Tyler asks when he is going to tell his mother, but he says he cannot do that as it would break her heart, which is the last thing she needs.

“You were keen for me to tell Mathew the truth!” Tyler points out, but is told that this situation is different. “So Brynmor will get away with it?”
Mark is adamant that this will not happen, but also that he is not going to tell his mother;

Britt is looking at ghosts |
At the chip shop flat, Britt, in her pyjamas, is looking on the laptop at something ghostly;

Colin comes in and wishes her good morning, wondering how long she has been up. “I haven’t been to bed,” she replies, “I’ve been researching paranormal nights –

“there’s loads of money to be made.”
He is astonished that she has not been to bed at all, but she says that she has been too busy; “The profit margins are huge!

“But there we are, you don’t have to pay ghosts, do you?” Colin imagines that she must be tired, but she continues, “The thing is, I need a £7,000 loan from the bank to set it up tidy.”

Colin scoffs at that, “The bank won’t you give us £7,000, love,” and she agrees that they probably will not, but she will find it somewhere else. Now she wants him to make her a cup of tea as she is gasping, and she goes into the bedroom.

As he takes some teabags from the tin, he hears her voice, “Yes, I think it’s a fantastic idea, but no one else can see it. Of course you’d think this was a good idea –

“you’re my brother, aren’t you?” and he comes to the conclusion that she is speaking to Garry.

Jinx arrives at Penrhewl |
Jaclyn is working at Penrhewl when Jinx walks in, commenting that something smells nice, but apparently it is only potatoes boiling.

He rather haltingly says, “I came to check you’re all right after the call last night,”

and she replies that she is good.

"I hope you don't think I took advantage" |
“I hope you don’t think I took advantage,” he goes on,

"I was the one dragging you upstairs!" |
and she acknowledges that it was she who dragged him upstairs, if she is being honest.
“Look, I think you’re a lovely person, but we shouldn’t do that again,” she decides,

and he agrees with that, 100% – in fact, it was just what he was going to say.

However Jaclyn would like them to remain friends, and has invited Ffion over for dinner, if he would like to come as well.

He regrets that he cannot, as he has a shift on the pizzas tonight (the first time the pizza business has been mentioned for ages), and leaves the farm. Jaclyn looks very pleased with herself

Anita has visited Maes-y-Deri, where Brynmor is bringing Kath a drink; “You’ve got an excellent nurse there,” Anita comments, and Kath wants to know all the local gossip. “Have you heard that Dani is going to do a college course?” Anita asks.

“Dani? I didn’t know Dani could read!” is Kath’s acerbic reply,

and she is told that she is going to study a degree in criminology and psychology. Kath thinks that sounds a bit heavy.

Meanwhile, it appears that Cassie has been doing some investigation and sends a text to Brynmor; ‘I found a car for Kath in Llanelli – if you want to see it?’

Kath enquires, “Is anyone is with someone they shouldn’t be?”

"I'm popping out to get something for dinner" |
and Brynmor says that he has to pop out to get something for dinner; Anita will stay to keep Kath company.

He is told that Kath might have a surprise for him when he gets back;

he is looking forward to that.
Of course, Anita wants to know what the surprise is,

and she is informed, “My legs are so much better, I might be able to stand up for the first time since the accident – thanks to him looking after me so well.” Anita is very pleased to hear this news.

and can see Cassie and Brynmor coming from the Deri and getting into the car;

Inside the Deri, Andrea is surprised to hear that Dani is to be studying criminology; “That’s so exciting!” she says, but Dani does not know what she is going to do when she finishes the course. “Perhaps you can launch a Detective Agency – like in ‘Murder, She Wrote’ – I loved that show!”

Meanwhile there is a new barman behind the bar, as Dani is suggesting that she wants one of those old-fashioned typewriters, like they had on the television.

Colin comes in, asking if either of them has heard from Garry; they seem pleased to report that they have not.

“Britt was on the phone to him earlier – has he come into money?” he continues, but they have no idea. “I’m worried about Britt – does she seem a bit odd to you?”

“No more than usual,” says Dani, and he explains that she wants to borrow £7,000 for these paranormal nights – and he is not sure about it.

Dani volunteers to talk to Britt, which Colin welcomes, imagining that she would get more sense out of her than he can.
Gwern arrives back from school, looking rather happy,

and indicates to Dani, “Look how many praise points I’ve got!” She congratulates him, and then asks what he wants.

but again Arwen stresses that she has managed to get full marks. Her mother groans, “All right, then – but nothing worse than PG!”

