| Liv has had a bad night . . . |
Liv is standing in the kitchen of her flat, dozing, when Cai comes in; she reports, “He woke up every half hour!”

Cai is well aware of that,

| "I should never have let you give him that bottle" |
as she goes on, “I knew I should never have let you give him the bottle – it obviously confused his little stomach.”
Cai points out that he was trying to help and she complains that she still cannot find that teddy.

| "Perhaps there's something wrong with him": |
“Perhaps there’s something else wrong with him,” he suggests, so she imagines that he does not like the basket, which Cai agrees may be the case.

| "I'll buy a new basket today" |

| "I need every penny, sorry" |
“I need every penny, sorry.”
Then she proposes taking him to the doctor’s for a checkup;

| "Will you come with me?" |
“Will you come with me?” He replies that he is working and that she can do this on her own;

| "You're stronger than you think" |
she is stronger than she thinks.

| Rhys works on the laptop |
In the brewery, Rhys is tapping away at the laptop,

| Ieuan is siting nearby |
while Ieuan is sitting nearby with a gloomy expression.

| "Why don't you go over there?" |
“Why don’t you go over there?” Rhys suggests. Ieuan replies that he has tried that,

| "Kelly wouldn't answer the door" |
but Kelly would not answer the door.
“You haven’t seen Anita since Kelly kicked you out?” he is asked. Ieuan just wants to know that she is all right. Rhys has not seen Kelly either, he did not get home until late last night,

| "I'm sure Anita's all right" |
but maintains that he is sure Anita is all right, stressing that Kelly is looking after her.
“Yeah, but I know just how much work it is on your own,” groans Ieuan,

| "Changes confuse her" |
“Anita won’t understand what’s going on – changes confuse her. I don’t want her to think that I’ve left her –

| "Could you go over and explain?" |
“could you go over? Explain that the whole thing is just a misunderstanding and that I was just thinking of Anita?”

| "You know what Kelly's like when she's angry" |
“She won’t listen – you know what she’s like when she’s angry,” says Rhys, then,

as Ieuan sadly gets up to leave, he adds, “I’ll try, all right, Uncle Ie?”

| "I wasn't expecting to see you" |
As he goes, Jinx comes in and was not expecting to see Rhys there; “I own the place,” is the reply.

| "I'm only back for today" |
Jinx explains that Hywel said he was away, but Rhys is only back for today, then will be going back to Bristol for another festival.

| "I've got a deal with Kelly . . ." |
Jinx has some leaflets in his hand, which he would like to leave on the bar to advertise The Pizza Place, but Rhys reminds him that he has a deal with Kelly

and does not believe that she would be happy if he promoted another food business.

| "You don't want to get on the wring side of Kelly?" |
“Oh – you don’t want to get on the wrong side of Kelly?” sighs Jinx and walks out.

| Anita is eating some fruit |
At number 7, Anita is attempting to eat some fruit, while Kelly is on the phone;

| "I'm totally desperate . . ." |
“I know she’s not supposed to be there today, OK, but please, Eleri, I’m totally desperate!

| ". . . I really need this job, like . . ." |
“I’m supposed to cater for a party and I really need this job, like.” She obviously does not get a favourable reply;

| ". . . thanks for nothing!" |
“There we are, then – thanks for nothing!”

| Iolo looks at the soft toy |
Iolo is looking at the soft toy which he put in his pocket when there is a knock at the door of Y Felin and Cai comes in.

| "I haven't got time to argue with you" |
“Cai, I don’t have time to argue with you this morning so just . . .”
Cai is there to speak to Lleucu; however, he is told that she is at school. Her father was under the impression she had a free lesson this morning.

| "She doesn't want to talk to you" |
“She’s made it pretty clear that she doesn’t want to talk to you,” Iolo replies.

| "I just want a chance to explain" |
Cai stresses that he is trying his best and just wants a chance to explain; “Explain that you put Liv before everyone else?”

| "She can't avoid me for ever!" |
Cai will be back to see her after school, as she cannot avoid him for ever.

