"Your post, Dani"

Dani is working in the Deri flat when Mark comes in with the post;  “I have to keep busy or, well . . .

"I'm not OK"

“I’m not OK,” she says, and he asks how Gwern is.   “Getting better – I’ve just come from the hospital now,” she replies.

"Has something happened?"

He was worried that she was stressed because something has happened;  “Well, something has, but not relating to Gwern.

"Garry will be gone for a long time"

“Garry’s plea hearing is in a month’s time – he’s going to plead guilty, so he’ll be gone for a long time.   I’m getting rid of his stuff.”

"Do you want me to help you?"

Mark offers to take a break and give her some assistance, but she insists that she has to do it on her own,

"Oh, Gabriel, not again!"

and then we hear Gabriel crying.   Mark wanted to discuss something with her, but she tells him to wait a minute until she puts the baby down for a nap.

Jason appears to be short of the 'readies'

Jason is looking at the few remaining notes in his wallet when Kelly comes downstairs, informing him that the holiday company has answered;  he wonders how much they will be getting.

Kelly has disappointing news

“We regret to inform you – blah, blah, blah – nothing!” she snarls,

"The holiday was truly awful!"

“This is ridiculous, Jase – the holiday was truly awful!”

"We'll have another one"

Jason tells her to forget about it and they will have another holiday;  “With what money?” she demands, as she puts on her jacket.   He asks where she is going,

"I'm going to help Jinx"

and she says she is going to help Jinx with the pizzas;  she will not be back until tonight.

Adios, señorita"

Jason looks deflated.

"He's asleep now"

Gabriel is now asleep, so they can get some peace;  Dani remarks, “This is the worst part of the day from me –

"I feel like I'm completely alone"

“I feel like I’m completely alone.   Just me and my thoughts.”

Mark appreciates how she feels

Mark knows what she means, as he feels similarly, especially at night.

"You can pop over, you know"

“You can pop over, you know,” she reminds him, “But I don’t think I’m a lot company.”

Then Mark gets to what he wanted to say:  “I know you’ve got a lot on your plate, but number 7 –

"I'm struggling to pay the rent on my own"

“well, I’m struggling to pay the bills and rent on my own.”

"You could pay next month's later"

Dani suggests that he could pay next month’s rent later,

"I need to find someone else to move in"

but he says that he needs to find someone else to move in – either that or he will have to move out – unless, of course, she can drop the price.

"That's the only money I have coming in"

“I would, but that’s the only money I have coming in,” she explains.

“So can I advertise for someone else?” he asks, and she is agreeable to that.   “The thing is, Tyler’s stuff is still there.”

"I'll sort out Garry's things first"

She wants to sort out Garry’s things first, and then that she will come to number 7 and deal with Tyler’s belongings.   Mark apologises for asking, and thanks her;  “I still can’t believe he’s gone,” she groans, “It doesn’t feel real, you know – apart from the children, I don’t have anyone left.”

"I'm here for you, Dani"

“I’m here for you,” Mark assures her.

Britt arrives at Penrhewl

Sioned has called Britt over to the farmhouse and appreciates that she has a lot on;

"Colin has gone to see Gwern"

Britt says that Colin has gone to see Gwern, who needs to get stronger, but is all right.   She has been doing her homework and has brought a box of cupcakes;

"You're a star, Britt!"

Sioned describes her as a star.

“What else needs doing?   I’ve got a couple of hours before I need to go to MFC,” Britt asks.

"I'm picking up Mam later"

Sioned reports that she will be picking up her mother from the hospital and wants to make sure that everything is straight there – and that there is room for the wheelchair.   Eileen is on crutches as well, but the doctor said the chair will help.

"I've prepared a list for you"

Sioned has prepared a list of things to do for Britt,

Britt is not impressed

and she looks at this with some dismay.

Kelly arrives at 'The Pizza Place'

In the kitchen of ‘The Pizza Place’, Jinx is working when Kelly comes in through the door.

"Kelly, smile, will you?"

