Mark reviews the evidence

Mark is looking again at the video footage on his phone when Tyler comes downstairs, and wonders what he is studying.   

"Brynmor and Cassie are having an affair"

“Brynmor and Cassie are having an affair,” says Mark, showing him the phone.   “I suspected something the night Mam had her accident – then I saw them kissing yesterday – 

"I should kill him"

“I should kill him!”

"When are you going to tell your mother"

Tyler asks when he is going to tell his mother, but he says he cannot do that as it would break her heart, which is the last thing she needs.   

"You were keen for me to tell Mathew the truth"

“You were keen for me to tell Mathew the truth!” Tyler points out, but is told that this situation is different.   “So Brynmor will get away with it?”

Mark is adamant that this will not happen, but also that he is not going to tell his mother;  

"Promise me you won't tell her!"

“And promise me that you won’t tell her either!”

Britt is looking at ghosts

At the chip shop flat, Britt, in her pyjamas, is looking on the laptop at something ghostly;  

"How long have you been up, then?"

Colin comes in and wishes her good morning, wondering how long she has been up.   “I haven’t been to bed,” she replies, “I’ve been researching paranormal nights – 

"There's loads of money to be made!"

“there’s loads of money to be made.”

He is astonished that she has not been to bed at all, but she says that she has been too busy;  “The profit margins are huge!   

"You don't have to pay ghosts, do you?"

“But there we are, you don’t have to pay ghosts, do you?”   Colin imagines that she must be tired, but she continues, “The thing is, I need a £7,000 loan from the bank to set it up tidy.”

"The bank won't give you £7.000, love"

Colin scoffs at that, “The bank won’t you give us £7,000, love,” and she agrees that they probably will not, but she will find it somewhere else.   Now she wants him to make her a cup of tea as she is gasping, and she goes into the bedroom.

Colin imagines she is talking to cGarry

As he takes some teabags from the tin, he hears her voice, “Yes, I think it’s a fantastic idea, but no one else can see it.   Of course you’d think this was a good idea – 

"You're my brother, aren't you?"

“you’re my brother, aren’t you?” and he comes to the conclusion that she is speaking to Garry.

Jinx arrives at Penrhewl 

Jaclyn is working at Penrhewl when Jinx walks in, commenting that something smells nice, but apparently it is only potatoes boiling.   

"I came to check you're all right"

He rather haltingly says, “I came to check you’re all right after the call last night,” 

"Yeah, I'm good"

and she replies that she is good.

"I hope you don't think I took advantage"

“I hope you don’t think I took advantage,” he goes on, 

"I was the one dragging you upstairs!"

and she acknowledges that it was she who dragged him upstairs, if she is being honest.

“Look, I think you’re a lovely person, but we shouldn’t do that again,” she decides, 

"That's just what I was going to say"

and he agrees with that, 100% – in fact, it was just what he was going to say.   

"I want is to stay friends"

However Jaclyn would like them to remain friends, and has invited Ffion over for dinner, if he would like to come as well.

"I have a shift on the pizzas tonight"

He regrets that he cannot, as he has a shift on the pizzas tonight (the first time the pizza business has been mentioned for ages), and leaves the farm.   Jaclyn looks very pleased with herself

"You've got an excellent nurse there, Kath"

Anita has visited Maes-y-Deri, where Brynmor is bringing Kath a drink;  “You’ve got an excellent nurse there,” Anita comments, and Kath wants to know all the local gossip.   “Have you heard that Dani is going to do a college course?” Anita asks.

"Dani?   I didn't know Dani could read!?

“Dani?   I didn’t know Dani could read!” is Kath’s acerbic reply, 

"Criminology and Psychology"

and she is told that she is going to study a degree in criminology and psychology.   Kath thinks that sounds a bit heavy.

Cassie has located a car in Llanelli

Meanwhile, it appears that Cassie has been doing some investigation and  sends a text to Brynmor;  ‘I found a car for Kath in Llanelli – if you want to see it?’

"Is anyone with someone they shouldn't be?"

Kath enquires, “Is anyone is with someone they shouldn’t be?” 

