Someone has left the tap running

A tap has been left running in the Deri flat and when Dani comes in, she finds the floor covered in water;  

"Marc, come in here!"

she shouts for Marc, “Quick – come in here!   Be careful – it’s slippery!   I have no idea what happened.”

"The tap must have been left on"

As he is a detective, he deduces that the tap must have been left on, 

"I've worked that out myself!"

and she snarls, “I’ve worked that out myself!”   He suggests that perhaps Tyler had a glass of water, 

"He had a blow on the head, remember"

reminding her that he has suffered a blow to the head.

Then Gabriel starts to scream, so Wilko tells her to go and attend to him, while he clears up, confident that no-one will know in the morning that anything has happened.   Meanwhile the baby is shouting even more lustily.

"The four of us should go for dinner in the Deri"

In the chip shop flat, Garry proposes that the four of them should go for dinner in the Deri, 

"I'm not sure about that, Garry"

but Colin is not sure about that.   “Is there a problem?   You said you like Andrea – there we are then – it will be good to go out,” Garry tells him.

Then Britt appears, wanting to know where Garry is going so early;  

"We're going for a walk to Carreg Cennen Castle"

“Andrea and I are going for a walk to Carreg Cennen Castle – we’ll see you later, OK?”   

"I'd better buy more bleach"

Britt asks Colin what is going on;  “Is Andrea staying over again?   I’d better buy some more bleach.”   

"Don't say silly things like that, Britt"

He urges her not to say silly things like that – especially in front of Andrea tonight, explaining that Garry is keen for the four of them to go out for dinner to the Deri.   “It will make Andrea feel more comfortable – clear the air,” he goes on, 

"We need to clear the air with her about"

and Britt emphasises that they need to clear the air with Andrea about.   

"Behave yourself tonight, please!"

“Behave yourself tonight, please!” he instructs her.

Tyler is writing in a notebook . . .

Tyler is busy writing in a notebook, and the water problem seems to have been resolved as Dani walks in;  

. . . listing people he wants to ask questions

she asks what he is doing.   “A list of people I want to ask some questions,” he answers, 

"This could be a big breakthrough"

“Don’t look at me like that – this could be a big breakthrough.”

"Let the police question people"

She pleads with him to let the police question people, but he points out that he has not heard from them.   

"I want to do things my way"

“Look, I want to do things my own way  – all right?”   She wonders if he slept well, 

"Did you get up in the night?"

and whether he woke up to go to the toilet or something, to which he replies that he had a glass of water;  “The drugs make me thirsty – why are you asking?   

"I think I shall go back home today"

“I’ve been thinking that I shall go back home today.”

Dani insists that he is not ready, and he wonders why she is acting so oddly;  “I’m worried about you,” she says, but he maintains there is no need to do so, as he is fine.

"Have you won the lottery or what?"

In the Deri, wearing her expensive fur coat, Anita asks Kelly what she fancies for lunch, as she is paying.   “Have you won the lottery or what?” Kelly demands, “Fancy coat – splashing out on lunch!”   

"I was only thinking of a sandwich"

Anita replies that she was only thinking of a sandwich, so Kelly chooses, “Cheese and ham toastie, please.”

"That coat's handy in this cold weather"

Ieuan Griffiths happens to come in, and Anita makes a point of ignoring him;  “That coat’s handy in this cold weather,” he comments, 

Kelly tries to suppress a snigger

which makes Kelly grin.   

Ieuan has a phone call

Then his phone sounds and he says, “Is everything all right?”   

"Why are you so weird with him?"

Kelly demands why her aunt is so weird with him;  “You’re blushing!” but is told that she is being ridiculous.

Tyler encounters . . .

Tyler is walking from the Deri towards number 7 

. . . Iolo, who is unloading books

when he encounters Iolo, who is helping his father unload books for Y Winllan.   

"How are you, Tyler?"

They look at each other and Siôn asks how Tyler is;  “I meant your head after the attack – not after you and Iolo . . .”   

"I'm ready to move back home"

Tyler announces that he is ready to move back home, which Siôn regards as good news.

"Will anyone else be living there?"

Iolo enquires if anyone else will be living at the house, but is told that it is none of his business.   “There’s no need to be like that – I’m sure you can still be friends,” Siôn insists.

"Have you got any boots?"

“Have you got any boots?” Tyler asks, which Siôn regards as a strange question, 

"I have some walking boots"

and says that he does have some walking boots.   

"You've lost a good man there"

“Look, I know that Iolo is my son, but you’ve lost a good man there,” he adds.   

"I thought you'd be happy"

Tyler imagined he would be very happy that they have separated;  “You’ve never liked me – and if you want to know the truth, Siôn, 

"I've never liked you, either!"

“I never liked you, either!” he snarls, before walking away.

"Hey, that's posh, Anita!"

Kath comes into the Deri, where Anita is at the bar, and remarks on her coat;  “Hey – that’s posh!”   