“Kelly, smile, will you?   You’re going to be customer-facing,” he urges.

"They won't give us a single penny!"

She does not seem to be in the mood for smiling, explaining that she has just had an e-mail from the honeymoon company;  “They won’t give us a single penny!   I know it’s not important when you think about everything else that’s happened recently.”

"You have a right to be disappointed"

He agrees that she has right to be disappointed,

"What's my first task, then?"

and she wants to be allocated her first task, which is folding boxes.

"You'll have another chance to go on holiday"

She is given instructions and is told to forget about the honeymoon;  “You’ll have another chance to go on holiday.”

"It was going to be the perfect romantic getaway"

“I know – I just built it up to be a perfect romantic getaway,” she sighs

Jinx instructs on box-folding . . .

and he indicates that she has to fold in the corner tabs;

. . . and things seem to be getting amorous again

they look at each other, with thoughts of what might have been.

Mark is back at number 7

Mark is back at number 7 and throws his jacket down on the stairs;

He takes the weight off his feet . . .

he sits down for a rest and takes off his boots –

. . . and discovers a holed sock

in the process noticing that he has a hole in one of his socks.   “Oh, great!” he mutters.

They are preparing for Kelly's return

At Bryntirion, Ifan is having a painting session and Jason admires his handiwork;

"Do you think Kelly will like it?"

“Do you think Kelly will like it?” he asks, “Right, are we almost ready – we’ve got music, we’ve got costumes, we’ve got food – and now the sun!

"We have to say 'Hola, Kelly!"

“When Kelly comes, we have to say ‘Hola, Kelly’!   All we have to do now is clear up.”

Jason ends up with a splodge of paint on his T-shirt . . .

Unfortunately, as he leans over the table, he gets a large blob of red paint on his T-shirt

. . . and goes to clean it off

and rushes over to the sink.

"The most popular are ham, pepperoni and mushrooms"

Kelly is regretting her decision to help with the pizzas;  “Right, the most popular orders are ham, pepperoni and mushrooms, so it would make sense to prepare those ingredients first,” Jinx says.

Kelly’s attention, however, appears to be far away, as he concludes that she will have to chop the mushrooms, for obvious reasons, and he will answer the phone.

"Jinx, I can't do this"

“Jinx – I can’t do this,” she tells him, and he is sure that she is capable of chopping mushrooms.

"I'm a newly-married woman"

“Not that – this – working here.     I’m a newly-married woman.”

"We can control ourselves"

His reply is, “And we’re adults who can control themselves,” but Kelly protests that she does not want to.

"You don't want to control yourself?"

“You don’t want to control yourself?” he smirks.

"Jinx, it isn't funny!"

She rages, “Jinx, it isn’t funny!   I’m really sorry –

"I'd better get back to my family"

“I’d better get back to my family.”   She hurries out of the shop.

Eileen is back home

Sioned wheels her mother into the farmhouse where she is greeted by Britt;

"Put me by the table, Sioned"

“I’m happy to be home,” says Eileen, and wants the wheelchair to be positioned by the table, so that she can help Britt.

A chair is moved to make way, but then it is discovered that the table is the wrong height,

However that does not work . . .

so she is taken to the sofa instead.

. . . and Sioned is getting tired of this already

“It’s probably best to rest until you get your strength back,” says Sioned.

Eileen is grumbling as usual

On the way Eileen notices the cupcakes and grumbles, “I’d be happy if some people did their jobs properly.   Those cupcakes – the icing is the wrong colour and none of them are straight!”

"Welcome home, Mary Berry!"

“Welcome home, Mary Berry!” comments Britt.

Mark walks into Apêl Maenan and asks Megan if she has any socks;

Megan finds a replacement pair of socks

she looks under the counter and finds him a pair.   “I want a few other things to be honest, but I’ve only got £20,” he says.