"I'm popping out to get something for dinner"

and Brynmor says that he has to pop out to get something for dinner;  Anita will stay to keep Kath company.   

"I might have a surprise for you when you get back"

He is told that Kath might have a surprise for him when he gets back;  

"I'm looking forward to it"

he is looking forward to that.

Of course, Anita wants to know what the surprise is, 

"I might be able to stand up thought he first time"

and she is informed, “My legs are so much better, I might be able to stand up for the first time since the accident – thanks to him looking after me so well.”   Anita is very pleased to hear this news.

From the door of number 7 . . .

Tyler marches purposefully from number 7 

. . . Tyler spots Brynmor and Cassie together . . .

and can see Cassie and Brynmor coming from the Deri and getting into the car;  

. . . confirming what Mark told him

as far as he is concerned, this confirms what he was told by Mark.

"That's so exciting!"

Inside the Deri, Andrea is surprised to hear that Dani is to be studying criminology;  “That’s so exciting!” she says, but Dani does not know what she is going to do when she finishes the course.   “Perhaps you can launch a Detective Agency – like in ‘Murder, She Wrote’ – I loved that show!”

We should be told who this new barman is

Meanwhile there is a new barman behind the bar, as Dani is suggesting that she wants one of those old-fashioned typewriters, like they had on the television.   

"Have either of you heard from Garry?

Colin comes in, asking if either of them has heard from Garry;  they seem pleased to report that they have not.

"Does Britt seem a bit odd to you?"

“Britt was on the phone to him earlier – has he come into money?” he continues, but they have no idea.   “I’m worried about Britt – does she seem a bit odd to you?”

"No more than usual"

“No more than usual,” says Dani, and he explains that she wants to borrow £7,000 for these paranormal nights – and he is not sure about it.   

"I'm worried Garry will give her the money"

He is worried Garry will give her the money.   

"Would you like me to talk to her?"

Dani volunteers to talk to Britt, which Colin welcomes, imagining that she would get more sense out of her than he can.

Gwern arrives back from school, looking rather happy, 

"Look how man praise points I've got!"

and indicates to Dani, “Look how many praise points I’ve got!”   She congratulates him, and then asks what he wants.   

"Can I watch a film at Gwion's?"

“Can I watch a film at Gwion’s?   You don’t know him.”   He assures Dani that Gwion’s parents say that it is OK, 

"OK, then"

so she agrees, and he immediately sends the 👍 ‘thumbs up’ emoticon to Arwen, 

He looks pleased with himself"

and looks very pleased..

"Look, Mam – full marks!"

She in turn is also showing Ffion the full marks which she attained, 

"What do you want?"

and her mother also wonders what she wants.   “Can I go to Mali’s to watch a film tonight, please?   

"Anita's so boring!"

“Anita’s so boring!”

"Even though you're grounded?"

“Do you think you’ve done enough to deserve to go out again – even though you’re grounded?” Ffion asks, 

"Look – full marks!"

but again Arwen stresses that she has managed to get full marks.   Her mother groans, “All right, then – but nothing worse than PG!”

"It looks as if she has 'turned a corner'"

Jinx is of the opinion that Arwen seems to have ‘turned a corner’ and Ffion hopes that is the case, 

"I'm sure she showed that homework last term"

but is sure that she showed that homework last term as well.

Then she enquires how it went with Jaclyn;  

"It will never happen again" — oh yeah?

Jinx is quite convinced that they understand each other now.   “It happened once – it’s not the end of the world, but it will never happen again.”   

"I don't want things to be awkward tonight"

Ffion is pleased to hear that, as the last thing she wants is for things to be awkward tonight.

"Will you be discussing me?"

Jinx is worried that they will be discussing him, 

"We'll try not to laugh too much!"

but she assures him that they will try not to laugh too much.

Tyler pays a visit to Kath

Tyler arrives at Maes-y-Deri, and is told to help himself to biscuits;  

"I'm not quite rollerskating yet"

Kath regrets that she is not rollerskating yet, but in another couple of weeks, she will be much better.   “Brynmor’s just like an angel,” she says, 

"I'd better go, then"

and Anita takes this opportunity to leave.

