An effervescent headache remedy . . .

Gaynor is feeling the after-effects of all that wine, and drops a headache tablet into a glass of water;

. . . and Gaynor appears to need it

she appears very fragile as she walks across to the table and hears the sound of a message on the laptop.

She discovers something unpleasant on the laptop

When she looks at it, she is aghast at what it contains.

Iolo comes across Ryan's card

Iolo is doing some tidying up when he comes across the card left by Ryan;  as Tyler is coming downstairs, he puts it in his pocket.

They have been invited to the Deri this afternoon

“Dani’s asking if we want to go to the Deri this afternoon,” says Tyler and notices Iolo’s smart appearance.   “You’re looking fit,” he adds, “Right, I’ll go food shopping and then we’ll go to the Deri.”

Iolo has other things on his mind

As soon as he has gone, Iolo gets out his phone and rings the number on the card;

"That calendar – I'm willing to do it"

“Hiya, Ryan – look, about this calendar – I’m willing to do it.”

Griffiths returns to number 10

Jaclyn is folding the washing when Ieuan Griffiths turns up again;  “I haven’t had a chance to think about the singing business yet,” she tells him, but he has some news which might help to persuade her.

"I've got you a gig"

“I’ve got you a gig,” he says;

"I haven't decided whether I want to sing"

she replies that she has not even decided whether or not she wants to sing.

"Do this gig and see how you feel"

He continues, “Well, do this gig and see how you feel afterwards.   Just a short set at a party – but a gig is a gig.   You don’t have much time – it’s a bit short notice – it’s this afternoon – you are available, aren’t you?   It’s perfect – you don’t have time to overthink.”

"I don't know what I'm going to sing"

She protests that she does not know what she is going to sing and has not rehearsed;  he accuses her of looking for excuses, and explains that his friends are celebrating their wedding anniversary.

"It's a generous fee"

“The singer has pulled out – and it’s a generous fee,” he tempts her, “And you’d be saving their anniversary.”

"All right – what time?"

Jaclyn has been worn down by this and agrees that she will do it;  he says that she has until 2 o’clock, when he will pick her up.

"They're quite classy, mind"

He warns that they are quite classy, so she should wear a linen dress or a trouser suit.

She wonders how this will turn out

She wonders what she has let herself in for.

Eileen is concerned about the Twitter account

Eileen comes through the alley, looking with horror at something on her phone;  when she sees Ffion coming out of the shop, she says, “This Twitter account!”

"Everyone's talking about it"

Ffion’s reply is, “I got a text message last night in the school staff group – everyone’s talking about it.

"The things they said about mental health!"

“The message about Teleri James’ parents was bad enough – but the things they’ve said about mental health are terrible!”

"And alcoholism!"

Eileen adds that they have also mentioned alcoholism, and wonders who it is.

"People have been phoning Gaynor all morning"

Ffion does not have a clue;  “Parents have been phoning Gaynor all morning – poor thing, especially during the summer holiday.”

Eileen will contact the chair of governors

Eileen will contact the chair of governors and ask him to organise a meeting, because they need to discuss this as soon as possible.   Ffion declares, “They have to be punished!”

Iolo feels guilty . . .

In the kitchen at number 7, Iolo tries not to look guilty

. . . when Tyler returns with the shopping

when Tyler comes back with the shopping.

He invents a little old lady in Llanarthur

“You’re not going to believe this,” says Iolo, “A job’s just come in – she’s an old woman in Llanarthur, with dirty water coming up through the drains – sorry!”

"At least, you're helping the elderly"

Tyler is pleased that he is helping the elderly, and Iolo says that he had been looking forward to seeing Dani again;  “You go to the Deri now, and I’ll sort out the shopping.”

Gaynor walks along the street . . .

Gaynor comes out of the shop and is seen by Rhys,

. . . where she is accosted by Rhys

who calls to her;  “Are you on your way home?   I don’t know if you’ve seen them,

"There have been terrible comments made on Twitter!"

“but there have been terrible comments made on Twitter.”

"That's what I've been discussing all morning"

She answers that she has been discussing them all morning and is on her way to school to meet Teleri James’ parents.

"Something needs to be done!"

“Those messages are disgraceful – something needs to be done – they can’t mention the parents like that!” he insists, “Writing such things about mental health is doing real harm.   If pupils read that sort of thing . . .”

"I wish I had more control over it"

Gaynor points out that she wishes she had more control over the matter, but is unable to find who sent the messages.

