A twin is sleeping peacefully

Sioned is tucking one of the babies in as she speaks to someone on the phone;  “You’ve had over a month already – I want it paid in full or I’ll have to send another one – with interest this time!   No, don’t put me on hold!”   

"Is everything all right?"

Siôn comes in, asking if everything is all right.

"What do you want?"

“What do you want?   I don’t want your help,” she snarls at him, 

"I could take Huwi to school"

as he suggests that he could take Huwi to school;  Sioned sends the boy upstairs to brush his teeth 

"I'm like a new woman!"

and informs Siôn that she is, “Great!   I was only up once last night, so I’m like a new woman.” 

One of them is awake

Then she resumes her phone call, while Siôn looks admiringly at the twins.   “Who is this? Mr Williams, anyway?” Sioned demands, “Go on, then, put me through!”   Siôn describes Jac and Lili as little angels.

"We have to sort out the cattle feed"

Howard comes in informing Sioned, “We have to sort the cattle feed out,” but she objects to him being there and tells him to get out – 

"And that includes you, Siôn!"

and that also applies to Siôn.

Cheryl watches . . . 

Cheryl is lying on the sofa, looking despairingly at a recording of what happened last night – 

. . . her performance last night

which appears to be what the cameraman saw.   

"Everyone is a bit rash sometimes"

Tom points out that everyone is a bit rash sometimes – no-one is perfect – and gives her a cup of tea.   

"Ignore her"

Her phone sounds and she discovers that it is Cassie;  she wonders what she should do and Tom’s advice is to ignore it.

Sioned has resolved the problem

Siôn has not left Penrhewl as instructed, but is sitting looking at a copy of Farmers’ Weekly;  Sioned appears to have solved the problem with payment of her invoice and wonders why he is still there.

"I wanted to talk to you about the Christmas Fair"

“I’m very sorry about last week – I was hasty;  I wanted to talk to you about the Christmas Fair.   I think it’s better if the money goes towards local businesses – 

"A golden opportunity to make money"

“it’s a golden opportunity for Tamed and Cae Glas to make money.”

"When are we going to see Siôn Corn?"

Sioned is preparing Huwi’s lunch bag when he comes in, asking when they are going to see Siôn Corn [the Welsh version of Santa Claus].   He is asked, “Have you finished your letter to him?”

"Greta has been, several times"

Siôn announces that Greta has been already, several times and thinks that you needed to book a place a long time ago, 

"You'll have to wait until next year"

so Sioned apologises that Huwi will have to wait until next year.   

"Or Siôn Corn could come to the Christmas Fair

Then Siôn has the idea that perhaps Siôn Corn could come to them at the Christmas Fair and Sioned appears to be in favour of that.

"We made a tidy profit"

In the Deri, Kath reports, “Despite everything, we made a tidy profit last night,” 

"We might never make a profit again!"

but Cassie laments that they might never make a profit again, after all that hullabaloo and the cameras.   She says that Cheryl is on her way there, as they ought to hear what she has to say.

"P45 and a lifetime ban!"

Kath is not in agreement with this, suggesting rather, “A P45 and a lifetime ban!   I don’t want her near this place – 

"She's a liability!"

“she’s a liability!”

"No, Kath – Tom's the liability!"

Cassie corrects her that Tom is the liability.   There is a knock at the door and Kath hopes that it is not Cheryl;  

"I left my scarf here last night"

in fact, it is Gaynor, who left her scarf there last night.   

"Did you enjoy last night?"

Kath recovers it for her and ask if she enjoyed last night.

Gaynor replies that the Deri looks great, 

"I'm sorry about Cheryl's behaviour"

but adds, “I’m sorry about Cheryl’s behaviour.”   She is reminded that it is not her fault.

"Don't you think it's odd?"

“Don’t you think it’s odd that she’s messing around with Tom?” wonders Cassie, 

"It's none of my business"

but Gaynor does not consider it any of her business.   “Remember when we met Tom in Aberystwyth?” Cassie goes on, 

"He was meeting some company, wasn't he?"

“He was there for a meeting with some company, wasn’t he?”

Gaynor recall that it was a security company or something, but cannot remember the name.   Now she is going to leave, but will be back later to taste the new menu.   

"I've got his business card somewhere . . ."