Anita tries to dismiss it as merely a coat, but she continues, “That cost a pretty penny, I’d say.”   Kelly intervenes to ask just how much it did cost, and Anita maintains that she cannot remember;  

"Weird, isn't it, that you don't remember?"

“Weird, isn’t it, that if you don’t remember, if you bought it, like?” muses Kelly.   Kath wonders where it came from, which is something else that Anita cannot remember.

"It can't be that posh then!"

“It can’t be that posh if you don’t remember the shop or what it cost,” is Kath’s logic.   

"A bargain on eBay, wasn't it?"

Griffiths cannot keep quiet any longer, and from his position at a table, suggests that it was a bargain on eBay.   

Anita glowers at him

Anita gives him a withering stare, so he retires to his seat, muttering his apologies.

"I regret wearing the flipping thing now!"

Anita is anxious for them to stop talking about the coat;  “I regret wearing the flipping thing now!”   Kelly is showing signs of amusement.

Ffion finds the flat empty

At Cysgod y Glyn, Ffion arrives home to find that Arwen and Jinx are not there;  she gets out her phone and calls Jinx.   

"Arwen hasn't got worse, has she?"

“Is Arwen all right?   She hasn’t got worse, has she?   You’re in the park?   She came home ill at lunchtime.   

"OK, fine – you go for a milkshake"

“OK, fine – you go for a milkshake, and I’ll see you later.”

"Ooh, good – gammon!"

As Britt and Colin sit at one end of the table in the Deri, Colin asks how the walk went this morning.   

"Nice to be out in the fresh air"

Andrea replies that it was rather cold but it was nice to be out in the fresh air.

"Yes, fresh air is important"

Of course, this is Britt’s cue to comment, “Yes, fresh air is important – 

"Iechyd da!"

“Iechyd Da!”  [good health] – is it all right to say that?”   Colin glowers at her.

She receives a message on her phone from Aaron;  

"Aaron's posting videos on YouTube"

“It’s another video – he’s posting videos on YouTube on all kinds of subjects – they’re good, too.”

"I'm glad he's started to wise up"

Garry is glad that he has starting to wise up, explaining to Andrea, “Aaron’s been through a difficult time.”   

"You didn't tell me about any videos"

Meanwhile Colin whispers to Britt that she did not tell him about any videos.   “Britt, send me a link to the video – I’ll take a look now,” says Garry.

She sends Garry a link

“Yeah, of course – no problem,” she answers, with a conspiratorial smile, while Colin looks very disapproving.

"You could read it in bed tonight . . ."

When Arwen and Jinx come back, Ffion points out the work that was done this afternoon in the lessons that Arwen missed;  “You could read it in bed tonight,” she suggests, 

". . . if you're well enough to play football with Jinx"

“If you’re well enough to play football with Jinx in the park.”

He protests that Arwen cannot help it if she is feeling better;  “That’s what kids do.”   Ffion decrees that in case the sore throat comes back, she should have an early night tonight;  however, Arwen declines to kiss her mother, 

"Can I have another story?"

instead asking Jinx if she can have another story.

“Story?   You haven’t had a story for a long time,” says Ffion, 

"We're in the middle of one"

but Jinx points out that they are in the middle of one, The Smart Spider, of which Ffion has never heard.

“That’s because I made it up,” he explains, 

"A spider that's also a policeman

and Arwen informs her mother that it is about a spider that is also a policeman.   

"I'll come and say goodnight"

Ffion will come to say good night to her in a few minutes, 

Ffion is not happy

and when they have gone, she looks decidedly put out.

Aaron's video

On the phone, they are watching as Aaron says, “There are people out there who are bringing their plague into our communities – 

“HIV, AIDS – that’s what they’ve got.   And they want to spread the disease as revenge.”

"We're leaving!"

Garry turns off the phone and tells Andrea that they are leaving;  “Please don’t go – we haven’t ordered food yet,” says Britt, and as they go, Colin demands why she did that.

"I'm sure it wasn't personal"

“Aaron’s allowed an opinion, isn’t he?   And I’m sure it wasn’t personal,” she insists.   

"I can't think of anything more personal!"

Andrea cannot think of anything that is more personal, and Garry agrees with her.

“Well, I didn’t make the video!” Britt snarls, 

"I agree with every word Aaron said!"

“But I’ll tell you one thing – I agree with every word Aaron said!”   Colin is disgusted.

"Who is on this list, then?"

Wilko asks Dani who is on Tyler’s list;  “Half the village, probably – 

"He's desperate to find out who did it"

“he’s desperate to find out whoever did it,” Dani tells him, but he replies that he should let the police do their work.   “That’s what I said, but he’s obsessed – and now he wants to move back home, but no way is he ready!”

"That might be a good idea"

Wilko thinks that may be a good idea, in order to help him forget what happened downstairs, 

"I don't like to think of him on his own"

but Dani does not like to think of him on his own.   

"I'll pop in now and again"

“I’ll keep an eye on him – pop in now and again,” he proposes, and Dani thanks him.

"You're spoiling her, Jinx . . ."

