Jinx is in the process of moving . . . |

“Just something I bought – I’m sending it back – I don’t need it any more,” she replies,
![]() |
"You'd better get a move on" |
“You’d better get a move on or you’ll be late for work.”
He comments that it sounds as if she is trying to get rid of him;
![]() |
"Are you OK, Sioned?" |
“Are you OK? You would tell me if you were ill, wouldn’t you?” She simply instructs him to go, and after assuring her, “I love you,” he does so.

![]() |
"I can't stay long" |
Maya visits Penrhewl again, but cannot stay long as it is her lunch hour; Sioned deduces, from the look of her, that she had another late night. “Yeah, you could say that – but Rhys was not up to his old tricks again – blame D.
![]() |
"D was the one who kept me up last night!" |
“She was the one who kept me up last night.”
![]() |
"Lucky you" |
Sioned describes her as lucky, and Maya continues, “I got up with a bit of a spring in my step this morning.”

![]() |
"It's like he's not interested . . ." |
“It’s like he’s not interested – almost as if he cannot see past the cardiac arrest.”
She is advised to just give him some more time; “How much?” Sioned demands,
![]() |
". . . I offered it to him on a plate!" |
“I offered it to him on a plate!” Maya is confident that it will get better, but Sioned wants to know, “What if it doesn’t?”
![]() |
"Sorry it went pear-shaped" |
“Look, I’m sorry it went pear shaped,” says Maya,
![]() |
"I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me" |

![]() |
"Look at the state of me" |
Dani wipes her tears and apologises to Jinx; “Look at the state of me,” she says. Jinx wonders if Gwern will let her see him after today
![]() |
"He didn't look at me – not once" |
and she recalls, “He didn’t look at me – not once – he doesn’t want anything to do with me.”
![]() |
"He will come round, Dani" |
Jinx maintains that he will come round, but Dani has her doubts about this.
![]() |
"So perhaps he did know I was int he house" |
“You were right that he knew I was in the house, if he’s confessed to attempted murder.”
Dani imagines that he might have pleaded guilty just to spite her; “Gwern’s capable of doing anything these days.”
Jinx concedes, “Perhaps he did intend to kill me, perhaps not – only Gwern knows that. I’m going to sort out that wall today,” he adds, looking at the smoke damage, “I’m going to paint it.”
![]() |
"Pretending Gwern didn't try to burn the place down?" |
“Pretending that Gwern didn’t try to burn the place down – with you in it?” asks Dani, and Jinx realises that this is the last place she wants to be today.

Iolo advises the school |
Iolo is speaking on the phone, evidently to the school, advising that Seren is in the house and is fine. I’ve tried contacting her mother, but the court case is today.
![]() |
"Yes, I'll let the police know" |
“Yes, I’ll let the police know and tell Danny to call you back.”
![]() |
"Why did you leave school today?" |
Then he turns his attention to Seren; “Why did you leave school today?” and at first there is no response.
![]() |
"Perhaps I can help" |
“You can talk to me, you know – perhaps I can help,” but she sadly shakes her head. “Has someone upset you – been mean to you?

