"How are things going in the boring bookshop world?"

Jinx meets Kelly in the street, asking him, “How are things going in the boring bookshop world?”   Outside APD, Jason is speaking to someone on the phone and happens to notice them talking, 

Then she notices Jason watching

so Kelly says she has to rush.

"Have I done something to upset you, Kelly?"

Jinx asks her, “Have I done something to upset you?   It’s like you’re trying to avoid me.”   

"I'm just stressed"

She gives the excuse that she is stressed, and had forgotten how anxiety-inducing it is, being a freelance writer.   He advises that she is not doing enough Sudoku, and Kelly recalls that she used to be obsessed with Sudoku.

"You were also obsessed with 'Breaking Bad'"

Jinx adds that she was also obsessed with watching ‘Breaking Bad’ 

"Keep it zipped – I haven't watched the last series"

and she realises she has not seen the last series;  

"It wasn't the same without you"

“Neither have I – it wasn’t the same without you,” he sighs, “Well, you know where I am if you want a chat.”

Jason keeps an eye on her . . 

She turns and continues along the street, as Jason finishes his phone call 

. . . as she goes into the shop

and watches her go into the shop.   

He is being tempted again

Then a message pops up on his phone;  “25% off your next bet.   Your stars are aligning, JFrancis123.”

"We're meeting around two"

At Penrhewl, Eileen enquires what time Anita is meeting her date and is told it is around two o’clock, although they do not have any firm plans.   “I’m a bag of nerves,” Anita admits, “I haven’t seen him in thirty years!”   

"He might look like Peter Stringfellow"

Eileen imagines that he might look like Peter Stringfellow.

"Have you seen that gate that Jinx painted?"

Sioned comes rushing in, demanding, “Have you seen that gate?   The one that Jinx painted?   It’s fuchsia pink – he hasn’t got a clue!”   

"I shall expect a full report tomorrow"

Eileen tells Anita that she should go home, and will be expected to give a full report tomorrow.

“I’ll send you a text if he’s got a ponytail!” she jokes as she leaves, 

"We need to have a word with Jinx"

then Sioned continues that they need to have a word with Jinx.

In the Deri, Izzy is just finishing her drink when her mother comes in;  

"I'm worried you're making a big mistake"

“Listen, I’ve been thinking – I’m worried that you’re making a big mistake, buying Hywel’s house.”

"You throw cold water on everything!"

Izzy laughs, “You can’t help but throw cold water on everything, can you?” her daughter demands.   

Gaynor reels off a list of alleged faults . . .

Gaynor goes on that the shower is leaking, and is not surprised that Hywel did not mention it.   Then there are the cracks in the walls and the place needs to be rewired.   

. . . and Izzy is becoming angry

Izzy is becoming angry.

“All I’m saying is, don’t expect any preferential treatment from Hywel – 

"I don't want you to waste your money"

“I don’t want you to waste your money, that’s all,” her mother alleges as Izzy leaves the pub, and the seeds of doubt have already been planted.

No success with the phone calls yet

Garry is still making phone calls in his attempts to locate Dani;  as he consults the address book, he comes to the name Louise Green.   

"More of a reason for Dani to hide there"

“I’ve never heard of her,” he tells Tyler, “More of a reason for Dani to hide there.”

He dials the number, “This is Garry Monk, Dani’s husband – I’m looking for her – 

"Tyler has had a car accident"

“the thing is her brother, Tyler, has had a car accident and I really need to talk to her.”   He is surprised that the call is abruptly ended, and comments, “She certainly didn’t want to talk to me!”

"That book may be out of date"

Tyler suggests that the book may be out of date, 

"It's the only thing we've got"

but Garry emphasises it is the only thing that they have got.   Then Tyler’s phone sounds with a call from an unknown number, and he turns it to ‘speaker’.   

"Ty, what's happened?   What's wrong?"

Dani’s voice can clearly be heard, “Ty, what’s happened?   What’s wrong?”

Garry is convinced that Louise Green is the answer to their problem and he makes a note of her address;  “It’s a gut feeling – we’re going!” he decides.

Anita waits for her date . . . 

At a table outside the Deri, Anita is waiting for her date 

. . . the extravagantly complimentary Mickey

and soon enough he arrives, telling her that she has not changed a bit, but he has a few more grey hairs than he had.   

She gets a disapproving look from Siôn

At that moment, Siôn comes out of the Deri with a couple of coffees, and looks disapprovingly at Anita.

"He's one of my exes"

Mickey wonders what that was all about and is informed that he is an ex of Anita’s;  “I think there’s something going on between him and her,” she says, 

Tesni is approaching Siôn 

as Tesni walks across the road towards Siôn.

“Isn’t he punching above his weight?” Mickey queries, 

"No, I mean you – not that bimbo there!"

then points out he was referring to Anita, rather than that bimbo along the road.   “What was the appeal?   The guy looks like Santa Claus!   

"Right, what do you want to drink?"

“Right, what do you want to drink?”   Anita asks for a gin and tonic.