However, halfway to the door, she realises that she has one of the company’s business cards with his number on the back 

". . . yes, there it is"

and sorts through her purse to find it.

“Oh, yes – Mellten, [which translates as lightning]” she says, 

It is handed to Cassie . . . 

giving the card to Cassie, stressing that she does not need it any more.   

. . . who immediately puts on her coat . . . 

Cassie immediately puts on her coat and leaves the Deri, 

. . . and walks out

simply telling Kath that she is going out.

"Hello, do you speak Welsh?"

Once outside, she dials the number on the card;  “Hello, do you speak Welsh?   Excellent – 

"This is Eldra Bevan"

“this is Eldra Bevan – I’m David Thomas Humphrey’s (ie Tom’s) secretary.   He handed in his expenses and he’s noted that he had a meeting with you in April, but I need the exact date of that meeting – I have two in my diary for some reason.   

"I'll get Mr Humphreys to phone you"

“Oh yes, I understand, I’ll get Mr Humphries to phone you himself.”   She appears satisfied with what she has discovered.

"Have you seen this, Siôn?"

Siôn visits Britt at the MFC flat;  she is looking at the footage of what happened in the Deri last night and he says that he has already seen it.   “I’ve never seen Cheryl like that before,” she gasps.

"I have a business deal to discuss"

Siôn has a business deal to discuss with her;  

Britt takes notice

she immediately sits down and takes notice.   “I’ve been thinking about creating a Christmas Fair on the High Street,” he says;  

"Some meal deals at MFC"

Britt imagines that they could offer some meal deals at MFC.

"A green suit, perhaps"

“I’ve spoken to Sioned and she’s eager to create a Siôn Corn grotto, something traditional – the history of Siôn Corn in different European countries – a green suit, perhaps.”

"You'd be better off with a couple of Christmas Elves"

This is where Britt disagrees with him, “Green suit?   No – children want to have fun, Siôn!   You’d be better off with a couple of Christmas Elves.”   

"Not historically accurate"

He is not too sure of how historically accurate the elves are (regardless of the authenticity of Siôn Corn himself).

"What's wrong, Sioned?"

DJ has been summoned to Penrhewl by Sioned;  he wonders what is wrong.   

"I'm taking them out for some fresh air"

She says she is just taking the twins out for some fresh air, hoping that it will help them go back to sleep.   “It sounded important on the phone – is there something wrong?” he asks.

She replies that she just wants his help, not with the twins, 

Sioned has a different destination for the money

“But for a Christmas grotto to raise money for Mam’s appeal.   We need to create a grotto – we still have a sled from the Young Farmers’ rally in the shed.   We could paint it and put cushions on it, so children can have a photo with Siôn Corn – I have a plan, see?   

"Can you help me with something like that?"

“Can you help me with something like that?

DJ seems reluctant, so she continues, 

"If you don't have time for your children"

“It’s fine if you’re busy and don’t have time to spend with your children,” but he thought there was something wrong;  he still suspects that she is not all right.   “By the way,” she adds, “I want you to be Siôn Corn!”

Cassie is in the Deri

In the Deri, Cheryl arrives and apologises to Cassie;  

"I can't believe I spoiled the big night"

“I can’t believe I spoiled the big night!   I was drunk and upset.”

"Was it something I said?"

Cassie demands what came over her;  “Was it something someone said?   I spent most of the night staying away from you.”   

"You told someone I sleep around!"

Cheryl maintains that Cassie told someone that she sleeps around;  “Tom heard you.”

"I would say it to your face"

“How long have you known me?   You know if I had something to say, I would say it to your face,” Cassie asserts, “Do you believe everything Tom says?”

"What are you suggesting?"

Cheryl wants to know what she is suggesting.   “Perhaps he misheard, or failed to hear because of the noise – but we have a problem here, Cheryl!   

"I don't want him near this place ever again!"

“I don’t want him anywhere near this place ever again!”

"I thought I would not be wanted"

Cheryl assumed that she would not be wanted there, but, on the contrary, 

"That wasn't the real Cheryl . . ."

Cassie wants her to keep her job, as she knows that it was not the real Cheryl that she saw yesterday.   

". . . and I know Tom was behind it"

“And I also know that Tom is behind it.   Come on, Cheryl – he dragged you out yesterday and dragged you back last night – and said that I was saying things about you.”

