Cassie has two coffees

In the deli, Cassie carries two coffees across to the table, where Kath is looking at her laptop;  “Is it decaf?” she asks.

"We can divide the jobs between us"

Cassie points out that there is a lot of work to do in the Deri today, so she thought they could divide the jobs between them, as there is no point in being on the workers’ backs.

Cheryl has joined them

Cheryl joins them

"You're best at whipping the workers into shape"

as Kath maintains, “You’re the best at whipping the workers into shape, Cassie.   You like cleaning, don’t you Cheryl?”   Cassie wonders what Kath will be doing;  she replies that there is a lot of boring paperwork to do there – and she has to pick a new oven.

"Don't burn yourself on the cappuccino"

Cassie cautions her not to burn herself on the cappuccino;  she and Cheryl leave to do some work.

"I need to get something from the shop"

On the way, Cassie says that she needs to get something from the shop

Sioned appears full of beans

and at that moment Sioned comes out of the alley, looking very efficient.

"How are the twins?"

Cheryl ask how the twins are

"They're with Dadi for a change"

and Sioned informs her, “They’re with Dadi for a change.”

Cheryl imagines that this will be a chance for her to rest, but on the contrary, she alleges, “I don’t need to rest – I don’t need much sleep either these days.   It’s like my body has adapted – I was up until one, defrosting the freezer and then I start sorting their clothes.”

"Don't you do too much"

She is advised to look after herself as well and not to do too much.

Sioned goes to the deli

Sioned goes into the deli with her file of papers and Kath remarks, “You’ve got paperwork to do as well, have you?

"It never stops for us businesswomen"

“It never stops for us businesswomen.”

"Cae Glas have some short-dated chutneys"

Sioned advises that they have some boxes of chutneys going out of date in two weeks – and some olives, which might interest the Deri.

“It’s not surprising, is it?” is Kath’s response,

"You need a better system that what you've got there"

“You need a better system than the one you’ve got there if you’re going to run a business.”

Sioned gets up and walks out

Sioned takes offence at this, packs away her papers and storms out.

Colin at the shop . . .

Colin is working in the shop when she arrives there, wanting to see the shop’s advises

. . . is surprised to see Sioned out

He is very surprised to see her there and asks how the babies are settling.   Sioned wants to make sure that they are on top of all the payments,

Colin gets all the invoices

so Colin rummages around under the counter and comes up with an even thicker file.

Sioned wants him to check the dates

“Listen, so many things are going out of date at Tamed, I want you to check that everything is all right – or we’ll have money flowing through our fingers at this rate.”

"That's what Mam-gu Mwnt said"

“Oh, tell me, are the two little ones sleeping well?” he asks, “You have to sleep when they’re asleep – that’s what Mam-gu Mwnt said when Izzy was born.   But it’s never that easy, is it?

"She was like a little angel"

“You know, I remember watching her sleep for hours – she was like a little angel – and then making sure she was breathing properly, watching that little chest going up and down, up and down.”

He is getting on Sioned's nerves already

Sioned, who has been sorting through the invoices, is becoming rather tired of this,

"There's so much to worry about . . ."

but he drones on, “There’s so much to worry about – but you always worry,

". . . things like cot death"

“about things like cot death, making sure she’s sleeping on the right side and that her blanket is safe.”

This is getting too much now

Sioned is becoming more and more disheartened and still he continues, “Making sure she’s sleeping in the cot, not in the bed, but she loved sleeping on me.

"Up and down, up and down"

“I spent hours watching those lungs go up and down, up and down.”

"You're here to run a shop, Colin!"

She finally has had enough and reminds Colin, “Well, you’re here to run a shop now, Colin, not to give a lecture about babies!”   She picks up all the files and stalks out of the shop,

Colin is feeling guilty

leaving Colin afraid that he has put his foot in it.

Sioned makes a phone call

When she gets outside the shop, she dials a number on her phone;  “Hiya, where are you?   You said you’d be in the village.

"I'm coming to get them . . ."

“No, I’m coming to get them – I’m not arguing with you –

". . . I want my children home with me, now!"

“I want my children home with me, now!”

They sit in front of the television

At Llwyncelyn, Gaynor is watching a film, while Tom’s attention is on his laptop, where he is looking at the CCTV from the site.

"I could recite most of it"

When she comments that the film is a classic, he maintains that he could recite most of it by heart.   “But I’d rather hear Morgan Freeman do it, thanks,” she says.

"Oh, you fool . . ."

Then he suddenly exclaims, “Oh, you fool!

". . . he's left the door wide open!"

“That new guy has left the door wide open!   I’ll have to go!

"Will you be OK?"

“Will you be OK?   I won’t be long.”

Cheryl is putting more rubbish out

Cheryl is bringing yet another bag of rubbish out of the Deri when Tom passes on his way to the work site.

Sioned with her bundle of files

“Sioned looks as if she’s walked out of a magazine,” Cheryl comments as they see her passing, “And she’s just had a baby – two, in fact.”

