"If you want milk, you'll have to go to the shop"

Ffion picks up a piece of toast and tells Val that there is butter in the fridge;  “But if you want milk in your tea, you’ll have to go to the shop, because Jinx has finished it.”

"Your sofa bad isn't much cop"

Her mother growls, “I slept reasonably well – thanks for asking.   Your sofa bed isn’t much cop.”   Ffion reminds her that she would have had a bed if she stayed at Y Felin with Cai.

"How could I stay with that pig?"

“How could I stay with that pig, after what he did your sister?” Val exclaims.

"Will you be all right on your own?"

Now Ffion has to go, and asks if her mother will be all right on her own.

"I'll be driving home this afternoon"

“I’m driving home this afternoon, so I’ll be out of your way,” Val adds, and Ffion is very pleased to hear it.

Val recommends that Ffion should have something better than toast for breakfast;  “You don’t look too healthy.”

"It's because I'm tired"

Ffion answers that if she looks unwell, it is because she is tired.

"You, harping on for over forty years"

“Believe it or not, having you harping on at me for over forty years leaves its mark!” Ffion continues

Ffion walks out

and walks out of the flat.

"I'm sure you're proud of your son"

In the Deri, Ieuan Griffiths arrives and comments to Hywel, “I’m sure you’re proud of your son – buying number 10 on the cheap from Anita and selling it on for an extortionate price.”

"It's none of your business"

Hywel replies that it is none of his business, but Ieuan goes on, “You lent him the money –

"Did you tell him to sell it on?"

“did you tell him to sell it on as well?”   Hywel is becoming angry, but Gaynor urges him to leave it.

"He learned these tricks from you!"

“He learned these tricks from you!” Hywel snarls, but Ieuan that Rhys’ lack of morals is down to his father.

"Ignore him, Hywel"

Gaynor encourages Hywel to ignore him.

"I could throttle Rhys . . ."

As they sit down, Hywel tells her, “If Rhys was here now, I’d throttle him – for being so underhanded.

". . . my name will be dirt in the council now"

“My name will be dirt on the council now.”   Gaynor does not say anything.

"I've come to ask a favour, Mathew"

Cassie comes into APD, where Mathew welcomes her;  “I’ve come to ask a favour,” she says, and at that moment Jason walks past them.

"Could you keep an eye on Tesni?"

“Gwyneth and I are going on holiday tonight and I thought you could keep an eye on Tesni.   Things are difficult for her – Rhys has gone and she’s determined to find her mother’s killer.   She doesn’t have anyone else, and you’re a friend – and ex-boyfriend.”

"That applies to Siôn as well"

Mathew points out that Siôn also falls under that category, but Cassie replies,

Jason looks dubious that Siôn would do that

“I wouldn’t trust him not to try to get her into bed in a moment of weakness.”

"Of course I will, Cassie"

Mathew agrees that he will of course watch out for Tesni, and she promises to bring him a nice present from duty-free.

"You're an all right bloke deep down"

Jason comments to Mathew, “You’re an all right bloke deep down – I just hope Rhys doesn’t mind.”

"You're worse than Megan for gossiping"

Mathew accuses him of being worse than Megan for gossiping, and reminds him that he has a wedding to organise.

"Which side of red – crimson or berry?"

Jason has just received a text from his Mam, wanting to know which shade of red he prefers;  “Crimson or Berry?”

"How do you know whether you're with the right person?"

“Do you mind if I ask you one question?   You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to,” Mathew enquires, “How do you know whether you’re with the right person?”

"Because I feel safe with Kelly"

After some thought, Jason answers, “Because I feel safe – with Kelly.   I can talk to her about everything – she knows everything about me and I know everything about her.

"And the secret is – no secrets!"

“Do you want to know what the secret is?   No secrets!   I’m not just marrying my partner, I’m marrying my best friend.”

"I thought Izzy and I were on the same path . . ."

Mathew thought that he and Izzy were on the same path but . . .

". . . and Tegwen disappeared"

“And Tegwen disappeared before I could find out.”

"I missed an opportunity with Kelly years ago"

Jason understands how that feels;  “I missed an opportunity with Kelly years ago – if there’s one thing I regret . . . I’ll tell you the details another time!”   Mathew is eager to hear more, but Jason has the difficult choice between crimson and berry.

"I'll be with you in a moment, Rhydian"

Sioned is at Deri Fawr and when she hear someone coming in through the door, she assumes that it is Rhydian, the farmhand.

"Have you come to get your stuff?"

However, when she turns round she sees that DJ is back.   “Have you come to get your stuff?” she asks,

"Why won't you answer your phone, Sioned?"

and he demands why she will not answer her phone.

"Why didn't you talk to me about this?"

“I’ve been worried about you,” he says, and Sioned wants to know why he did not talk to her about the note.

"I couldn't bear leaving you"

“I couldn’t bear leaving you,” so she demands why he did.

“Seeing you suffer was a lot worse,” he goes on, and she wants to know how he thought she felt,

"I was convinced you'd gone back to Non"

as she was convinced that he had gone back to Non.