"I can make my own decisions!"

Cheryl insists that she was the one who decided to leave and then come back;  “I can make my decisions!”   Cassie does not believe this for one minute, but Cheryl continues, 

"I'm going to make my own decision now . . ."

“And I’m going to make my own decision now – 

". . . stuff your job!"

“stuff your job!”   She storms out of the Deri.

The twins are out in the barn

As Sioned works in the barn, DJ cannot believe how quickly the twins are growing up;  she irritably replies, 

"Come on – or we shall never get this done!"

“Come on – or we shall never get this done!”   He wonders where she gets all the energy and she grumbles, “Well, if you want something done properly, do it yourself!”

DJ is anxious that she is finding time to rest, but she receives a phone call;  

"I completely forgot . . ."

“Hiya – everything all right?   Oh, I completely forgot – 

". . . I'll be over there now!"

“OK, I’ll be over there now.”

She tells DJ, “I was supposed to take some Cae Glas produce over to Tamed – 

"Are you all right to keep an eye on them?"

“are you all right to keep an eye on them?”   

Off she goes

DJ agrees, and she hurries off.

Furniture moving time

Some furniture moving is going on at Maes-y-Deri and Cheryl comments that it will soon be time to put up the Christmas decorations.   

"Not yet, Cher"

“Not yet, Cher,” Tom admonishes her, “The week before Christmas, you know that.”   She thought that it would be nice to put them up earlier this year.

"The sofa's much better here"

He points out that the sofa is much better in its new position 

Cheryl finds a photograph

and she finds a photograph among his possessions;  

"Do you remember that night . . .

“Oh yeah – I like that one – do you remember that night?   

". . . when I had to stop that Scouser?"

“I had to stop that Scouser talking to you all night,” and he decides it should go on the sideboard.

"These are Kath's things"

Cheryl remind him that Kath’s things there and it is not their place to put them away;  “Anyway, I quite like kitsch!”   

He betrays a hint of irritation

He is initially offended by this, but then, 

He knocks downs . . .

whether accidentally or not, 

. . . another of Kath's ornaments

he knocks down another ornament and Cheryl will find some glue.

"Hiya, it's been a while . . ."

Tom’s phone sounds;  “Hiya, it’s been a while,” he says, 

". . . Eldra Bevan?"

“Eldra who?”

DJ brought them in from the cold . . .

DJ and the twins are back inside the farmhouse when Sioned returns;  he brought them back to the house in case they were getting cold 

. . . and they are asleep 

and they appear to be sleeping peacefully.   He is sure that Lili was smiling at him, 

"It was just wind"

but Sioned imagines that it was just wind.   He is colouring in some shooting stars, 

"Because of the 'Rainbow Babies'"

“Because of the ‘Rainbow Babies’, [a baby born after miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death],” he explains, “To remember,” 

"He will always be with us"

and they put the two of them on the shelf.   Sioned says that baby John will always be with them.

"Thanks for your help today . . ."

Then she thanks DJ for his help today 

". . . you can go now"

and rather brusquely tells him that he should go, as he has a shift at APD.   

"I can come back later"

He says that he can come back later to finish the sled, but Sioned is insistent that she can do that.   Then he offered to stay with the children, 

"They're fine with me!"

but she snarls, “They’re fine with me!”

He warns her not to stay out too long and make sure that she eats something, then he leaves the farm.

Cassie goes to get something

In the new look Deri, Cassie goes to look for something and finds that Tom is lurking by the stairs;  

"What are you doing here?"

she demands what he is doing there.   

"I know about your research project, Eldra"

“I know about your research project, Eldra,” he growls, “If you want to ask me anything . . .”

"In order to get to Cheryl"

She is rather taken aback by this, but replies, “I want you to admit that you deliberately found Gaynor in order to get to Cheryl.”   

"You sound crazy"

He maintains. that she sounds crazy.

"That's what men like you always say"

“That’s what men like you always say,” she continues, “They blame the woman – say they’re out of their mind.”   

"You can't prove any of this"

He reminds her that she cannot prove any of this;  

"No, but I'm right, aren't I?"

“No, but I’m right, aren’t I?” she goes on.

"You have to interfere"

“Oh, Cassie, you haven’t got anything going on in your sad life, have you?   You have to interfere in other peoples lives to taste some excitement,” he sneers.