"You're much prettier than her"

Tom insists that Cheryl is much prettier than Sioned;

"Why are you here?"

Cheryl wonders why he is there and he reminds her, “You haven’t been to Llwyncelyn for days – you can’t avoid Gaynor for ever.”

"I can't face her"

“I can’t face her after what I did,” she replies

"Come for a ride in the car with me"

and he invites her to come for a ride in the car with him so that they can talk properly.   “No, Dave,” she answers;  again he urges her to call him Tom.

"Kath and Cassie need me here"

“Kath and Cassie need me in there,” she tells him and he suggests that a little break might help.

"Remember when we used to go for an adventure?"

He reminds her of when they would go for a spin – or an adventure – just jump into the car and see where they would end up, which would always make her feel better.

She wants to know where they are going, but he does not consider that as being important.

"Come on"

“Come on, Cher – you used to be a lot more spontaneous.   We won’t be long – come on!”   She agrees to go with him.

Sioned is juggling a phone and a bottle

Sioned is back at the farmhouse and is just preparing a feed for the babies

Siôn brings Huwi home

when Huwi returns from school, accompanied by Greta and Siôn, who enlightens her that it is nearly four.   “Ffion said I could pick him up.”

"I'm sorry I forgot, Huwi"

Sioned is so sorry that she forgot all about Huwi,

Off they go to play upstairs

but all he is interested in is going to play upstairs on the tablet with Greta.   Sioned apologises that she simply lost track of time and has been speaking to suppliers.

"I could take him to school in the morning"

Siôn can quite understand that she has her hands full;  he suggests that he could take Huwi to school in the morning and bring him back in the afternoon.   “I have to take Greta anyway.”

"We have a routine, Siôn"

At first, Sioned insists that they have a routine;

"I've already told the kids"

“Why don’t we do it until the end of next week?   I’ve already told the kids in the car now – and they’re looking forward to it,” he proposes and she agrees, although reluctantly, to this.

"I'm starving!"

Then one of the babies can be heard on the monitor and Huwi is complaining that he is starving.

Sioned goes to sort out the babies . . .

Siôn volunteers to sort out a snack while she goes to the baby.

. . . while Siôn noses into the accounts

Siôn takes out his glasses and begins investigating the papers on the table.

"Nothing appears to be missing"

Tom arrives at the site cabin and a quick search indicates that nothing is missing;  he tells Cheryl, that the new young guy had left the door wide open and she looks suspiciously at him.

"If this had happened in the past . . ."

“If something like that had happened in the past, you’d be shouting and swearing,” she remarks

"I'm a different person now . . ."

and again he points out that he is a different person now.

". . . perhaps you could get to know this new person"

“Perhaps you could get to know this new person as a friend who helps Gaynor.”

Cheryl has a panic attack

She looks as if she is going to burst into tears and gasps that she has ruined everything.

"Deep breaths"

He can see the signs of an imminent panic attack and instructs her to breathe deeply;  “Don’t think about anything else – deep breaths,” and she gradually calms down.

"Remember pretending to have panic attacks?"

“Do you remember pretending to have panic attacks at school?   Dodging the maths exam.”

She calms down . . .

She thinks that she is all right now and thanks him;

. . . and they kiss

they kiss, quite passionately, by the look of it.

Gaynor glances at the laptop . . .

Gaynor, who is not quite dozing on the sofa, happens to look at the laptop, which Tom has left open and showing the CCTV pictures from the site.

. . . and what she witnesses . . .

What she sees on the screen infuriates her;  the passionate clinch going on in the site office.

. . . outrages her

She is totally outraged.

Sioned comes back downstairs

After dealing with the babies, Sioned returns to the kitchen, where Siôn is busily scrutinising the accounts.

"What are you doing?"

“What are you doing?” she demands and he says that he is not interfering, but only trying to help.   “Well, keep your nose out of my business then!” she snarls.

"I have an idea that will help"

“Some of these invoices are very late being paid,” he points out, but Sioned insists that she is sorting things out.   He has an idea which he says will help, but at that moment Colin arrives.

"Sorry of I'm disturbing"

“I’m sorry if I’m disturbing your evening,” he begins, then sees Siôn there.

"Have you got the shop in order?"

Sioned asks him if he got the shop in order and he says that he has,

"I want to apologise for earlier"

but came over to say sorry about earlier, handing Sioned a box of chocolates.

Of course, Siôn wants to know what Colin did

"Not the best idea I've ever had"

and he answers, “Well, I was talking about cot death to a new mother – which isn’t the best idea that I’ve ever had.”

"Wha came over you, Colin?"

“What came over you?” growls Siôn, “Why would you do that in front of Sioned, when her twins are exactly the same age . . .”

By now, Sioned is in tears

There he abruptly stops, as the two of them have reduced her to tears.

"I just want Mam back!"

“I’m sorry – I don’t know why I’m upset – I just want Mam back,” she sobs.

