As they come out of number 21, Colin is wondering what will happen if they come back, but Britt replies, “I don’t want to hear ‘what if this’ and ‘what if that’ – I don’t want to live the rest of my life in fear, Col!”

An unusual occupant of the car |
Outside the former salon, a car is parked, with a skeleton on the front passenger seat.

"A couple of cameras up there" |
Colin continues to suggest that it would be a good idea to have a couple of security cameras, but she points out that it would cost a lot.

Colin is rather taken aback when he turns and looks at the car with the skeleton; “Whose car is this?” he asks

Colin seems astonished |
and just then a stranger comes out of the former ‘Dan y Ser’ and wishes them good morning.

"Daphne didn't give you. fright, did she?" |
“I’m so sorry,” she says in English, “Daphne didn’t give you a fright, did she? Don’t worry – they’re not real bones – it’s a medical skeleton.” Then she realises that she should have introduced herself first before introducing her pet skeleton; “Maya Cooper – I’m opening a new pharmacy right here in the Cwm.

As she attempts to take Daphne from the car, Colin offers to give them both a hand into the shop.

Britt goes into MFC . . . |
Britt looks somewhat sceptical as Colin comments that Daphne is beautiful, then in turn goes into MFC.

As she takes the key from the hook and is about to open the back door, she hears some music, and is very suspicious;

as she creeps towards the counter, she picks up a large knife which happens to be lying nearby.

. . . which causes the intruder some distress |
This causes her intruder, in a sleeping bag behind the counter, some terror, and we see that it is Cheryl, who wishes her, “Good morning.”

Gwern turns on the television . . . |
At number 7, Gwern comes downstairs and begins to play his video game, but then looks round

Dani appears and asks what he is doing;

“I’m so sorry,” he says and she gives him a hug.

Cai comes downstairs at Y Felin, followed by Siôn; “Where are you going, dressed like that?” Cai asks and then realises that it is the day of Gwyneth’s funeral.

Iolo comments, “Nice for some, being able to forget so easily,” as he is looking at another picture on his phone.

His father considers that to be rather insensitive on a day like today; “It isn’t a day to remember Tyler.”

Iolo maintains that he thinks of Tyler every minute of every day. “It’s not good for you,” Siôn continues, “If anything, you’re making things worse – you weren’t even together when he died –

Iolo immediately goes upstairs, and Cai reprimands Siôn; “No-one’s perfect – and he has a right to grieve, even if Tyler . . .”

but Cai is already going out of the door.

Then a loud thump can be heard upstairs followed by Iolo shouting, “Greta!” so Siôn hurries upstairs to investigate.

Cheryl is ravenously hungry |
Britt provides Cheryl with some food and drink,

"I expect you to pay for a new lock" |
but is expecting her to pay for a new lock on the back door. “Yes – I am sorry,” says Cheryl, and Britt cannot understand why she broke into MFC and not anywhere else on the street.

"I could only find raw meat and frozen chips" |
“Dodgy lock, easy pickings – and I was starving! I could only find raw meat and frozen chips!” Britt is surprised that she did not fancy a pickled egg, but not many people like them.

“I used to know someone who loved them – someone who I thought was all right, but she turned out to be a real psycho!”

"Gwyneth, you mean?" |
Cheryl assumes that she means ‘that Gwyneth lady’, who Gaynor mentioned; “You two were an item, weren’t you?”

Britt was under the impression that she loved Gwyneth at one point, but that is hard to believe now.
Cheryl feel sorry for the boy, maintaining that no child should have to go through that;

“The funeral is today, isn’t it?” she asks as her phone sounds; “It’s Gaynor!” she sighs, and is advised to just answer it.

Cheryl does answer, rather gruffly; “Yeah – what do you want?”

Gwern is preparing for the funeral and is struggling with his tie;

Dani is glad that he has changed his mind and straightens the tie, assuring him that it is important he goes. “Jinx said that it will allow me to move on –

“but how long until I forget about her?” he wonders. Dani simply announces that it is time that they went, so he puts on his jacket and they leave the house.

Maya is still unloading her car, with Colin’s assistance, and has left the driver’s door wide open,

which proves somewhat of an obstruction when the hearse comes round the corner. Britt is watching from inside MFC and then comes out.

Maya is extremely apologetic, closes the door and the hearse proceeds on its way to Bethania.

It passes Dani and Gwern and they, together with Britt, follow it along the street.

“Your mother wants to talk to you,” he tells Arwen, and then adds, “But she doesn’t want to talk to you.”

He enquires why Arwen is not at school

Then he relays the message from Ffion, “She says not to be dramatic,” and Arwen insists that she is ill.

“Sorry, Arwen – I tried my best – I have to take you to school,” he says,

At Bethania Dani, Gwern and Britt enter and sit near the front; the congregation is rather sparse, with only Beti, Cassie and Megan, plus a couple of others. Llinos appears to be officiating at the organ.

Siôn arrives, apologising for his lateness and explaining that Greta fell, but that everything is fine.

As Colin assists with stacking boxes in the pharmacy, Maya tells him that he has been an absolute legend, and he thought that she would know a few words of Welsh.

“You just heard me say something silly, trying to reason with Hywel,” Gaynor goes on,

“Stay – please don’t go. I’ve been thinking – I’d like to pay off your debts.”

“So you do think I’m after your money?” Cheryl says, with mock outrage. Gaynor insists that she wants to pay her share, as Elsie was also her mother.

At the funeral, Siôn observes, “Life is not all rosy – not always easy. That is particularly true in Gwyneth’s case. She didn’t have the best start – she lost her mother to cancer when she was 13.

Jinx is actually looking for Arwen; she was in her room, but now has disappeared.

“Look at us – chasing teenagers around the village!” growls Dani.
Jinx comments, “It only feels like two minutes ago that I was one,” but then Dani espies Arwen across the road by the shop,

Gwern comes out of the kitchen and says he is sorry for running away,

The caller is Jinx, and she asks if Arwen is OK;

As Iolo and Greta leave the pharmacy, they are assured that she looks completely fine and that Iolo should not worry. He is almost in tears as he insists, “I can’t take any risks.”
Maya reminds him that kids fall all the time; “They’re tougher than we think.

“A bit of Calpol if she starts complaining, but other than that . . .

“are you OK?” He maintains that he is and they go on their way.
In the Deri, a lavish wake has been prepared, and Cassie brings in more food; she hopes that Gwern is all right.

However, Megan is not finished yet, but continues complaining to Siôn, “After all these years, I’m finding it very difficult to forgive Gwyneth.”

He responds that a lot of people are finding it difficult, but it might be comforting to look back at the lives of Tyler, Jaclyn and Brandon.

Cai comes in, demanding what is going on and then realises that it is the wake; he asks how it went, and would like a pint. He enquires whether the food is free, and is informed that it is – for mourners.

Then they call for Jinx and he thanks Dani for her assistance; “I really didn’t know what to do,” and she agrees that of course he would not.

He picks up a cake and leaves the Deri,
