Maya and Delyth return home early from the Welsh learning holiday and Maya is furious; “Every time – not only the 5:00am start, but I’m missing the last day of the course – our awards ceremony! This can’t keep happening! I hope that DI Lloyd’s grateful that you’re stepping in today.”

Delyth happens to look through into the pharmacy and is dismayed

to see the place in disarray, with various items strewn across the floor.

Maya cannot believe it; “What a welcome home!” says Delyth.
It is thought that the burglars must have come through the back door and Maya wonders why the alarm did not go off;

“Douglas must have forgotten to set it!”

"Check the CCTV" |
She is told to go and check the CCTV and Delyth wonders what the intruders were after.

Douglas looks like being the prime suspect |
It is discovered that the CCTV is turned off, another of Douglas’s failings, and Maya will now need to check the stock list. “I don’t have time for this – I’m supposed to be interviewing later,” she wails.

Delyth will report the burglary this morning and as soon as she is done with DI Lloyd, she will come straight back to help.

At APD, Mathew is preparing to travel to the site in Llanelli when Sioned appears; “Have you got five minutes?” she asks,

but he is in a hurry to get to the site. “Five minutes, Math – I have to get back to the deli,” she pleads,

"There was a bag of power and tablets" |
“You know the stuff I found in Rhys’ pocket? There was a bag of powder and tablets as well.”

"So what are you trying to say?" |
Mathew wonders what Sioned is trying to say;

“Perhaps they were Rohypnol.” He cannot imagine that Rhys would ‘spike’ himself, but she suggests that something went wrong;

“You know how desperate he was with those girls – why doesn’t he want us to go to the police, then? If someone tried to ‘spike’ someone else, the police have to know.”

He instructs her to say nothing |
Mathew demands whether anyone else knows about this and when told that they do know, insists that it has to stay this way.

Sioned objects, “We can’t ignore this, just because it doesn’t suit us – I hope as much as you that it isn’t true – but its a possibility, and you know that!” She walks out of APD.

Delyth is very soon back from the police station; “It turns out I wasn’t even needed,” she grumbles, “What a joke!”

Then a customer knocks on the door of the pharmacy and is told that they are closed.
Maya has found that the intruders took a mixture of prescription drugs;

“It freaks me out to think someone’s been in here.” Then she receives a message with photos from the last day of the course and Delyth is so sorry that she missed it.

“It’s a good job I came back because of this – and I need to get my head around these interviews,” Maya groans.
She is asked whether she is still counting on Gaynor as a candidate and replies that her CV was quite comprehensive.

“I’m sure it is, but I’m convinced she’ll be sticking her beak in everywhere,” says Delyth, adding, “Do you want some rolls and coffee from the deli?”

Mark cannot make himself heard |
Mark knocks on the back door of Maes-y-Deri but is unable to make himself heard, because the loud music emanating from upstairs.

Cheryl almost drops her crockery |
Cheryl has just finished her breakfast and is very shocked when she sees him standing in the kitchen and almost drops her plate.
He apologises profusely for startling her and she insists that it is not him,

but she thought he was someone else.

"What's going on upstairs?" |
She sits down to recover and Mark demands what is going on upstairs.
“Gaynor’s hyping herself up for a job interview,” Cheryl informs him and he feels rather awkward with the flowers he is carrying.

DS Delyth is talking to Mathew in the shop flat about the burglary, which he knows nothing about. She wonders if anything has been stolen from APD,

but all was well when he went there this morning. She asks him to get in touch if he hears anything else.

Meanwhile Rhys is coming up the stairs and is very suspicious when he sees the DS leaving.

“Why was she here?” he wants to know, and is told that there was a break-in at the pharmacy.

"Are you sure you don't know who was responsible?" |
When Rhys sits down he is asked if he is sure he does not know who is responsible for this ‘spiking’; “I can’t imagine it was those girls.”

"Suspect me, do you?" |
Rhys come to the conclusion that Mathew suspects him, but maintains that it could be anyone – Mathew himself could have brought the stuff.

“Everyone’s in the frame, aren’t they? Everyone who was at the party,” Rhys insists.