Then Iolo asks how Tyler is.

| "You know his name is Gwydion" |
“You know his name is Gwydion – the flat is in Llanarthur, by the park. He’s OK and growing –

| "Liv has lost his new teddy" |
“but he’d be much better if Liv hadn’t lost his new teddy – it’s the only thing that settles him – it plays white noise – he had a terrible night without it. But, like everything else, a new one costs a fortune.”

| Iolo know exactly where it is |
Iolo by this time is looking very guilty.

| Liv looks out at the rain |
The scene shifts to Liv’s flat, as, with Gwydion crying in the background, she looks out through the front door, covered in raindrops, very depressed.

| "Rhys refused to have them on the bar" |
Jinx goes to Hywel, complaining that Rhys refused to have the leaflets on the bar; “Have you told him about the ‘Pizza and a Pint’ evening?

| "He's got a deal with Kelly, apparently" |
“He’s got a deal with Kelly, apparently!”
Hywel maintains that it is nothing official;

| "A pizza shop makes more sense" |
“It makes more sense to nurture a relationship with a pizza shop than someone who sells sandwiches.

| "Wraps, actually" |
Jinx corrects him that it is wraps, actually.

| "It's not open half the time" |
“Yes, but is that what people want to eat after drinking beer?” Hywel demands, “And it’s not open half the time.”
Jinx does not want to step on anyone’s toes, especially Kelly’s. Hywel is adamant that Rhys is being too sentimental; “If she can’t provide food, we have to find someone who can.

“ You didn’t say anything about the paintings, did you?”

| "So you haven't told him about that, either?" |
Jinx replies that he did not, “Because I got the vibe you haven’t had a chance to tell him about that, either.”

| "I'll come over this afternoon" |
Hywel will come over and choose some paintings this afternoon; he is told to bring Rhys with him, but maintains that Rhys is going away again today.

| "Why don't you just include him?" |
“Why don’t you just include him in all this?” demands Jinx and Hywel answers that he has enough on his plate with all these festivals. He is convinced that Rhys will thank them in the end – which does not seem very likely.

| Kelly has been to the pharmacy |
Kelly has slipped across the road to the pharmacy and on her way back, she meets Rhys;

| "Are you all right" |
“I haven’t seen you for ages – are you all right?” He says that he has been away a with work-related stuff

| "You've got a lot on at the moment" |
and understands that she has a lot on at the moment.

| "Just having one of those days" |
She insists that she is OK but is just having one of those days; “And now I have to tell someone they won’t have a buffet at their party. I was supposed to cater for a party and now I have to cancel. I was banking on the booking because, you know, I haven’t opened in weeks. I’m looking after Auntie Neet.”

Rhys asks her, “Why don’t you ask Griffiths? He really misses her,”

| Kelly is about to walk away |
but she immediately dismisses the idea.

| "I'll do it for you" |
Then he volunteers, “I’ll do it for you, then – I’m not an expert in buffets, but I can look after Anita – I nursed my Gran for years. I’m sure she’ll be fine for a couple of hours.

“and you can’t afford to cancel.”

| "Can you come over now?" |
This takes a great weight off Kelly’s mind and he agrees that he will come over now.

| It is all getting too much for Liv |
Liv is becoming more and more distraught, as the loud music is doing nothing to placate Gwydion; in fact it may be making matters worse.

| My wife said, "Pick him up and give him a cuddle!" |
She is at the end of her tether, doing her best to assure him that everything is OK and begging him to stop crying.

| Liv does not know what to do . . . |
and she is by now reaching a state of panic;

she turns and screams at him, “Please, just shut up for a minute!”

then sinks to the floor in desperation.

“Hi – it’s Liv,” she says.

| "Why are we here?" |
Rhys and Anita now sitting on a breezy cliff top overlooking the sea; she asks, “Why are we here?” and he explains that they have come for a walk, remarking that it is lovely there. The sea breeze will do them good.

| Rhys has planned a rendezvous |
Nearby, a second car arrives in the car park and Ieuan gets out;

he approaches them and is grateful to Rhys.

| "There are pictures of him in the house" |
He speaks Anita’s name and she turns around; “There are pictures of him in the house,” she says.

He explains to her, “I’m Ieuan – your Ieuan.” She nods her head,

| Rhys will leave them in peace |
so Rhys will leave them in peace.

At Y Felin, Greta and Iolo are building a toy house, which he considers is big enough for them now, but she does not agree.

