Ieuan comes along the street, gets out his keys and attempts to open the door of number 7, but finds that it is bolted.

He knocks on the door and says, “Kelly, please! We need to discuss this.”
Kath is watching from outside the Deri;

| Mark is off on an urgent mission . . . |
Mark comes out and his mother wants to know what is the rush. He simply maintains that he is late and will see her later.

Meanwhile, Ieuan is still begging Kelly to open the door, but he is unsuccessful.

| Garry is playing dominoes |
At Brynawelon, Garry is playing dominoes with Elfyn;

| "We'll need a gambling licence" |
Eleri jokes, “If you continue to fleece Elfyn, we’ll need a gambling licence.”
Garry explains that he is being taught all the tricks;

| Then his phone sounds |
Then his phone sounds and his expression changes

| He is reminded of his appointment |
as he reads the message, ‘Remember your hospital appointment.’

| He gets up to leave |
He is about to leave the room without another word,

| "We need to discuss a few things" |
but Eleri insists that she needs to discuss a few things with him. He simply replies, “E-mail me,” although she maintains that it would be easier to chat.

He again snarls, “Like I said, e-mail me!”

| "Sorry I'm late" |
Mark arrives at Penrhewl, apologising for his lateness,

| "I'm a bit behind as well" |
but Howard is also running behind schedule; “What if she’s gone?” Mark worries, but is assured that Bryn is holding her on the forecourt.” He confirms that he has the cash (an exceedingly quick payout by the insurance company).

“Listen, you do think I’m doing the right thing, do you? This is what Cheryl would want?”

| "She'd be delighted to go back to Vegas" |
Howard is sure that she would be delighted to be going back to Vegas and they leave the farmhouse.

At Brynawelon, Dai is enjoying his cup of tea and comments to Diane, “Do you hear that?” She wonders what he is talking about, so he explains, “There it is again – listen – silence!

“Pharaoh has gone back to his pyramid, then?”
She still looks puzzled, so he rephrases, “Griffiths has gone back to Anita’s house.”

Diane does not know what sort of welcome he will get;

now she has made Dai’s breakfast and he says that he is starving.
He wonders why she was up early this morning and she groans, that she is worried about Anita;

Dai agrees, “It’s a big responsibility, this power of eternity!”

She points out to him that it is ‘attorney’, not ‘eternity’,

so he moans, “It just feels like he eternity, the way you go on about it.”

She turns and snaps at him,” Well, sorry to bore you!

| "Hope you don't need power of attorney!" |
“You’d better hope you don’t need power of attorney, good boy!” Then she apologises for her outburst,

concluding, “This situation is a complete mess!”

| "You haven't given him a key?" |
They hear the front door bang and Dai is surprised that Griffiths has been given a key. From his expression, Diane can see that he has had no luck;

Ieuan confesses that she would not open the door again and he wonders what they are going to do. Diane maintains that Kelly will see sense in time.

“Listen, we will need a full assessment before initiating the power-of-attorney, won’t we?” he continues.

Dai hopes that Kelly calms down before then, but Ieuan is afraid that it is too late for that. “She can’t carry on like this –

Garry, holding his phone, approaches Eleri; “What’s this?” he demands.

She replies that it looks to her like a top of the range phone.

“The e-mail!” he snarls, “It says that our food supplier has gone bust – I assume we’ve got enough food for lunch today at least.”

She smiles that she was just trying to get his attention, so he warns her not to waste his time,

| He turns to leave |
He turns to leave the office and Eleri asks him what is wrong; “There is obvious something wrong –

“are you missing Jean Hughes, because she’s out with her family all day?”
He angrily replies, “It must be nice to think the whole world revolves around Brynawelon – well, it doesn’t!

Cassie takes their meals to a couple of customers, while Kath is looking at the laptop, working on a Spring menu;

They suddenly hear some noisy vehicle outside, which Kath finds disturbs her train of thought.

Cassie goes to investigate, then comes back, recommending that Kath had better come outside.

She is very surprised to see an ancient Volkswagen camper-van pulling up outside, with Mark in the driving seat;

points out that he has not used all the money.

Then Cassie describes it as a sardine tin, so he complains, “Don’t talk about Juliet like that!” His mother reminds him about Cheryl’s funeral, so he enlightens her that this is for Cheryl; “This will be her send-off.”

“She’s cancelled the carers and no one else has been allowed in since yesterday – I’m worried about her,” says Ieuan.

Dai informs Diane that he is speaking to the doctor.
Ieuan concludes the conversation, “Well, you’ve been very kind – great.

Dai assumes that the doctor will be doing the assessment,

Diane stresses this is not how Anita wanted it to be,

so Ieuan growls, “Tell that to Kelly!” Diane points out that she is doing what is right for Anita as well.

“But she’s not, is she?”Ieuan snarls, “Once this assessment is sorted, we can go straight over there and sort this nonsense out.”

Diane refuses to do that; “It’s too much responsibility – I can’t – you might as well cancel the assessment,

“because I’m planning to withdraw as power-of-attorney!” Ieuan is stunned.

Cassie is surprised at how clean the camper-van is inside,

while Mark volunteers to make them a cup of tea.
Howard comes out of the shop and shouts across the road, “Like it? Bryn said it’s top of the range.”

Kath realises that she should have known that Howard would be involved,

but Mark insists that it was his idea. His mother wants to know, “What has this got to do with Cheryl?”
He explains, “I’m going to scatter her ashes in this – I’m taking her to some of her favourite places – one last trip. And then end up in Vegas.”

Kath cannot believe that he is going to take this thing across the sea to Vegas,

He breaks the news that there is no funeral; “Just cremation – it’s today – it might be over by now. They said they would get in touch –

Garry is sitting on his bed at Brynawelon, looking very thoughtful when there is a knock at the door.

He regards that as rather harsh, but she assumes that he wants to balance the books and this month is tight.

Garry suggests that they could offer her a discount until the summer.

“Do you believe in karma?” he asks; Eleri wonders what he knows about Jean Custard Cream.

He continues, “Do you think we get what we deserve?” She replies if so, the two of them . . . but he stops her.

“I just think sometimes I’ve done a lot with my life, without achieving anything.”

Eleri recommends that if he wants to get all deep, she has a bottle of plonk she had to confiscate, maintaining that there are more ‘alkies’ in Brynawelon than in rehab.

“If we’re on a one-way ticket to what we deserve, we might as well enjoy ourselves,” she sighs, “Come on – the contraband is in the office.”

She makes sure to pick up the packet of biscuits as she leaves.

Howard is drinking his pint at the bar when Mark comes in and solemnly announces. “It’s over.”

Cassie wants to know, “Why didnt you tell us when it was happening, Mark?”

He replies that it was a direct cremation; there was no service, no fuss, no nonsense.

| "With no-one to say goodbye?" |
“On her own, with no one to say goodbye?” Cassie ges on.

Mark reminds her that everyone had a chance to say goodbye at the vigil, but she does not agree that it is the same. She would have liked to have said goodbye in a respectful way.

Mark maintains, “None of us deserved to be there,” but she cannot agree with that, stressing that she had said many times that she was worried about where Cheryl was and was worried that Tom was evil, but no-one listened to her.
“But now you’re siding with Gaynor – the sister who helped to kill her!” he argues.

“Anita knew that Kelly and I were too close, too emotional to see clearly – and that is why she chose you. Once again, it looks as though Anita is always right.

Three of them open their cans; “To Cheryl!” says Mark, but Cassie objects to this.
