Anita finds a scene of devastation |
Anita walks into the kitchen at Bryntirion to find the table cluttered with the remains of breakfast, plus one of Ifan’s lorries. She looks dismayed and begins to clear things up, but then notices a pair of Ieuan’s shoes on the worktop.

She shouts for him and he appears, dressed in a flowery dressing gown, realising that is where he has left them. “Yes, on the counter!”

"That's disgusting – we prepare food here!" |
she reprimands him, “That’s disgusting – we prepare food here!” and he explains that he was polishing them last night and forgot they were there.

"It won't happen again, Anita" |
He assures her that it will not happen again and will now get dressed and go to work.

"It's like living with two toddlers" |
On the way he meets Kelly, to whom Anita apologises, “Sorry about the mess – it’s like living with two toddlers.”

"It's handy having him to babysit Ifan" |
Kelly replies that it is handy to have him there sometimes to babysit Ifan and that sort of thing.
“Have you see my keys? I’m supposed to meet Eileen,” Kelly continues, and Anita quickly finds them near the hob,

"Are you sure you want to write this article?" |
then asks if she is sure that she wants to write this article.

"Yes – and it will be the last one" |
“Yes – and it will be the last one,” is Kelly’s decisive answer.

Anita wears a worried look |
Anita looks troubled by this.

"I'll do anything, Math . . ." |
Eifion is at APD, pleading with Mathew for a job; “I’ll do anything – I don’t care how hard or dirty it is –

“I’ll even make the boys tea and coffee. I wouldn’t ask unless I was desperate.”

"There's a spare fleece in the cupboard" |
Mathew seems to be quite easily persuaded and agrees, pointing out that there is a spare fleece in the cupboard;

"No moaning or slacking!" |
“But, Eifion, no moaning or slacking!” Eifion acknowledges that he is the boss and thanks him.
Jason and Tyler come in, advising that the van is loaded and everything is ready.

"You've already had one!" |
Jason is about to pick up one of the mince pies, but is reminded that he has already had one. Tyler warns, “I won’t buy them again if you’re going to fight over them.”
Jason is interested in why Tyler bought them; “What do you want?” The answer is that it is Christmas and they are busy.

Eifion also wants his mince pie |
Then Eifion comes back and tries to help himself to one of the mince pies.
“What’s he doing here?” Tyler demands, and is informed that he is working there.

"He was sacked from the Deri!" |
“You’re not serious? He was sacked from the Deri!” Jason adds that he was also sacked from APD, but Mathew tells them that he has made his decision.
“There’s enough work, and Eifion’s agreed to make us all a cup of tea. Right, Eifion, you’re out with me this morning, measuring a kitchen.”

"I'm staying here, running the place" |
Tyler smugly announces that he is staying there, running the place, and Eifion picks up one of the mince pies as he leaves. It is evident that Tyler still harbours a lot of hatred for Eifion.
He makes sure that they have left, then shuts the door and turns round the sign to read ‘CLOSED’.

Vicky and her son come in and call for Brynmor; “We’re leaving for London today, and I wanted to give you a present,” says Nicky.

Brynmor is surprised by this |
Brynmor is quite taken aback by this, as Nicky wants to make sure that the present fits him.

Brynmor finds that it is a T-shirt, emblazoned, ‘SUPER GRANDAD’, and is lost for words. He assures Nicky that he loves it, adding, “I got you something, but I haven’t had a chance to wrap it.”

Sioned and DJ are restocking the vending machines; DJ suggests, “What do you think of Dafydd as a name? We’ve agreed that it should be Welsh, and I thought it would suit because Dad’s David.”

She insists that it is rather early to discuss names, and that she should have the scan first.
“Sorry – I can’t wait to tell people,” he goes on, but Sioned forbids him to tell anyone;

then she explains that what she means is that she does not want to tell anyone just yet.

She attempts to pick up a box and feels rather strange, and a little lightheaded.

He tells her, “Go home – I’ll finish up here,”

and she is pleased to comply.

Anita discovers Ieuan eating lunch . . . |
At Bryntirion, Anita is surprised to see Ieuan tucking into his lunch, and he explains that he was showing a client around a nearby house and thought that he would call in for a snack.

“That was my sandwich – I was going to eat it before going back to work!” she scolds him.

"Jason and Kelly are not comfortable with our arrangement" |
Then she takes the opportunity to say, “I wanted to talk you about something – Jason and Kelly have been talking to me about us and our arrangement. They’re not comfortable with it any more – they think you’re taking advantage a little bit.”