Tyler blurts out his allegation . . .

As soon as she has gone, Tyler cannot wait to impart his news;  he blurts out, “Brynmor’s having an affair with Cassie!” 

. . . which Kath finds unbelievable

which Kath cannot quite comprehend.   “Mark saw them kissing yesterday – I’ve seen a video – and I’ve just seen them go off in his car.   

"They've been at it at least since your accident"

“Mark doesn’t want you to know – they’ve been at it since at least the night of your accident.   I’m sorry.”

"I want you to go now!"

Kath wants him to go, but he protests that she has a right to know, 

"I've been in your situation"

and that he has been in her situation;  

"Just go, will you?"

“Just go, will you?” she says. 

He does so, hoping that she and Brynmor can sort this out;  

"If you're honest with each other"

“You can only do that if you’re honest with each other,” he advises.

"Who's going to look after the children?"

Dani has visited the chip shop to speak to Britt;  “Who’s going to look after the children while you’re studying?” Britt asks, and Dani says that she will be studying while they are sleeping.

"I used to fall asleep on the sofa"

“When mine were young, I fell asleep on the sofa the second Aaron went down,” Britt recalls, and then the subject is turned to how Britt is at the moment.   

"I can't find someone to invest £7,000"

“Not too good,” is the answer, “I can’t find someone to invest £7,000 in these paranormal nights – you know – haunted houses, seances, tours, that sort of thing.   Do you want to invest £7,000?”

"Have you asked Garry?"

Dani immediately answers, “No – have you asked Garry?”   Britt is certain that Garry would never invest in it, 

"Even if he had the money"

even if he had the money, and points out that Colin does not like the idea either.

“Now, if you don’t mind, I’ve got work to do” she snaps, 

The pickled eggs are put beside the pickled onions

and puts a jar of pickled eggs on the counter.

Colin is eager to hear from Dani

Only a few steps along the street Dani finds Colin, looking concerned, sitting on the bench.

“I don’t think she’s going to do it – she can’t find the money,” Dani advises, “She said she hadn’t spoken to Garry about it.”   

"I'm sure I heard her talking to him"

Colin is sure that he heard her talking to him this morning.   

"She knows you're not keen"

“Don’t worry – she knows you’re not keen.”   He is pleased that she has spoken to Britt, 

"It helps to have fresh eyes looking at it"

maintaining that it helps to have fresh eyes looking at something.

Ffion enters number 10

Ffion comes into number 10, carrying a bottle and Jaclyn will get a couple of glasses;  

"Jinx has told me about it"

“I heard Jinx came over to see you this morning – it’s all right – he’s told me about . . . 

"We haven't been an item for years"

“We haven’t been an item for years.”  

"I don't want to come between you"

Jaclyn is anxious not to come between them, but Ffion is glad that it happened;  “I’m sure you did him the world of good!”   

Jaclyn is not so sure about that;  “He’ll be afraid to leave the house, 

"In case another middle-aged divorcée jumps on him!"

“in case another middle-aged divorcée jumps on him!”   

"He should be counting his blessings 

Ffion thinks that he should be counting his blessings, 

"We understand each other"

and Jaclyn comments, “We understand each other – it was nice to see him.”

"He's sweet – like a loyal dog"

Ffion agrees that he is very sweet, rather like a loyal dog;  “I just hope that Arwen and I are not stopping him from getting on with his life.   He understands Arwen a lot better than I do.”

Jaclyn bemoans the fact, “Tes is almost 21, and I still don’t understand her.   

"You're lucky to have him"

“You’re lucky to have Jinx.”

Brynmor is back

Kath is looking worried, and when Brynmor comes back in, apologising for being so long, 

"Did you get what you wanted?"

she asks, “Did you get what you wanted?”   He replies that he got a couple of chops from the butcher in town.   Kath says that Anita has just left;  “Did you see anyone?” she asks, but he is fussing over Kath being left on her own.   

"What was that surprise, then?"

He will make her a cup of tea, and wonders what that surprise was that Kath was going to show him;  

"It's not important any more"

“Nothing – it’s not important any more,” she mumbles.