"Everything I do is for us"

“Listen – when will you realise that everything I do is for us?   I know I hurt you and I’m working hard every day to make up for it.

"I wouldn't leave you for anyone!"

“I wouldn’t leave you for anyone!   I’ve been away to make money for us, so you can have what you deserve.”

Sioned hugs him

Sioned hugs him.

"Why not have time to myself?"

Iolo comes into the Deri, and Cassie remarks that she does not usually see him this early;  “Dad’s looking after Greta, I’ve finished for the day, so why not have time to myself?”

"How's the resolution going?"

“How’s the resolution going to stay away from these men,” she asks,

"Not much choice round here, is there?"

and he points out that there is not much choice around there.   She recommends that he should look further than Cwmderi next time.   “We’ve all made the mistake of falling for someone on our doorstep – and more than once.”

"Have you heard from Eifion?"

“And how is Eifion?   Have you heard from him since Christmas?   You’re better off without him, after what he did to Tyler.

"Tyler is to blame as well"

Iolo stresses that Tyler is also to blame, but Eifion went too far and that they were arguing for a long time.

"Been a long time since two men fought over me"

“It’s been a long time since two men fought over me,” groans Cassie, “Love brings out the worst in some people.”

"Don't let him wind you up, Hywel"

Still sitting at the table, Gaynor is trying to persuade Hywel not to let Griffiths wind him up, but Hywel is adamant that he is not the problem;

"People will think I supported Rhys"

“If I’d known why Rhys wanted the money, I would never have lent it to him.   People will think I supported him.”

"He hasn't broken any rules, has he?"

She accuses him of worrying too much, and stresses that Rhys has not done anything wrong;  he has not broken any rules, but just saw an opportunity to invest and make a profit.

"I thought yo would praise his entrepreneurship"

“I thought you would praise his entrepreneurship,” she adds,

"You sound as unprincipled as him now!"

but Hywel maintains that she sounds as unprincipled as him now.   They leave the Deri.

"When is the taxi picking you up?"

Tesni asks when the taxi is picking them up, and is told that it will be as soon as Cassie has finished her shift.

"Are you sure you don't want to come?"

Gwyneth enquires if she is sure that she does not want to come, but receives the same answer as before.

“I know it’s difficult, but you have to let the police do their work,” says Gwyneth, who cannot find the passports.

"I moved them somewhere safer . . ."

“They were in that drawer – until I moved them to somewhere safer –

". . . and I can't remember where"

“and I can’t remember where.”

"Have I been too hard on Tyler?"

Cassie asks Iolo, “Why the long face?” and he says that he was thinking;  he wonders if he has been too hard on Tyler by not letting him see Greta.

"Has we apologised for whatever he did?"

Cassie says that it depends on the details;  “Has he apologised for whatever he did?   And do you believe him?”

"Yes I believe him"

Iolo says that he does, and Cassie imagines that he has suffered enough.

"Think about Greta"

“I’m not telling you how to raise your child – but think about Greta – is she suffering by not seeing her father?”   Iolo realises that she is right,

"I'm not giving poolside advice over the phone"

and Cassie enquires if there are any other things he can she can help him with, as she is going on holiday tonight and does not intend to give poolside advice over the phone.

Iolo is happier now

Iolo thanks her for the advice and now appears much happier.

"I remember taking them out of the drawer"

Gwyneth is still frantically searching for the passports;  “I remember taking them out of the drawer, where did I put them?”

"You don't have to do this 'lost the passports' act"

Tesni insists that she does not have to do this;  “The whole ‘we’ve lost our passports’ act.   You and Cassie feel guilty that I can’t go.”

"I'm not going to cancel a holiday"

Gwyneth denies that this is true;  “I like you, Tesni, but I’m not going to cancel a holiday because I feel sorry for you!”

"I've had so much going around in my head"

As they sit together on the sofa, Sioned confesses, “I’ve had so much going around in my head,” and DJ replies that if she had just answered the phone, she would have been spared that.

"We are a family, Sioned"

“I thought you’d gone because I can’t give you a family,” she goes on, but he emphasises that they are family.   “I’ve lost two babies, DJ –there’s a reason for that.”

"If there is a reason, we'll face it together"

“Well, if there is, we’ll face it together,” he tells her, but she still wants to know where he has been.

"I was in Ireland – at Dic's"

“Ireland – at Dic’s,” he says, and she is so sorry for putting him in a position where he had to beg for money from his family.

"It's us that's important to me!"

“I want you to understand that it’s us that’s important to me!” she insists,

"I don't care if I have to live on bread and water"

“I don’t care if I have to live on bread and water, as long as I’m with you.”

Sioned will bet him a sandwich

She thinks that he must be starving and goes to make him a sandwich;  “Is ham OK?”

"Still here, are you?"

Ffion returns from school and is disappointed to see that her mother is still there;

"I've been thinking about what you said"

“I’ve been thinking about what you said earlier,” begins Val, “That I’ve left my mark.   I’m still angry that Cai left Nesta for you.”

