3 December 2025

Anita is having a doze

Anita is listening to music on her headphones

Ieuan brings Kelly a drink

and Ieuan brings a drink to Kelly, apologising about last night.

"Ieuan – not exactly ideal!"

“Ieuan,” she says, “Not exactly ideal – you coming back in the early hours, smashed and waxing lyrical about some long-lost grand-daughter.   Excuse me – you know what?   I’m on my knees, like – what with Anita not sleeping, you and your ramblings – I’ve got to go to the cash and carry later.”

"So you're reopening Y March Gwyn?"

Ieuan assumes that she is reopening Y March Gwyn;

"You're doing the night shift – got it?"

she sternly warns him, “You’re doing the nightshift tonight – got it?”

"Is it Siwsi?"

There is a knock at the door and Kelly gets up to answer it;  Anita bursts into life, shouting, “Is it Siwsi?”

It is Indeg, plus bags

but in fact, it is Indeg, carrying several bags.

“You’re Kelly, are you?” she asks as she comes in, “I’m Indi,” and she attempts to hug Kelly, which does not go down well.

Anita is very disappointed;  “That’s not Siwsi!   Where’s Siwsi?”

"What are you doing here?"

Ieuan demands what his granddaughter is doing there,

"It was your idea"

but she tells him that it was his idea and has brought some croissants for everyone to say hello and thanks.

"Who are you – and what have you done with Siwsi?"

Anita simply wants to know, “Who are you and what have you done with Siwsi?”

"Why all the luggage?"

Kelly gets to the point, demanding why Indeg is carrying all this luggage

Ieuan remains silent

and looks at Ieuan for an answer.

Colin checks off his list

In the Deri, Colin is checking off his list with Ffion;  “What about the balloons and the feather boas?   Have they been delivered?”   Ffion replies that they have not been yet, but he insists that they cannot have a party without them.

"They're coming later today"

She assures him that they are arriving between ten and midday and that he should not panic.

"I want everything to be perfect for Gaynor"

“I just want everything to be perfect for Gaynor,” he continues;  Cassie is confident that they will be.   Then he tells them that Britt is still snoring after their big night last night;

Did you hear about Eileen?"

“Did you hear about Eileen?” he asks Ffion, “She had a fling with some Beaujolais bloke behind Siôn’s back, poor dab.”

Ffion is off to school

Ffion is already late for school, so leaves them;

"Hope she's in a better mod tonight"

Colin hopes that she is in a better mood by tonight, because he does not want her to spoil things for Gaynor.

Tom is writing cards

When Gaynor walks into the room, Tom is preparing some invitation cards;

"I need to rest after that mini stroke"

“The perfect task for me, as I need to rest after that mini stroke.”   As we’ve both got the day off, I thought we could go to the Glyndwr for the last time before the wedding to make sure everything’s . . .”

"Is everything all right, Gaynor?"

He stops and looks at the expression on Gaynor's face, wondering if everything is all right.

"Did you kill Cheryl?"

“Did you kill Cheryl?” she asks,

"And I want the truth"

“And I want the truth,” as she holds up the broken piece of glass.   He knows exactly where that came from.

Siôn gazes into space

At Y Felin, Siôn is sitting with his laptop, gazing vacantly into space;

"How long is the angry old man going to sulk?"

Cai asks Iolo, “How long is the angry old man going to hide here, sulking, then?”
"Oh, he's writing poetry"

He picks up a piece of paper and goes on, “Oh, he’s writing poetry – it must be serious.”

"The wine man came . . ."

He reads, “The wine man came and poured his magic over her,

Closing the door on one who was so eager for her.”

Iolo consider the first line rather dodgy,

"I'm trying to concentrate here"

but they are interrupted by Siôn, who points out that he is trying to concentrate.   Cai proposes that he ought to go out to talk to Eileen instead of wasting his time writing poetry.

"It's therapy – you should understand that"

“It’s not a waste of time – it’s therapy – you, of all people, should understand the importance of that,” Siôn scolds him.   Iolo is worried about his father, wondering if he slept at all last night.

"I had to get all these emotions out"

“I couldn’t – I had to get all of these emotions out,” is the reply, “But now I have finished The Unfaithful Poems.   Perhaps some good will come of all this after all, because I’ve sent them in to the chair competition at the Llanarthur Eisteddfod.”

