"Let's sit down and listen" |
“Let’s sit down and listen,” Mark suggests, but she will have none of that;

continues, “I wanted to discuss this business with Gwern – we don’t want you to think that he’s more important to us than you. It was never a matter of choosing between you – so just know that we want you here as long as you want to be here.”
"Yes – they want me in the show!" |
She has been studying the phone and suddenly exclaims, “Yes!” and jumps up from the sofa, “They want me in the show – I got the part – ‘Under Milk Wood’ – I’d better learn my lines!”

She regards it as a shambles

"This has thrown me as well" |
“But to be honest, this has thrown me as well – especially after the last time I saw her – but I don’t want go into it.”

"I need some time to myself" |
“so I would like some time to myself to think things through. I’ll get my stuff from upstairs and I’ll be in touch soon.”
However, before he leaves the room, he adds, “Just to make one thing totally clear,

“He says that he understands and explained how his relationship with Cheryl was toxic. But he said she left him half dead after hitting him over the head with a wine bottle.”
"It's true – Cheryl told me" |
Mark of course already knows this; “It’s true – Cheryl told me everything, months ago – it was self defence.”
