Dylan is taking it easy |
![]() |
"It's a bit risky with Dani upstairs" |
“It’s a bit risky here, with Dani upstairs, isn’t it?” says Dylan,
![]() |
"She's out for the day" |
but he is told that she is out for the day, not that it is any of Dylan’s business. “I just don’t want her to get hurt,” Dylan adds.
![]() |
The money is handed over |
Garry throws down the bulging envelope on the table, and after Dylan checks that there is actually cash inside it this time, he is thanked;
![]() |
"You're welcome" |
“You’re welcome,” is the rather insincere reply, and Garry goes back inside.
![]() |
Dylan thinks it is all going his way |
Dylan is looking quite pleased with himself.
![]() |
"Are you angry with me?" |
Inside the pub, Jaclyn is waiting anxiously; Garry tells her that the matter is sorted, and she is very grateful. “Are you are angry with me?” she asks, and he says that he is not, but is angry with her brother.
![]() |
"I've just given £10,000 to someone, and I'm not quite sure why" |
“I’m confused,” he goes on, “I’ve just given £10,000 to someone I pretty much hate and I’m not quite sure why.” Jaclyn apologises for dragging him into this
![]() |
"I'll pay back every penny" |
and rather unrealistically promises to repay every penny.
![]() |
"Is it him and Daf dealing drugs?" |
Garry continues, “What is it with him? I know he’s involved in something dodgy – I heard you arguing a few months ago. You said he should be in prison. Is it him and Daf who are dealing drugs around here? That’s what I think.”
She assures him that although he is no angel and she cannot keep an eye on him all the time, it is not drugs; “You know that family comes first,
![]() |
"I can't say anything else" |
“so I hope you can respect the fact that I can’t say anything else.”
![]() |
Garry laughs |
Garry laughs, and she adds, “Unless the reason you started whatever this is was to get information on Dylan.”
![]() |
Jaclyn intends to walk out |
He looks at her suspiciously and she turns to leave the Deri.
“So you’re going back to Gerwyn?” he scoffs, and she shouts that she is not sure where she is going.
![]() |
"I'm not using you, Jacs" |
“I’m not using you!” he declares, and she stops;
![]() |
"The best thing is never to mention your brother again" |
“I think the best thing for us to do, now that he’s got the money, is to agree never to discuss your brother again.”
![]() |
That sounds pretty fair to Jaclyn |
Jaclyn agrees to this, and he wonders whether she is going to stay.
![]() |
The Jones's boiler is on the blink again |
At Maes-y-Deri, the boiler is not producing any hot water, which infuriates Kath; “Having to fork out for a plumber is the last thing I need,” she grumbles,
![]() |
Aled comes into the room |
and at that moment Aled comes into the room.
Tyler says that he will see Aled tonight, and introduces him to Kath;
![]() |
"Oh – the posh smoked salmon guy" |
“Oh right – this is the posh smoked salmon guy!” she replies, “Have we met before? Your face looks familiar, that’s all.”
![]() |
"I've got a generic face" |
Aled tells her a lot of people say that; “I’ve got a generic face,” and as he leaves the house, Kath looks rather puzzled.
![]() |
"So you're serious, then?" |
![]() |
"Put it this way – it's not casual" |
Tyler tells her, “Put it this way – it’s not casual.”
![]() |
"Sorry, there's no hot water" |
Then he is informed that there is no hot water for a shower, but she will boil a kettle for the bath.
![]() |
"I've got all of it" |
As Dylan comes out of Tapas, he is leaving a message for Daf on his phone; “I’ve got all of it,” he says proudly, “Let me know where and when you want to meet – I’m free all day.”
![]() |
What's that – a sawn-off baseball bat? |
He walks across the road, not noticing a black Volkswagen parked nearby, out of which emerges Daf, who is carrying what appears to be a wooden chair leg, and who follows Dylan.
![]() |
I'm not your usual type, am I?" |
In the Deri, Jaclyn comments, “I’m not your usual type, am I? Why don’t you go for a younger woman who’s more fun?”
He jokes, “Prettier, less baggage?” then reassures her,
![]() |
"You're the one I like, Jac" |
“You are pretty and you’re fun – and you’re the one I like, anyway. Jac, if you’re not sure about this, just say. I’ll be gutted but I’ll understand.”
![]() |
She wants to escape from the family |
“Do you know what I really want?” she answers, “To escape from here – Ger, Dyl and the kids. I know it sounds selfish, but I haven’t had a break for eighteen years.” He asks if she could go anywhere in the world, where would she choose.
![]() |
"I've always fancied a penthouse on Fifth Avenue" |
Without any hesitation she says, “New York – I’ve always fancied a penthouse on Fifth Avenue. There’s more to me than raising kids and being a cook.”
![]() |
"You're a dark horse, aren't you?" |
Garry describes her as a dark horse, and she mutters, “When I want to be.”
![]() |
"You deserve to be happy" |
He says he is looking forward to the opportunity of taking her there – some day – and tells her she deserves to be happy.
![]() |
"Nobody's said that to me before" |
“Nobody’s said that to me before,” she observes, but he is adamant that he means it.
![]() |
Jaclyn is only bolting the door this time |
Again she walks in the direction of the door, and Garry looks worried, but this time it is to bolt it.
![]() |
Hot water is flowing again |
Iolo’s voice from upstairs instructs Kath to try the water now, and she is pleased to see that it is coming through hot; she asks him how much she owes,