"Look, APD is just here" |
“There’s no point going to town for paint,” Dani insists, “APD is just here.”
![]() |
Jinx does not want to go in there |
Jinx, very keen to avoid Jason, maintains that there is more choice in town. “They can mix any colour you want,” she goes on and he is adamant that it will be cheaper in town, but finally has to enter APD – something which he is dreading.
![]() |
"I want paint, but I don't know what" |
“I want paint, but I’m not sure what,” Dani tells Jason, “Is eggshell better than matt?” Jason replies that it depends on what she is painting. “Jinx’s living room,” she replies and Jinx joins her.
![]() |
"I'm not serving him!" |
“You don’t expect me to advise him?” Jason snarls, “I’m not serving him!”
![]() |
She wonders what this is all about |
Dani is caught in the middle of this,
![]() |
"You want to be careful round him" |
with Jason advising her, “You want to be careful round him,” and Dani wants to know what that is supposed to mean.
![]() |
"I can take my business elsewhere" |
Jinx says that he can take his business elsewhere
![]() |
"Yes, you can – off you go" |
and is told, “Yes, you can – off you go, then. Sorry, Dani, but you obviously don’t know the half of it!”
![]() |
Howard has been listening to the altercation |
They leave APD rather swiftly, passing Howard, who is also in the shop, but follows them out.
![]() |
Seren certainly looks happier now |
Seren has brightened up considerably, as Iolo has taken her to the deli and DJ supplied a cake with one candle on it.
![]() |
"Happy birthday dear Dad – happy birthday to Dad!" |
They are singing to her, “Happy birthday to Dad!”
![]() |
She extinguishes the candle |
She blows out the candle and makes a wish; Iolo advises that sometimes wishes come true.
![]() |
"So Dad will know that I miss him?" |
“So Dad will know that I miss him?” Seren demands, and Iolo is sure that he will know that, but becomes very emotional.
![]() |
Iolo is rather overwhelmed |
He apologises to DJ, commenting, “Greta and Seren, they’re both in the same boat, aren’t they?
![]() |
"Can you keep an eye on Seren for a minute?" |
“Sorry, I’m just being silly – can you keep an eye on Seren for a minute?” and he escapes to the toilet.
![]() |
"Are you going to share some of that with me?" |
DJ asks Seren, “Are you going to share some of that with me?”
![]() |
No chance of that |
She decisively shakes her head.
![]() |
"I wasn't running away" |
Back at number 9, Jinx explains, “I wasn’t running away – I didn’t want to make a scene in public.” Dani wants to know what happened in there, but he maintains there is nothing to say.
![]() |
"I'm sick of people hiding things from me" |
“Jinx, I’m sick of people hiding things from me.”
![]() |
"OK – forget about it!" |
When he does not reply, she goes on, “OK – forget about it!” and is about to leave the house.
![]() |
"Jason thinks I'm after Kelly" |
Jinx admits, “Jason thinks I’m after Kelly,” and she demands whether this is true. “Dani, no!” but she has heard what people have been saying about that video.
He is adamant that the video was schoolkids with nothing better to do; “So why does Jason think there’s something going on?”
![]() |
"Something happened before the wedding" |
Jinx explains that something happened before the wedding; “We kissed and almost slept together – but it only happened once –
![]() |
"I'm not saying that makes it right" |
“I’m not saying that makes it right. It doesn’t – but it happened a long time before anything happened between us, OK?”
![]() |
"And nothing's happened since?" |
“And nothing’s happened since?” Dani enquires. Jinx confirms this, that he and Kelly are just friends.
![]() |
"We were together for a long time" |
“Kel and I – it’s complicated, all right? We’ve known each other for years – we were together for a long time. At the start of the year we kept each other company and some old feelings returned – we crossed the line.”
![]() |
"Why haven't you told me this?" |
Dani asks why he has not told her this and he says that he did not know where they stood at that time.
![]() |
"I as scared you'd think less of me – and you do" |
“It’s not easy to admit that you did something you shouldn’t have – and I was scared – scared that you’d think less of me – and you do, don’t you?”
![]() |
"After today, this is all too much for me" |
Dani smiles, “After today, this is all too much for me,”
![]() |
"Don't go, please, Dani" |
but he pleads with her not to go; they should talk about it.
![]() |