Dani arrives, carrying two bags

Then Dani also arrives with two large black sacks, full of Garry’s clothes,

"There might be something suitable in there"

which Mark imagines might be suitable for him.   As they look through the clothes in the bags,

Megan insists that there is a procedure to follow

Megan suggests that she will price them, and he can pick them up tomorrow afternoon.

"Why can't I take them now?"

“Why can’t I take them now?” Mark wants to know,

"There is a specific process"

and is informed that there is a specific process when people bring clothes in.   He finds a fleece which he judges to be suitable.

“I make a note of everything, put on a price tag and so on,” she explains,

"Look, I'm helping you out here, Megan"

but Mark points out that he is helping her there, and Dani adds that, technically, she has not given Megan anything yet.

"I run a charity here"

When Megan protests that she runs a charity,

"Charity begins at home, Megan"

Dani reminds her, “Charity begins at home, Megan” and leaves the shop.

"We may have to get a new table"

At Penrhewl, Sioned tells DJ, “If this isn’t acceptable, we’ll have to get a new table.”   He reminds her that this is only temporary,

"I don't want her to feel awkward here"

Sioned goes on, “I don’t want her to feel awkward in her own home.   She was trying to hide it, but I could see she was upset earlier.”

"That's only to be expected"

DJ maintains that is only to be expected;  “I knew that she wouldn’t be able to help around the farm,

"I was hoping that she'd be able to do some cooking"

“but I was hoping she could sit at the table and do some cooking or something,” moans Sioned, “It’s not safe if she can’t reach anything.”

"We can manage for a few weeks "

DJ is sure that they can manage it for a few weeks, and Sioned laughs that they do not have any choice.

"Some good might come out of this"

“There we are, some good might come out of this – you do believe in Karma, don’t you?”

He puzzles over her enigmatic remark

He wonders exactly what she means by that.

Megan has rarely had this many customers

Megan has yet another customer in the form of Jason, who is with Ifan;

"I was just about to close"

she is about to close the shop, but Jason explains that they will only be two minutes.   He is looking for a shirt or T-shirt, as it is an emergency;

"It's a long story, Megan"

“It’s a long story, Megan – everything I had is stuck in a case somewhere.   We’re looking for something summery, that will make me look like I’m in Spain.

Megan comes up with the ideal T-shirt . . .

Megan has just the thing, which Jason thinks is perfect;

. . . and Ifan thinks it is great

“Thank you very much, Megan!”

Kell rejects a phone call

A car is driving away along the High Street as Kelly is approaching MFC;  her phone sounds but she rejects the call.   She meets Mark and initially walks straight past him.   “Who are you avoiding, then?” he asks.

"My boss wants me to write an article"

“My boss – he wants me to write an article about everything that happened,” she answers with distaste.

"Work is the only thing keeping me going"

Mark agrees that work is the only thing keeping him going, and suspects that all is not well with Kelly.

"Before going back to the madhouse"

“I’m just going for a walk to clear my head, before going back to the madhouse,” she says, and he recalls that Maes-y-Deri used to be like that;

"I never thought I would miss Maes-y-Deri!"

he never thought that he would miss it.

"Any time you want a chat, Mark"

“Any time you want a chat, Kelly assures him.

"Will Gwern want ham and mushroom on his pizza?"

Dani asks the children, “Will Gwern want ham and mushroom on his pizza?   I haven’t got any pineapple.”

Britt arrives

Britt comes into the flat,

"I thought you were with Gwern"

and Dani thought that she was in the hospital with Gwern.

"Colin's been told not to say a word"

explains that she has delegated that to Colin, who has been instructed not to say a word about his parents.

Dani wants to get rid of Garry's stuff

“Well, I’m glad you’re here – I don’t want Garry’s stuff here any longer,” says Dani, and Britt sighs that everything is changing.   “I’m just getting organised,” Dani continues.

“That’s why I’m here, to be honest – do you all know what you’re going to do when Gwern comes home?” asks Britt, “Are you going to stay here?”

"This is the children's home"

Dani points out that this is the children’s home.