"It's a favour for a friend" |
but he tells her to forget about it, and look on it as a favour for a friend.
![]() |
"Tyler's out for the day, is he?" |
“Tyler’s out for the day, is he?” he enquires, and is told that he and Mark are cleaning windows;
![]() |
"They've got a good contract at Cwrtmynach" |
they have a good contract in the Business Park at Cwrtmynach. Kath reports that they are enjoying it, and Iolo is glad that Tyler is happy.
![]() |
"And now he's got this new bloke . . ." |
“And he’s even happier now that he’s got this new bloke,” she goes on, which comes as a surprise to Iolo; “Didn’t you know? He said they were serious, so I thought he would have told you.”
![]() |
"We have to move on at some point" |
Iolo admits that he knew nothing about it, but accepts that they had to move on at some point.
Kath continues, “Well, ‘it’s not casual’ were his exact words,” and Iolo asks if she has actually met him. “Yes, this morning – he seemed like a nice guy – I’m sure I’ve seen his face before.
![]() |
"What was his name? Yes – Aled" |
“What was his name – Alec? No – Aled!”
![]() |
Iolo is in a desperate hurry to go |
Suddenly, Iolo is in a great hurry to leave, alleging that he has to pick up Greta from his father’s.
![]() |
"Looks like I've put my foot in it!" |
Kath is afraid that she has put her foot in it.
![]() |
Dylan has evidently been on the receiving end of the chair leg |
Next, we see Dylan, writhing in pain on the ground in the back street; apparently he has been attacked with the chair leg,
![]() |
"Do you want some more?" |
and Daf asks if he wants some more. Dylan reaches into his pocket and throws the envelope of money towards Daf, assuring came that it is all there.
![]() |
"Nobody does this to me!" |
After picking it up and checking, Daf rages, “I’ve been waiting for this for weeks – nobody does this to me!”
![]() |
Here comes the long arm of the law |
Dylan explains that it is merely a misunderstanding, but DJ accuses Daf of half killing him. “He slept with my wife,” Daf improvises, “I warned him to stay away but he didn’t listen.”
![]() |
"You're blackmailing him, too?" |
DJ has not missed the envelope of money and says, “You’re blackmailing him too? Blackmail is a serious crime – not to mention ABH!” Dylan sits on the ground, in considerable pain, but makes no comment.
![]() |
"We've got a job over at St Clears" |

![]() |
"I might have put my foot in it with Iolo" |
She tells him to hang on for a moment; “Listen, I might have put my foot in it earlier with Iolo – we were just discussing how happy you are these days, and I said it might be down to this new bloke you’ve got.”
![]() |
"Kath, did you have to open your big mouth?" |
Tyler dreads what is coming next, that she revealed his name; “Kath, did you have to open your big mouth?” he demands,

"You're both free to see who you want" |
but she insists that they are both free to see whoever they want.
![]() |
"He was the school pupil" |
“Anyone apart from Aled!” he explains, “He was the school pupil.”

A sweetener is offered to DJ |
Daf offers DJ some of the money; “You can have this – a sweetener to make sure you keep quiet,”
![]() |
"Take it, DJ" |
and Dylan encourages him to take it.
![]() |
He is going to arrest Daf . . . |
DJ refuses, announcing that he will be arresting Daf for blackmail and ABH.
Daf is quite confident that will not happen;
![]() |
. . . but Daf has other ideas |
“You’re not going to tell anyone about this because it’s none of their business.” After looking first at Dylan and then Daf, DJ agrees to comply with this requirement.
“All right, we understand each other, then,” says Daf, then looking at Dylan, adds, “I hope we do, too. Stay away from my wife or it will be your kneecaps next time!”
![]() |
Daf walks away, a free man |
He walks away along the street and Dylan subsides to a crouching position.
“I’ll phone the station – he can’t do this,” DJ insists,
![]() |
"This is nothing compared with what he'll do to you!" |
but Dylan warns that it is nothing compared with what Daf will do to him.
“He’ll kill you if you phone your mates, OK? I’m serious – he’ll go after your family as well. Listen, DJ, that guy’s dangerous – just leave it, or Dai and Diane will suffer.
![]() |
"How are you going to explain this to Sara?" |
This seems to hit home with DJ, but he wants to take Dylan to the hospital to get checked out; “How are you going to explain this to people? To Sara?”

"I'll say there was a burglary at Tapas" |

Cassie is worried about Garry's wellbeing . . . |
There is a frantic and repeated knocking on the door of the Deri, and Garry hurries downstairs, still doing up his shirt, to admit Cassie; he asks her what is wrong. “I’m checking up on you – I saw Dylan, who said there’s been a burglary at Tapas.

![]() |
"Kath told you about Aled" |
When he arrives outside number 7 in his van, Iolo finds that Tyler is waiting for him; “I wanted to check that you’re OK – Kath said she told you about Aled. I don’t know how it happened – we saw each other on Grindr, sent messages and I agreed to meet him. I was worried about him – I wanted to see how he was.”
![]() |
"I made the right decision about us" |
Iolo realises, “So I was right all along about you and him – I made the right decision about us! Good luck to you – feeling sorry for someone isn’t a basis for a relationship.”
![]() |
"I think I love him, Iol" |
Tyler points out that it is not that; “I think I love him.”
![]() |
"You're serious, aren't you?" |
Iolo laughs and cannot believe that he is serious. “It would be nice if you could support me with this,” Tyler continues,

![]() |
"That was ages ago" |
but Garry points out that was ages ago, and that she does not understand. “Oh, I understand this more than you know – is this a fling, or does she mean more to you than that?” Cassie goes on.
![]() |
"I'd really appreciate it, Cass . . ." |
Garry answers that it is complicated, and he would really appreciate it . . .
![]() |
"If I kept my mouth shut?" |
“If I kept my mouth shut?” she completes the sentence for him. He knows that he has got a lot to lose, and she warns, “You should have thought about that before having an affair!”
![]() |

Tyler is back at Maes-y-Deri, with Kath lecturing him, “Whatever Aled went through, it’s no excuse for kidnapping Greta.”