"You weren't answering your phone"

There is a knock at the door and Eileen comes in; “You weren’t answering your phone so I thought I’d come over,” she says.

Iolo and Cleave them to it

Iolo suggests that he and Cai ought to make themselves scarce, so they both leave the house.

"I remember you confessing everything"

Gaynor goes on, “The more I think about it, the more I remember you sitting there, confessing everything.”

"Can you hear the words coming out of your mouth?"

“Can you hear the words coming out of your mouth?” he protests,

"You threw that on the floor"

but she draws his attention to the snow globe, which he threw to the floor.

"You made me think I'm losing my mind"

“You’ve been trying to make me think that I’m losing my mind,” she exclaims, but he says that he cannot understand how she can accuse him of those things.

"I'm the one who protects you"

“I’m the one who protects you more than anyone in the world – who loves you, who supports you through everything!”   Gaynor just needs to know the truth,

"You just want to hurt me!"

but he accuses her of wanting to hurt him – and if that is what she is trying to do, she is succeeding.

"There's something seriously wrong with you"

“You need help – there’s something serious wrong with you!”   So saying, he walks away.

"You had forgiven me . . ."

Back at Y Felin, Eileen cannot understand, pointing out, “You’d forgiven me before you found that Bedwyr was the bloke.”

"Forgiving you was a mistake"

Siôn maintains that forgiving her was a mistake;  “I deserved better than you making a fool of me in front of my friends!”

"I'm so sorry, Siôn"

She agrees and whines that she is so sorry, but reminds him that he said he did not want to hear about the details.   She maintains that now he is angry because his ego has suffered a blow, knowing that she has slept with someone he knows.

"Why did you go looking for someone else?"

“I was angry before I knew who he was – why did you go looking for someone else?” Siôn demands.

"He said the things I wanted to hear"

She answers that Bedwyr said the things she wanted to hear;  “Our relationship has become so serious so quickly – don’t you think we’ve lost a bit of the excitement?   Do you fancy me at all?”

"I find you a very attractive woman"

He assures her that he does and finds her a very attractive woman,

"You're the one I want, Siôn"

while she in turn stresses that he is the one that she wants,

Siôn looks doubtful

but he looks rather dubious about that.

"Why did you invite her here?"

Kelly is furious;  “I just can’t understand why you invited her here – I said you were smashed, didn’t I?”

"It will only be for a couple of nights"

Ieuan tries to placate her, insisting that it will only be for a couple of nights.

"Tycs, you're a life-saver!"

Indeg comes downstairs, telling Ieuan, “Tycs, you’re a lifesaver – I won’t take up much space, but I need to study for the NVQ.   My tutor thinks I’m going to wing it, but I’m going to prove him wrong.   Look at the Insta shots of the avante-gard styles I’ve done – think Lady Gaga.”

"Avant-garde, is it?"

Kelly mutters, “Avante-gard, is it?”

“Hang on, you've got amazing potential with that hair, Kels,” Indeg squeals, “I might have time to give you a makeover while I’m here.”

"No, thanks!"

“No thanks!” is Kelly’s curt response.

"Who's she?"

Anita asks who the girl is, so Indeg shows her the picture on her phone,

Anita is scared

causing Anita some alarm.   Ieuan explains that this is his grand-daughter,

"Is it all right to call you 'Nana'?"

who wonders if it is all right to call her ‘Nana’.

"Nah!   Nah!"

Anita angrily replies, “Nah, nah!”

"Go and make us a cup of tea"

Ieuan shepherds Indeg into the kitchen to make a cup of tea while Anita again protests, “I want Siwsi!”

Gaynor sits in the garden, thinking

Gaynor is sitting out in the garden when Tom comes to join her;  he is in apologetic mood,

"I'm just worried about you"

telling her that he is sorry for getting angry with her earlier, but he is just worried about her.

"Do you honestly think I'd go to that bother?"

“Do you honestly think I would go to the trouble of buying a new globe snow globe just to mess with your head?”

She agrees with him

Yet again Gaynor is under the impression that she is wrong, as he continues, “What hurts the most is that you think I’d want to mess with your head.