"Not a single person heard that door being forced" |
When Delyth arrives back from the deli, she remarks, “Do you know what? I can’t believe not a single person in Cwmderi heard that door being forced open last night.”

Maya has no idea and that is why she does not do Delyth’s job.

“I feel so bad that you missed your last session because of me,” Delyth goes on,

“But you were the star pupil – they all said it,” Delyth reminds her and it is dismissed as just a course.

As they walk along along a lane in Cwmderi with flowers growing along a wall, Cheryl thanks him for the coffee, but he regrets that it is not very nice. “That doesn’t matter – it’s wet,” she answers.

“Listen, are you all right after this morning?” he enquires, and she accepts that her reaction was rather extreme,

“When Mam died, I realised there was literally nothing keeping me in Wrexham any more.

She sits down on a bench; “Dave was at CrossFit – I’d planned everything to a ‘T’. But just as I was about to leave, he came back – CrossFit had been cancelled.

Maya looks rather askance at the suggestion as Gaynor finds the relevant medication at a cost of £3.60.

“Although my Welsh isn’t perfect, I’m pretty sure my actor went a bit off-script,” Maya comments.

Out in the park, Mark has had enough of that coffee and pours the rest away; “So you were scared of one of Dave’s friends coming because you left him for dead?” he assumes.

“Oh, no – he’s not dead – a friend told me that. He was off work for a bit, but he’s fine now,” she replies

and Mark realises that it is Dave himself who scared her. She confirms that he is not one to let things go and has been phoning her a lot;

“Look, I’m not one that trusts the pigs 100%,” admits Mark, “But I think you should talk to them, to sort out some protection.”

She points out that there is one small problem with that – Dave is a copper, quite high up.

“Any more plot twists?” Mark asks.
He wonders what Gaynor thinks of all this,

and Cheryl is adamant that she would never tell Gaynor; “I lied to her – Dave got in touch after what happened – he wanted money from me or he’d grass me to the cops. I didn’t have the stomach to tell Gaynor what happened – it was too messy.

Mark insists that Gaynor would understand,

Maya has received several messages on her phone as they sit in the Deri, and Delyth remarks that someone is popular. “It’s Keisha and Brynley from the course,” Maya explains and then continues, “The successful candidate for the job is coming over soon.”

She will not reveal who it is, but then Gaynor comes in, with anticipation,

exclaiming, “I came as quickly as I could.” She is congratulated on getting the job, and told that her interview was fab.

Gaynor is very pleased and is about to hug Maya,

They will sort out all the details tomorrow, but first Maya needs to apologise; “I didn’t realise Hywel was your ex.” Gaynor points out that they are on good terms and wonders when she is required to start. They decide on Thursday.

Then Gaynor goes over to the bar, where Hywel is sitting, with her exciting news, so he also congratulates her.

Mathew points out that she was there to talk about the burglary and he was as shocked as Rhys, who does not for a moment believe this.
As Sioned joins them, Mathew accuses him of being paranoid.

Rhys looks at the two of them and comes to the conclusion, “You’re both in this together. I’m the one who nearly drowned – I’m the victim here.”
They both agree with this and Sioned demands why he will not go to the police;

“Come on, Mathew – only the guilty react like that,” she insists, but he reminds her that she does not have any proof – this is only a hunch.
“I’m not losing a good friend over a hunch – so, please, drop it!” he warns her and he, too, walks out.

Maya thinks that is so sweet and is told that she deserved something to cheer her up after the break-in; “Plus I know that I’ve been work obsessed lately.”

Sioned and Mathew have taken their argument to the bar in the Deri; “He’s my friend, too, Math, but what are we supposed to do? Pretend we don’t know anything when we do?”

Mathew stresses that they do not know anything apart from the fact he collapsed – and now she is dragging his name through the mud.

The DS suggests that they go outside.

She merely asks how he is; “And that’s what you wanted to talk with me about?” he demands. She has heard that he has been ‘spiked’ and assures him that they take these things seriously.

“Whatever Sioned’s told you, don’t worry,” he snarls.

“Is it true you’re taking drugs?” Delyth asks;

he laughs as he imagines that they are arresting people on hearsay now. “I’m talking to you as a neighbour,” she answers.