"I know we're not supposed to speak in public"

Outside the bookshop, Tesni concedes, “I know we’re not supposed to speak in public, but I’m looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night.   Speak to you later.”

"Taken her under your wing, haven't you?"

He goes into the shop, where Jinx remarks, “I was watching you and Tesni there – you’ve taken her under your wing, haven’t you?   You’re a good example of a Christian.”   

"I'm a non-believer now"

Siôn now describes himself as a non-believer;  

"That's why you're not a vicar any more, then"

“That’s why you’re not a vicar any more, then,” Jinx realises.

Siôn points out that he still shares many of the values and misses supporting the community;  

"That may be why I opened this place"

“That might be why I opened this place.”   Then Ffion comes in, and he will fetch the book she wanted from out the back.

"I've been meaning to get in touch with you"

She has been meaning to get in touch with Jinx.   

"I went too far"

He admits that he went too far, but she confesses that he was right;  

"It's time for me to grow up"

“It’s time for me to grow up – will you give me a second chance, Jinx?   Arwen is lost without you – how would you feel about moving back in?”   

Jinx is undecided at the moment

He is undecided about this, and then Siôn returns, not being able to find the book for her – he will bring it over when it turns up.

"It's nice to see you two getting on again"

He adds, “It’s nice to see you two getting on again.   Arwen said the other day that she’s glad to have you back, Jinx.”   

"Think about what I said, Jinx"

Ffion urges Jinx to think about what she said.

Jason has won – this time

Jason discovers from his phone, which is making all kind of noises, that he has won £2,000 on Roulette;  

Kelly interrupts his gyrations . . .

this makes him ecstatic and he jumps for joy, just as Kelly walks into APD.   

. . . which she finds hilarious

She finds his antics rather amusing, and he improvises, “I’ve won a big contract for APD!   Things are going right for me – for once.”   

"You left this behind"

She has brought his lunchbox, which he left behind.

Jason is going to close early

“I was going to suggest that we lock up, close early and take you shopping for the rest of the afternoon – we could have a nice meal somewhere – to say sorry for being jealous of you and Jinx talking.”   

"Right, I'll go and get changed"

Kelly will go to get changed, 

"Why?   You look beautiful!"

but he protests, “Why?   You look beautiful!”

They arrive at Louise Green's home . . .

Garry and Tyler arrive at a house 

. . . just as Dani is preparing her getaway

where Dani is urging Gwern to hurry with the packing.   

"Dad!"

Then the boy suddenly notices his father and shouts, “Dad!” but Dani tells him to stop.   

She was not expecting to be found

She is very noticeably pregnant and looks extremely disappointed that she has been found.

"That time when you fell into the lido"

Anita and Mickey are reminiscing over old times, particularly the occasion when he fell into the lido;  

"You did fancy yourself as a bit of a Mick Jagger"

“You did fancy yourself as a bit of a Mick Jagger in that jacket,” she recalls, 

"But not as much as I fancied you!"

but he says that he fancied her a lot more.   “Mickey Phillips, you’re as big a flirt as ever!” she scolds him, and he would like to see her again.

"Women like you deserve to be spoiled"

He will go and fetch her another G&T, arguing, “Women like you deserve to be spoiled.”

Dani has been phoning round the hospitals

In the back garden of the house Dani complains, “I phoned Llanelli. Glangwili, Morrison [local hospitals] – I was starting to think you were in Cardiff, Tyler, with a brain injury!”   

"What other choice did we have?"

Garry wonders what other choice they had, and she shouts, “Leave us alone!”

“Did you see Gwern’s face – and Seren’s?   They missed me,” he replies, 

"They missed you when you disappeared!"

and she points out that they missed him when he disappeared as well.   He acknowledges that was his fault, but stresses that they had to make sure she was OK.

"Now you know I'm OK, you can go!"

“Well, now that you have, you can go and leave me alone – since when have you been such buddies, anyway?” she sneers, 

"We were worried, Dan"

and Tyler explains that they were worried.   She explains, “I had to hide – because Dylan said my life and the children’s lives were in danger, so I didn’t have a choice.   

"I caught a bus and came here"

“I trashed the flat, caught a bus and came here – somewhere no-one would think of.”

Garry concedes that she did a good job;  

"And if you hadn't taken the cash . . ."

“And if you hadn’t taken the cash, I really would have believed you’d been kidnapped.   We’re not going back without you.”   

"You'll have to go back without me"

Dani’s response is that they will have to, but he insists that with him and the cops protecting her, she will be safe;  she laughs scornfully as he continues, “You can’t live like this for ever – on the run.”

"Sorry for earlier, Ffion"

Jinx takes the missing book round to Ffion and apologises for earlier;  she says that she understands 

"I have turned a corner, Jinx"

but again insists, “I have turned a corner – and Arwen talks about you all the time.   She made that this morning.”

She indicates a card on the table, adding that Arwen will be back before long.

"I have packing to do"

“Right, I’d better go – I have packing to do,” says Jinx, 

Ffion is very happy . . . 

and Ffion’s face lights up with joy.   She promises not to use him as a live-in counsellor, and he warns that he will charge if she does.   