Ffion is worried;  “You’re spoiling her, Jinx – 

". . . she's never played tricks like that before"

“she’s never played tricks to come home from school before.”   He recalls that she said something rather strange earlier – that now her mother is head teacher, 

"She has to be careful what she does"

“she has to be careful what she does.”

He adds, “It’s not easy, is it – being the daughter of the headteacher?   It’s natural that your job will cause her problems sometimes – 

"She'll get used to it"

“but I wouldn’t worry, because she’ll get used to it.”

"She's sharing her problems with you, not me"

Ffion protests that she is not worried about that;  “But she’s sharing her problems with you, rather than me.”

"I can't stay long Anita",

Back at Bryntirion, Anita invites Ieuan in and offers him a glass of wine, but he says that he cannot stay long;  

"Why don't we tell people about us?"

“I’ve been thinking – why don’t we tell people about us?   It’s a good way of avoiding situations like in the Deri at lunchtime.”

"It's still early days yet"

Anita regards it as still early days, 

"There's no reason to hide things"

but he goes on, “Now that APD have the work, we have no reason to hide things.”   

"I quite like our little secret"

She quite likes their little secret, so he reluctantly agrees, “OK, if that’s what you want.”

Then his mobile phone sounds again, and he again gives an excuse that it was just no caller ID – 

"Someone trying to sell something"

someone trying to sell something.   He changes his mind and decides he will have that glass of wine after all.   The phone sounds again.

"What's this nonsense about people with HIV?"

It is dark when Garry returns to the chip shop, where Aaron is behind the counter, in a bad mood;  “What is this nonsense about people with HIV?” he demands, 

"It's not nonsense"

and is told that it is not nonsense, as Aaron has had loads of ‘likes’.

"You're making a fool of yourself!"

“You and your friends need to educate yourselves about HIV, instead of making fools of yourself!” Garry shouts.

"No – you're making a fool of yourself"

Not to be outdone, Aaron stresses that Garry is the one making a fool of himself, risking catching it from Andrea.   “Are you trying to be stupid?   

"She can't pass it on!"

“She can’t pass it on – she’s on tablets!” Garry rages, “And next time you see her, you’re going to apologise.   I expect you to show her more respect from now on – understand?   

"I accept you, even though you're a fascist"

“I accept you, even though you’re a fascist – did you think I didn’t know?   You’re my nephew – I’ll never turn my back on you – but I need you to accept Andrea.”

"That's a nice little Malbec"

As they sit at the table, Griffiths comments, “That’s a nice little Malbec, but I won’t have another one, as I’m driving.”   

Another call is rejected

His phone sounds yet again and he immediately silences it.

"I don't know why you took your coat off"

Anita does not know why he bothered taking his coat off, if he was only staying five minutes.   

"Considering you don't want anyone to know"

“You’re very needy, considering you don’t want anyone to know about us,” is his reply, 

"Punishing me now, are you?"

and she thinks that he is punishing her now because she does not want the world to know their business.

"You're being childish now"

“You’re being childish now!” he admonishes her, and the phone sounds once more.   

"So are you, not answering your phone!"

She accuses him being childish, not wanting to answer his phone, but he angrily stresses that they are nuisance calls.

“Where are you going now – home?   I could come with you,” she suggests.   He starts to make an excuse, so she abruptly tells him to forget it, and off goes the phone again.   

"It was work that time"

This time he says that it was work, but she does not believe a word he says;  

He cannot get out of the house quickly enough

“Tell me the truth – who’s phoning you?” she growls, but he is a great hurry to leave.   

"Don't come back, either!"

She shouts after him, “Don’t come back, either!” 

"Everything all right?"

and Kelly just happens to be listening.

"You know who he is – or who he was!"

Anita informs her, “Now you know who he is – or who he was!”

"Be careful round your mother"

In the chip shop flat, Colin warns Aaron to be careful around his mother;  “She’s a bit fragile – dinner in the Deri didn’t go well!”   

"Uncle Garry was angry with me"

Aaron reports to Britt that Uncle Garry was angry with him;  

"He wanted to educate me on HIV"

“He wanted to educate me on HIV – he said he can’t catch it because Andrea takes tablets every day.   How does he know she takes them every day, Mam?   He was angry about the HIV videos as well.”

"You know what he's like when he loses his temper"

“Ignore Garry – you know what he’s like when he loses his temper,” Britt tells him, 

"Perhaps we should tell Andrea he hit Sheryl"

and Aaron thinks that perhaps they should tell Andrea that he hit Sheryl, but she points out that was years ago.

"Do you want Garry seeing Andrea – yes or no?"

“Perhaps we should tell Andrea that she’s not safe with Garry – do you want Uncle Garry seeing Andrea – yes or no?”   She answers that of course she does not, 

"He will never dump her"

but he will never dump her, because he worships her.

"So that she dumps him"

Aaron concludes, “That’s it, then – we only have one option – telling Andrea about his history with Sheryl, so that she dumps him.”