"Not this again?"

“Not this again – you knew that their marriage was under strain,” but Val insists that does not change what Ffion did.   “Do you want to talk, or just point the finger?” Ffion demands.

"I do want you to be happy"

“You might find this hard to believe, but I do want you to be happy  I know I can be harsh, but I do care about you,” she goes on,

Ffion does not believe that

and Ffion does not look convinced by this.   “If you and Cai are happy, well, Nesta and I will have to find a way to live with it.”

"We're not together any more"

Ffion announces that she and Cai are not together any more;  “We’ve finished,” and her mother says that she is in a class of her own.

"It's not enough to steal your sister's husband"

“It’s not enough to steal your sister’s husband, but you rub salt in the wound by dumping him the second you’ve ruined her life!”

"Listen to yourself!"

“Listen to yourself!” snarls Ffion, “Would you rather I stay with him even though I don’t love him – just to prove a point?”

“You’d have a reason to do it – not just spite!” yells Val, just as Jinx walks in on this ‘conversation’.

"Ever considered I might want to be happy?"

“Have you ever considered I might do what I do to be happy?” Ffion shouts, “It’s nothing to do with you and Nesta.”

"You've always been selfish!"

“Exactly – you’ve always been selfish!” Val screams, and Jinx tells her that is enough;  he wants to know what this is all about.

"Haven't you tortured her enough over the years?"

“Haven’t you tortured her enough over the years?   I know Ffion has tried her best with you – and all you do is throw it back in her face – I’ve had enough –

"Go back up North, will you?"

“go back up North, will you?”

"Before I say something I regret"

Val agrees that she will go before she says something which she regrets.

"Thanks for that, Jinx"

Ffion thanks him,

He hugs her

and he hugs her.

"I was passing on my way from the Deri"

Iolo arrives at number 7 once again, and Tyler says he would have tidied up, if he knew Iolo was coming.   “I was just passing on my way from the Deri,” he is told, “I’m not here to judge you –

"I've been thinking"

“I’ve just been thinking a lot about what we discussed the other night about missing Greta and that you are really sorry about the stealing.

"If you really are sorry"

“Greta misses you – and if you really are sorry for all the things you’ve done –

Tyler thinks this sounds promising

“it’s not fair on Greta that she misses out any more.   So I thought you might want to see her during the week or something, and then perhaps you could look after her at the weekend.”

"I'd like to take her to the Peppa Pig place"

Tyler is very pleased about this and would like to take her to the Peppa Pig place.

"I'll let you know, after talking to Dad"

Iolo will tell her and will let Tyler know in the week, after talking to his father.

"I appreciate that, Iol"

Tyler is very appreciative of this.

"She's going to kill me!"

The frantic search for passports continues;  “She’s going to kill me!” Gwyneth predicts, and then the door opens.

"Has Lloyd George died or something?"

Cassie wonders why they are looking so serious, asking whether Lloyd George has died or something.

"I can't find the passports"

Gwyneth confesses that she cannot find the passports.

"What – these?   I found them in a biscuit tin"

Cassie reaches into her pocket and produces them;  “I found them in a biscuit tin – what a stupid place to keep them!”

"Right, we must get going"

Now the two of them are in a hurry to leave,

"You will be all right, won't you?"

and Tesni tells them to go and enjoy themselves;

Now Tesni has the house to herself

she is left alone in the house.

"I'm going, then"

At Cysgod y Glyn, they are preparing for dinner when Val comes in and informs them that she is going;  Ffion wishes her a safe journey,

"You're become such a bitter cow!"

but she cannot resist snarling, “Blimey –you’ve become such a bitter cow – I don’t know why I bother with you!”

"Have you ever wondered why?"

As she goes out of the door, Ffion shouts, “I’m bitter, am I?   Have you ever wondered why?”

Jinx hears a disturbing noise

Then there is the clattering sound of someone falling downstairs and screaming.

"Call for an ambulance!"

“Jinx, phone for an ambulance – she’s fallen downstairs!” Ffion shouts, and he does so.

"I bet Dic was pleased to see you"

Sioned is in the kitchen and comments to DJ, “I bet Dic was pleased to see you.”   He replies that Dic is looking forward to meeting her, too.

"Dad had some stories about him"

“Dad had some stories about him when we were growing up,” she goes on, and DJ is looking forward to hearing her version.

"He's doing very well out therer"

“He’s doing very well out there, fair play,” and Sioned hopes that he was not angry that they were asking for money.

"I didn't ask for money"

DJ explains, “I didn’t ask for any money – I worked.   Dic’s business is doing very well at the moment –

"There's more work out there – if I wanted it"

“there are plenty of opportunities.   And there’s more work out there – if I wanted it.”

"I'd like us to move there"

“I’d like us to go there to live,” he announces, “I’d like us to move there.”

This comes as a shock to Sioned

This takes Sioned by surprise.