"You're ill, Gaynor"

“You’re ill, Gaynor – that’s the only explanation for these hallucinations.   There’s no stigma surrounding mental health these days – you know that, don’t you?”

"I'll sort this out"

She agrees that she will sort this out, but he goes on, “And I understand why you would think drinking too much alcohol is at the heart of all this –

"It's more than that, isn't it"

“but it’s more than that, isn’t it?”

"Give me a chance to sort my head out"

She begs him to give her a chance to sort her head out, and he suggests that they should both go back into the house, as she needs to prepare for this hen party.

"I don't feel like celebrating"

However, she does not feel like going now – she does not feel like celebrating.

Tom insists that it is her hen party and she cannot cancel it;

"I'll go to the house in a minute"

she agrees that she will come back to the house in a minute,

Gaynor is left with her thoughts

so he leaves without her.

"It gives you fab light, you see"

Indeg explains to her grandfather, “It give you a fab light, you see, for videos.   You don't mind me doing a couple of vids and reels, do you?   Not for my NVQs – more to keep my followers sweet.   And a few parcels will arrive for me as well – free samples of products – I literally get loads!”

"How long do you intend staying?"

Ieuan broaches the subject, “How long do you intend staying, then?”

"Fate has thrown us together"

Instead of answering the question, Indeg simply continues. “You know, it’s so lush that fate has thrown us together like this – a chance to get to know Tycs, isn’t it?”

"Do you ever talk to your Grandmother?"

He asks if she ever talks to her grandmother, but once again she changes the subject,

"Your whiskers could do with a good trim"

suggesting that his whiskers could do with a good trim.   “I’ll do your ears and nose as well, no worries.”

Anita comes downstairs, proceeded by Kelly;

"Why is she still there?"

her first words are, “Why is she still here?”

"Ieuan – kitchen, now!"

When Kelly has settled Auntie Anita in her chair, she summons Ieuan to the kitchen.

"Right – not acceptable, OK?"

“Right – not acceptable, OK?   Granddaughter or not, she’s totally wrecked Auntie Anita’s routine in one single morning.”   He tries to answer, but she stops him,

"She'll have to find somewhere else to stay"

“No, she’ll have to find somewhere else to stay.”

"Don't you touch me!"

Then we hear Anita’s anguished voice calling for Kelly;  “Don’t you touch me!”

"I was saying how beautiful her hair is"

Indeg protests that she was only saying how beautiful Anita’s hair is.   “I don’t like anyone touching my hair, Kelly!” Anita shouts.

"Ieuan – get her out of here . . ."

Kelly instructs Ieuan, “Get her out of here,

". . . now!"

“now!” so he and Indeg make a hasty exit.

"I'm still going to fight for us"

Eileen continues, “Even if you can’t forgive me for a while, I’m still going to fight for us.   You know how to fight as well, don’t you?

"I want you to believe in us"

“Especially when you really believe in something – and I want you to believe in us.”

Siôn remains silent

Siôn does not reply,

"Right, I'll go now"

so she is about to leave, but, as she heads for the door,

"Eileen, it's not going to be easy . . ."

he says, “Eileen, it’s not going to be easy – but perhaps, in time . . .”

Iolo and Cai are back

Then the door bursts open as Iolo and Cai return.

"You're being civil, at least"

Eileen walks out, with Iolo pleased that the two of them are being civil at least.   Siôn replies that they have had an honest and constructive discussion –

"Christmas miracle"

they are going to try and work through all this.   Cai describes it as a Christmas miracle.

"It's some kind of dementia"

Ieuan and Indeg have retired to the deli, where he explains that it is a kind of dementia, but is complicated.   Indeg is very sorry, describing it as an awful illness.   “I have styled the hair of women with dementia on my course.

"I was slow on the uptake"

I was slow on the uptake, but I should have spotted it – but Anita is so beautiful and so young – I never thought.”

"It's hard to accept sometimes"

Ieuan sighs that it is hard to accept it sometimes,

Another call from Hazel

but then Indeg’s phone sounds and she sees that it is from her grandmother who it appears already has made eight missed calls.

Ieuan comments that she is popular,

"You're the important one now"

but she insists that the calls are not as important as he is;  “You’re the important one now.”

"Who is Tom's celebrity crush?"