"Perhaps the IP address could be tracked"

“There must be a way – perhaps the IP address could be tracked,” Rhys suggests,

"What's that?"

but this is way above Gaynor’s head.   “It would show where the tweets were posted,” he explains, “It’s worth a try.”

Ryan arrives at number 7

Ryan arrives at number 7 and says that Iolo looks very nice;  “I expect you’re nervous – don’t worry, it won’t take long,” he says as he unloads his photographic gear, “I’d say you’re very photogenic.”

"There are a few photos that would prove you wrong"

Iolo replies that his father has a couple of photos which would prove him wrong on that score, and invites Ryan to join him in a drink.

"You're a bad influence on me!"

“You’re a bad influence on me,” says Ryan, and Iolo enquires what exactly he is expected to do.

"I've got last year's rugby club calendar"

“I’ve got a calendar I did for a rugby club last year for you to take a look at,” Ryan tells him.

"Nearly as good as the last 24 hours!"

As the film ends at Y Felin, Siôn describes it as, “Great – nearly as good as the last 24 hours!”   Tesni thanks him for taking the day off to be with her,

"Well, it got rather late last night"

and he says, “Well, it got rather late last night, with everything.

"I'd better phone Jinx"

“I’d better phone Jinx and make sure everything is all right with the shop.

Tesni comments that Jinx is great,

"Do you want your old job back?"

but Siôn answers, “I know of somebody better – do you want your old job back?   It feels weird without you there.   I want to expand the stock a bit – to sell more crockery and Welsh posters – perhaps you could help with that.”

"Artificial flowers are very popular"

She suggests that artificial flowers are popular;  “People won’t mind paying a lot for them, either.”

"A good way to help the local economy"

He considers it a good way to help the local economy.

"We're a good team"

“We’re a good team,” she enthusiastically tells him.

"There's no need to be scared"

“It’s only a photo, so there’s no need to be scared,” says Ryan, as he sets up his equipment, “You’ll be amazing,” and he invites Iolo to have a look at the rugby calendar.

"The ball always covers everything"

“The ball always covers everything – but for the one we’re doing now, we’ll use the classical book of the month to cover everything.”

"These are naked!"

Iolo looks disgusted;  “These are naked!” he exclaims, and Ryan points out that of course they are.   “You said it was going to be a calendar of hunks – why do you think I’m dressed like this?” Iolo demands.

"It will be raising money for charity"

Ryan realises that Iolo has misunderstood, but emphasises that it is only a bit of fun and will be raising money for charity.

"It's a way of getting my clothes off!"

Iolo views it differently;  “It’s a way of getting my clothes off!   I know what your game is!   You must think I’m stupid!”

"So the answer's no?"

In answer to Ryan’s query, he replies, “I’m not going to do it!” so Ryan starts packing away all his stuff,

"And take your dirty calendar with you!"

as Iolo encourages him, “Yes, out you go – and take your dirty calendar with you!”

"Will you cover my shift tonight?"

In the Deri, Aled is sitting miserably, when Aaron asks if he will cover his shift, as he wants to go to Swansea tonight with his mates.   “Ah, life is so hard, isn’t it?” sneers Aled, “You just complain – you have no idea what real life is!”

"You're the one feeling sorry for yourself"

Aaron points out that Aled is the one who keeps feeling sorry for himself, just because his Dadi is in jail;

"My father was a serial killer"

“Pathetic!   My real father was a serial killer – Mam’s been in jail too, and she’s got bipolar, but you don’t see me acting the victim.   Get out of my way!”

Aled refuses to move . . .

When Aled refuses to move,

. . . and gets a thump for his trouble

Aaron viciously punches him, just as Dani comes in;

"What's going on here?"

she wants to know what is going on.

"You don't have to leave, Tesni"

Siôn tells Tesni that she does not have to leave, but she argues that she needs a shower and some clean clothes;  “Perhaps I could see you tonight,” she suggests,

"Unless you're bored with me"

“Unless you’re bored with me!”

"Nothing spicy this time"

“Come over about eight – I will make us some food, but nothing spicy this time,” he says,

"Why don't we go to the Deri?"

but she would fancy going out to the Deri.

Siôn is rather hesitant

He is rather reluctant about that,

"Let people believe what they want"

but she replies that they should let people believe what they want.

"Aren't you going to tell me what's going on?"

