As Garry is walking past Cysgod y Glyn, engrossed in his phone, Arwen comes out of the door and he bumps into her. He tells her to look where she is going,

and she angrily snarls, “You look where you’re going!” He says that he has a job for her,

"I didn't think you'd trust me again" |
but she did not think that he would trust her again.

"I want you to persuade your friends" |
“Well, now’s chance to prove yourself to me,” he answers, “I want you to persuade your friends to have lunch at MFC.” She points out that they are not allowed to leave the school grounds, but he comments, “You don’t strike me as the type who worries about rules.”

"What's in it for me?" |
Arwen immediately demands, “What’s in it for me?” and she does not consider a free burger to be adequate, so he increases his offer to burger, fries, two sides and a drink for free.

"Perhaps – we'll see!" |
“Perhaps – we’ll see,” is her response, and she walks away.

Anita has some extravagant flowers |
At Bryntirion a large bunch of flowers is delivered for Anita, and Jason wishes her a happy birthday, but she enlightens him that it is actually St Dwynwen’s Day.
As he realises that he has forgotten all about that,

Kelly, sitting at the table, comments, “It’s OK – I know that you love me.” He apologises profusely and promises to make it up to her,

"I can't find a vase big enough" |
while Anita boasts that she cannot find a vase big enough for the flowers.
Jason has an awkward question for Kelly; “Do you think you could pick Ifan up from Jinx’s club tonight?”

"Sorry Jase – deadline!" |
She regrets that she must refuse, as she has a deadline to meet, and when he says it will only take two minutes, tells him to do it.

"It doesn't make sense, Kelly" |
“It doesn’t make sense for me to drive back from Llanarthur when you’re five minutes down the road,” he protests, and they agree a compromise that he will pick up Ifan, while Kelly will do the bath and bed.

As Jason leaves for work, she sadly mutters to herself, “Happy St Dwynwen’s Day.”

"Greta – we'll be late!" |
Siôn is eating his breakfast as Iolo tells Greta to bring her colouring book with her, “And hurry, or we’ll be late.”

"I thought I was taking her to nursery" |
Siôn was under the impression that he was taking her to nursery, but Iolo wants to do it, regarding it as an excuse to leave the house and has also arranged a meeting after dropping her off.

“I’m discussing a bit of work at Llanarthur Leisure Centre today.”
Siôn is glad to see his son going out into the real world again; Iolo says , “It has put a lot of things into perspective after talking to Cai last night – we had a couple of cans and put the world to rights.”

After last night’s drinking, Cai is at Cysgod y Glyn, feeling the effects;

Ffion comments, “Oh, you’ve arrived! You’re only twelve hours late!

"The paracetamol is in the top cupboard" |
“The paracetamol is in the top cupboard.” He tells her that he is not drinking, so she demands, “Why didn’t you come over last night? I tried to phone you,” she continues,

and he maintains that he fell asleep on the sofa.
“And no-one thought to wake you up?” she growls, and he rather unconvincingly says he is sorry.

He presents her with a bottle and wishes her, “Happy St Dwynwen’s Day! I’ve booked a table in that Spanish restaurant you like.”

She advises him to set an alarm this time, and looks at the bottle, as he explains that it is non-alcoholic and is supposed to be nice. She will get her shoes and then they can go to school,

Two school children are walking along the road and dropping litter outside Siôn’s shop;

he rushes out to remonstrate with them. “Pick those up and find a rubbish bin!” he shouts, but they take no notice.

Siôn however regards them as ‘swines’, pointing out that they are supposed to be in school, when he sees Arwen, carrying her ‘reward’.

She explains, “It’s part of my project – food and nutrition – it’s research.”

"And your mother will confirm that?" |
Siôn is sure that her mother will confirm that, but Arwen pleads with him not to tell her.

“And I’m going to make an official complaint to the council!” Siôn threatens;

Arwen moans to Garry about what he has done, and Garry replies that he did not force her to come there.

Cai explains that he is taking Ffion out to dinner tonight, but Iolo points out that is later, and he promises not to bore Cai.

Jason points out that he is not supposed to close for hours yet;

In the Deri, Cai has already polished off several glasses of alcohol, as Iolo relates what happened to him. “I only went there to fix a tap, and before I got my tools out, she tried to seduce me in the bathroom – seriously! I told her I didn’t fancy her, so she got offended and threw me out! I expect you would have loved her.”

Kelly is still sitting quietly when Jason comes in with his box of MFC; “Right, I’ve got a treat for dinner to say sorry for forgetting St Dwynwen’s Day,” he tells her.

She looks at him without saying anything, and he suspects that something is wrong, but she replies that she is fine. “I’ll put these in the oven, because I’m not ready to eat yet,” he continues, and she is again on the verge of tears.

When Cai returns from the toilet, Ffion announces that they are not going;

“Not from where I’m standing, you don’t,” she answers and he insists that even though he has only had one drink, she has to go on and on about it. She is going to phone him a taxi,

Ffion tells him to stop it now, and he demands, “What’s wrong? Don’t you fancy me any more? Come on – Vamos!”

In his inebriated lurch towards the door he knocks the bottle he gave her to the floor, where it smashes.

As they eat the fried chicken, Jason tells Kelly, “Fair play, that is nice,” but she is not devouring it like he is.

“I’m fed up with sleeping on the floor as well – but don’t worry, I’ve spoken to Mam – they are moving back to Australia, and we’ll get the house back to ourselves before long.”

Kelly seems to be experiencing smiles and tears at the same time, and gasps, “What a relief.” He promises that it will be just the two of them and Ifan – just like it was, just how they like it.
"And Auntie Neet – we can't have everything"
“And Auntie Neet, of course – but there we are, we can’t have everything.”

She thanks Jason and laughs, “Sorry – what a drama queen!” He appreciates that the lack of sleep does strange things to people, and thinks they should get down to eating their chicken.

Ffion does not know how she is going to get the blood out of that cushion, but Jinx knowledgeably informs her, “Bicarb – works every time!

“It’s a pity he’s not that easy to sort out.”
Ffion is still defending Cai, maintaining that it might be just a phase, and that he is under a lot of pressure.

“He’s got a mountain of schoolwork and he’s missing Twm and Leucu.”

Jinx considers in that case he needs to talk to someone instead of drinking, and she insists that he can talk to her.
“Sometimes it’s easier to talk to someone you don’t know – I’ve been there myself, thinking I can save people.”

She reminds him that he saved her, “But you slid backwards in the end, didn’t you?” he says,

"Try and persuade him to see a counsellor" |
“He needs help – he needs to sort his head out before things get worse. Try and persuade him to see a counsellor.”
Ffion knows very well that Cai would never entertain such an idea, but Jinx points out that there is no harm in trying; he will go and get a blanket for him.

Colin is fast asleep on the sofa when Britt returns home, apologising for her late arrival; “Does any train run on time these days?”

and Colin snoring away, and adds, “I love you, Colin Evans.”

and Ffion carefully removes his phone from his pocket.

Jinx asks what she is doing; he does not consider it is the time for selfies.
“That’s not what I’m doing – if I booked a counsellor for him, there’s no way he’d go,

"Do you think it will work?" |
Jinx doubts that the plan will work,

but Ffion stresses that neither of them can carry on like this.