Gaynor sternly waits

Gaynor is waiting with her arms folded

"Sorry I didn't come over"

as Cheryl comes in, apologising for not coming over at the weekend.

They stand, transfixed

Tom follows her and the two of them are on the receiving end of Gaynor’s steely gaze.

"As if nothing has happened!"

“Do you think you can just walk in as if nothing has happened?   I saw you!”

"Oh no!"

Gaynor points at the laptop and Tom realises what he has done, whether accidentally or not.

"You're sorry, are you?"

However, no amount of apologies will make any difference;  “You’re sorry, are you?”

"This is not how I wanted you to find out"

He maintains that this was not the way he wanted her to find out and when Cheryl tries to say something,

"You can shut your mouth!"

she is told to shut her mouth.

“You didn’t seem to care about me when you were all over each other!”

Then she turns to Cheryl, “Is this how you treat your sister?”

"It was a mistake"

She argues that it was a complete mistake, but is asked, “How often has this ‘mistake’ happened?”

Cheryl replies that it was only once and promises it will never happen again.   Gaynor shakes her head in disbelief

"And yet you choose her!"

and demands, “What about you?   All the lies she said about you – saying you’re abusive, you’re a monster – and yet you choose her!”

"I wasn't lying, Gaynor!"

When Cheryl stresses that she was not lying, she is told, “Of course you were, or you would never have gone back to him!   Just get out of my house!” she shouts and Cheryl is quick to do so.

"And you can get out as well!"

Tom rushes to Gaynor, but her response is to order him out of the house as well.

"I'm not going anywhere!"

He insists that he is going nowhere.

Now Sioned wants to get in with her work

At Penrhewl, the three of them have had a cup of tea and Sioned has now calmed down;  she would like to crack on with her work, but is reminded by Siôn that it is important that she looks after herself.   Colin advises that she should catch up on a little sleep;  “There’s no shame in asking for help –

"There are plenty of gadgets to help"

“and these days there are plenty of gadgets to help – isn’t that right, Siôn?”

"Most of them are a waste of money"

Siôn however regards most of them as a waste of money;  “I remember Iolo buying a sleep monitor and something to weigh food – it was completely over the top.”

"I'd like you to go now"

Sioned would like them to go, as she has things to do or it will be feeding time again.   This time they take the hint;  Siôn calls for Greta and promises to return tomorrow to take Huwi to school.

She thinks about what was said

Sioned, although looking tired, thinks about what they have said.

Tome brings a hot water bottle

Tom brings Gaynor a hot water bottle

"Why do you want her back?"

and she asks, “Why?   Do you want her back?”   He is rather equivocal about that, answering that he does not know,

"She has this power over me"

explaining that she has this power over him, as if she is playing games.   He is confused, as it is not healthy and once more tells her how sorry he is.

"What have I done to deserve this?"

“Why would you do something so underhand?   What have I done to deserve this?”

"I am just weak"

He answers that she has not done anything, but he is just weak;

"When it happened last week . . ."

“When it happened last week, I felt so terrible – I knew I should have told you straightaway,”

"So this is not the first time?"

and Gaynor realises that this is not the first time that it has happened.

“So Cheryl lied?” gasps Gaynor, but he maintains it was only because she does not want to lose her sister.   “It’s shame she did not think of that before kissing you.   To be clear, I have nothing to say to you, either.”

"We're over – you can go now"

When he says again that he is sorry, she replies, “It doesn’t matter though, does it?   Because we’re over!   You can go now.”

This time he remembers the laptop . . .

He leaves the house, remembering to take his laptop this time,

. . . and Gaynor is miserable

while Gaynor looks downcast.

Sioned looks at the laptop

At Penrhewl, Sioned is looking on the laptop at Baby Sleep Safety Accessories,

Finances cannot be that parlous, then

where she has amassed several items totalling just shy of £750;  she clicks on the ‘purchase’ button

She is worried about the twins' safety

and closes the laptop, looking very worried.

Cheryl is in floods of tears

Cheryl is sitting in tears at Maes-y-Deri when Tom knocks on the door.   He begs her to open it.   She shouts,

"You left it open for Gaynor to see"

“You left that laptop open for Gaynor to see,” and refuses to let him in.

Of course he maintains that he just wanted to check that she is OK and points out that Gaynor is angry with him, not her.   “She’s finished with me now, so, Cher, please!”

She goes to open the door

She capitulates to his demands and opens the door;

"It was a mistake, honestly"

“Leaving the laptop open was a mistake, honestly.”

"If we hadn't been so stupid . . ."

Cheryl points out that what they did was no accident – if they had not been so stupid, there would have been nothing for Gaynor to see.

"You're amazing, Cheryl"

“She didn’t deserve this – I am an awful person!” she wails, but Tom describes her as amazing.

He says that they just cannot live without each other, no matter how hard they try.

“I didn’t want to come between you and Gaynor like this –

"Do you want me to leave?"

“I’m sorry – do you want me to leave?”

"No"

She shakes her head

His plans are coming to fruition

and instead they hug each other.
