Sara can see where this conversation is going; “You want me out, don’t you? This is your mother’s house.” Jason makes it quite clear that he does not want that, and stresses that she is not going anywhere; this is her home.

Jason doubts whether there is any call for it these days, with people not having much spare cash.

As he is about to open the front door, he assures her, “I’ll always look after you and Ifan, no matter what happens – you know that.”

Kelly is hammering repeatedly on the door of number 7, shouting, “Iolo, I know you’re in there! Come on, open the door!”

Garry comes along the street and she asks him if Iolo is OK.

“How am I supposed to know?” he demands, and she points out that Garry lives with him, and any normal person would . . .

Then she gives up and resumes the battering on the door.

Inside, Iolo is watching the television and trying to ignore the noise, but finally, as the door sounds as if it is being broken down, and Kelly continues shouting, “I’m not leaving until you open the door!” he does open it, and demands to know what she wants.

She acknowledges that he is having a rough ride, but assures him that he is going to be fine,

and will rustle him up something to eat. He refuses the offer, insisting that he is fine.
Kelly now has to go and visit Sara, but will be back as soon as possible;

“In fact, I’m going to pop in every day from now on,” but Iolo insists there is no need. “I want to – because I’m here for you,” she stresses.

Then Jaclyn comes in with some news; “One of the supermarkets wants some Cae Glas samples – it’s that posh one in Tremyrddin – it’s early days, but it’s really exciting!”

Eileen would love to see Cae Glas produce in all the big shops, then her phone sounds, and she finds it is a message from John;

“He wants to come round to tell me more about the solar panels.” Jaclyn sarcastically remarks that he cannot do that over the phone.

Kelly arrives at Bryntirion and announces to Sara, “There’s no easy way of saying this, but you need to move out.” Sara replies that she has been told by Jason that she can stay there.

“Well, things have changed,” Kelly goes on, “Since Colin said we could squash in with them! You and Ifan can go to the flat – house swap. Siôn doesn’t want the flat for his writing just yet.”

Sara protests that it is full of boxes and refuses to consider the possibility. Kelly turns rather nasty, reminding her, “This is Jason’s home, not yours.”

He wonders what she is going on about, and she shrieks, “Kelly – hasn’t she told you? She said if I didn’t go quietly, she would phone Diane!”

Jason cannot believe this, and did not know anything about it; “I’ve sorted things out – I phoned Siôn,” she tells him, but he is adamant that she is not going anywhere.

Then she apologises to Seren that he is a bit shy, and asks if she would like a drink.

In the café flat, Jason finds that more boxes have been scattered around the place; he makes a start on moving some of them, and then Kelly arrives, commenting that Siôn has been busy again.

Kelly answers, “And I made it perfectly clear that I can’t live like this – I’m sorry I went behind your back, and I know Sara’s struggling – but I’ve lost my living too.

Jason points out it is not like that, but she shouts, “That’s exactly how it is!

“I’ve had it up to here – and you’re not there for me!” He insists that he is there, and he is sorry if he made her feel he does not care.

Of course he cares, and of course he wants her to be happy; “You’re right, we can’t carry on like this. Fine, we’ll go and live at Bryntirion – we’ll just have to live with Sara, that’s all.”

Kelly predicts that it will be a nightmare,

but Jason reminds her, “If we kick Sara and Ifan out, it makes us no better than Siôn!”

Kelly is starting to think that he actually wants to live with Sara, but he protests this is not anything to do with her, or him, or even Sara.

Jason explains as calmly as possible that he cannot risk letting Ifan down just to make Kelly happy, and he is sorry.