. . . and relieved

Ffion looks very relieved.

"Don't you think we should pay for a survey?"

In the shop flat, Izzy is worried;  “Don’t you think we should pay for a sensible survey?” she asks Mathew, “Before promising Hywel all that money?   

"It's cheaper than having to rewire the place"

“It’s cheaper than forking out to rewire the place.   

Mathew wonders where all this has come from

“Mam said that the shower is leaking as well, apparently.”

"Hywel wouldn't do that to us"

Mathew cannot believe that Hywel would do that to them, but she has her doubts, 

"Why don't we try to drop the price?"

proposing, “Why don’t we try to drop the price?   We’re struggling to get 170, anyway.”

Mathew points out that he gave Hywel his word;  “But what if Hywel is not being straight with us?” she whines, 

"I'll have a word with him later"

so he agrees to have a word with him later, but is not promising anything.

Anita has made a discovery

At Bryntirion, Anita is searching through a kitchen drawer for some aspirin, and comes across some strange-looking tablets.   Jason and Kelly have just returned from their shopping trip 

"Looks like Viagra to me!"

and she tells them, “They look like Viagra to me!”

"Dai must have forgotten them"

Jason immediately tries to shift the blame;  “Dai must have been fuming when he realised he’d forgotten his Viagra!”   Kelly warns her aunt that she should not be snooping through other people’s stuff.

"It happens to everyone sometimes"

“It happens to everyone sometimes,” Anita tries to calm the situation, 

Kelly tries to point out they are Jason's

and Kelly tries to indicate that the tablets are his.   “You’re under a lot of stress,” Anita goes on.   

"Will you shut up?"

Kelly shouts at her to shut up

An impromptu game of football

In the back garden, Garry and Gwern are kicking a football to each other;  

"This is the life you want for the children, is it?"

“This is the life you want for the children, is it?” Garry asks Dani, “How long do you think you can live like this?”

"We know Dani is safe"

Tyler is of the opinion that they should leave, now they know that Dani is safe, but he continues, “I won’t let anything happen to you.”   

"You can't promise that, Garry!"

She reminds him that he cannot promise that, and Tyler is obviously taking her side in the argument.

"The children need their father"

“You know that the children need their father,” Garry emphasises, and tells Tyler to be quiet.   

"All right – we will come home!"

Suddenly Dani appears to change her mind, and says that they will come home;  

"Gwern, come and get packing!"

she urges Gwern to come and get packing.   

"I hope you know what you're doing"

Tyler hopes that Garry knows what he is doing.

"I'm going to move back to Cysgod y Glyn"

When Jinx comes into the farmhouse, he tells them that he is having dinner with Ffion and Arwen;  “To be honest, I’m going to move back to Cysgod y Glyn – I hope you don’t mind – but I’ll see you tomorrow morning, at nine.”

"About the gate, you mean?"

Sioned announces that they need to make a couple of changes, and he assumes that this is about the gate;  

"When I told you to pick a colour . . ."

“When I told you to pick a colour . . .” Eileen begins, and he thought that it would be nice to have a jolly colour.   

She acknowledges that it is ‘jolly’;  

"But we're just a little bit more traditional"

“But we’re just a little bit more traditional,” points out Sioned.   

"So you don't want a purple tractor?"

He jokes that he has plans to paint the shed lime green, the tractor purple and the fence light blue, which he maintains would be lovely.

"I know I'm not much of a handyman"

“Don’t worry, I know I’m not much of a handyman,” he admits;  

"You'd make a great delivery driver"

Eileen considers that he would make a great delivery driver, and would be doing them a favour, as they cannot cope with all the orders.   

He is all in favour of that

He describes that as, “Great – talking to people, driving around the countryside – what could be better?”   

"It is all right to paint the car yellow?"

As he leaves the house he adds, “It’s all right to paint the car yellow, isn’t it?”

Jason has bought Kelly a present . . .

Jason is looking rather deflated, and informs Kelly that he bought her a present today while they were shopping;  

. . . to say sorry for giving her a hard time about Jinx

“To say sorry for giving you a hard time about Jinx.”   

"Oh, it's lush, Jase!"

She says that the chain is ‘lush’.

“The thing is I’m not sure if I’m wasting my time or not,” he groans, “I can see what you’re doing – you’re keeping your options open.   

"If the Viagra doesn't work, you can go back to your ex"

“If the Viagra doesn’t work, you can always go back to your ex.”

"You're paranoid, Jason!"

She describes him as, “Paranoid!”

Some time has elapsed . . .

Garry is tired of waiting for Dani and looks in through the windows at the back of the house;  

. . . and Garry is becoming suspicious

“They’re taking their time,” he moans, 

They go to the front of the house . . .

then proceeds to the front, 

. . . peering through windows . . .

where he peers in through the windows 

. . . and shouting through the letterbox

while Tyler shouts Dani’s name through the letterbox.   

'Hard Man' Garry Monk has been hoodwinked

They come to the conclusion that Dani and the children have gone.