"Cheryl knows exactly. . . "

She begins, “Cheryl knows exactly . . .” but gets no further, 

Tom lunges upon her . . .

as Tom violently kisses her and as she pushes him away, 

. . . and accuses her of attacking him

he exclaims, “Cassie, what are you doing?   You attacked me!” and she describes him as insane.

"What's going on?"

Kath comes to see what is going on, 

"If a man did that to a woman . . ."

and Tom complains, “If a man did that to a woman, we would have to report it – I must go!”   

He looks quite pleased with his performance . . .

He barges between them to get out of the Deri 

. . . but Cheryl was taken by surprise

and Cassie is left traumatised.

Cheryl has been watching television

At Maes-y-Deri, Cheryl is watching the television when he returns, looking suitably shocked;  “Listen – there’s no easy way to say this – Cassie kissed me!”

Cheryl’s first reaction is to dismiss this as nonsense, 

"I went over to talk to her . . ."

so he elaborates, “I went over to talk to her.”   

". . . I was just being friendly"

Cheryl wants to know what he said to her and he maintains that there was nothing – he was just being friendly.   

"She said something about me stalking you . . ."

“She was saying something about me stalking Gaynor in order to get closer to you – some rubbish like that – and then she said I shouldn’t waste my time with clueless women and that I needed a real woman – 

". . . and then she just jumped on me!"

“and then she just jumped on me!   I didn’t know what was going on!”

"No, Cher, don't go . . .`"

Cheryl says that she needs to talk to Cassie, but is prevented from doing by Tom;  

". . . I want you here with me!"

“No, please, I want you here with me, please!”   

It works, every time

She is, as usual, taken in by this and gives him a hug, exactly as intended.

"I don't think we should go near her again"

“I don’t think we should go near her again,” he recommends, “She’s a dangerous woman,” and of course Cheryl agrees with him.

"He knew exactly what he was doing"

In the Deri, Kath brings Cassie a drink, as she relates, “He knew exactly what he was doing!”   

"Well, I don't want to see either of them near this place!"

Kath is adamant that she does not want to see either of them near the place again.   

"Is Colin here?"

At that moment Britt comes in, looking for Colin, who is not there.   “What do you think of this?” she asks, taking a Father Christmas outfit from her bag, 

"Only £5 in Apêl Maenan"

“I got it at Apêl Maenan – £5 – do you think it will fit him?”

The two by the bar are not in the mood for this, so Britt leaves again, 

"The festive spirit obviously hasn't reached here!"

complaining, “The festive spirit obviously hasn’t reached this place!”

"Did you stalk Gaynor to get to me?"

Cheryl is thinking seriously and asks Tom, “Is that what you did – stalk Gaynor in order to get to me?”   He assures her that there is no truth in that;  

"I'm shocked you think so"

in fact, he is shocked that she is accusing him of it.

"I just want the best for you"

“What happened between Gaynor and me was real – look, I know I’m not perfect – but I just want the best for you – always.   Not like Cassie – I am willing to accept you, just as you are, all right?   Your failings and everything.”

He backs away . . .

As she does not look convinced, he backs away, 

. . . as she wants him to go

admitting, “I understand – you want to leave me, don’t you?   You want to leave me again.”   

"It's OK, Tom"

This succeeds in changing her mind and she immediately runs to him, assuring him that it is OK.   

"I love you, Cher"

He professes his love for her and she reciprocates.

"It's looking good, Sioned"

Howard approaches Sioned, who is again working in the shed, with the twins nearby.   “I’m just finishing this, and then we’ll be in,” she tells him, and he agrees that it is looking good.   “I would have finished it sooner if I didn’t have so much to sort out today,” she adds.

"You need to grow up quickly"

Howard tells the twins, “You need to grow up quickly, so you can help your Mami.”   Lili is merrily waving her arms and legs, 

He is alarmed when he feels Jac

but when he looks at Jac, 

"Sioned!"

he alerts Sioned, 

"He's cold!"

“Jac is cold – he’s not moving!   How long have you been out here?”

"What's wrong with him?"

Sioned panics, “What’s wrong with him?” but Howard is quickly on the phone;  

"Hello, Ambulance!"

“Hello – Ambulance!” he says.
