"
On the farm, Howard brings Dorian a cup of tea; “You’ll need a lot of money to make some of the changes you want – then there’s the paperwork.
"You're not in the genius category"
“And you’re not in the genius category when it comes to that.”
Howard replies that he is having help with that, from Cassie; “Sioned is helping me a lot, too.”
"At one time, were you and Sioned . . ?"
“Tell me, at one time were you and Sioned . . ? I’m winding you up – anyway, after seeing that Mathew, you would have no chance. He looks like a boy band member –
"You're more . . . brass band!"
“and you’re more . . . brass band! So you’re still a virgin, then?”
"You wouldn't believe it"
“I’m not, actually – and if you show the girl I slept with, you wouldn’t believe it, boasts Howard.”
“Why? Invisible, is she?” Howard maintains that if all Dorian is going to do is make fun of him he might as well go. “Of course I’m going to help you – I’m here, aren’t I?
"I can't leave until I meet this invisible woman"
“I can’t leave until I meet this invisible woman.”
Lleucu appears to be missing
An unknown boy is in the shop, but Lleucu is nowhere to be seen;
Eileen comes back . . .
just then Eileen returns and calls for Lleucu, but there is no reply,
. . . and serves him
so she serves him instead.
Lleucu has been hiding
We find that Lleucu is hiding in the storeroom and when he leaves, she comes out,
"Sorry – toilet"
with the excuse that she had to go to the toilet.
Eileen reprimands her
She is reprimanded for not locking the door and putting up the ‘Back in Five Minutes’ sign.
“If anything’s been stolen, it’s coming out of your wages!”
As soon as the boy reappears, Lleucu goes again
Now the boy has discovered that he left his jacket behind, so he comes back in and Lleucu rapidly disappears once more. Eileen looks puzzled.
Sh seems to have had a change of heart
Eleri walks into Cysgod y Glyn and says, “OK, Kyle, I’ll come back to New York with you. I’ve been thinking and I agree you deserve a chance after everything you’ve done for me.”
"When we're back together . . ."
That is exactly what he has been hoping for and predicts that when they are back together . . .
"Don't try to get revenge on Garry"
She wants him not to expect too much too soon, as she needs time. “And don’t try to get revenge on Garry – this time next week we’ll be on the plane and he’ll still be here – he’s not a threat.”
"All right"
Kyle agrees to this.
"Would you like to go away to London?"
Then she goes on, “I was also wondering whether you would like to go away this weekend? To London – if I’m going back to New York, I’ll need clothes. But I’ve got a couple of things to sort out first – we could get the seven o’clock train.”
"I'll pack a bag'
He will pack a bag,
She hopes this will work
but as soon as he is out of the room, her expression changes.
"Sorry it's only pizza"
At the farm, Sioned sorry that lunch is late and that it is only pizza. Dorian says that is he does not want much;
"I like my main meal at dinner time"
“I like my main meal at dinner time – meat, from the farm of course, my own vegetables and home-made pudding. That’s what the missus serves every day.”
"I wish I had a 'missus' to cook for me"
Sioned wishes that she had a ‘missus’ to cook for her every day; “Just don’t expect that sort of thing around here.”
"We'll make sure you don't starve"
Mathew promises that he will not starve – they will make sure of that.
"Turning up at that pizza no pants party"
Then Dorian mentions, “Turning up to that pizza no pants party years ago in just your pants? Of course you remember – Manon Giles’ birthday –
"You had a hell of a crush on her"
Howard begs him not to say any more, but Dorian ploughs on, “He turned up in his work shirt and just his pants – Y-fronts –and they weren’t the whitest ones I’ve ever seen –
"He put everyone off their pizza"
“he put everyone off their pizza. And Manon Giles’ face!”
"I'll go"
One of the twins cries upstairs, so Howard seizes the opportunity to get out of the room.
"Aren't you worried they'll think he's Dadi?
“Hey, aren’t you worried that they’ll think he’s Dadi and not you?”
"I'm not the twins' father"
Mathew makes it clear that he is not the twins’ father.
"Neither is Howard –made it's none of your business!"
Sioned stresses, “And neither is Howard! And it’s none of your business!”
That has shut him up for a minute
which temporarily silences Dorian.
Jinx has cut his finger
Eleri arrives at number 9 and finds that Jinx has cut his finger on a tin of Lobster Bisque.
"I have to go to London his weekend
“I just came over to say I have to go to London this weekend. I’ve just found out there’s a residential home conference on – and, as a manager, I have to keep up with the legal changes.”
"I'll come with you"
He proposes to go with her, but she points out that they have organised some meal in the hotel and activities around the clock.
"Why do you have to rush off?"
She is going tonight, so he wonders why she has to rush off now. She maintains that she has a lot to do and everything is so last minute. Jinx get the impression that there is something wrong;
"Don't fee under pressure to movs in"
“Don’t feel under pressure to move in, if . . .”
She assures him that she does not feel under any pressure,
"You're the best thing that's ever happened to me"
declaring, “You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me. And I’m going to do everything to make sure we’re together.”
She kisses him
She kisses him and promises to ring when she gets a chance.
"Perhaps she has cystitis"
“I don’t know what was wrong with Lleucu – perhaps she has cystitis,” muses Eileen, “And she’s so pretty, she doesn’t need all that make-up. Siôn, I’m talking about your family here.”
"I've been thinking about Mark'
His mind is elsewhere; “I’ve been thinking about Mark – he’s doing so much work on my behalf.” Eileen hopes that he is not after Siôn’s job.
"It's not fair that I get all the credit"
“It’s just not fair that I get all the credit – Mark’s so humble.”
"You're the councillor, Siôn"
She points out that he is the councillor and the people of the village are praising him; “I intend to do something about it.”
"I need help to disappear"
Eleri goes to the MFC flat; “I need help – help to disappear!”
"How did Kyle know about me and Brynawelon?"'
Garry demands how Kyle knows about him and Brynawelon. Eleri replies that Kyle stole his phone. “How did he manage to open it?”
"He knows how to do a lot of things'
“He knows how to do a lot of things – that’s why I need fake documents, so he can’t follow me.
"I think you know how to make it happen"
“I think you know how to make it happen – we don’t have much time – Kyle’s booked tickets back to New York for next week I need passports for Huw and me – and a driving licence. Can you do that by Friday? Whatever it costs, I’ll pay.”
"And you honestly don't see any other way?"
“And you honestly don’t see any other way?” asks Garry.
"I know him well enough"
“I know him well enough – I know he’s serious.”
"What about Jinx?"
Garry agrees to have a word with, “This bloke I know – I’ll let you know. What about Jinx?”
"I haven't told him yet"
"What if he doesn't want to go?"
“What if he doesn’t want to go?”
"He has no choice"
She considers that he has no choice and warns Garry not to let her down.