“I’m not kicking you out or anything like that – but I’ve been getting organised as well,

"Garry's legal costs are going to be a lot"

“and Garry’s legal costs are going to be a lot,” Britt says.   Dani imagines that it will not be a big court case;  “You’d be surprised – it means we have to find ways to raise a bit more money.”

"So Garry wants me to pay rent"

“Garry wants me to pay rent,” deduces Dani, and Britt is anxious that they do not fall out over this.   She is sorry that she even has to ask, but has no choice.

"I'll go and look at the accounts"

“I’ll go back and look at the accounts to see how much we’ll have to charge, OK?” Britt tells her as she leaves.

"Se how many toys you can fit into this bag

As Seren is colouring and Gabriel is looking quietly at a book, Dani suggests, “Go and see how many toys you can fit in this bag – it’s a race.   I’ll do the same with the washing.”

Seren starts immediately

Seren enthusiastically sets off to complete her challenge.

The Spanish meal awaits . . .

At Bryntirion, with the table all prepared, Jason and Ifan get back and must get changed before Kelly comes home,

. . . but Kelly is already home

but they discover that Kelly has already arrived.   “I love what you’ve done!

"Did you do this, Ifan?"

“Did you do this, Ifan?”

“Sorry about the honeymoon and that we can’t afford to go away again,” begins Jason,

"Olé!"

“So I’ve decided to bring Spain to Cwmderi!  Olé!”

"You're a big softie!"

Kelly laughs, “That’s why I love you – you’re a big softie!

Kelly has a surprise for them . . .

“And . . .”

. . . the luggage has found its way to Cwmderi

She produces the cases, which have returned home.   Jason says that means tonight can be even more special –

"Ifan can have his present"

because Ifan can have his present.

Dani arrives at Mark's door . . .

Mark is surprised to see Dani, complete with Seren and Gabriel, on the doorstep of number 7.   “Are you OK?” she asks,

. . . and has found the solution

“I’ve got a solution to all our problems – me and the kids.   We’re moving in with you!”

Mark has a puzzled look on his face

Mark is delighted

which then changes to a smile.

Eileen lies on the sofa

Eileen is reclining on the sofa and Sioned tells her that tea is almost ready;  “We’ve rearranged the chairs so that you can sit here in your wheelchair if you want to.

"There's no rush to start cooking again"

“And there’s no rush to start cooking again – not until you can move a bit better.   But I thought, if you fancied doing some work tomorrow,

"You could help with the paperwork"

“you could help with the Cae Glas paperwork – you said you fancied doing some work.”

"Why are you pushing me, then?"

“Why are you pushing me, then?” Eileen moans,

"You just want to escape to Ireland"

“You just want to escape to Ireland as soon as possible and forget about me.”

"DJ has turned the job down"

Sioned announces that DJ has turned the job down, and they will be staying until she is better at least.

“I thought we could discuss what you said before the wedding,” Sioned continues;

"What did I say?"

her mother cannot remember what she said.

"That DJ and I could inherit the farm"

“That DJ and I could inherit Penrhewl if we stayed here to work.”

"You're taking advantage!"

As DJ walks into the room, Eileen snarls, “You’ve seen your chance and you’re taking advantage!”

DJ wants to know what is going on, and Eileen insists, “Why would I promise you the farm?”

"Why am I finding out about this now?"

He demands why this is the first time he is hearing about this.

"Because it's not true – that's why"

“Because it’s not true – that’s why,” Eileen growls.

“Don’t deny it, Mam – or did you just say that to make us stay?” Sioned demands.

"I don't remember saying that!"

Eileen replies that she does not remember saying it,

Eileen leaves the room

picks up her crutches and heads upstairs, despite Sioned pointing out that tea is ready.

"You wouldn't lie just to keep me here, would you?"

“You wouldn’t lie just to keep me here, would you?” DJ enquires,

"Of course I wouldn't!"

and Sioned says that of course she would not;  she simply wanted to discuss their options for when her mother is better.

DJ has serious doubts

He looks very suspicious.