"Sorry you can't find the money"

As they sit watching the television, Colin says that he is sorry she cannot find the money for these paranormal nights;  she is of the opinion that it might happen next year.   

"If they won't lend, they won't lend"

“But if the bank won’t lend, they won’t lend,” he insists.

"Why are you pouring cold water on it?"

She wants to know why he is pouring cold water on the idea;  “And don’t think I don’t know you asked Dani to talk to me – I’m not stupid, you know!”

"I'm not keen on this paranormal business"

He tells her that he is not at all keen on this paranormal business, 

"But why?"

but Britt cannot understand why.   “Because of Izzy,” he replies, “I don’t like to think that she is out there somewhere, trying to contact me.   

"I want to think she is resting in peace"

“I know we’ve discussed this, but I want to think that she is resting quietly, in peace.”

Britt says she will let the matter drop

Britt says that she will let the matter drop, which is a relief to him, but it appears that she has no intention of doing this.

"I don't know where the time has gone"

At number 10, Ffion does not know where the time has gone;  “It only feels like yesterday that I brought her home from hospital.   

"O really thought we had another couple of years"

“I really thought we had another couple of years before I had a moody teenager around the house.”

"Moody toddler to moody teenager"

Jaclyn maintains that Tes went from being a moody toddler to being a moody teenager;  “But Guto was completely different – he was a little boy for years – 

"Guto wanted bedtime stories until he was 12"

“he wanted bedtime stories until he was 12.”

"Gaynor wants an urgent meeting"

Ffion has had a message on her phone;  “Gaynor wants an urgent meeting with me and the governors – she wants to discuss the school’s inclusion policy.    She says there are no authors of colour in Esther’s class library.” 

"She can't expect you to drop everything"

Jaclyn protests that she cannot expect Ffion to drop everything outside school hours, but Ffion realises that is exactly what she would do as head teacher.   

"She wrote the blinkin' inclusion policy!"

“What annoys me more is that she wrote the blinking inclusion policy!   You’ll have to come to ours next time.”

"You're not scared, are you?"

Gwern and Arwen are sitting watching a film on the laptop in Hywel’s house 

Then they hear the front door

when they suddenly hear the front door opening, and they hurry to find hiding places.

Hywel has a quick look round 

Hywel comes in, having picked up the post, and gives the place a cursory glance before going out again.   

"Why didn't you say that he comes here?"

“That was too close!” gasps Gwern, and Arwen agrees with him, demanding why he did not say that Hywel comes in there sometimes.

"Do you need clean pants?"

“Do you need clean pants?” she asks, “You were shaking like a leaf!”   He denies it, and they settle down again to watch the film.

"Right, time for bed"

At the chip shop flat, Colin thinks that it is time for bed, but Britt will not join him;  he tells her not be too long.

"I miss you every day, you know"

With him safely out of the way, Britt begins to talk, but not to herself, “Good night, love.   I miss you every day, you know – me, Dani and the children.”   

The late Brandon Monk

She looks up at the picture of Brandon on the wall, 

"I love you too, Brandon"

continuing, “Yes, I know – I love you too, Brandon.”

Jinx has brought a pizza

Jaclyn is clearing up the dishes when there is a knock at the door and she finds that it is Jinx, who is carrying a pizza.   

"We made one too many"

He announces, “Good news for you two – we made one pizza too many, so you might as well have it.”   Then, looking around, he asks, “Where is she?” and it is explained that there was a crisis at school – or rather not a crisis, but just Gaynor being fussy.

"You can take that home"

Jaclyn maintains that Ffion works too hard;  “She has to make sure she doesn’t get too stressed.   You can take that home.”   

"I could cut it in half, if you like"

He proposes that he can cut the pizza in half.

Once they look into each other's eyes . . .

Then they look into each other’s eyes, the pizza is discarded, and they embrace enthusiastically.   

. . . unbridled passion takes over . . .

He points out that the pizza will stain the carpet, 

 . . .and he is dragged towards the stairs – again

but Jaclyn is determined that they are going upstairs once again.