Jason is loading the van . . . |
As Jason loads bags of cement into the van,
![]() |
. . . when Howard suddenly appears |
Howard suddenly appears; “You still haven’t paid your bill!” says Jason.
![]() |
"I tried to warn you about them" |
“I heard the to-do with Dani and Jinx – anything to do with him and Kelly? I tried to warn you about them.”
![]() |
"That's none of your business" |
Jason tells him that is none of his business,
![]() |
"If some scum was sniffing round my girlfriend . . ." |
but he continues, “If some scum was sniffing around my girlfriend, I’d teach him a lesson. I can help you if you want.”
“Why would you want to help me?” Jason wonders, and Howard suggests he might be willing to cancel the bill – a favour for a favour. He maintains that Jason cannot let Jinx get away with this.
![]() |
"No, thank you, Howard" |
Jason politely declines his offer and closes the van doors.
![]() |
"I can't be with someone who hides things" |
Dani spells it out to Jinx, “It’s really easy for me – I cannot be with someone who hides things from me.”
![]() |
"I'm not Garry" |
He reminds her that he is not Garry; the relationship between him and Kelly was over long before anything happened between them.
![]() |
"We realised we should not have done it" |
“We realised how stupid it was – and that we shouldn’t have done it.”
Dani insists that she has to be able to trust the person she is with, and he assures her, “You can trust me, OK?”
![]() |
"Garry said that – and Dylan and Wilko" |
She remembers that Garry also said that, “And Dylan – and Wilko.”
“I know that you’ve been hurt – but I wouldn’t do that to you – I know how it feels, honestly. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, especially you,” Jinx tells her, “I’ll always love Kelly as a friend –
![]() |
"We'll never be anything more than just mates" |
“but we’ll never be anything more than just mates – we’ve agreed we’re better off that way. I just want to be honest with you.”
![]() |
"No nonsense" |
Dani solemnly warns him, “No nonsense – I won’t put up with it!”
![]() |
They kiss |
and they kiss. At this inopportune moment, Jinx’s phone sounds and he finds that it is a call from Iolo.
![]() |
"She's here, yes – I'll tell her to go home" |
“Yes, she’s here – OK, yeah, I’ll tell her to go home now.”
![]() |
"Something to do with Seren" |
He explains to Dani, “It’s something to do with Seren – but nothing to worry about.” She will text him later
![]() |
He thinks that has been dealt with |
and Jinx breathes a sigh of relief, having sorted things out with her.
![]() |
"Painkillers?" |
In the pharmacy, DJ is looking for painkillers;
![]() |
"Thanks for going to see Sioned " |
“Thanks for going to see Sioned earlier – I think she gets a bit bored. I call her a few times a day to make sure she’s all right.”
Maya enquires how Sioned seems today;
![]() |
"I hope you don't think I'm sticking my beak in" |
“I’m a little bit worried about her to be honest – I hope you don’t think I’m sticking my beak in or anything, but I think she’s a little bit down.”
![]() |
"She was all right this morning . . ." |
DJ reports that she was all right when he spoke to her this morning
![]() |
". . . and we had a lovely evening last night" |
and they had a lovely evening last night. Maya thinks that she must have misunderstood, in that case.
![]() |
"Please don't say anything" |
As he picks up the tablets and is about to leave, she adds, “I don’t want to make things worse, so please don’t say anything – I don’t want Sioned to think I’m talking about her as well as everything else. I know you look after her, DJ – you’ve been amazing. You’re kind, considerate, you shower her with gifts, but sometimes it takes a little bit more than a pair of slippers –
“or even a spicy sausage.”
![]() |
"She told you about those, did she?" |
“Oh, she told you about those, did she?” DJ groans.
Maya continues that she thinks, after everything that Sioned has been through,
![]() |
"She needs to feel wanted – of you get me" |
“She just needs to feel . . . like a woman, you know, wanted – if you get me.”
![]() |
"Thanks for there tips" |
Although he look rather puzzled, he thanks her for the tips.
![]() |

![]() |
. . . as Geraint waits for the empty glass |
he tells Geraint, who is on duty today. “Dinner was ready five minutes ago, so I’d better be off – thanks, Geraint.”

Jinx approaches and sits down alongside him; “Just to let you know, your stirring backfired.

![]() |
"Don't worry, I won't keep you long . . ." |