At the hen night, Colin, the master of ceremonies, is reading out the answer to the questions, the first of which is, “The toilets at the racecourse.   Next question, who is Tom’s celebrity crush?”

Jennifer Aniston is wrong

Gaynor suggests Jennifer Aniston, but the correct answer is Julia Roberts.

"Do you actually know the bloke you're marrying?"

Colin comments, “Do you actually know the bloke you’re marrying?   Next question – what is his favourite food?”   Gaynor guesses at risotto, but apparently the correct answer is fish and chips with mushy peas.”

Then they reach the final question;  “How many tattoos does Tom have?”

"Two"

Ffion who is leaning on the bar, with Cassie nearby, mutters, “Two,”

"On his shoulder and thigh"

while Gaynor says there is one on the top of his shoulder and one on his thigh.   She has evidently scored 12 out of 20.

"Thank goodness that's over"

Ffion turns round and remarks to Cassie, “Thank goodness that game’s over.”

"I'm going home now"

Gaynor has had enough, saying that she is going home now,

"There are a couple more games yet"

although she is advised there are a couple more games yet.   That is apparently what is worrying Gaynor.

"You're drinking again, then?

Ffion notices that she is drinking again, quickly adding  “Not that I’m judging.”   Gaynor insists that it is only one now and again,

"I have it under control"

but she has it under control.   She says she has enjoyed the evening, but refuses the invitation to stay for a while.   She maintains that she does not like being the centre of all the attention.

"Do you think something's going on with Gaynor?"

“I don’t know if it’s just me, but do you think something’s going on with Gaynor?” says Cassie, “She looks a bit nervous.”

"Probably all the wedding arrangements"

Ffion simply puts it down to all the wedding arrangements.   “I’d be nervous if I was marrying him,” Cassie adds.

"How do you know he has a tattoo in his thigh?"

Then she goes on, “How did you know he had a tattoo on his thigh?”

"He told me"

Ffion maintains that he told her he had an accident as a little boy and had a tattoo to hide the scar.

"Is there something between you and Tom?"

“I’m not stupid,” Cassie continues, “Is there something going on between you and Tom?”

Ffion vehemently denies it,

"I always thought he was a womaniser"

but Cassie suggests, “Perhaps that’s why Gaynor is so worried – I’ve always thought that he was a womaniser.”

Again, Ffion insists that there is nothing going on and tells Cassie to leave it, but she does not look as if she intends to do that.

"I  was 't expecting you yet"

Tom is reading a book when Gaynor comes home, surprised that she is so early;  “We have been going since four o’clock,” she replies, “And I told Colin I didn’t want to do anything wild.”

"Come and sit down"

Tom instructs her to come and sit down;

"There's something wrong with me"

“You’re right, Tom – there’s something wrong with me – I need help – I need to go and see the doctor.   I thought you’d be pleased.”

"See someone after the wedding"

He suggests, Why don’t you go and see someone after the wedding?   We’ve got so much to do between now and the big day.”

"I want to be right for the wedding"

Gaynor argues that she wants to be right for the wedding;

"You will be – if I look after you properly"

“he assures her that she will be – if he looks after her properly.

"She's my grand-daughter, Indeg"

Ieuan brings Anita her bedtime drink and asks her to try and understand;  “Nobody’s come to take Siwsi’s place – she’s my grand-daughter, Indeg.”

"And you like her, do you?"

“And you like her, do you?” Anita asks.   He replies that he does, a lot,

"You cam come in now, Indeg"

then summons Indeg from the kitchen.

"I'm sorry for being so pushy"

She apologises for being so pushy and would like them to start again;  “It would make Tycs and me very happy.”

"I'm going to bed now"

Anita agrees and says that she is going to bed now.

"Please will you stop phoning?

They go upstairs and immediately Indeg gets out her phone to make a call.   “OK, but I’ve been really busy all day in work, so, please, will you stop phoning?   I’m fine – and I’ve said that I’ll sort everything,

"Give me a break and chill!"

“so just give me a break and chill.   I have to go!”

"Everything all right?"

Ieuan come downstairs to ask her if everything is all right,

"Yes, totally peachy"

to which she replies that everything is ‘peachy’ and wishes him good night.

"Good night"

However, the way she is looking at her phone suggests that is not the case.