He points to one of the rooms, asking whose it is; “Mam’s,” he is told.

| Cai come in |
There is a knock at the door and Cai is back,

| "Uncle Cai!" |
being warmly greeted by Greta, “Uncle Cai!”

| She demonstrates her rippling muscles |
At his prompting she shows him her muscles,

| "Right, upstairs now" |
but Iolo seems inordinately eager for her to go upstairs,

| "But Dad . . ." |
despite her protestations.

| "Lleucu's not interested" |
Iolo informs Cai, “I told Lleucu you were coming over and she wanted me to tell you again that she’s not interested.”

| "I was doing what I thought was best" |
Cai is aware how this looks, but insists that Iolo has to believe him; he was doing what he thought was best.

| "Best for who?" |
“Best for who?”

| "She would never let you raise him" |
“Best for everyone – Liv was having cold feet – she would never let you raise him.”

| "I could have done things officially" |
Iolo stresses that if he had more time, he could have done things officially.

| But she's his mother!" |
“But she’s his mother!” growls Cai, “How would you have explained to Gwydion that you stopped his mother from seeing him?
“I don’t want to argue, so we have to find a way to get over this – Liv is part of your life, no matter what you think of her. And what about Greta? Is she never going to see her mother again?”

Iolo simply does not want to discuss the matter, so instructs Kai to go.

Jinx has brought over some pictures to number 21, where Hywel studies one of them

and asks, “Where exactly is this?” Jinx replies that it is Llansteffan Castle [NW of Kidwelly]; “Well, you’ve done the beach pink.”

Jinx seems offended; “It’s an abstract painting, Hywel! Do you know anything about art?” Whether he does or not, he definitely likes that one. “If you like it, you like it – no need to be deep or sophisticated,” Jinx tells him.

Hywel is confident that picture will sell in no time; “Bring them over to Ceffyl Du later.”

Jinx assumes that means after Rhys has gone,

then he is asked for another favour.

| Rhys waits some distance away |
Rhys is waiting by the car, while Anita and Ieuan are looking out across the water;

she tells him, “I want to plant pink roses.”

| "Like the ones we saw in Saundersfoot?" |
He remarks that they would be like the ones they saw in Saundersfoot last summer, which were the same colour as her dress.

She said at the time that he ought to buy a tie the same colour, but she does not appear to remember that.

“I like being with you,” she continues and he says that he also likes it.

Rhys returns and thinks that is time that they should go. Ieuan does not want Anita to get too tired.

“I know I’m not around very much at the moment, but I want you to know that you’re on my mind day and night – I’m always here for you.” Anita nods her head.

Suddenly, Anita turns round and exclaims, “We had chips that in Saundersfoot that day,”

which Ieuan find rather emotional.

Now Jinx and Hywel are carrying cases of alcohol into number 21; “Do we have to keep them here? Let me guess – until Rhys leaves?

“And you haven’t told him that you’re going to sell wine and Prosecco in Ceffyl Du either?”

| "He will be delighted" — Yeah, right! |
“It will put money in his pocket – and he will be delighted,” insists Hywel. When Jinx demands why he did not ask Rhys first,

he answers, “Because I know Rhys – he wants the results before taking the risk.”

Jinx is not at all happy about this; “I don’t feel comfortable with all these secrets.”

Iolo comes downstairs, where he is informed by Greta, “I’ve finished Mam’s room – look!” Iolo is impressed, but suggests that Lleucu could have that room,

because they might not be seeing much of Mami Liv any more.

When she asks him why, he explains, “She’s busy with the new baby, isn’t she? She might not have time to come over.”

Greta is emphatic, “Don’t be silly, Dad!” so he changes the subject,

In the backyard of number 7, Kelly and Rhys sit down with a cup of coffee; “Do you know what? It was brill, actually. Everyone loved the food,” says Kelly and he is pleased to hear that.

“Thanks for being a lifesaver – and Auntie Neet seems to have really enjoyed herself – but not too much, I hope, or she’ll want you here every day.”

He jokes that she insisted on having his phone number, but he told her that he would come back to play cards, if that is all right with Kelly.

“I just want to help – I remember how difficult it is to look after someone you love. You look tired – I saw Griffiths.”

Kelly does not want to talk about that now;

“I’m sorry I haven’t had loads of time to see you recently.”

Rhys replies that it would be nice to go for a drink before long, giving them a chance to catch up, but only when she is ready.

“Yes, that would be lovely – I don’t know when, mind, with everything,” she sighs, but he says there is plenty of time, assuring her that she is not alone, as a lot of them want to help her.

“Thanks – it’s nice to have someone I can actually trust.”

This makes Rhys feel guilty, with the way he has gone behind her back only a few hours earlier.

Liv has now fallen asleep on the sofa and is oblivious to Gwydion’s crying;

He peers in and is concerned at what he sees, so immediately lets himself in through the door.

“The door was open, Liv,” he says,

| He deduces that she is drugged |
but when he sees the drug paraphernalia next to her, he is horrified;

| He looks at the baby . . . |
he looks at the baby, then at Liv.