Jinx is of the opinion that Arwen seems to have ‘turned a corner’ and Ffion hopes that is the case,

Jinx is quite convinced that they understand each other now. “It happened once – it’s not the end of the world, but it will never happen again.”

Kath regrets that she is not rollerskating yet, but in another couple of weeks, she will be much better. “Brynmor’s just like an angel,” she says,

As soon as she has gone, Tyler cannot wait to impart his news; he blurts out, “Brynmor’s having an affair with Cassie!”

which Kath cannot quite comprehend. “Mark saw them kissing yesterday – I’ve seen a video – and I’ve just seen them go off in his car.

“Mark doesn’t want you to know – they’ve been at it since at least the night of your accident. I’m sorry.”

Kath wants him to go, but he protests that she has a right to know,

“Just go, will you?” she says.
He does so, hoping that she and Brynmor can sort this out;

Dani has visited the chip shop to speak to Britt; “Who’s going to look after the children while you’re studying?” Britt asks, and Dani says that she will be studying while they are sleeping.

“When mine were young, I fell asleep on the sofa the second Aaron went down,” Britt recalls, and then the subject is turned to how Britt is at the moment.

“Not too good,” is the answer, “I can’t find someone to invest £7,000 in these paranormal nights – you know – haunted houses, seances, tours, that sort of thing. Do you want to invest £7,000?”

Dani immediately answers, “No – have you asked Garry?” Britt is certain that Garry would never invest in it,

even if he had the money, and points out that Colin does not like the idea either.

Only a few steps along the street Dani finds Colin, looking concerned, sitting on the bench.
“I don’t think she’s going to do it – she can’t find the money,” Dani advises, “She said she hadn’t spoken to Garry about it.”

Colin is sure that he heard her talking to him this morning.

Ffion agrees that he is very sweet, rather like a loyal dog; “I just hope that Arwen and I are not stopping him from getting on with his life. He understands Arwen a lot better than I do.”
Jaclyn bemoans the fact, “Tes is almost 21, and I still don’t understand her.

Kath is looking worried, and when Brynmor comes back in, apologising for being so long,

she asks, “Did you get what you wanted?” He replies that he got a couple of chops from the butcher in town. Kath says that Anita has just left; “Did you see anyone?” she asks, but he is fussing over Kath being left on her own.

He will make her a cup of tea, and wonders what that surprise was that Kath was going to show him;

“Nothing – it’s not important any more,” she mumbles.

As they sit watching the television, Colin says that he is sorry she cannot find the money for these paranormal nights; she is of the opinion that it might happen next year.

“But if the bank won’t lend, they won’t lend,” he insists.

"Why are you pouring cold water on it?" |
She wants to know why he is pouring cold water on the idea; “And don’t think I don’t know you asked Dani to talk to me – I’m not stupid, you know!”

He tells her that he is not at all keen on this paranormal business,

but Britt cannot understand why. “Because of Izzy,” he replies, “I don’t like to think that she is out there somewhere, trying to contact me.

“I know we’ve discussed this, but I want to think that she is resting quietly, in peace.”

Britt says that she will let the matter drop, which is a relief to him, but it appears that she has no intention of doing this.

At number 10, Ffion does not know where the time has gone; “It only feels like yesterday that I brought her home from hospital.

Jaclyn protests that she cannot expect Ffion to drop everything outside school hours, but Ffion realises that is exactly what she would do as head teacher.

when they suddenly hear the front door opening, and they hurry to find hiding places.

Hywel comes in, having picked up the post, and gives the place a cursory glance before going out again.

“That was too close!” gasps Gwern, and Arwen agrees with him, demanding why he did not say that Hywel comes in there sometimes.

“Do you need clean pants?” she asks, “You were shaking like a leaf!” He denies it, and they settle down again to watch the film.

At the chip shop flat, Colin thinks that it is time for bed, but Britt will not join him; he tells her not be too long.

With him safely out of the way, Britt begins to talk, but not to herself, “Good night, love. I miss you every day, you know – me, Dani and the children.”

Jaclyn is clearing up the dishes when there is a knock at the door and she finds that it is Jinx, who is carrying a pizza.

He announces, “Good news for you two – we made one pizza too many, so you might as well have it.” Then, looking around, he asks, “Where is she?” and it is explained that there was a crisis at school – or rather not a crisis, but just Gaynor being fussy.

Jaclyn maintains that Ffion works too hard; “She has to make sure she doesn’t get too stressed. You can take that home.”

He proposes that he can cut the pizza in half.

Then they look into each other’s eyes, the pizza is discarded, and they embrace enthusiastically.