Ieuan is horrified by this and insists that he would not want them to think of that; “I adore them – they’ve been so kind.”
Anita maintains that it is because they are so kind, they cannot tell him to his face. He is anxious not to upset anybody; “Do you think we should have a little break?”

Anita answers, “Not permanently – just so that you’re not here every day and every night – do you understand? After all, it is their home, not ours.”

At Maes-y-Deri, Brynmor is working on a T-shirt at the table when he hears footsteps, and attempts to cover up what he is doing. He is relieved to see that it is only Kath

Ieuan Griffiths is walking past the shop on his way to Tomos ac Ellis when he sees Kelly; “Is it all right to talk about our situation?” he asks,

“Yeah – well, yeah – extra cash is really useful,” she replies, rather confused, and attempts to walk away,

He fears that she does not like it, but she explains that she loves it, however she does not deserve it after the way she has treated him.

He points out that she was just looking out for Nicky, and he is so glad that he had the chance to get to know the boy; “He’s a great lad.”

“How long have you been there? What did you see?” he wants to know and quickly puts on his APD fleece. Anita replies that she has seen too much;

she is inquisitive about why he is half naked at work, and he is forced to admit that it is a sideline.

“I’ve got around 200 followers – I make these videos and people pay to watch them – it depends on what people want to see. Sometimes I stand there, sometimes I show them the guns.”

The mention of guns causes Anita some alarm, but he explains that he means ‘biceps’.

At this point Mathew comes in and asks what on earth the two of them are doing.

and Mathew demands why he is half naked. Tyler comes up with some weak excuse that he was hot; “It’s December!” Mathew growls, “Do you think I’m stupid, or what?”

Tyler does not have much choice but to confess that he was making a video;

“Of you two?” Mathew exclaims, very shocked. “Tyler, your clothes have got the company logo on them –

He insists that they are praising her, and reads what is said on the screen; “Discusses important and relevant issues,” but then lower down

she draws his attention to the part where she gets blamed; her boss informs her that she should have told them that she was going after the story.

Jason insists that she does not have to worry now, because she will not be working there any more.

Iolo and Eifion come in; “Oh yeah, here she is, enjoying herself in the Deri, while Howard’s scot-free,” Eifion moans, and ignores Iolo’s attempt to shut him up, “He’d be in jail if it wasn’t for her.”

Jason once again reminds him that it was not Kelly’s fault, but Eifion mutters that she did not help.

“All right for some, lying in bed all day, while some of us have to work,” he jokes, “How are you feeling?”

“I’m fine, DJ – stop fussing,” she answers, and he concludes that she is ‘hangry’;

he will see what food is available, anticipating there will be plenty of pies.

“I’m really sorry about earlier,” he begins, “I just wanted you to know that Anita had nothing to do with it.” Mathew cannot understand why he has done it, wondering if the pay is not enough for him.

“It’s just a bit extra for Christmas – Greta asked for some expensive stuff,” but he is warned not to hide behind Greta.

They rejoin the rest of the staff, who are picking names out of the hat;

A car horn outside announces that the taxi has arrived,

and they all leave the house, Vicky and Nicky for London, Kath and Brynmor for their cruise. Kath is anxious that they have their tickets and passports.

At Bryntirion, Anita hears Kelly coming in;

she asks if Griffiths is there, and Anita replies that he will not be there tonight. “Are you two all right?” Kelly enquires.

“He’s just decided to cool things down, that’s all,” Anita says, dismissively.

"He offered to pay rent because he's here so often" |
Kelly regards that as funny because she saw him today, and he offered to pay rent because he is there so often.

Anita imagines that he felt a bit guilty and that he was using their electricity with the time.

"Well, I've e-mailed my boss" |
Then she wants to know how things are with Kelly: “Well I’ve e-mailed my boss to organise a meeting to discuss my resignation” and Anita is pleased to hear that, and does not want her to put herself in danger like that ever again.

“I’ll miss it, though,” Kelly admits, “The work, that is.” Anita is sure that she will find something just as good, if not better.

but it is obvious that Kelly does not agree. Anita will make a cup of tea.

DJ has brought Sioned her meal and she has eaten it; she apologises for being moody; he says that he will have to get used to it. “I think you have got used to it,” she adds,

He will make sure she eats healthily and gets plenty of rest, but she urges him to do as she says; they can tell everyone when they are ready.