Dani is concerned that Aled and Aaron do not wish to say anything about their difference of opinion;

"It was his fault"

Aaron maintains, “It was his fault.   There’s nothing going on.”   She comes to the conclusion that Cwmderi is still full of drama,

"It's boring – there's nothing to do"

but Aled describes it as boring;  there is nothing else to do, but sit there, drinking.

"Go upstairs before someone sees you're back"

Aled advises her to go back upstairs before someone sees that she is back.

Jaclyn does not look happy

Jaclyn is back from her first gig, and certainly does not look very happy.   Ieuan asks what is the matter with her;

"You sang like a nightingale!"

“You’ve been very abrupt all the way back – the gig was great!   You sang like a nightingale!   Everybody loved you!”

"Why did you say I'd been shot?"

“Why did you say I’d been shot?” she demands, “People stared at me as if I was in a zoo!   You enjoyed telling them –

"The drug dealer's sister with a nice voice"

“the drug dealer’s sister with a nice voice!   How you think I felt?   I don’t want people to know.”

"It's nothing to be ashamed of"

He maintains that it is nothing to be ashamed of, but she insists, “I don’t want to be known for that.”   He reminds her that people on the X-factor all have sob stories,

"This is my life, not a story!"

and she shouts, “This is my life, not a story!”

He says that it is up to her, emphasising that once they knew more about her background, the tips came flying in.

"This contains £250"

He waves an envelope;  “This contains £250, which is not bad for a few hours’ work – and don’t tell me you didn’t enjoy singing today.”

Her objections seem to have melted away

Her expression changes when she hears about the money, which he puts down on the table,

"You were great today, Jaclyn"

assuring her that she was great today, and leaves the house.

"Dani is still jumpy"

Iolo is looking even more guilty now, as Tyler returns from the Deri flat, reporting that Dani is still jumpy.

Iolo goes overboard with the apologies

Iolo again apologises that he could not be there, alleging that the job in Llanarthur was straightforward, and stressing, “I want to be there for you when things like this happen.

"Dinner in the Deri – what do you say?"

“Let me make it up to you, with dinner in the Deri – what do you say?”

He tears the card in half

When Tyler has gone upstairs, Iolo picks up Ryan’s card, tears it in half,

We all know what happens to things put in the bin

and deposits it in the wastebasket.

Hywel studies the laptop . . .

Hywel is sitting in front of the laptop, deep in thought, when he discovers something which surprises him;

. . . and makes a startling discovery

“What the hell?” he mutters.

Siôn and Tesni arrive at the Deri

Siôn and Tesni walk into the Deri, and she comments, “See, it’s not that scary to be out together, is it?”

"What do you want to drink?"

and he asks what she wants to drink.

Tesni's public protestation

In a very public demonstration, she kisses him and asks for a white wine.   Garry has been a witness to this, and is asked for a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.

"How on earth do you do it, Siôn?"

“How on earth do you do it?” Garry demands, “Don’t take this the wrong way, but you – and her?”

Siôn has no idea

Siôn has no answer to that, and Garry wishes him good luck;

"You're more of a man than I thought"

“You’re more of a man than I thought you were!”

"Didn't expect to see you here, Dad"

Then Iolo and Tyler also come in;  Iolo did not expect to see his father there, but he says he did not fancy cooking tonight.   He tells the two of them to enjoy themselves,

He goes and joins Tesni

and walks across to where Tesni is waiting.

"What's going on there, Garry?"

Tyler asks Garry what is going on,

"Use your imagination!"

and is told to use his imagination;  “Did you know about this,” Tyler asks Iolo, who was aware there was something, but nothing official.

Hywel sits in front of the laptop

Hywel is sitting, grim-faced, in front of the laptop when Gaynor returns home,

"What a day I've had!"

complaining about what a day she has had;  “Who would think those tweets could cause such a mess?

"Teleri's parents came into school"

“Teleri James’ parents came into the school to talk about it.   They were heartbroken.”

"Is there something wrong, Hywel?"

She detects that something is wrong,

"What on earth have you done, Gaynor?"

and Hywel demands, “What on earth have you done, Gaynor?   I’ve found out that Twitter account’s IP address.  Everything is being sent from here!”

She tries to shift the blame

She simply says that it must be a mistake, or that it might have been Rhys.

"You could lose everything!"

“There’s no mistake – it’s all here in black and white – Llwyncelyn!   You did it – you have no idea what you’ve done!   You could lose everything!”

A chilling prospect for Gaynor

Now it is Gaynor’s turn to look grim.
